What the heck??? Went to the drive thru for three stinking milkshakes. No one in line, parking lot pretty empty and we've been waiting 20 minutes. They made us pull forward and I think they forgot about us!!! Oh, and when we ordered the banAna shake, they wanted to know if we wanted the "real" banana or .... Um, yeah, let's go with real. Hubs just got out of the car in the drive thru to get it. Terrible.

The food is fantastic. They have fantastic burgers and seasoned fries..... the hot dogs mmmmmmhhhhhmmmmm. The waitress was very kind and pleasant. Everything seemed very clean. No obnoxious yelling from the staff like a few other places I have been. They seemed happy and were working well together. The wait for the food was not bad. I see some complaints of their vegetarian food....and I would ask why are vegetarians going to a fast food style burger joint anyways? That's said, we had a side salad and it was good. Ok so! Good food good drink good friendly service.

Ok...so I said I would never do this place again after my first experience at the one in Chicago but I always give a place a second chance. This time I went into a Tampa property and I ordered a simple breakfast skillet. They couldn't even take a simple order and was giving me someone else's breakfast. Dang! I think there were about 5 people all together in the restaurant. Is it that confusing? I just couldn't take it and walked out. Unbelievable!

Long drive home and I needed sustenance... I don't generally care for fast food, and since Steak 'n shake is a step above most places, I opted to stop there. Where else can you get a triple patty steak burger and fries for $4 bucks? In general, the food is good, the burgers are fresh, even if the service is NOT the fastest.

Aeriel was our server this evening and she was amazing! Very friendly, always validating why we ask for and repeatedly asking if everything was I out liking and if she could get us anything. I don't expand much on the food at fast food joints because they really all taste the same. It's the servers that separate the locations. Thanks Ariiel.

I was sitting at Steak and Shake, waiting for my food and, my waitress had to leave to help another waitress break into her car.( It was for cigarettes). My waitress took a very long time doing this. It took an hour to get my food. I then had to ask for a refill. Terrible Time!

Here's the thing, y'all: Don't come expecting some fancy-shmancy-LA-annoying-hipster type of burger. This isn't exactly Instagram quality. But if you want a good, satisfying burger and shake that'll fill your little tummy? You got it here. Also big props to our awesome server; she was hilarious. PS. Totally dug the banoculate milkshake-- chocolate and banana. Perfect for people like me who just want BOTH :)

Steak 'n Shake! WHY YOU SO TEMPTING TO EAT ALL THE TIME AT NIGHT?! Seriously. One of the best late-night foods you can get. The $4 menu is where it's at. The burgers, chicken fingers, patty-melts, etc. All so greasy and good for those late night munchies. Although, I don't know what it is at all Steak 'n Shake's that I go to, but all seem to be lacking on service... The food is good, but service is def. not on par with the food.

I love the food here and you really can't get a better deal - a meal for $4! And one that doesn't take bad either. Generally the staff is nice; however, I feel the service is fairly slow. When there is no one around the service is slow and when it is busy the service can be slow. This is something they could improve upon. Still plan on visiting them though, just always make sure I have time to wait for the food!

I had breakfast here yesterday and really enjoyed the entire experience. Upon walking in I was promptly seated and my beverage order was taken. Just a couple of minutes later my sweet tea arrived, properly made I might add, and the server asked if I was ready to order. I'd not had enough time to see what I wanted so asked her to give me a few minutes. When she circled back around I ordered the Homestyle breakfast which included scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns (crispy), and pancakes. All of this for just 4.79 with a coupon I had gotten in the mail. It was only five or so minutes later and my food was served. Everything was cooked properly, even the crispy hash browns, and had a very good flavor. The staff was courteous, timely, and really seemed to enjoy working there. The restaurant was clean and had a very nice atmosphere. For the price, along with the pleasant experience, this place is very hard to beat. Although I didn't get it on this visit, since it was breakfast, the new nutella milkshake is outstanding!

Finally, a vegetarian sandwich on the Steak 'n Shake menu! But it was a disappointment. I guess I should have expected that, with this being a greasy diner joint. The Veggie Melt gets 2 stars because they forgot the guacamole, and the sourdough bread was flimsy and the sandwich started to fall apart after the first bite. I paid with my credit card but didn't get an itemized receipt, even after asking for one.

I don't know what happened to this location, but this is not the Steak n Shake I used to eat at. While the burgers are still good, lately the fries come out with no salt on them at all and usually luke warm. On top of that they somehow forgot how to make milkshakes. The milkshakes come out now in warm glasses tasting like warm flavored milk. This place also seems to have a lack of teamwork which might be part of the problem. It isn't uncommon to see milkshakes and food sitting in the window waiting to be run to the tables. There are plenty of waitstaff standing around but since it isn't theirs they don't touch it. I watched 4 milkshakes sit in the window for over 4 minutes while 3 waiters and waitresses stood there talking. Avoid this location, and try one of the others if you want a good Steak n Shake experience.

This place is ok. Service is kind of rough. We have been several times for the food. But it often takes forever to get out of there because the server staff moves like molassas. Also the drive through moves like pond water. People aren't very friendly or courtious. Probably because the staff is mainly young kids. Food is great usually but we have had issues with food being cold or our order was wrong. We have been here about 20 times overall. Food is the only reason we come. Milk shakes are great too.

Every time I go to one something wrong happens with the order through drive through. They forgot the large order of Onion Rings last time, and gave me a different hotdog than what was ordered. Didn't find out the other one till we got home. Main reason I go however is their delicious Chili-5-way....
