This place is amazing. Go in and give them your business! Try the pork virmaceli or the chicken and rice dish. The staff is ultra friendly and helpful to explain everything if you've never had this before. Don't let this unique place go out of business, Albany!

Great price, love the seafood pho, spring rolls, egg rolls and coconut bubble drinks! This is a decent restaurant that has me coming back for their spring rolls and egg rolls. Service is decent, but I noticed there was only one waitress each time I visited. If you like seafood, try the seafood pho.

Went in for first time on May 13 2015 at 1:10 . I walked out at 1:30 pm without having been served a glass of water or my order taken . Waitress was too busy getting to-go orders ready and I had had enough. Love Vietnamese food but I'm not going to eat there .

This place is awesome! Friendly staff, large menu, clean place, good prices. I had the banh mi and pho and both were sizeable portions and maybe the best I have ever had! They also have smoothies here :)

I could not believe I found this in Albany. Really great & friendly staff. I'm hoping Albany will give these folks their biz so they can stay around! Go in and ask questions and get recommendations and enjoy. Pho (chicken) was good, bun was fantastic (we tried shrimp, and pork) and chicken with rice was also fantastic.

Came through Albany on my way to Florida. Food, I give it 3 out of 5. Portion was average, taste very mild compare to other places I've been. Veggies were so so. We ordered a shrimp roll because my wife does not eat pork or beef. And looks like they just pulled the pork out. Service, 2 out of 5 mainly because the sever only came by once after we ordered and delivering the food. She was not personable and took forever to order. Reason for 2 overall star is because as I was paying for our meal I saw a roach crawling around the area. When pointed out, she just shrugged her shoulders and didn't even care. I pointed out to her couple of times stating. "There is a roach!" That being said, never would I Goto this place.

Usually when I go in, the new owners are really sweet but they seemed off today. I grew up eating at Vietnamese restaurants my whole life but my friend and I went today and the portion size is ridiculously small ... Like we hysterically laughed to ourselves bc this is unreal like the meat is smaller than my palm and I'm a small person and my friend is really big. Eating the portion size of a small child. I'm so upset this is why we never go here anymore so if you're looking to go here don't . Like don't ...... It's not authentic at all just "similar" tasting.

I am utterly confused. I'm not even sure what to write and how to describe this place because it muddled my mind. I walked in on a Friday night and the place was near empty. There were two groups here. A middle-aged white couple sitting in a booth to the left as we walked in and they had a spread of food out on their table. It looked good. Then there was the Vietnamese family sitting together at a larger table in the center of the room enjoying a meal together. I was perplexed, because I felt like there should be more people here. My first question to myself: Why aren't there more people here? My family sat down in a booth along the back wall and my wife was interested in the little shrine near the hallway to the bathrooms. She took a picture of it. It looked like a Buddhist shrine and it was very curious. Things only got more confusing for me. The waitress finally brought us a couple of menus and there was way too much for me to process in a short time. Things were anglicized and described over several pages and there were multitudes of options everywhere. Tripe and Bible-this and that and chicken and seafood options all under generic rice, noodle, appetizer, descriptions. I had no idea what to order. I was just baffled. There was no way I could figure it out so when I finally ordered I took a pick and it happened to be the same thing my wife chose, so I chose something else real fast under the noodle section. I honestly think I made a mistake. First, let me say the service was kind of sub-par. The drinks weren't really filled in a timely manner which wasn't very acceptable considering we had 3 parties in the restaurant, max, at any time. The food didn't come out in proper order. I don't even know what I ordered, but my appetizer showed up with my entree and all of that arrived after my wife's order. My wife's food looked really good and I wish I had stuck with my original pick. It looked like beef tips with peppers and a side of rice and it was succulent. It was nicely plated and the food was very good. The piece of beef my wife offered to me was delicious and fell apart in my mouth. Everything about her dish was nice. It was plated well and the food was well cooked. I was jealous at the end. The kids shared a chicken wing plate with fries. We chose the lemon pepper flavor because my stepson doesn't really eat anything hot. I can agree with him when I say they were not good. They bathed those wings in lemon pepper. It was overwhelming. So much so that I had to dip them in my broth to wash some of it off, because it was salty. My food arrived and the final confusion set in for me. I had a bowl of soup with beef in it and white noodles. There was a side plate brought with a fresh herb and sliced, plain jalapenos and a couple of lime wedges. What in the world was I supposed to do with this? I honestly had no clue and no instruction was offered. I sat and stared at my plate. The shrimp spring rolls were brought also with a bare amount of sauce. It was hot and tasty I suppose, but the sauce was kind of bland and not really paired well. The soup was edible, but the herbs and jalapenos did nothing for it. At one point I got a couple of raw jalapeno seeds that made me cough a few times and decided to remove the side plate item from the soup. I wasn't sure if I needed to approach the gigantic bowl with a soup ladle or chopsticks. I started with the spoon and then went to chopsticks. I eventually put some sriracha and soy sauce in the broth, because it was bland to me. I felt mild disappointment eating it, but it was overall okay I suppose. I had remorse over not choosing my first option. Overall, the service wasn't great and everything confused me. The food was generally good or excellent, but the wings were a real disappointment with the seasoning. The plating and everything looked nice and I would return, but I would have to try to find a safer bet (I would not get a noodle anything if I came back). I would say the place is worth a try if you're interested in Vietnamese food.

If you love Vietnamese food and pho this is definitely a restaurant you should consider. I always stick to the pho and leave out the tripe. The egg rolls with fish sauce are the best egg rolls I've ever had. Service could be better though. There's large pho portions but small entree portions. Boba drinks are awesome!!

First time ever eating here. The people were very nice and the Pho was yummy! A small bowl was a very big portion and lots of meat. I also had 2 combination plates the were ok I just didn't like the pressed patties of meat. I would recommend this place to friends. Not great but good!

FINALLY!!! an experience in albany that has me speechless - i am thrilled that I decided to go outside our normal family box and take my wife and kids here - this place was amazing and was a great experience for my family - the kids were very sceptical and almost terrified at first but now can't wait to go back - we started out with an order of pork spring rolls and shrimp spring rolls (both were fantastic) - i had the large bowl of pho and I think my daughter had pork bun, the wife had the deluxe seafood combo with noodles and my son had pho as well - and we all loved it!!! - with it being all of their first Vietnamese experience we all shared and tasted each other's food - I'm sure the staff and other customers had a good chuckle at us but it just added to our experience - if you are in albany and are not afraid to try something new and different that will make your taste buds pop out of your mouth then give viet pho a visit - you will not be sorry you did

They've added cilantro! Great Pho! Sandwiches were a little small in size and variety but the Pho is great.

I believe this is the ONLY pho place in all of Albany! I was so happy to see that they were open when I came to visit my mother in law last December. My son, who is a very picky eater, wanted to eat only pho. In Atlanta, it was so easy, because there are many places to go, but I was so scared, because there wasn't anywhere in Albany until one of my mother-in-law's beautiful co-worker told me about this place. Viet Pho literally saved my son from starving! hahaha! On to the food. The pho was good. Definitely different from the one's back home in Hawaii, but still good. My mother in law also enjoyed it a lot. The spring rolls were not that great. We will be back again when we come to visit!

Some updates to the menu (Vietnamese sandwiches and pan fried noodles) since my last visit. So glad we have them in Albany. Ordered a large combo Pho, Seafood Pan Fried Noodles and the Bbq Pork and Shrimp Spring Rolls. Ordered as take out. Everything was top notch, one of the best restaurants overall in Albany. Note that the Combo Pho has tripe and such, but other combos available for the less adventurous. Trying the sandwiches next time. Nothing like Pho on cold day...

I was actually impressed by the food, but the atmosphere could use a little help. The seafood platter (can't remember the name) it was really good.

We have been to this place several times. Since we have never had Vietnamese food, it took some time for us to get used to the menu. But we figured out several good dishes. We really enjoy the shrimp spring rolls for apetizer. My daughter loves the pho and goes there frequently for take out pho. The food is not prepared with a lot of spice, but there are several condiments you can add to spice things up. All of the food is very fresh and made to order. The prices are very reasonable for the food that you get. It is not a fancy resturant, but is nice enjoyable place to go for good food. We really enjoy this place.

This is one of Albany's 2 best restaurants in my estimation, and I believe I have tried most of them, as my waistline will attest, and the other one is overpriced! The food is fantastic with new and exciting flavors; extra spice is served on the side for those who prefer something more piquant! The service staff is warm and attentive. Portions are large, so come hungry!

Located on North Westover Blvd in a small plaza, this place is definitely the real deal. I walked in here this afternoon after having a strong craving for some Pho. It's been about a year since the last time I had some. The lady at the counter promptly rung me up and within minutes I received my food. My meal consisted of the Pho medium rare steak noodle soup at the price of $7.95 and a set of egg rolls (2 rolls) for appetizers at the price of $3.00. The amount of noodles that they give you is insane. They tasted well. The medium rare steak was perfect, and the egg rolls were superb. The broth was delicious. This is definitely the place to go for some Pho. With the exception of Chinese food, Albany is limited with the amount of Asian restaurants throughout the city. Don't take this fine establishment for granted; give it a try if you're into authentic Asian cuisine and Pho in particular. I will update this review after I try more items on their menu.
