best pizza we've had up north in the 'burbs! in fact it comes pretty close to the quality of new jersey pizza my husband grew up with. the restaurant itself not really worth sitting down for as far as atmosphere or decor, but hot damn their pizza is just straight up delicious. our go-to carry out place.

I pass this place at least twice a week nearly every week of the yr. And each time, I think to myself 'I've got to try that place for lunch.' So this week, I made a conscientious effort and am glad I did. What a gem of place, run by people dedicated to providing good pizza, calzones, etc at a fair price. Joes is neat, clean, cozy, and larger than I expected. And when I say 'neat and clean,' I mean from the front door all the way to the back door. I ate at Joes twice this week circa 1PM, a couple days apart. Each day, the place was at least 60% full with a steady foot traffic for carryout. Is it good for groups? Well the tables and chairs aren't nailed to the floor so I'm sure they'll work with you. In summary, when you have a desire for pizza and the like, I highly recommend Joes New York Pizzeria.

Not a bad NY style. It had its weaknesses...end crust was a bit dry, not enough chew. Underskirt had weak/undercooked spots that made the end of the slice flop/impossible to fold and eat. Slice was a decent size. The cheese had nice pull and seemed to be quality. I'm not sure if they are using Grande cheese but it seems like it. Appropriate mix of cheese/sauce. Sauce was decent. While I only got 2 quick slices with no toppings...a quick look at the toppings on others pies seemed quality as well. Worth a stop if you are in the area. On par with something like Fellini's intown...pretty much what to expect. I'll have to go back to try a pie to get a better read. Welcome to Yelp...the new Citisearch!

I kept the chip on my shoulder from the last, ill fated, attempted attempt to try out Joe's New York Pizzeria but when Joe sent me a really nice note inviting me to come back and try it again I was happy to drop the chip. We dropped in last Saturday evening and sat at the bar. We were warmly greeted by everyone who worked the front of house, including Joe who was behind the bar. We ordered garlic knots and the Rustica pizza and enjoyed talking to Joe and Tito. We enjoyed the knots but noted a lack of saltiness that was also reflected in the pizza. The marinara sauce was quite enjoyable and seemed to be fairly complex. However, I like a little more pizza pizazz. We didn't get much zing from the peppers; and the sausage failed to liven things up, leaving us reaching for the pepper flakes jar. This gives people who are afraid of spice a chance to control it, I guess. But we really appreciate a well thought out blend of spices. On the other hand the marinated cherry tomatoes added a nice dimension to the pie. Joe's is an attractive upscale joint with an interesting draft beer selection. The night we were there they were going out of their way to provide friendly and efficient service. Joe is a great person! I am looking forward to my next trip there when I plan to have the Pizza Porco!

Looking for super fresh pizza on your lunch break? This isn't really the spot.... HOWEVER, the pizza, though a little dated, was VERY GOOD. I had the lunch special with 2 slices of white/spinach pizza and it was delectable. Being fresh out the oven would have been the only thing to make this pizza better. The service was great. The two men who assisted me and my friend with out take out order were super nice and very funny. I definitely will come back and sit down to eat a fresh pizza and hopefully get the upgraded experience here. Like I said, I will return. I'm a sucker for inexpensive pizza, especially when it's good. I just want it hot. :) Parking was fine. It was super easy to find from the street and the place felt clean. Hopefully my next experience will bump the star- rating up from 3 to 5.

Went here for the first time as it's hard to pull away from Mama's Pizza as the go-to. Ordered the 12" cheese pizza and a stromboli. While they don't have pasta dishes on the menu - they do offer lasagna. The pizza was thin and NY style as advertised. You can tell the cheese is a high quality. The dough was somewhat crispy - but everyone eating did notice a slight "pretzel" taste on the crust. The Stromboli was standard issue with sausage, pepperoni, green bell peppers and onions. The dough was good - but over all it seemed pretty generic. We had also asked if they could add a little sauce on the inside instead of dipping sauce, but were told there was no way to do that. The service during a Wednesday lunch was splint amongst 3 girls and was terrific. Out drinks were always full and it was the perfect amount of attention on the rotation. Even as the place got lunch busy - they didn't miss a beat.

Used to love this place but have had numerous issues with one particular staff member. was practically kicked out on a Saturday night, we arrived at 840, they close at 9. Girl was so rude and kept rolling her eyes. we felt very unwelcome. This happened AGAIN with a take out! We called at 830 and she once again gave us an attitude saying that they close promptly at nine and we'd need to be there. I love pizza and spent a lot more than I should satisfying my cravings. Unfortunately I will spend my money where I feel welcomed.

We just love this place, it is always good and the atmosphere is nice as well. Joe is usually there with his friendly wait staff and did I mention the craft beer they have there?? Always our go to for good NY style pizza.

Still the best pizza place in town. Whether you want thin NYC style or fluffy Sicilian Joe's is the place to go. I come here about 3 times a week for lunch with my coworkers!

Stop by this pizzeria for lunch, walked in to a nice greeting staff. To a minute to look over the lunch special to decide what I wanted.. So I finally decided to go with the two slices and two toppings deal. It came with a fountain drink for a total of $ 9.08... Waited about 10 minutes and out came my pizza. It looked very good and was just pleasing after having both slices. I will definitely be back but I don't get the drink next too because I really didn't need it. Another great plus about this place was the 97 rating for this establishment!

Our family's favorite pizza joint. I dream about the Chicken Deluxe Pizza with Caramelized onions. Not sure I have ever had a better pizza in my life!

In town on business and found Joes across the street from the hotel. Glad I did. Best pizza I've ever had. You nailed it Joe. We need one in Chicago!!!

Went last night for the first time, as I've driven by it a bunch of times and always wanted to try it. It's a nicely decorated restaurant that isn't overly big. A bar on the left with tables and booths in the right. We ordered garlic knots to start. They were flavorful and the marinara sauce was good. The knots could have used a few more minutes in the oven, but you can tell they were fresh. We also tried their 16 inch cheese pizza and it was good. Perfect amount of cheese, could have used a bit more sauce. They use grande cheese, which is very expensive, so you know they care about quality. Crust was good, but a little on the dry side. Worth a stop for lunch or dinner.

I went to Joe's yesterday, I tried the San Marzano, Pizza Rustica and Eggplant Deluxe. All three were so good. You can tell they use quality ingredients in making their pies. The place has a nice feel to it except for one kitchen staff who yelled at the nice lady while she was taking my order. Good place and good pizza all.

Fantastic pizza and this NYer believes is the closest thing to actual NY-style pizza in the South.

  • Amanda T.

This is some seriously good pizza. I got the 2 slice special. The drink is not worth getting to go, it's about the size of a can. I also got 4 garlic knots. They have very tasty marinara, and the crust was very good. The only thing I didn't like was that the ingredients all fell off when I picked the slice up because they just barely re warm it with toppings. Mellow mushroom does the same, but their ingredients still stay with the cheese. The blobs of ricotta fell all over my desk. This is the only place that I did not like the artichokes. They were crunchy for some reason. Usually it's my favorite topping. Next time I would skip on the slices and just order the full pizza so hopefully the ingredients would be melted in with the cheese.

Horrible customer service. I called about the cardboard that was in our pizza (please see picture) and the manager did not care. I will not come here again and I implore that you do not as well. I do not like foreign objects in my food. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. There are a lot better options around. Try Antico at Avalon. Much better quality and authenticity.

Excellent NY pie! Had a slice of sausage and it was like I was in little Italy. Usually when you just order 1 slice it is not indicative of the quality of the pizza, but this slice was outstanding

If you want some great New York style pizza check this place out. I often meet my girl here for lunch and the specials are fast, quick and affordable. I can't see me going for dinner but it's a great lunch spot for me.

After the spider my husband just found in his salad, the manager shrugged and said "Good thing we changed produce companies!" I can think of better responses.

I enjoyed dinner here. The place has a small town feel and great food. The staff is friendly. They sell alcohol. The food is really good. I like the fact they have nontraditional pizzas.

I strayed away from my usual type of pizza when going here my first time. Typically when I get pizza I go with something a little more traditional. For some reason the Athens Greek pizza was calling my name. I ordered over the phone for take out and pizza was ready when I walked in just 20 minutes after my order, no wait always a plus. I actually really loved the dough of their pizza, one of the better crust I have had, very flavor pie. However, the only thing that is keeping me from giving a 4 star review is the overwhelming ammount of garlic. I enjoy garlic, dontbget me wrong but it over powered everything. I will not blame th restaurant but rather the cook. No worries, I will be back because I truly believe in the dough and sauce, next time I will go with my usual.

  • Dee B.

This was a great Yelp find! The food is probably the best I've had without it being a "chain" restaurant. We went to get some pizza and loved it. Quiet, quaint and off the strip. Casual and just what you need to wind down. Will be back!

This is really good New York style pizza. I was passing through on my way to my hotel and needed some dinner. The staff was very nice and the pizza was quick. I would definitely go back the next time I'm in town.

If you're looking for authentic New York pizza, come to Joe's place. We stopped here one day on our way to Lowe's and have been here many times since. The pizza is awesome! His pizza knots are a must! The environment and atmosphere is perfect for the area, parking is plentiful, and the staff is great. Joe also serves beer, wine, and takeout orders. The great thing is, Joe's actually here most weekends. No fake names here gents, he exists! Not only is he here, he's waiting on customers, wiping down tables, working behind the bar, shaking stuff around in the kitchen, being a REAL owner. That's something I can appreciate and the reason we'll continue to come to Joe's for our pizza kneads.

  • Arty C.

Went there since it opened now on weekend No owner there just 2 little girls who mean Well. The problem is no on to watch the food. The pizza was so full is grease you could not pick it up also the cook went crazy with the spices. What a way to kill a business. Will never go there again that is how restaurants do not last here

Yo! It's good food! My teenager and I ate at Joe's after a glowing recommendation from the service guys at the Ford dealership next door. We both ordered the $8.95 stromboli lunch specials with our choice of ingredients. Both strombolis were cooked perfectly and the marinara sauce is really good, with little chunks of tomatoes and garlic. We also tried the pepperoni wheels - think garlic knots with pepperoni - they tasted great! Service was friendly and efficient - the second waitress was much friendlier than the first one, bathrooms were really clean - our food was served up quick - it was a great lunch!

I was looking for a place with good lunch specials at a reasonable price and I have found it. Pizza is really good and reminds me of the pizza I had when I lived in NYC. I just wish there were more toppings on the pizza. But all in all, a great place with great food.

Forgetabout those oddur joints cause Joe's is the place. Great, no scratch that, awesome handmade NY style pizza that never disappoints. Two different types of sausage! Crumbled or sliced and both are legit. Make sure to ask for some sauce for the pizza bones cause nothing should go to waste. They have a great selection of traditional pies and specialty creations that perfectly balance flavor and creativity. Make sure to try the garlic cheese bread appetizer which is really an handmade artisan pizza crust with fresh garlic, spices and wonderful cheese served with some killer sauce on the side. You will thank me.

First I would like to say that our previous trips to Joe's have always been great. We loved the food and service. Not so much today. We looked forward to having a great pizza, so we drove the 10+ miles to get there. We were going to order the Combination Pizza (sausage, pepperoni, peppers, and onions). Since we don't like onions, we asked if we could substitute jalapeños. Our server said "no substitutions", but offered to leave the onions off and put jalapeños on for an additional $1.95. We said no thanks and just ordered a pie with sausage and jalapeños. When it came we immediately noticed the cheese was very skimpy, and the crust was overcooked. It tasted like a thin dry cracker crust. Not once did either the server or manager come by to ask if our food was O.K. Even though the place was empty. We paid the bill and left. Not sure if we will be back.

I got the lunch special. Two slices with two toppings and a drink. It was like seven bucks total. It was surprisingly really good pizza and the service was awesome. I definitely will be back.

TAKE MY MONEY. All of it. Best pizza I've had in memory. I will NEVER order from a chain delivery place again. I do wish yall delivered, but I understand why you don't need to! :)

As a former New Yorker living in Atlanta who owned a pizza restaurant I'm always trying new places. This place has a great atmosphere... Not too big, not too small. The bar area is very nice and it looked like they have a good selection of beer. We had the pizza knots and they were good despite being slightly under cooked. My wife had a specialty pizza and had ample toppings that were fresh and tasty. My brother and I split a 16" cheese pizza. It was a little lite on the sauce but they use Grande Cheese which anyone who's been in the business knows Grande is the best.... But it's expensive. I'm a big believer in the NY water makes the best crust which is why I imported the water in my restaurant. Joe's crust was ok, a little dry and bland for my taste but was fluffy and light at the same time. While it's not the best I've had, for Georgia it's really good pizza. If you're in the area it's worth passing all the chains to give Joe's a try.

Very good pizza joint. Started off with a Caesar salad. Pretty good. Fresh with just enough dressing. We ordered the Rustica pie which was delicious. Favorite topping was the balsamic vinegar infused tomatoes. Very unique and added a very fresh taste to the pizza. Will be back!

Far and away the best pizza in the Roswell/Alpharetta area. I go out of my way to pick up from here. It's a little bit pricier than some other local places, but completely worth it. High quality ingredients.

  • Bill T.

This is the tastiest pizza I have found in metro Atlanta. Just right crispness on the crust, quality ingredients and very friendly service. You get delicious food at a very reasonable price in a relaxing and clean atmosphere. The pizza knots are delicious, and the swami tress remembered us on our second visit a few weeks after our first visit. The quality and service were not a fluke, as it was consistently great on both visits.

We finally found a pizza place we love! The cheese bread is the best we have ever had. The pizza is delicious! Nice place for a date or to take the family. The staff have excellent service skills.

Had the rustica pizza and a sausage and ricotta custom. Both were brimming with flavor. Was concerned that the marinated cherry tomatoes would make fir a soggy mess but this was not the case at all. Loved the crust, too!

Great service and fantastic pizza! We get food to go about 2 times a month and have never had a bad experience. My wife always gets a cheese or pepperoni and I LOVE the eggplant deluxe. Get the garlic knots too Best I've had outside of Long Island. Good rotating beer and wine selection if you dine in.

Terrible customer service The staff are not friendly which makes for an unhappy and uncomfortable space. Who wants to eat in an environment like that. If it wasn't for the good food I would give it a one. Pizza pretty decent. Too many other choices for restaurants these days where you can dine in pleasant surroundings.

This is hands down my favorite pizza place in OTP Atlanta (honestly, it might be all of Atlanta, but there are some pizza joints ITPers fawn over that I haven't tried so maybe that's not a fair assessment yet). If you know anything about a real New York pizza, you'll know right away that this is one of the closest reproductions in the entire Atlanta area. The staff here is excellent - always friendly, always happy. The pizza is perfectly cheesy, perfectly thin, and perfectly delicious! To the reviewer who complained about their pizza toppings on the top of the pizza instead of under the cheese....I have no idea where you're getting pizza from that that's the norm. I grew up a half hour from NYC and never knew a pizza that didn't put toppings on the top! Anyway - this style might not be for everyone. But for me, this pizza reminds me most of home, and I'm stoked that after years of searching for a pizza that meets my expectations, I'm glad to say I don't have to look any further!!

We frequent Joe's as often as possible. In my opinion, the best pizza in Atlanta. Better than Antico, hands down! The crust is perfect (never soggy) and the white pizza is like a little slice of heaven. Friendly staff and owner and a great place to take the family.

Quiet Tuesday evening in Alpharetta, and the hubs and I were craving a little comfort food before a long day of travel back home. We picked this little place based off of the reviews, and boy, were we happy we found it! The place has clean lines and feels like a laid-back combination of wood and calm, dark shades. We settled, after a bit, on a small salad to share (as the waitress pointed out to us, the small salad was the same size as the basket on the table) and a 16" pizza because, after all, the pizza was New York style, right? Well, the 16" pizza turned out to be close to 18" of deliciousness. Minor miscalculation on our part, and when they said 3-4 people, they meant 3-4 people. The two of us finished just over half the pie with the salad, so it was probably a pretty good estimate for non-adolescents. (Side note: male adolescents, as you well know, have a hunger coefficient of at least 1.7, if not 2, of the average adult female.) We managed to cram the leftovers into the mini-fridge at our hotel and ate the rest for lunch the next day. Still tasty! Attentive but not overbearing service, and we saw a couple of families with older kids stop by for a quick meal before heading home. Great find!

My hubby and I try to come to Joe's once per week! I am addicted to their pizza. Love the nice, thin crust and great cheese to sauce ratio. Pizza is my favorite food and Joe's doesn't disappoint! Looking forward to bringing my fellow New Yorkers to Joe's to share the experience.

We picked up a large cheese pizza, kind of soggy but good on the re-heat. Quality cheese, sauce and crust - would order again. Hard to gage when they are open, the lighted sign not very visable when driving by.

I have been eating pizza here almost once a week and I have to say it may be the best pizza in the area. Service is always friendly and quick and my family has joined me for dinner here a number of times.

Well ok here goes.....soo my boss took myself and a co-worker to lunch here, said it was fabulouso'....umm not so much! He does not have good taste in dining...*snicker* but when you are the one being treated you don't usually complain:-) We arrived about 12:15, seated ourselves, were promptly greeted and our waitress was nice. Both guys ordered Calzones ( I don't do those) I had a side Ceasar, no croutons, two slices of pizza...one with green/black olives, tomatoes, pesto, fresh basil and cheese, the other slice had sausage crumbled, onions and cheese. Soo can't mess that up right? Well ......... maybe it was me but I am accustomed to my cheese covering the top of the items not underneath or just underneath the toppings and practically invisible?!?! I did not order extra cheese because I usually don't but, I had to have my slices sent back and have cheese added .... The ingredients looked funny just laying atop my slices...I was not diggin this at all:-( The waitress did oblige but gave me a funny look? I thought, hhmm should I now be worried, sending stuff back is kind of a no-no, BUT ones order should be as they like it, thats why we are the patrons! I had lemon water to drink. So slices return to our table looking more appetizing than before. The overall taste was pretty good....Joe's doesn't have a great variety of toppings and I am not sure I would return because I know of better pizzeria's.... It wasn't terrible,....just not up to my style pizza tastes and I LOVE variety toppings with loads of sauce options etc....... Try em and see for yourself ..

  • Robert H.

This place has some pretty decent pizza. The toppings and sauce are great but their dough needs some major improvements. The dough is not only lacking in flavor, it has no crispness to it at all. It leaves the pizza with a soggy-like feel. Other than that everything else about the pizza is good.

I love this place! I am very picky when it comes to pizza but when a couple of people recommended it I finally walked over and tried it. My business is very close to this place so I do stop by to satisfy my pizza craving. Service is always great and of course the food is delicious :-) I will keep coming to this place.
