I've had good and bad experiences here. The service here has been downright awful before. Some of the staff are rude and I think it stems from management. On the other hand the food here can be excellent. The sushi has been very delicious before, but I still prefer Shogun. I really like their hibachi though. I've had their filet mignon a couple of times and the chef / artist always prepares it very well. I can't say that I've ever had a bad meal at this location, but the staff has left me averse to actually going here. It might be why they constantly have a "hiring servers" sign out in front of their building.

I have been here previously for hibachi as well as the sushi buffet a few times, and on past experiences has been pretty good. This instance was also pretty awesome as well. I arrived with 3 friends and we ordered the all you can eat sushi buffet which is $15. This includes miso soup, ginger salad, and of course the sushi buffet!! The miso soup was alright, pretty standard for miso soup, really but quite tasty. The ginger salad was good, but I do wish they had not drowned my salad with dressing as a little bit goes a long way with dressing. The sushi buffet entailed of a variety of rolls, from your standard California roll, to crab roll, they also had this flash fried roll with this slightly spicy sauce which was incredible. They also had veggie rolls, and a variety of sashimi... this was all delicious. Honestly, for what you pay for, this deal can't get any better as you can have your fill of sushi until your belly explodes.... honestly I wish they went the way of the Romans so the can install a vomitorium so you can enjoy even more sushi!! I will come back!!!

The food is good, but the service isn't much to brag about at all! Our party was seated, but we had to wait an hour before the chef even came to our table and it was difficult to get refills! The manager apologized and offered 1 free beer. No thanks! A slight discount off of our $100 bill would have been nice!

Love the food and a big fan of the shrimp tempura. Again, great food but it isn't cheap

Pretty good food. I've had better sushi, but theirs will suffice. Grill section food is tasty, but no different than any other Japanese Steakhouse. The dish they stand out with is probably their chicken wings. Not a ton of meat on them, but very flavorful and tasty. Service is good, prices are average. Overall, an OK place to go.

Great sushi and hibachi... Wayyyy better than mikatas..

If you don't like Mikata or Shogun, check out Tokyo. They have the full experience of a Japanese Steakhouse and sushi bar! Ate there just the other day and truly enjoyed it. Service was great and so was the sushi. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and a relaxed attitude. Check it out if you have a hankering for sushi or Hibachi.

Great sushi. Has many choices for fish lovers as well as those that don't care for raw fish. Good atmosphere, you can choose habachi or a table for your party only.

My baby boy who is 19 months old is a very picky eater. He is used to eating rice and he loves unagi sushi, so I stopped by here for lunch for him. I ordered him two orders of unagi nigiri and an unagi roll. They were pretty good but the hot green tea I ordered was lukewarm at best. Other than that when visiting my in-laws in Albany, I'll definitely be back again.

Great food, poor service. We had to ask for everything from chopsticks to the pen to sign to check...paid $75 for someone to ruin my dinner.

Gotta love Hibachi places. This one has a varied menu and the atmosphere you expect and love from these places. The sushi menu is also rather extensive.

I have had fresh sushi off the boat in my lifetime however a visit to this restaurant did not remind me of that experience at all. This is a run of the mill hibachi restaurant which was solidified by a labor dispute between either one or two previous employees, who were meandering near the front entrance, who were demanding their last paycheck during dinner (not the brightest plan they had that day). One if the previous employees said to the other that a number close to 3-4 people have left in the last week. I heard all of this while waiting for a to go order which made me hesitate if I came to the right place. I took my dinner back to the hotel where I was thankful that real red snapper was used on the nigiri I ordered however the shrimp had a strange texture to it and stopped mid bite to reduce any risk of potential intestinal dis fortitude. All in all the experience would be on par for a hibachi restaurant in this part of the country (don't hate since I too live in the south however travel extensively).

Great sushi, atmosphere, and service. Thus just might be the best restaurant in town.

I used to love eating here and I came here a lot but I don't know how I feel anymore. The food is still good, but it's not as amazing as it used to be. I know nobody's perfect but I always thought that when you order food they will taste the same when you go back but mine tastes a little different and also every time I order the lion king they don't make it the same anymore I think they need it to be in the oven just a little longer. ...?

The food was yummy. The ambiance cliche. The prices higher than i think is good for lunch menus. It didn't help that the prices aren't printed on the main menu. There is a separate piece of paper with pricing. The search and match attempts were daunting. But it WAS yummy sushi.

Overrated and overpriced. Service isn't up to parr either. The waitresses are always confused. Expect small portions. Sushi is okay. However, Flavor of the food is good.

I ordered the big Mac sushi from this restaurant on Saturday, April 5, 2015. I got home and could not enjoy it because every time I would bite into it, I would bite down on something hard. I called the restaurant Sunday to speak with management and he wasn't in. I called Monday and the manager wasn't in. I finally spoke with the manager on Wednesday who's suggestion to my issue was he could sell it to me again for 20% off. He practically told me I was lying and there's nothing else he can do for me, then hung up. I advice any and everyone to take your business to Shogun because Tokyo will never get mine again.

Food was alright. Service was slow because they were under staffed. One waitress for a large section.

This place is a little pricey, but I never had a bad experience there. The food is good, the wait staff are absolutely amazing, and everything about it is a good experience. Strongly recommend, and that is a hard thing to get out of me.

Best Japanese food in town. Chicken, lobster, shrimp and steak with fried rice and veggies is soooo good!!! Never disappointed :)

Great atmosphere, food and people. The cooks are very nice and always do cool things for the kids. We have had Mickey Mouse made out of rice, choo choo train with the smoke and all amongst other things. Food is great, I always get the chicken which is always delicious and plenty. My wife had the lobster and it was 3huge lobster tails which for the price was a great bargain compared to other restaurants I'm town.

While the food is not bad, the service from the sushi bar is severely lacking. I ordered sushi in there and the rest of my table had eaten before mine even showed up. This was not a busy night by any means. I asked to speak to the manager and he came over and never apologized nor could he have cared less that we had a problem. When I told the waitress what happened with the manager she told me that was not uncommon. I will not be going back.

I eat a lot of good sushi from a lot of different places. I was hesitant about eating sushi in Albany but it was delicious. I had the Sushi on the Beach roll, which is like spicy tuna with a slice of lemon to give a zesty fresh flavor. I also had the shrimp tempura roll. Crunchy and yummy. Service is really good. Spend $15 on rolls and get a salad and soup for free Parking in lot is limited, addl parking behind

I have eaten a lot of sushi across the country and internationally. Good sushi for Albany, GA. I would say this restaurant would get a 3-star rating in a metropolitan area. With limited options in Albany, this is a safe bet. I ate at the sushi bar and the sushi chef was very friendly and accommodating.
