If I lived in the neighborhood this is the kind of place which could easily become the regular spot. It's "comfortable". Nothing pretentious but not your typical strip mall Tavern either. Good menu options, decent specials, price is just slightly on the high side for what it is...perhaps justified by the lack of stale beer aroma and no sticky floor...and the crowd being 40's and up. The other afternoon they had a Hot 'n' Sour soup , Fried Oysters, and Corned Beef Hash as specials. Tried them all and surprisingly it was the entree (corned beef hash which was small in its portion size, but the food was generally good. Burgers are also good. Haven't tried much else on the menu but in will do so in time. Service was fine.

Walked in at 2:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday and sat at the bar. The bartender did not even bother to look in our direction so we waited a few minutes and after watching her on her phone typing away we got up and walked out. No Hello no goodbye, nothing! If you are looking for service look elsewhere.

Top Notch!!! Every time I go there it's the same, perfect! Tavern food at its best! By far better than the other restaurants in the area! Tonight no different! We had a great time tonight and the service matched the food! Keep doing it!!!

Went here on a business meeting with a customer that lives around the corner. He said the food was consistent, so I figured what the hell. He ordered the fried grilled wings to start, he recommended the Yellowtail sandwich and we split a grouper po'boy. He also recommended a side salad with miso dressing. As for the fried grilled wings, I have now found my new favorite way to have those greasy morsels. Fry, add sauce, then grill to get rid of the excess grease. Whoever thought of that needs the Nobel Peace prize. Good stuff, and I have never seen another joint do them in this delectable fashion. As promised the Yellowfin sandwich was cooked perfectly and fantastic. Grouper was fine, nothing special. 3 stars for the decent quality bar food, an extra star for putting those wings on the grill. Service is great, no complaints there either.

I went to the bar for dinner one night solo, so I grabbed a seat at the bar. The atmosphere felt like a bunch of local regulars. Everyone was friendly, especially the staff, but on the night I went, it was trending older (50s & 60s if I had to guess). I really just wanted to check the place out, so I ordered a couple of Hoffman Red Hots from Buffalo and had a diet Coke. The food came fast, the dogs were good, the fries were frozen, but they tasted OK. I will have to come back and dive into the menu a little more to give a more complete review, but it is what I expected.

Pricey but tasty. I had the Asian Chicken Salad, which was just the right amount of sweet and tart, but had WAY too much feta, and the chicken was not cut into normal size pieces. My wife had the grilled chicken, which she really liked. The service was friendly, although they could have done a better job of keeping our glasses filled. Big downside was the tiny booth we were in. My wife and I are fairly small people but we were still squished in the seat.

My family picked Crabapple Tavern for dinner after a funeral, so dinner could have really sucked if the folks and food here weren't so darn good. I picked a little off of everyone's plates, and can speak for the fried raviolis and sweet potato fries. Our server was great; super friendly and took good care of us without smothering us. My mom made sure to let me know that she approved of his looks, too ;) A few of my cousins are regulars here, and they speak very highly of the nightlife at the bar. I'm not saying "honkey tonk," but it sounds like a good time.

Our favorite neighborhood watering hole! Crab Tavern is the quintessential Cheers local gathering place. Food is superb! Staff and owners treat you like family. Perfect balance of bar life for the adults and family atmosphere when you have the kiddies.

Great neighborhood gem. My wife and I sat at the bar and order their blue cheese chips and a burger. Generous portions. Burger was cooked perfectly. Good selection of beers on tap.

One of the best restaurants I have been to for a few reasons. Love their chicken salad and the fact that they have craft beer on tap! Wait staff is awesome as well.

My favorite restaurant for SO many reasons!! Number one-the food. I have worked my way through the menu and everything is worth coming back for. My special fave is their burger: fresh meat cooked the way you want it, juicy, cheesy perfection. They have salads, main dishes and another fave on the appetizer menu, home made potato chips with blue cheese dressing. The prices are really good so you can keep coming back. Number two-on Saturday and Sunday they have screw drivers, Mimosas, and bloody Mary's for $3.50 each. They make the the best Bloody Mary's in town! Number three-the service is perfect. A well trained and friendly staff. They remember you and what you like and treat you like a good friend. And last but not least, a REALLY friendly dog patio with fans, trees, umbrellas, and they welcome dogs. Even bring them water. So, you can see why I chose it for my 60th Birthday party with eleven other Crabapple Tavern Fans! Try it-you'll be back for more. So

The best kept secret in Crabapple. The Tavern which is at the convergence of 3 cities (Roswell, Alpharetta & Milton) and not far from the Fulton/Cherokee county line is a favorite of the locals. You will find good food, great family atmosphere and occasional entertainment. The bar is friendly and welcoming and even has it's regulars - think "Cheers!"

Since we moved into this area 6 years ago we have been coming here for great lunches and dinners. They then started serving brunch and we have enjoyed them also. I have always loved the fish tacos, but everything else is wonderful also. From their list of comfort foods such as chicken pot pie and meatloaf to their wonderful salads I have loved it all. The servers are always friendly and extremely helpful. Always greeting us with a smile. This is a great place to just meet for a drink and have apps, take the family, or even celebrate a birthday. They recently helped us accommodate a party for 12 and it went very smoothly. Will keep going back.

Unimpressive service for sure. Refills took forever and required repeated requests. I also had to ask twice for tartar sauce since they kept forgetting. The shrimp was excellent and my wife enjoyed her hummus. But the prices are too expensive for what you're getting, especially in light of the service (multiple people -- not just the waitress). The decor is nice, cozy, and roomy. I doubt we'll be back as there wasn't anything we can't get elsewhere for better price and service.

Tonight we stopped by the Crabapple Tavern for dinner. I enjoyed the Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon with wasabi mashed potatoes and gingered carrots. The glaze was just enough without being over powering. I could still taste the fresh flavor of the grilled salmon and the wasabi mashed potatoes were a nice accompaniment, again without being too over-the-top spicy. The gingered carrots were perfectly prepared. Not mushy and had a nice firm texture. My husband went for the Fish and Chips and was satisfied with the portion size of two lightly batter fillets. The fish was fresh and the fries were crispy on the outside and well seasoned. Hannah our server was attentive and pleasant.

I was only here for a quick, late dinner. I loved the atmosphere, dark woods and stone. The bartender was attentive without being overly so. I had the fried fish plate and it was awesome. The fish was flaky and it had the perfect amount of batter. There were several items on the menu that looked good, so I will definitely have to go back. They had a good choice of beers, many of which were on tap. I didn't go into the restaurant part of the building, but I really liked the bar area.

Love this place. Great casual neighborhood place. Seriously.... Try the meatloaf and mashed taters and gravy. Fantastic family restaurant. Taylor was our server, and she's super attentive and very sweet. Flank steak also rocks!

Went for lunch. I had the greek salad and my wife had the chicken salad with slaw. For dessert we shared a slice of coconut-cheese-cake. I was very pleased with the greek salad with Gyro meat (very fresh and excellent ingredients) and my wife said it was the best chicken salad she had ever gotten in a restaurant. The cheese cake was excellent. A great combination that we had never tried before and were very happy we'd decided to try it. Service excellent, friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. Very clean. Nice decor. Comfortable seating. Roomy with good choices for tables or booths. Not a long wait at all and it was obvious that all the food was very fresh and none pre-made and re-warmed. The only negative I could mention was that there was not an extremely expansive selection of beers available. It wasn't terribly sparse, just smaller than I would have expected for a true tavern. Similar to what I might expect to find in a pizza restaurant. All in all, it was an excellent lunch experience and we will certainly be going back to try their other dishes. Highly recommended.

Stopped in dinner. Tried the calamari for an appetizer - the sauce was good and they were cooked properly. We had a prime rib special which was good - they season their's with rosemary - a little different, but tasty. The blue plate of meatloaf also tasted good. Only nit was that the wait staff, although friendly, didn't do all the standard items. For example, there were specials on a board up front, which we missed - she didn't go over them. We had to ask what they were.

This is a very simple good place to eat. The menu is full of great food and the laid back atmosphere is great for families with kids. The servers are quick and very pleasant. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality of food they are serving. I recommend the Homemade potato chips with melted bleu cheese, and the Gulf Shrimp served over grits with a red pepper cream sauce. Good stuff.

Went to Crabapple Tavern for the first time to have lunch after eating at their sister restaurant - Union Hill Grill. The food was very good and the service was excellent. I'm looking forward to going back again for dinner. It was a pleasant relief from all of the chain restaurants in the area.

Every Sunday for the past year I find myself going here for brunch or lunch. The food is great (I love the Cuban, Reuben, and Chicken Quesadilla). They really have put together a great menu and always seem to have a great crowd. Be advised, I have only been there during the day hours, and is usually filled with older clientele for that time frame. I can only imagine what the nightlife is like. Their servers are in tune and pretty reliable, I have yet to have a bad experience in there and I can't say that for most places. I recommend Crabapple Tavern if you have not tried them. You will be impressed with their authentic dishes, quiet ambiance, and thorough service.

When you're in the Alpharetta/Roswell area and you want some good food and even better cocktails, stop at the Crabapple Tavern. I'm surprised I'm the first reviewer, maybe they don't Yelp in Georgia? Whatever your reason for stopping by, get their hot apple crisp...it's crazy good. The peel-n-eat shrimp are pretty tasty and the "San Diego Style" fish tacos are OK but hey, I live in San Diego and I say they aren't like what you can get here. The ambience is nice and they have bands playing on the weekends (at least during the summer while I'm there) but sit in the bar, that's where all the fun happens. Plus, you can see and hear the band better and watch all the drunk housewives from the adjacent subdivision. AND, they have a really adorable bartender that works on the weekends. Have him make you a Washington Apple shot, they're liquid crack. If the Tavern is closed and you're hungry, you can always stop off at Waffle House in the same strip mall!

Love the wings. Good burgers. Hoffman hots are a nice change of pace. San Diego tacos good if you are not demanding "authentic" American. Wings only true standout, but good from top to bottom.

Are you a New Yorker who has difficulty adjusting to the climate and pizza down here. Are you troubled by the mosquito and mushy southern green beans? Do you want your taxes raised to pay for more snow plows. Let me help you find a little crutch to use in you Darwinian adjustment to the south. They have Hoffman Red Hots from Buffalo at the Crabapple Tavern. This is the mild Hoffman Reds, not the white Coney's or Snappers. Flat grilling brings out a marvelous taste in these dogs. Of course, I am no real expert; but my New Jersey girlfriend has taught me the secrets of the Windmill dog from the Jersey shore and I think I get it. These dogs compare favorably to those that we get shipped to our condo packed in dry ice from the north country. And they serve them on toasted bread any way you want them (catchup on the side of course). Crabapple Tavern is a great little spot although hard to find. It is behind the Waffle House. But that does not mean that it is not crowded on weekends!

I want to say this is quite possibly the greatest find I have made so far in my Yelping career. Heres the deal. I teach guitar lessons across the street, and from afar you have no clue what the food and atmosphere is like at this place. Now around the studio Im at during the day, I have an Alpine Bakery, McDonalds, Pizza Vito, and that pretty much sums it up if I dont want to drive far. So after polling the parents of my students I decided that I should take it upon myself to come here. To start the place is low key, and cozy. It really is a place I would want to come, have a few beers, grab some delicious food and spend a few hours with friends. The only complaint I have is that the Caeser Salad I had to start was pretty dry, and that was easily fixed by Jenna, the awesome bartender. The bar was just about full, and everyone seemed to know everyone there, a good sign to me. After the salad I had a nice bacon cheese burger with provolone cheese! I have a small affection for provolone. The fries could have had more of a seasoning then just salt, but its something that wont affect me heavily. Based on all of this, you bet I found a new spot to work on my alcoholism at. God help me. Ill be back.

Have not been in a while but when I did go it was pretty good. Tucked away in Crabapple behind waffle house and Mcdonalds this is a decent place to have a drink and eat dinner. There was usually live music on the weekends which was hit or miss the problem with live music and places the size of the Crabapple Tavern is that it is LOUD!

This place is in our "after work happy hour"" rotation. It's a good neighborhood bar with a pretty nice waitstaff. My group from work goes regularly so we get to know the workers and get pretty good service. The drink prices are very reasonable. Clientele trends older, but that's what dominates this part of town. Don't come here expecting any wild parties. The food is your standard pub fare. It's not going to win any awards, but you won't leave disappointed either. If the sandwiches, the French dip and Philly cheese steak are tasty. The entrees are worth a try to, particularly the chicken pot pie and meatloaf (when they have it).

We recently moved to the area and this place definitely stood out to us. The service and people there are so friendly. From the staff to the other customers...this place gives you that nice neighborhood feel. The food was okay (had the fried pickles, buffalo chicken sandwich and burger), but the people are what would make us go back.

Dear Crabapple Tavern. On another yelpers suggestion we met friends of ours here while on vacation. See I was craving a good Bloody Mary & you happen to have $3.50 ones on Sunday's. And they are just dandy. Not cheapy bottled mix for sure. I can't speak for the food but I can speak for the service (very good) and the 4 bloody Mary's (sorrynotsorry)

Great food I ordered the shrimp poor boy sandwich and the shrimp were the biggest shrimp I have ever seen on a poor boy sandwich really fresh tasting the service was great I recommend this place to anyone .

Usually good, but service was fair. Server acted like she was on auto-pilot. Sat in noisy bar, due to full dining room. Had to ask for specials & wine list. Odd not to be given this in bar area. Ordered tavern salad. Lettuce a bit warm & wilted. Shrimp dinner better & son's burger ok. Nothing spectacular & maybe if sever showed some enthusiasm, I could rate higher.

Have not been here since the remodeling...looks 100% better. However...the menu has done a total turn around. It is obvious they are finally catering to the "Crabapple" crowd. Fancy menu and outrageous prices for tasteless food. My french dip was $13! The meat was way too pink and tasteless. The Au jus was bitter and burned. The hubby got a blue cheese burger and fries for $14! Was over cooked and the blue cheese was brown on top b/c it was burned. The fries were so slender that there was no potato when cooked...they were just fried crispy strings. The only good thing we ordered was the coleslaw and pickles. Very disappointed. Waitress could have cared less that we were unsatisfied. We told her! Regular entrees are anywhere from $15-20. Keep in mind....just b/c you change your menu and use upscale dishes with delicious descriptions does not mean you can pull it off. Speaking of descriptions...if anyone had seen their other menu you will appreciate this...they actually put on thier new menu that they add Cheese Whiz on their Philly Cheese Steak. Some habits are hard to break.

Had lunch today at the Crabapple Tavern. Service: really good ,drinks were always full, came by enough to check on us without being annoying . Actually cared about the customer . Food : had the burger ( med cooked) with Colby Jack and side of broccoli . Start with broccoli , steam just right, not chewy not to hard. Put some hot sauce on them to help ease the healthiness. Burger was cooked just right with great flavor. Not sure if they are made in house but pretty darn good . My wife had the chicken salad sand which , she said it was one of the best she has had. She had potato salad on the side, I'm not a fan of it to begin with . She said it too was really good . Overall I would recommend the place and will be back ... Oh yea. Bathroom( men's) was spotless , my wife even said that the pictures on the wall have no dust on them. Pretty impressive. Looked like a great spot for kids for lunch as well. Not sure about later on .., Didn't hit the bar as I was at work , but it looked really nice , big and lots of bourbon.

Close to our new home in Roswell, we have quickly become regulars at this gem. The menu is full of mouthwatering selections. I recommend the calamari, it's the bomb. Not greasy, crunchy crust and generous portion for $9. No tentacles either, just ringlets. For entrees my wife had the ahi tuna salad and I went with the shrimp and grits. Both were fantastic with plenty for take-home leftovers. The shrimp and grits contained ample shrimp and andouille sausage slices over creamy cheese grits. The flavors of each ingredient did not over-ride the others. It was spicy but in a gentle way. We ate on the patio and had excellent service but the flying insects of the season made us wish we were inside. On previous visits I've had the hamburger and the fish and chips - both were outstanding. Give this place a try if you're in the Crabapple area.

Wife and I decide to go here for a date night while we were in town visiting family. The was no wait on a Friday night, but also 3rd of July so many people may have been out watching firework displays. The restaurant and menu reminded me of a pub in England and Ireland, not an extensive menu, but something for everyone. I ordered the fish and chips and my wife got the chicken pot pie. Our food arrived surprisingly quick and we were glad we hadn't ordered an appetizer or else we would have had everything at one time. The fish and chips were EXCELLENT! I will have to say the closest to authentic that I have had in the U.S. I would definitely come back again.

It is a nice spot if you live in the neighborhood. We have been there a couple of times. Food and service are ok. Nothing to yelp about and nothing to complain about either. Fish and chips are ok, and so is their burger and taco... a bit on the bland side though.

This is a great spot that me and my husband love to go on our date nights to. We have had almost everything on the regular menu, brunch menu, and cocktails list. We absolutely love the fried pickles with the dipping sauce and the barbecue chicken nachos for our starters. The candid pecan goat cheese salad is our favorite salad we have had anywhere!! (Can definitely feed 2). We both have really enjoyed the Buffalo chicken sandwhich, Philly cheesesteak with fries, and french dip. All are great quality! We have also enjoyed many of their specials. My personal favorite drink they have is their Georgia peach (I think it's called). You will see it on their cocktail list. So good! Don't forget about their brunch. We go on Sundays and get 1/2 off bloodymarys, mimosas, or screwdrivers. Bar staff is really friendly and make a great drink! They use the zingzang tomato juice which makes a killer bloody mary. Every breakfast item is very delicious! Last but not least, the owner Rick, is the nicest man out there. Very personable. Knows his clientele. He will come out and meet and greet, but you'll also see him helping the team create great customer service. (Which we always have great service). I have brought friends and family here and have never been let down! Great restaurant! Definitely try it!

Super service - bartenders are great! Awesome pick for aprés golf (or late night munchies - food served until 10 weekdays, 11 weekends)! Open about 1-2 hours after food service, depending on the crowd. Live music on wed & sat. And the food? It's good!!
