I was stationed at MacDill in the mid-90s. I always loved the chicken, rice and beans. I need to get back for a fix.

So I've known about this place for a long time, but never went until today. As a first try, I had a Large Cuban Sandwich, no lettuce, no pickles. Disclaimer - I am very picky about Cuban Sandwiches. Don't get me started about "all the way" Cuban Sandwiches. I grew up in Miami, maybe we have a different definition down there, but there are never any lettuce or tomatoes. First, the good. Friendly, family owned business; we need more of these places in Tampa. Good bread - the key to any Cuban Sandwich. Fast service. The not as good - the bread was pressed and toasted nicely, but not enough to heat the meat through or melt the cheese completely. A common error, but an error none-the-less. Then the meat. The ham was good quality, and the salami, too. The roast pork (the prime ingredient in any Cuban) consisted of one slice of meat. Now, I would normally say that sliced meat is inferior to roasted, pulled pork on a Cuban, but it at least has to be noticeably present. In this case, it was barely there. Unacceptable. In summary, I like the place. I will probably try it again. I probably won't get a Cuban again. It will do in a pinch, but there are better choices if I want to drive further.

Seriously, the BEST Cuban sandwich in town! The bread is AMAZING!!

I can't believe reviewers are calling their Cuban sandwich "awesome" or "best in South Tampa". People, this is an imitation Cuban sandwich. A real Cuban is not made with luncheon meat!!!! There were only two paper thin slices of what I assumed was pork but it could've been turkey or chicken for all I knew. They were so thin they didn't add any flavor to the sandwich. As a Latino visiting Tampa from Indianapolis, I was extremely disappointed. And I thought I was going to find a better Cuban in Tampa than what I can get at A Taste of Havana in Indy! Not even close!

My husband and I eat here all the time. You can't beat the price and the food is amazing. Victoria's is also family owned and has been here a long time. I love their cuban sandwich and my husband loves their garbonzo bean soup, both of which come with the always special. Highly recommended!

Nice that S Tampa has such a solid neighborhood diner/sandwich shop. Located in a strip mall just south of Gandy. Simple interior, decorated with Asian art and a sombrero?! Menu is also eclectic, mostly standard sandwiches at good prices. A standing special of spanish garbanzo bean soup and half a Cuban, touted as the best Cuban in S Tamp...which is like the best egg roll in Moscow. Not bad...generous on sandwich ham, scarce on pork and cheese, but good Cuban bread. Meatball sandwich also good and was severely tempted by thick slices of banana bread for a buck at the counter. Quick, efficient take-out.

Friendly, delicious, and cheap... Every... Single... Time. The "Always Special" which entails half of a delicious Cuban sandwich and a bowl of garbanzo bean soup never disappoints.

Well, if you're looking for a great place for good food, Victoria's can't be beat! I've tried a lot of their menu: from their daily special to the Cuban sandwich.... Haven't had a bad meal yet. They are the quintessential lunch spot... and being there for 28 years proves it...! Not to be missed!

Really tasty little Cuban sandwich, got the thumbs up from my Floridian husband. The location itself is not the prettiest, so I got the sandwich and a papa relleno to go. The staff was very friendly and efficient, and the food was good and reasonably priced (and made quickly).

After months of driving around Tampa for lunch almost every day, I remember seeing this spot, wondering if it was worth stopping by to try out. It's a very unassuming front and it's neither bustling with numerous patrons nor empty like a forgotten wing of a strip mall on a early week day. Suffice to say, there's a constant flow of new customers as well as regulars, from what I gathered that day I went. I skimmed the menu and noticed the Cuban sandwich that everyone mentioned but I wanted to also try their other go-to items. I ordered the garbanzo soup and the chicken and rice which came with black beans as well. The garbanzo soup was more flavorful than I expected and I enjoyed dipping the sliced and buttered Cuban bread it was accompanied with into it. The chicken and yellow rice was very good, it was falling off the bone as well. I noticed that you could even bite into the bone too. I was eating a drum stick and thought I was chewing through some meat when I notice that half the bone was gone, so I tried to nibble on it and sure enough it came right off. The rice had good flavor too and the black beans came out we they added some diced onions to it. Great find here, I should have stopped in earlier and now it sucks that I will be leaving Tampa soon and fly back home to California.

Great little place. Fantastic Cuban, plus a number of other options for people interested in something else. Might become a regular lunch spot.

Casual, comfortable atmosphere with great homemade cooking and friendly service! Voted best Cuban sandwich in South Tampa back in 2009, and still maintaining the greatness!! :) Delicious daily lunch specials and homemade classic Cuban side items like deviled crabs, stuffed potatoes, garbanzo bean soup, black beans and rice...etc. Definitely a Must Try!!! :)
