We were in Wellington a couple weeks ago and stopped at Stonewood for dinner. We honestly confused this restaurant for Stonewood Ale House, which is a restaurant with a very similar logo/font near where we live, so once we were inside we were very confused and felt a bit underdressed! The location was kind of strange, it wasn't a free-standing restaurant, but instead it was at the end of a strip mall, on a larger mall [Wellington Green]'s property. It was off to the side, without any major signage, at least not that we saw. We just happened to drive past it in the parking lot. Inside, it was very dark. There also weren't very many people at the restaurant, just a few older couples. After we sat down, two larger parties were seated across from us - they had different accents so it's safe to assume they were on vacation or visiting family. We honestly debated leaving before eating, but we were seated toward the back and didn't want to look super awkward. The menu was very limited, and nothing what we originally wanted, since again, we confused two restaurants! A couple basic "gourmet" burgers, and then a few salads, steaks, and seafood. Most of the menu was $13+, with the burgers being the least expensive. For an appetizer, we ordered Bruschetta, which was actually very good, very filling, and worth the price. For an entree, my husband and I both ordered 8 oz. sirloin steaks, which were pretty typical restaurant sirloins. Howver, we ordered them medium well and they were well done. The rice pilaf and broccoli I got on the side were not good at all - the broccoli had literally nothing added to it, it was just plain boiled broccoli (probably frozen), and the rice pilaf would've been better if they just used Rice-a-Roni. It was so bland, yet I was chewing on bay leaves. It was also pretty expensive at $17.70 a plate. I could've gone to Longhorn or Outback Steakhouse for the exact same thing (cooked how I ordered it) for $13 or less. Our server was very kind, but my husband and I joked that the restaurant felt a little bit like the movie Waiting, where all the servers would go in the back and complain about their tables and spit in your food and all that. (I'm hoping he didn't, but I wouldn't doubt it.) While it's not the worst restaurant I've ever been to, I will not return to this or any other Stonewood Grill.

Horrible service and the food is fair at best. Made reservations on open table for 8:30 and we didn't sit for 20 minutes. Why bother taking a reservation if you're going to honor it. Once we sat we didn't get served for over 30 minutes. Soup came out barely warm. We ultimately got our main course served another 45 min later. Server disappeared. There are plenty of choices and this won't be one of them going forward.

This is a very special place for my husband and myself since we had a wedding lunch here almost 10 years ago. It is our go to place for special occasions like our anniversary or birthdays. Food and service are always great. And just wait until you taste their hot and salty pretzel bread sticks.

Delicious meal! Try the tuna tartare, the fillet was grilled perfectly and oh-so-tender. A must have with the Florida orange cake... Especially for out of towners!

Four of us went for dinner. Two drinks, one appetizer, four main dishes, four desserts. With gratuity the bill came to about $50/person. My prime rib was tough. Another in our group ordered a sirloin medium-rare and received it medium. We discussed sending the dishes back but we would have had to sit there while the others ate and by the time new dishes came out, the others would have been mostly done and would have had to sit and watch us eat. Good restaurants serve good food prepared properly the first time. This is not one of those restaurants. I can get tough meats not prepared properly for a lot less money than we spent here.

After our second time there, I am convinced this place has the most delicious fish i have ever eaten. We have had salmon, black grouper, and sea bass here... all top notch excellent. The ambiance is very nice, very mature and first class. A bit expensive but worth it

A romantic setting. The Buffalo shrimp appetizer was to die for!! We were seated quickly & the hostess was extremely nice, thanking us for coming in. Our waiter-can not recall his name- was fantastic!! Cocktails were done perfectly!! Our meal of steaks was also excellent. Cooked to perfection & so tasty!! Try that pretzel bread too--so yummy!! Overall it was a little pricey but we'd visit again.

Worst food i have had in a long time i ordered a chicken dish with a baked potato and no pickle the order came out with the biggest pickle And juice all over the potato was old very small and over cooked i send the potato back waitress brought another same size and old. Sent it back. Useless manager brought another even worse So i ordered fries No salt they were even older burnt and very greasy Waitress apologized and said they would drop a fresh batch so they knew no manager came over by the time they arrived the meal was over and they were loaded with salt my wife's meal was not as bad but not worth the price $55 for a crappy meal Never again overpriced dark and smelly bad service and terrible management

Great food. Well thought out menu, fabulously executed dishes and a good wine list and cocktail menu. The atmosphere is great. If you are alone or with one other person, sit at the bar. It has a great vibe and friendly service. Steaks are great. Appetizers are wonderful, and the smoked salmon appetizer is highly recommended. My son orders the cheeseburger every time and loves it.

I have come to accept that this area may not be a very Yelp active place. Because this restaurant was topped rated , actually it's Number 1, on TripAdvisor! Yet on Yelp, there's only 4 photos with 3 of them being mine that I had just uploaded from my party. Okay so this was the restaurant of choice that my mother in law said would be the perfect place for my father in law's surprise party, and it so was! Lesley, one of the managers, was SUCH a pleasure to deal with. We conversed with her (in this order) primarily via email, text and limited phone (she's very busy, so email really is the best). On the day of the party, Lesley was there early (I got there at 10:30am) to set up and she was already there (she said she would be there by 10). Remember, they do not open for lunch , and we booked a lunch party for 12:30. Lesley helped my sister in law and I set up the place (blowing up balloons was the biggest thing) she even brought along colored markers and wrote on the mirrors for my father in law! All of the staff were totally awesome and so accommodating! I really could not be happier with the entire experience! And the food! Chef Lauren came out and introduced himself beforehand to us, everyone loved their dishes. For our entrees we had decided to give our guests three entree options (chicken, salmon or steak) with a Caesar or house salad. For appetizers we picked fried shrimp with some kind of sweet Thai sauce and bruschetta. EVERYONE finished everything! The food came out fresh, hot and delicious! If you are planning a private party for 40 people or less I would totally recommend this place for lunch. We stayed till 3:30-4 something , because when we left - the restaurant was open for the public. At no time did we feel rushed by the staff that we needed to start wrapping things up. Lesley even offered to take photos of our party for us!! SO sweet, so helpful and so efficient! Towards the end of the party when we were setting up the Charlotte Russe desserts, we hit a snag because the desserts were hallow on the bottom and my cupcake. Display stand had weird wired designs that caused the desserts to not be stable- so without missing a beat Lesley top up a pair of scissors and started cutting out strips of paper from a cardboard and placed on the stand and placed the desserts over it. Problem solved! My father in law was VERY happy, everyone had a wonderful time and the Mr said I did not break the bank! What more could one ask for? Cheers! By the way, I ordered a margarita and they made me a HUGE drink. Think of a regular water glass at any restaurant and that's what they served my margarita in!! Cool jelly beans!

Excellent service, full bar, quite a varied menu, fair prices and quiet enough that six people can hold a pleasant dinner conversation. Everyone enjoyed their food. Second visit was not as successful. Service was rather poor and all meals were poorly cooked.

This was my first time here and it was enjoyable!!! Our waiter was friendly and efficient. I ordered a Chicken Cesar Salad and my husband ordered The General Taso (I think I'm totally misspelling that word, sorry ) Shrimp and Scallops. We both enjoyed our food and it came out quickly. Bottom line... We'd dine here again...

Ok experience. Waiter was slow. It took at least 10 min until someone came to our table. Server forgot to put beverage napkins so another server came a few minutes right after thinking we weren't served yet. The server introduced himself and didn't even give us a chance to give our drink order and walked away right away to take care of another table. 5 minutes later he came back to get our drink and appetizer order. Another 10 minutes flew by and he came by to let us know he will give us a few more minutes to look over our menu and when he should have asked if we were ready. He waited another 10 minutes until he came around to get our order when we were in fact ready 10 minutes earlier. Portions are definitely smaller than I expected. Food taste great however. Other than slow service, slow cook, this place can run better with experienced management.

Really disappointing Thanksgiving dinner. Honestly it was not much different than a turkey and mashed potatoes TV dinner. The pumpkin pie was good, but that's all. I regret not asking for a refund, but we were with family and I just wanted to get out ASAP. I was so embarrassed because I recommended we go there. Stone wood grill, you should be ashamed of charging so much and giving so little. Also, the waiter was very serious and seem to want to avoid us the whole time.

This is really supposed to be 3 and half stars. The highlight of our night was Dan the waiter and the warm soft pretzel sticks. They were late with our reservation by 20 minutes and since we were there early we had to wait a half hour. The food was pretty good at the price but not fantastic. DAN and the pretzel sticks really are wonderful. Oh I forgot to mention that the anchovies for the cesar salad ate high quality.

Decided to have dinner there before a concert at the Cruzan. First impressions weren't great but walking inside it was kind of reminiscent of a Houston's with the dark, masculine decor. We decided to try it. The drinks were good. The waiter raved about the salmon with toast appetizer so we ordered that. It was not what we expected. Although I liked the flavors it was kinda strange eating a whole seasoned salmon filet as an appetizer over toast. My husband was craving a spinach dip but they don't offer one. The Short ribs with butternut squash ravioli he ordered really disappointed him. It was all drowning in a bowl full of sauce. The short ribs tasted old and fatty and had no glaze on them. I had the steak salad. It was okay but instead of thin filets of steak over a bed of greens they cut it into big chunks. Having recently had a cooking class at Sur Le Table, where we learned how to make a steak salad, I can tell you mine was much better. You have to slice the beef thin! Everything was kind of partitioned in the bowl so I had to cut the portobello mushrooms and the tomatoes and basically mix this salad up. I would prefer my salad ready to eat. The service was good. Alas, my husband couldn't stop complaining about his meal but his was worse. I would have given the place three stars.

Called for reservations and was told that they were busy but they would seat us in the tavern. Got there on time and was told they gave our table away but we could wait for 30 minutes or go to another steak house.

Its rare that I leave a 1 star review but i had a truly awful experience at stonewood last week. literally missed the mark on everything. Im a very forgiving patron and don't expect a perfect experience everywhere i go either. The waiter seemed annoyed with us that we were ordering drinks and preceded to make us feel bad for ordering them. "oh boy, you guys are really going to cause a backup at the bar" Really? sorry to be spending money with you. It really wasn't that busy, it was a Monday night, but the waiter seemed in the weeds and made a few strange comments that bordered on snarky. One time after we ordered another round, my wife spoke up and said "not for me please". Well it came anyway and the the waiter was actually mad and rolled his eyes and said "but you ordered it!" "Fine, Ill drink it" I said . My mom who ordered a new york strip, asked the food runner if she could have a side of Bearnaise. The waiter comes over, again, mad at her for not ordering it earlier. "But you didn't order it, you know this might take a while to come out." Dude, just say yes Ill bring the sauce, and charge us, don't make a big deal about it. Simply not professional. I ordered filet mignon medium rare with a skewer of scallops and shrimp. The filet was sliced thin and puny, medium well and the scallops and shrimp were over done. Came out with the wrong side, a vapid ice cream scoop of cold mashed potatoes on a stark white plate. looked like something id get at a cafeteria. I just ate it because at that point we all just wanted to leave. We were a party of 8 and not one person felt their food was good or worth the money. After we ate we waited forever for our check. we really just wanted to leave. So disappointed, never going back. The balsamic chips and clam chowder were good so they got that going for them.

Poor management KILLS a restaurant and this one is circling the drain quickly. Went to the bar while waiting for a table...order a glass of cab and a glass of Merlot...super noisy and the bartender says...you want try the @&$/?!....I can't hear him but he pours two glasses anyway...I get the bill....the glass of cab is $22....he must have said to do you want to try some very average yet obscenely expensive wine by the glass...strike 1 Strike 2....we order appetizers and entrees. The apps come to the table and 30 seconds later...no, really, 30 seconds later they bring our entrees. Nothing pisses me off more than this so I ask to speak to the manager. Strike 3....the manager, when told of the apps and entrees being delivered on top of each other says..."wow, I hope you're hungry"...I mention that we will just eat the entrees...she says, no I'll put your entrees under the lamp to keep the warm...WTF? Bottom line...never coming back!

Haven't been here in awhile so stopped in for our anniversary. Started with the tavern wings, which were out of this world. Not your everyday wings, hot but sweet, full of flavor! I had the boneless short ribs, which obviously fell right off the bone! The meat was so good that I couldn't finish the mashed potatoes (and I am a mashed potato LOVER). My mate had the cedar plank roasted salmon, and has since bought home some cedar planks hoping I can recreate a masterpiece! We topped it off with a slice of key lime pie, and called it a night. Waitress was extremely pleasant, knew just when to approach us - top of the line! Cannot wait to go back!

Terrible. The waitress suggested bruschetta right before they brought a big bowl of pretzel bread. Ok no biggie. The bruschetta was doughy and soggy. Ok now getting upset. I send the bruschetta back. Waitress is apologetic. I order pork chops and my wife orders salmon. The pork chops came out raw in the middle and completely unseasoned. My wife's salmon was actually pretty well prepared. Oh, and my wife ordered a $9 glass of wine which when brought out was 1/3 filled with what tasted and smelled like stale wine. I have never sent food back before in my entire life until tonight. Steer clear.

I guess Ruth Chris's didn't buy them out! I guess the previous head chef for Ruth Chris's went to Stonewood Grill a while back. I was mis-informed! The bartender at the Fort Myers location set me straight. I LOVE Stonewood Grill. If you subscribe to their e-mails they send you great offers year round. I have never had a disappointing meal here. Their fish is always fresh, and (Les at the bar) makes the best Martini a girl could ever hope to drink :)

Service: Excellent From the door being opened for us to the smiling hostess to the very professional and personable server. Atmosphere: Nice Lots of wood and soft lighting although a bit of a musty smell. Probably a landlord issue and out of their control but a bit off putting especially when food is involved. Food: Good The fish was served as ordered and well-seasoned. The portions were fair. Management: Poor The ladies room while clean had blown light bulbs and neither soap nor paper towels in the handicapped stall. Worse than that though was the ineptitude of the MOD; we finished our meals and needed to leave at the same time that our very efficient server started taking the order on a table of twenty. Now yes she probably should have asked a fellow server to watch her other tables but did not. This is where an alert and conscientious manager steps in apologizes and explains the situation, clears the table, offers dessert and/or coffee, and gets the bill. What was the manager doing? Chatting with idle wait staff and when we waved him over he literally hid in the corner and sent the idle server! I'm sorry if I'm the manager and a patron waves me over... I'm there. I guess I would give it another try based on the food and service.

A solid good meal. I would go to 4 stars except I found them to be a bit overpriced but pleasant service and not a terribly long wait for walk-ins at 7pm. We had a $25 coupon which helped but probably would not return to pay full price. The fact that there was a wait while we're still off-season down here suggests that it has a solid local following, mostly a retiree crowd is what we experienced there. The party ahead of us was offered a table in either the dining room or bar area but we did not get any option. The bar was rather loud at first but quieted down as the evening progressed. Martini and a Margarita for starters. Martini was well prepared and had nice blue-cheese olives. The margarita was over-iced but good otherwise. Bread basket was good - love the pretzel bread. Buffalo Shrimp appetizer was small but nice. Shrimp were well cooked and just barely flash fried to minimize grease. Caesar salad was good. Fresh lettuce, not too much dressing, ample anchovies. We both ordered the 9oz filet. They were tender, well trimmed with just the right amount of seasoning. Green beans were crisp, creamed spinach was good. Baked potato was small but well made. Mixed vegetable was a little over-steamed but perfectly edible. No big complaints, but no real raves either. A solid local establishment.

Saturday night in June. We were seated within 10 min of our 7:30 reservation. Service was excellent. I had nicely seasoned grilled salmon on plank. Cooked thoroughly but not dry. Friend had lamb chops he felt were excellent. Only disappointment was the salad I ordered never arrived. Runner tried to bring me one "on the house" but I refused it since my entre had already arrived. Atmosphere pleasant. Parking easy. It's Wellington. We were pleased. Moral: don't try to upsell appetizers and then fail to deliver.

This was my first visit, and I brought a group of nine recently graduated high school seniors, all minorities, here for a celebratory dinner (I was their English teacher this year). The service was amazing--the staff treated my (former) students like royalty. No condescension, just fabulous service that was attentive and engaged without hovering or smothering. The food was outstanding. I ordered the bone-in filet special with salad, baked potato, and a side of buffalo shrimp for $39, which was pretty good value for this style of eatery. The shrimp weren't quite as flavorful as I might have hoped, but the wedge salad was drenched in blue cheese and bacon (that's a positive thing; often restaurants go too light on the flavorful parts of the salad) and the steak was perfectly cooked and melted like butter in my mouth. It was perfectly seasoned and had a consistent temperature throughout the cut. Easily one of the best steaks I have had in recent years. I will definitely be bringing my family here in the future.

Had a reservation and was seated 25 min later. Drink order was taken and arrived on time. Had to ask for bread which was 4 pieces for 4 people. Dinner order took over 1 hour and arrived only after complaining to manager. This is the third time this scenario happened. Three strikes and you're out!

We met a group of friends at the bar where we had dinner and drinks. The full menu was available at the bar and we were well taken care of by bartender Les. The food is excellent. We had the buffalo shrimp appetizer, chicken pasta and herb encrusted grouper. The shrimp was served with bleu cheese and bleu cheese dressing already on it, so if you do not care for it, make sure you ask them to leave it off or served on the side. The grouper comes with rice and green beans, but you can upcharge and exchange the rice for mushroom risotto. Do it. You won't regret it. This place isn't exactly cheap, but the quality is very good. We will go back to this place.

Fillet with mushrooms in ravioli. Wife got steak tips with shrimp on rice. Both came with asparagus. Got some bread before the meal four different types. Our waiter Jesse was great! Overall, the steaks were tender, but they are over priced $29 & $27. If they hadn't had a deal with American Express I don't think I would have drove this far and after eating here I know we won't drive this far back. It was nice, just over priced.

Thoroughly mediocre! Although the mussels appetizer was okay, we ordered Shrimp & Scallops and Lamb Chops. Delivered lukewarm, although certainly dried out from the kitchen's heat lamps. No discernible taste. The side dishes were dismal. The service was poor, and soft drinks were sure to be refilled into a glass with waaaay too much ice so that the drinks were watery within minutes. Spent $100, and honestly cannot see the value whatsoever. We were very much looking forward to enjoying a special meal here. We definitely will NOT ever return. There are far better places where we can waste our money and a meal. How utterly disappointing. Really, what do people see here?

The service here is as good as it gets, ultimate perfection. The food is very good, the menu has something for everyone, the wine list is superb, and the atmosphere very relaxing. My wife and I love to come here, it's very much a special place for us to sit down and enjoy each other. There is not a lot of noise, so we can talk easily. Top marks all the way around for this place.
