Yummy shrimp and cold beer! Life is good. Casual dive bar with fun patrons and good food. I love these types of places where you feel comfortable from the minute you walk in. Bartenders were friendly and everyone was talking to each other. Great atmosphere and I will be back soon.

Took a day trip to explore our beautiful peninsula a little more and while we we're driving thru mt.dora, Tavares and almost getting to leesburg the thing was we never got to leesburg because we wanted to stop to get something to eat. I'm always in the mood to try something completely new. We crossed this elevation that connected the to big lakes Lake Eustis and Lake Harris, to the right we saw some secluded area that said restaurant it was by the water, so curiosity started setting in we made complete stop. Palm Gardens Restaurant & Marina wow!! just like pulling up to your cousins or brothers sisters home that you haven't seen in a while. Total home cooking and let me tell you really good food. Eli server was our server and since it was our first time there he completely took his time to explain the type of cuisine they served everything from fresh shrimp fish chicken wings burgers and the list goes on and on. I ordered the shrimp as an appetizer was completely blown away with the freshness, so so tasty. Time to order more, The TURKEY PANINI OMG made with real turkey meat no deli Bologna here. For Dessert Grandma's home made Pumpkin Pie, all I can tell you is to DIE for the crust made out real pumpkin graham, totally unexplainable. Besides the great experience in the food the ambience was amazing overlooking the 2 huge lakes right on the water where people were also parking their boats to enjoy the experience. 100% Recommend.

I'm almost reluctant to give away the secret, but...a coworker told us about Palm Gardens Wednesday night ribeye deal, so we decided to check it out after work. So glad we did! It's the perfect happy hour - we managed to snag a table next to the water, got the steaks, which were cooking on a grill nearby, with the red potatoes and green beans. The beer was cold, the food was good, and the atmosphere was fantastic, if you don't mind funky with a few flies. Like a backyard barbecue at a friend's, if your friend lives on the water and grills a mean steak... And you don't feel like you have to pop up to help with the dishes - order another beer, and watch the boats going by and the kids fishing at the end of the dock. Get there early, as it gets busy.

Really chill place if you can find it. You have to drive through a rundown trailer park until you see the tiki bar. Patio furniture on the dock for seating. It was cool to watch the boats drive by. Pork sandwich was great (mix both sauces). The reuben was better than ok but not great. Smoking is apparently allowed on the dock/tables area. You could even dock your boat here for lunch. Beer and wine coolers only. Oh...and a bird just pooped in my hair!!! (Yes really) gross.

Wow! What a great setting. What seating we saw was outside under the trees right next to the river. Our server, Betty K, came over to us & asked "what do you want?". Nice greeting. We both ordered a beer. She came back asked if we decided what we want to eat. We said Basa sounds great. "We're out of Basa". How about a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich? "We can do that but we're out of the rolls. You'll have to have it on another bread". I said forget it, bring us the bill and we'll eat somewhere else. She brought us the bill. $5.01. I gave her $10.10 & told her I wanted change. She came back with $3.05 change. I got her attention again & said I didn't get all of my change back. She tried to blame it on someone else inside. By the way, it took us about 20 minutes to check out. Sorry, but I don't thing this lady's elevator goes all the way up. We won't return.

This adorable throwback to the pre civil rights era comes complete with aging rednecks who stumble over from the adjacent mobile home/shanty town. The owner and chief shucker is a paranoid, and unless you are a regular you can expect passive aggressive or just downright aggressive treatment until they flat out tell you to leave. Use bug spray and prepare for a few bites from the local ants. Stephanie works the bar with the personality of a jilted ex girlfriend. The oysters taste great, and the beer is ice cold. Do not take pictures!

From Washington, DC, but have family that live in Tavares right on Lake Eustis. Always go here via boat to fill up on gas and grab a six-pack from time to time. Even with this the service and hospitality is excellent. But stopped by this morning via CAR to check out their breakfast. And let me tell YOU! The menu covers the gammut of traditional American breakfast to southern biscuits and gravy to French toast. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs and toast this go around and was absolutely impressed. I highly recommend this place for food... in addition to the gas and beer :)

Had a great lunch here today. Stopped because i saw the umbrellas from main road. Drove through a low budget rv park. Walked around the building to dockside. Character. Character. CHARACTER!! Quiet dock location on the Dead River. Felt like a Louisiana bayou. Run down and authentic. Not a chain restaurant! Basa sandwiches, onion rings, fresh iced tea, great attentive service. This is real Florida!! Stop here and embrace the local ambience. Ill be back for sure and its two hours from where I live!

Local watering hole. Friendly atmosphere along the Dead River. Relax and don't be in a hurry. You won't find table linens, china or silverware. I love their grilled onions and mushroom swiss cheese burger.
