Best NY pizza in Alpharetta. For a change the owner claims to be from up state NY and not the city like so many do post 9-11. I love the calamari, best I have had in ga. I liked the place so much that I have brought 5 people there and they all loved it. I always get something different. Servers are a little too pushy to turn tables that is past annoying and ruins the experience. Just like anywhere else, they are no where to be found when you need them.

I like Mangia. It's not the greatest Italian that I've ever had, but it certainly isn't the worst either. I've tried quite a few things from here and some of my favorites are chicken marsala, lasagna, and cheese ravioli. Their pizza is delicious as well. I'm not a big fan of their garlic knots, but their salads are really good. They're not too busy during the week but the weekend can be really busy (depending on the time). They have delivery and carry out, so if you can't do the waiting game, they've got you covered.

Don't let the reviews fool you. I believe that people who actually enjoy eating here don't cook and don't care. I have only sampled their food in my home and not the restaurant. My husband and daughter brought it home as take out on two separate occasions. It was unanimous! This food is just really bad! The pizza was just bad on every level, (bad crust, sauce and ingredients). The pasta was heavy, dry and just weird, (probably because the fat had congealed). The pastry was pure sugar and no flavor. The food just wasn't edible. For me to even consider going to your restaurant, your food has to be AT LEAST as good as what am able to prepare, otherwise why would I bother to go out and eat. I could just stay home. If this is your idea of good food, God Bless You *Not recommended. Edited on 2/17/15

This is for delivery only, we've never been to the restaurant. Good option for delivery pizza in the Alpharetta/Johns Creek area. Here's what we've had: Pizza: All the different varieties we've had have been good and probably the best thing on the menu. It's closest to New York style if I had to peg a "style" on it. Spaghetti with Meatballs: Skip this, it's pretty flavorless and not good at all. Hard meatballs, watery pasta and bland sauce. I'm probably gonna say it's safe to assume that the pasta menu is gonna be like every other average crappy Italian joint's and suggest you stick to the pizza. Garlic knots: Standard, but standard garlic knots are awesome so these are awesome. Chicken Wings: We've had both boneless (aka chicken tenders) and bone in. Both were good. Their spice level is really tame though so if you like it spicy go for the highest level and you might still be disappointed. Greek Salad w/Chicken: Average salad you'd expect from a pizza joint, nothing to write home about but it's an option for those of us who like to eat some roughage with our greasy carbs. Service: They are always real friendly, on the phone and once they get to your home, and the delivery gets to you within their specified time. Overall, I wouldn't really go out for dinner here but for delivery, it's good and the best we've found in Alpharetta so far.

The waitress service made the meal (Alexis)! She was knowledgeable about the menu and was very pleasant. We ordered an appetizer and we (4) all ordered different entrees which we were very happy with. Great casual dining!

Close by and great delivery service. Low key family oriented atmosphere with good American Italian cuisine. Good place to catch a game and dinner.

My son swears this is the best Pizza place in Alpharetta! It is really flavorful and they are not skimpy with the toppings. My favorite pizza pie at this place is the one with all the meats. I haven't tried much else besides the Garlic Knots and Pizza. I really enjoyed both. If we want to dine in for pizza, this is our family's go to place. Yum! #goodpizza

I have never been to the brick and mortar business, so this rating is solely derived from my experiences with delivery and pizza alone. Mangia is the ONLY pizza place (to my knowledge) that will make you a half/half WHITE and MEAT pizza!!!!!!! Yeah...you read that right!!! I feel quite sure they would probably make any white/whatever pizza you desired! BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!!!!!! I love the white pizza and my fiance loves meat...and the quality and freshness is SUPREME!!! Had an issue with a pizza and Chip, the manager made it right in one phone call. Quality...CHECK! Customer Service...CHECK! Price value...DOUBLE CHECK!!! There's just no need to go to ANY of those '30 minute or less' franchises when you have MANGIA PIZZERIA!!!!!!!

Outstanding food, outstanding service, outstanding delivery, outstanding quality. Everything is right every time. OK, not everything is perfect "every time". However, when there has been an "OOPS" - which has been on a very rare basis they have gone out of their way to make it absolutely perfect. We eat at this place 2-3 times a week and we are a fairly large business group! We always leave happy! And a thumbs up to Chip!

My wife and I tried Mangia for the first time last night. We arrived just before it got really busy. Overall I thought the food was good. I would have added another star if it weren't for the constant running of kids back and forth to the video game area in the back of the restaurant. Parents, please make sure your kids are respectful of others while they are eating. Kids stopping and staring at your food while you trying to eat is annoying. I saw one kid almost run into a server with a tray of food. Can't they sit quietly for a family dinner? Most of the parents seemed totally oblivious to where their kids were or what they were doing.

This is our go-to restaurant for pizza and pasta. My husband always orders the Philly Cheesesteak pizza and I'll either order a custom pizza recipe (eggplant, spinach, tomato) or one of the pastas. We've also ordered the sandwiches (meatball subs, eggplant parmesan sub, etc). The pastas come with delicious garlic rolls. If you want a large pizza, this place will make the largest pie I've ever seen. Their XL pizzas are 18" and my husband and I will make two meals out of them. It's fabulous!

I haven't tried the subs (yet) but the baked ziti sicilian (with mushrooms, beef, eggplant) was amazing! Perfect combination of cheese, pasta, sauce, beef, etc. The pasta was not mushy. None of the sauce was left on the plate. And with the lunch special (including salad and 2 garlic knots) I had a half portion of pasta for later. Perhaps I can convince them to open an ITP location!? If the subs are good, going to bump this one up to a 5 star.

This is a good place to order from if you want a more well-rounded menu for delivery than just pizza and wings or Chinese. They have a full menu with lots of variety. I think their meatballs and marinara sauce are probably the best I've had in a long time. I've had their sandwiches- which are really good. I wasn't that impressed with their fettuccini alfredo- it was sort of bland tasting. Their pizza isn't bad but it's not the best. It is one of the only places that will make a veggie pizza with pesto sauce instead of marinara- and it was pretty good. I've had their friend pickles with mixed success. One time they were too greasy and mushy and another time they were a bit more crispy but still not on par with Hooters or Smoke Jack's...

Mangia has vindicated itself with our family. We were recently at a party and they were serving Mangia's pizza. It was excellent with a nice crust, good red sauce and ample toppings. Since then, we've ordered delivery pizza twice and both times it has been excellent! We're happy to report that Mangia's is now on our "A" list... at least for pizza.

Good menu. Have been here several times after tennis with some of my team members. Food is always good, portions are large and very reasonably priced, and it offers a very good beer selection.

Ordered a take-out pizza from there today circa 545PM. The place had only two customer so I was a little worried. But when the pizza came out and it was shown to me, I was impressed. And when I got home and took a bite, I was impressed more. The pizza crust was light and chewy, just like I like it. The flavors were good. I will add Mangia's to my list of pizza joints to patronize.

Similar to Allessio's, which was in the space before. We had spinach and artichoke dip with pita, Greek salad, and two pasta dishes. The food was good and reasonably priced. I will try their pizza next. They have beer and wine ad well. Neighborhoody, informal Italian food.

I believe the management has changed at this pizza place. It used to be called Alessio's before this. Having moved recently to Alpharetta (Windward), I was looking for an authentic local Italian experience. For some reason my fellow yelpers missed this amazing restaurant. I found this restaurant using google maps. Their Pizzas are amazing with a soft crust. I have tried the Chicken Penne and their vegetarian pizza. There were delicious. I always order takeout, but the atmosphere there is very friendly and casual. I look forward to ordering other items on the menu based on my experience with their pizzas. If you are looking for an authentic Italian pizzeria in the area, nothing beats Mangia. I would highly recommend it..

i just ordered a Large pepperoni with onions and sun dried tomatoes. it was a very good pizza. the onions weren't too crunchy and weren't mushy either, just right. sun dried tomatoes were sweet and had a subtle tartness~ and the crust tasted fresh. right balance of chewiness and crispness =) i always believe that the crust is the most important part of the pizza, followed by the quality of the toppings. this will be my default pizza for delivery place from now on =)

Hands down the closest thing to New York pizza that you will get 25 miles outside of Atlanta! My husband and I are from "up north" and therefore quite picky about our pizza. We moved here 8 years ago and tried many suggested restaurants before finding this gem. Yes, it used to be called Alessio's, but the owner wanted to do something more with this place and make it his own, so he branched out on his own, changed the menu up, and Mangia was born! The New York style pizza is superb - might I suggest ordering it extra crispy/well done if you like a little more firmness to your thin crust. We like to order sliced meatballs on our pizza and it is fantastic! The other family favorite we have is the cheese calzone - oozing with mozzarella and ricotta it is pure indulgence for the cheese lovers in our family! The pasta is also excellent. I would recommend the penne a la vodka. Another thing that I like is that the food is not drowning in garlic, which can happen in some other nearby Italian places. Of course, there are the garlic knots which are fantastic for when you are in the mood. The portions are large, so dessert does not often come into play, but when we can manage room the brownie sundae is out of this world! The atmosphere is casual and very family friendly. There is a small game room, so if you have kids might I suggest you bring a few singles or some quarters. Decent beer and wine selection too and beer is available by the pitcher for sharing. Lunch deals are also great here. They have an express lunch menu that is a great value, and I can get over there on my lunch break from work and have a very filling meal in less than 30 minutes. One other point that I think is important to mention is that Mangia is a big supporter of our local schools. They supplied all of the food for our fifth grade celebration day at a very reasonable cost this past year, and everyone complimented how great it was (and delivered hot and on time!!). In the past they have also sponsored back to school teacher luncheons as well as provided gift cards for different school events. Any business that is so proactive about giving back to our community deserves kudos. Overall a great value for some wonderful food and a very friendly atmosphere. It's a great place for a mom to take kids when dad is out of town, have a team get together or a family dinner. I am also happy to say that they now deliver!! Owner Chip Crawford and his attentive staff will continue to earn my family's business for a long time!

We've been going to Mangia ever since they opened and it is our family's favorite pizza and Italian food joint around. Food is consistent, staff is attentive and the owner is always making sure things are running so you can have a great meal. They also have a great draft beer selection which is often rotated. My last meal was the Chicken Parmigian Stromboli - amazing!

Italian food tucked away in the burbs. My sis kept hearing about this place, and having it be close to home, we decided to go one night. Upon walking up, they have a small patio that you can enjoy outdoor eating (but don't worry, you won't get a special view, except for the dumpster @ McDonald's), and a bunch of booths and tables. We got seated immediately, which was nice- the place was empty when we first got there- but filled up considerably as the meal went on. The waitresses were mostly fresh out of high school, but they were friendly and attentive, which these days can be hard to ask for. There were tv's and plenty of items on the walls to keep me distracted wondering why I came (they call me "family man" for a reason). The menu was large, and everytime I come to an Italian place with a large menu, I get leery; as it is usually quantity over quality... So I decided to live dangerously, and get the buffalo chicken tenders. My sis got some pasta and mom got some pasta as well (two different types). We also got an order of garlic rolls. Those were pretty damn good, in fact I would like to say they were about the same, if not better than Ippolito's (who claim to have "THOSE ROLLS"). That was a plus. When we got the food, I almost was upset with myself for getting the tenders. They were ok at best- and after seeing the pasta my family got, I was getting hungry. At the same time, I guess you can say it's nice to know they have other options for people who are not in the mood for Italian. However, portions were large and they ended up taking 2 boxes home- which I ate the next morning- and let me tell you- that shit was pretty good for leftovers! For a place I didn't even want to come to originally, I found a place close to home that has some decent pasta- I will take it! I would also like to add that the value here is much better than I have seen at other Italian places too, so bring an empty stomach and don't worry about going broke eating dinner! Consider this review a strong 3, closer to 4 stars. *Note to parents- we brought the 4 month old, and he slept through dinner, as it wasn't too loud. *Note to larger people- try to get a table, and not a booth- it was a tight fit for me!

I always go here for pasta and tried the pizza recently. I regret it whole heartedly. It was sooooo over priced for what it tasted like. 20 bucks for a pepperoni. I'll keep going to riverside from now on for pizza. The atmosphere is really nice though and I've never had a not pleasant experience here.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
