Now, this is GOOD pizza! My favorite is the chicken and artichoke pizza. YUM! Favorite take out (or eat in!) pizza in South Tampa!

Why 3 stars? Because it's your average pizza-pie! --- --- --- I had Sally O'Neals years ago when I first moved to Florida, long before my Yelping days. I remembered enjoying it, and it was always high on my list to make a return to. I finally had the opportunity recently, and had a pretty decent experience. The breadsticks were great, the BBQ chicken was ok, and the standard pie my girlfriend ordered was alright as well. Just an FYI, the BBQ chicken is a bit different because of the peppers they put on there. They aren't too spicy, but the flavor is definitely not subtle. It's a nice mom-n-pop shop that I'd definitely return to over hitting up a chain, but it's not the best in the area, in my opinion.

Absativley posotutely SUPERB pizza, incredible service from Norma and the staff and a great clean feel of the decor made my experience here fabu!!! Must try the steak and Gorgonzola. I'll be racing about this place to everyone I know. Just go. You'll be glad you did.

Live close by and walked up one night this week. It's a little place on S. Howard with a lot of plants framing the patio. Enjoyed that aspect. Prices were fine, service was pretty good, and we did enjoy sitting on the patio with our dog. The server brought water for the dog, which I always appreciate. Everything was fine, but nothing was great. It was my first time, so I may try it again. I think they might be better at specialty pizzas than the plain pepperoni that I got. And I know most people would love tons of cheese, but there was a LOT of cheese on this pizza. Overall, it could have just been an off night for the food. My bf enjoyed his calzone, but it didn't blow him away, either. If I go again, i'll try the Goat Cheese And Prosciutto Pizza recommended by some fellow Yelpers.

Cute little pizza joint in South Tampa. Only thing holding back 5 stars is size (and they could not easily make it bigger, besides expanding into the parking lot, which probably would not be a good idea). We came here on a Friday night and this place got packed fast. Luckily we got there about 4:50 so we got to order before the mad rush. The crowded small dining room was a bit unpleasant. SCREAMING KIDS! This is a great family establishment, and I was there with family, but we just did not bring any cute little cuddly SCREAMING kids! We had the Chicken Alfredo pizza. It was wonderful. The bread is so fresh and filling. Washing it down with a Stella helped cope with the screaming kids. Service was spectacular and there was a real home style feel to this lovely pizza place! The pizza was great, and that is really all that matters.

Have been ordering takeout, and the create your pizza option is perfect. All the ingredients are fresh and the pizza isn't greasy or heavy. What I usually get is a 12" with goat cheese, tomatoes, chicken, sausage, green peppers, and sun dried tomatoes. By far delicious pizza that is pretty unique in terms of choice of ingredients and quality compared to the chains and other pizza places around town. Would definitely. Definitely.

I've lived in several cities around the country (Detroit, Phoenix, Tampa, Seattle, LA and now Chicago) & travelled around the world, and Sally O'Neals stands out as some of the best pizza I've ever had. It has been a few years since I lived in Tampa, so my review is not a recent one. Now that I have moved to Chicago, we will have to see if Sally's still holds up as some of the best pizza I've had.

Fast delivery and solid calzone. The salad was great, but the balsamic dressing is too unbalanced. The vinegar overpowers so I recommend choosing an alternative dressing unless you are an oil and strong vinegar fan.

Okay I have been a long term customer here and within the last three months the quality has decreased SO much and the prices all went up. The employees are absolutley filthy. I stood at the counter and watched 3 teens make food while touching their face and everything with no gloves. The pizza is now sloppy and inconsistent every week. This is all very sad because this was my favorite pizza place in south tampa. I will not be back anymore.

If you received bad service here it's probably because you came off as a dick. This shit is the bees knees. The first time I walked into this place my initial thought was "I bet there are a plethora of hot chicks working here" and one again I was right. The short Arabian looking broad is more than enough incentive for me to return. Their service was on point and the parmesan on the breadsticks may or may not be crack based, it's that good! If you don't like this place you're a little bitch.

Sally's never disappoints. Our table enjoyed a perfect pie with extra cheese and one member of the family ventured off the usual and had a delicious portion of spaghetti with not one, not two, but three meatballs! Best pizza, well, maybe anywhere! Great service and great food. A SoHo gem for sure! Very casual and open for lunch and dinner.

Good pizza for takeout. I'm from New York and this isn't bad. Good Greek salad with generous amount of feta and olives.

If you are looking for a pizza place that is better than most in the South Tampa area this is it! You can customize your pie with all the usual toppings and more. We love the veggies, including spinach and artichokes. We have been there many times and often get takeout. Try it, it's really good!

Simply fantastic. I haven't had a bad experience yet, and the pizza dough they use is just wonderful - which is the same dough they use for their breadsticks. Flaky crisp on the outside, but nice and soft on the inside. A good variety of non-standard toppings, as well. Dining in is a bit iffy, but only because the seating is a bit snug and I keep seeming to arrive at those times when a family with a really loud child is present - but that's not the business' fault at all. I'm always up for a trip out to Sally O'Neal's.

Sally O' Neal's Pizza had a booth at the Straz Center's Taste the Best of Tampa Bay and was one of the most popular booths at the event and at an event with over 30 quality, popular local restaurants, for a pizza parlor to get the thunder says a ton about their pizza. It was delicious - I have not had a pizza like that before in Tampa. The ingredients all taste very fresh (apparently they get most of their produce from local farmer's markets) and Sally's has apparently been in town since 1985 - pre-dating my birth by 4 years. I can definitely see myself stopping at Sally's for a pizza after a night in SoHo - I wish there was one closer to home so I could have it more regularly. After we finished tasting all the booths we decided we wanted another delicious taste of Sally O' Neal's and alas every pizza (there was a ton) was devoured by the hungry crowds. I will be making a trip in the future! :)

My family and I have been long time customers, but over the past year we've noticed a significant decrease in quality. At one time this was the best pizza in town. Not even close anymore. They've definitely sacrificed quality for quantity. And don't even think about placing a delivery order unless you want to wait 2 hours for a cold, soggy $25 medium-sized pizza. Okay option if you can dine in during the weekday, otherwise order elsewhere.

Their chicken BBQ pizza is the greatest!! Don't forget the breadsticks either! We have been many times and the service is always A+ They are able to seat a large amount of people outside and the fans make it comfortable. The salads are also amazing. The food is delish and very filling. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxed. Beer is always ice cold.

The other reviews attest to the loyal following earned by this fine pizzaria. Several excellent "Signature" variations. Have had several of the white versions, most recently the white spinach version with mushroom & feta. The barbeque chicken was also popular with our party. Pleased to have a good selection of beers and wine, not clearly state in the online beverage menu. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Nice seating inside or outside, with lots of take-out and delivery. Located at the south end of Howard, in sight of the Bay. Glad to support this local institution.

I've lived in Tampa for 4.5 years, just went to Sally Oneal's for the first time on Saturday. The service was good, and the atmosphere is casual - a nice place to sit outside for a bit and relax - something not necessarily possible a little further up Howard Ave. I give the restaurant two stars solely on the quality of the pizza I ordered, which I thought was pretty poor. Negatives: Let me explain: I always get a baseline opinion of any pizza restaurant by ordering a basic pizza, either plain cheese or one with just a few toppings. This allows me to taste the sauce, crust, and quality of cheese. This time, I ordered a 16 inch pizza with spinach and caramelized onions. Unfortunately, Sally Oneal's served an undercooked pizza with about 2x as much cheese as a proper pizza should have. By undercooked, I mean that picking up a slice wasn't an option - they quickly collapsed as the still-soft dough could not support the cheese overload. The onions were served white, slightly soft and definitely not caramelized. Their tomato sauce was not bad, but definitely sweeter than almost all pizza sauces I've experienced. That being said, a couple of years ago I tried one or two of Sally Oneal's "specialty pizzas" at work function and they were tasty - I remember the spinach florentine in particular. I may have caught the restaurant on a bad night, but I likely won't be back soon... there are too many other places that can cook a basic pizza a lot better. Positives: You won't necessarily feel disgusting after eating their pizza. It's not the greasier, New York style of pizza such as Eddy and Sam's in downtown (which is excellent, when you're in the mood for it) but rather it seems to use fresher ingredients. Drink prices are great. House wines for $4.50, craft beers like Cigar City Jai Alai for less than $5, those are great deals. In general, service was pretty good.

Spinach, tomato, and mushroom pizza (it has a name I forgot) was delish. Not cheap but huge! And suffices for more than one meal. It is not your average joe pizza, but if you're looking for a little something extra Sally's is it.

This was good pizza; I've had better pizza. This was a good brownie; I've had better brownies. Service gets a +1. They're usually really really good servers.

Sally O'Neal's is a true neighborhood place. Small, hard benches, and pictures of old Tampa all around the place. This makes it quaint. But the real reason I visit this place is for the pizza sauce. It's a crazy delicious flavor that fresh. It makes it a much better pie in my opinion. So far, I've had only two specialty pies and my favorite is the spinach-garlic pie. Again, it's fresh ingredients that really make the difference. The only thing that's holding the place back is the crust. It's average at best. It's heartbreaking to find all these great things and the crust is a tad disappointing. If I can ever put down the pie, maybe I'll get to another tasty dish.

How have I not written this review yet?!! I am in love with Sally's pizza. I have tried most pizzas and all are quite amazing. My favorites happen to be the classic cheese pizza and as far as their signature pizzas go, my fave is for sure - the BBQ chicken pizza. BBQ Chicken pizza is like no other BBQ pizza I've ever tried. There are banana peppers, onions, chunks of bacon, chicken, cheese and BBQ sauce - I think the banana peppers are the reason my taste buds fell in love. Don't be scared of this pizza if you don't like banana peppers, they are cooked with the pizza so they lose some of their edge and add a nice flavor and crunch to the pie. Also, I really enjoy the Caesar salad as their dressing is really creamy and tasty. You wonder the reason for 4 stars instead of 5? 1st off, they are pretty expensive - maybe slightly overpriced. But mainly because of how soggy their larger sized pies are. I normally call in and pick up my dinner - I'm not sure if that plays a role in the sogginess... but EVERY time I ordered the large pizza the slices are floppy, like the cheese is too heavy or greasy to be supported by the pie crust. I strongly recommend ordering the medium pizza pies - this is never an issue with the smaller size and makes all the difference in the world. Next pizza I plan on trying is the Onion and Asiago. Sally O'Neals offers great selections and really is the best pizza place in town!

Had the chicken artichoke pizza as we have for the twenty years! It was excellent as always. Good Greek salad beforehand. Service was okay, but a little slow.

I used to love getting pizza from here as I live within walking distance. However, the last few times I've gotten take out have me questioning why I keep coming back. First of all, the time estimate we were given (30-40 minutes) for an order of a large pepperoni pizza and breadsticks was inaccurate- showed after 35 minutes and out pizza was done....but not the breadsticks. Ended up having to wait 15 minutes or so for the breadsticks, by the time we got home, the pizza was barely warm. In total, between calling and being put on hold for 5 minutes and having to wait extra time for the breadsticks to be finished, it took close to one hour for our order. On top of this, the pricing is pretty exorbitant around $24 for the stated order. I've also been charged different prices for the same order. Word to the wise, the pizza is actually better the next day when you can warm it up on a pizza stone in the oven so you can get a good crust rather than their normal mushy crust.

I went here to eat the other night with my family and the service was so incredibly bad we got up and left. We ordered drinks that never came, we ordered a salad that was brought out with no silverware or plates....we got those about 5 minutes later, asked for the drinks again...no dice. I get it when restaurants are busy, wait staff get weeded and service is slower. No problem. At the time we went in there where only 3 other tables. I paid for the salad cancelled the rest of our order and walked across the street to Bella's.

Not a Neighborhood Restaurant. Moved to Tampa in March and a couple of blocks from Sally's. Have ordered pizza from there on average once a week since the move and have stuck with them even though the middle of the pie is often soggy and the delivery guy never has any cash for change. Recently learned of their save 5 receipts and get a free large pie. Called in tonight to cash in on this deal and was told I had to spend at least $15 more dollars to get the deal on delivery. I understand I could go pick it up, but with a 4 and 2 year old, delivery is very convenient. I asked to speak to a manager and pleaded my case that I was a loyal neighborhood customer. The manager wouldn't let me finish before he told me the owners set these rules. I then informed him that I would happily pay the $2 delivery fee and if they couldn't get past this they had lost a customer. He simply said okay and hung up the phone. I would imagine the owners would have wanted to handle this In a different manner, but I won't be back to find out. What happened to neighborhood restaurants that took care of their regulars? What happened to customer service?

Sally O'Neal's is a great pizza place to be sure, and the other reviews are pretty accurate. However pizza is one of those foods that has a lot more variations and interpretations than something less complex. So my aim here is to describe the pizza as best I can. The Crust: The crust is a fairly typical hand-tossed consistency on the back, but the bottom of the pizza is very thin, so I would consider it a hybrid between hand-tossed and thin crust. The flavor is quite good and this is one of those areas that really sets a good pizza apart. I was more than happy to eat the "edges" of the crust after consuming the pizza portion. The Cheese: There is a good combination of cheeses that make for a great tasting pizza. I am not a fan of overloading the cheese, and thankfully they apply it conservatively. However this does become an issue if you get a ton of toppings, as there is definitely a space trade-off of toppings vs cheese. So choose wisely! The Sauce: The sauce is great, most places don't manage to screw this one up. I have had both the regular and the BBQ and I loved both. The Toppings: All very fresh and from the local farmer's market. This can make a huge difference in taste. There is a huge selection of oddball toppings too, so you can be adventurous. They usually allow substitutions on their specialities too so you can mix a match a little there as well. The Price: Ok so a small 12" cheese pizza is $10.20 and each regular topping is $1.65 each (premium toppings are $3.30 each). This can add up really fast depending on what you want on your pizza. The Service: It's great! I am very critical of service in my reviews and I have nothing to complain about here. Everyone is on the ball and friendly. I have to ding them one star for their prices, because they are too high in my opinion. But you are definitely getting what you pay for here so please take that into consideration. I love this place and after moving to Tampa last week I have already been twice. I am sure that I will be back many more times, but I will have to limit myself before I get fat or go broke!

This is a great location, still in the trendy area around Soho, but not down in it to the point where there is no parking. There is limited seating here, only tables for two or four people. The wait staff is very laid back, possibly to the point of sometimes not caring. This is not NY style pizza, just a regular hand tossed pizza a little thicker than most that is gas oven baked. We were here on the pizza tour and this was the first stop, so we were really hungry. The problem is that we only ordered a cheese pizza, and from reading other reviews and looking around at what other people ordered, it was not the right choice. Sally's is know for their amazing toppings, and well just plain cheese is not going to cut it. The garlic butter on the crust was a nice touch, and made you want to eat the entire slide right away. Many other customers ordered the breadsticks, which looked amazing, and the salads looked meh. I will definitely return to try a pizza with gorgonzola and other toppings, as well as some of those delicious looking breadsticks.

    (3)
  • Collin S.

Not only did I get a very delicious beef and gorgonzola pie with some garlic breadsticks that we're also excellent, but I found out if you keep 5 receipts with your name on them (they ask for your full name and associate it with your phone number when you call in)... your 6th pizza is free. Now that's my kind of deal! Pie is somewhere between standard and thick, but just covered in cheese and a tasty sauce has some kick but isn't too spicy. Would like to try their basic pepperoni at some point, but the gourmet options like asiago chicken and chicken alfredo all seem too good to pass up as well. I hope to find a favorite soon. Plus the service was fast, and it was ready on time and delivered with a smile. Since I'm soon relocating to South Tampa, I can see this place becoming a regular stop in my rotation!

Really good pizza. We got a large cheese, regular chicken artichoke, and a portabello goat cheese. The cheese was good, a doughy crust and lots of mozzarella, my son's favorite. My wife and her friend favored the chicken artichoke, tons of toppings on a thin crust. I really like the portabello goat cheese, thin crust and just the right amount of goat cheese. A little on the spendy side but a nice treat

Love Sally Oneals! The pizza is unique- I can't really compare it to any style but it's delicious. I typically order sausage and mushroom and it's so tasty. Their greek salad is divine as well!

  • Jim B.

Still one of my favorite pies in Tampa. I've known Sally and Pat since they first opened - way back I was a vendor and discovered the delicious Chicken Artichoke pizza - and thats what I have probably ordered 90% of the time since they opened in 1985. I know they have other stuff on the menu... but I just cannot seem to get past that one.... I have only ever dined in one time, since I live really close - so I can only comment on the pizza itself - which I LOVE

    (5)
  • Andy F.

This pizza is amazing, if they get your pizza topping order correct, which only seems to happen 50% of the time. However, I let it slide because this pizza simply tastes better than most (which it should, since it's expensive). It's definitely a top-5 pizza place in the area, despite the price.

  • Larissa S.

At first sight it looks like a Mum and Pop shop. The outside looks modest, as does the inside. The décor is really old fashioned. Cute place, but not for a date. Their water cups are plastic although they carry beer and wine. Their pizza is out of this world. Definitely gourmet. Stay away from forming your own combination and try one of their signature pizzas. They should know better than you do anyway right? Personally I think salads are rabbit food but they made their dressing in-house, as well as their garlic sauce which is available upon request. I have never had desert from there but I am sure that if it is made in-house it is probably pretty good. They deliver in the Hyde Park area which is a treat for my lazy bum even though it is down the street. Doesn't taste very good re-heated, so eat up.

Stop one on the Tampa Bay Pizza Tour. I think it might've been hindered by the constraints we set on our orders - the toppings seem like the stars in this joint. While we waited for our pizza, my friend watched the laden pies being carried to other tables and asked if I was sure that we had to stick to cheese pizza. I said yes. Beautiful people are pretty without makeup, and a great pizza should be good on its own. This pizza was not great. Wasn't terrible, but not great. Adequate, not-too-sweet tomato sauce, overly salty cheese, and a garlic butter crust. For the record: the crust is only supposed to get greasy after you fold the slice and let the cheese sluice off. Also for the record: that is me being slightly absurd and overly exacting. Final averaged group scores were as follows (all scores out of 5): Sauce: 2.4 Crust: 3.4 Cheese: 2.6 Seating: 2.4 Ambiance: 3.2 Service: 3.2 Cleanliness: 3.4

Not bad at all. I had the prosciutto and goat cheese pizza and really enjoyed it. Ordering and delivery was painless and the people are just plain nice. I like the "gourmet" feel and the fact that I can get extra thin crust. It's the little things, people. The bread sticks are to die for and the chocolate cake is heaven. You also can keep your receipts and when you hit 5, your 6th pizza is free. It's a little neighborhood joint and I always feel good when I support them. Def worth a visit!

We've eaten in the restaurant a few times and loved it. The pizza has always been VERY well received and it's a place I am happy to take out of town guests to enjoy something they probably don't have back home. However, I wasn't very happy with the takeout order I got recently. I live a distance away, so it wasn't piping hot when I ate it. But, it also wasn't the pizza I ordered. I got the barbeque chicken pizza, which we've had in the restaurant before and loved. I requested no banana peppers, which the girl on the phone confirmed twice when I ordered. When I went in to pay, the cashier repeated the order "No banana peppers." I enjoyed a nice cool breeze in the shade on the patio outside while waiting for my order and was very happy when they brought it out to me smelling delicious. I should have given in to my desire and nibbled on a piece on the drive home, because there were banana peppers on it. Not a huge deal, as we could pick them off, but they do leave their flavor behind. The onions were very strong white onions that were kind of slimy. And the chicken was a bit like chicken jerky. We ate two pieces and ended up throwing the rest of it away. Very disappointing, but I learned my lesson. One - always check your order before leaving; and two - if you don't live close enough to get the pizza home while it's still warm, just eat there.

Amazing bbq chicken pizza - best i have ever had - the pizza was extremily favorful - just the right ratio of cheese to grilled sweet onions a very zesty sweet bbq sauce with light chicken.. i will order this again for sure very soon ! great place !

Good pizza in a pleasant environment. May not be the best Pizza in Tampa but is consistent and enjoyable and the food is fresh. We have been back numerous times - either take out or sit down and for the last year or so we have noticed that this place is no longer consistent in terms of food quality - pizzas are burnt or not done enough. It is our impression that there is not a strong hand at the helm and the business is somewhat leaderless - and it shows - sometimes the staff is very noisy and there is lots of action in the back and this is not conducive to the paying customer.. We will still be back but are now looking for another good pizza place - 4-11-09

This was very good pizza Toppings were on the higher-end of the pizza chain - had a few alternatives one would not find at chain or even many privately-operated places such as asiago chz, crumbled bleu, fresh basil, etc. Nothing extraordinary or bizarre mind you, but was nice. Bottom of the pie was a little overdone but moist within the center of the crust's edge. Something isn't right there, and my grandparents mentioned it's always like that - the bigger the pie, the less chance it will be done in the center. We just had a large so you'd think they would have that figured out. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Service anticipated everything - we never had to ask for drinks, etc. They even made suggestions on items "up in the air" like offering a paper plate for the kid instead of an app plate. Environment was nice, but a little stuffy for a pizza place. Maybe I'm just used to "armpit" pizza joints, but it felt a bit like my grandmothers house... if my grandmother was from Macon GA and still believed the south won the war (insert over-use of hyperbole emoticon...) Pizza came out very good. Tip from my grandparents who eat here all the time. They say the 16 inch pizzas have soggy crust in the center, so stick to the 12 inch. That didn't work out well in my favor because that meant no leftovers :( In all a very pleasant meal w/ 4 generations of my family. I'd definitely go back.

Best Pizza in Tampa!!! by far.... and the salads are great too! Recommend ordering the large one every time! even if you are not going to have it all, take it too go...trust me the dough is much better prepared and the pizza comes out delicious! We go there at least once a week, can't stand passing in front and smelling the wonderful pizza! Gotta go have some!

Their BBQ Chicken pizza is the best around. That's the reason for the five stars. I also recommend the chicken and artichoke pizza, it's a good change-up from the bbq.

You will love the pizza from Sally Oneals. My kids are sticklers for good pizza crust, and their crust is exceptional. It looked like pretzel dough pizza, but it's not. The sign says they've been around since 1985, so they have some staying power for sure, and their pizza proves this. We tried the large (20") pie "6 for the price of 4" toppings offer - kids thought it was awesome, so did we. We didn't know about this place and was heading somewhere else (Hyde Park) and found this and stopped. We are glad we did. Close to I-4 so we can get there coming from, or going back to, Orlando.

This pizza is amazing! My husband and I go here often, and his work even gets lunch from here about once a month. The espresso cake/pie is also delicious (if you don't have room, get a piece to go! You won't be disappointed). Sometimes the service is a bit lacking, you often have to hunt down your waitress, but the pizza makes up for it!

This is a hard review for me. I want to give 4 stars but they just don't quite make it. The pizza is great. The crust is on the thick side (this is not NYC style pizza) but not dense. The pizza sauce is flavorful. Not that tomato paste stuff you get at some places. The Greek salad is delicious. Just a classic Greek but so tasty. The big miss is basic service. We had a table of 7 and the waitress told us they couldn't serve us beer on tap because they didn't have any clean beer glasses!!! Can you imagine?! I said please go wash some we want beer with out pizza! We finally did get our beer after waiting for the rinse cycle. The waitress was difficult to keep on task and hard to find when we needed her. She was friendly but a bit lacking in the brain cell department. When we finally did get our orders in and got our food, as I said earlier, the pizza was great. If Sally's can work on some basic serive goals, I'd give them a 4 star review for sure.

We love Sally O'neal's it is right down the street from our house and a great place for a casual night out. We always start with their Pizza Bread Sticks and they are amazing. Great pizza and great service!

Worst service ever! Twice now I've ordered take out and it's not been ready on time (first time I was told 35 min and it took an hour with me waiting 25 minutes, then today was told 35-40 min and I arrived 45 min and my salad wasn't even ready). So had to wait for them to prepare my salad and my pizza obviously had just been sitting in the heater since it was cold, congealed and soggy. TERRIBLE, with only a oh I'm sorry. Don't eat here it's not worth the hassle to pay almost $35 for food and it's cold

I've heard from lots of pizza that the pizza is delicious, especially the artichoke pizza. As a New Yorker, I know I have high pizza standards. I finally made it here and eh. Wasn't bad, wasn't fabulous. Just average Tampa pizza. The artichoke pizza was alright but I didn't think it was anything special. The BBQ chicken pizza was pretty good, but again, nothing special. The waitress was really nice and the wine selection was pretty decent. Probably won't go back but I'm glad I finally tried it.

It doesn't look like much from the outside (nor the inside), but their pizza and garlic breadsticks are truly amazing. Their regular crust is the best I've had in a long time. It almost seems like the crust is basted with garlic and butter. Honestly, everything about this pizza is wonderful. The sauce, the high quality toppings, and the cheese all contribute to it's great taste. What really keeps me coming back for more is their amazing garlic breadsticks. They bring you a plate of these soft pizza dough strips covered with garlic, butter, and parmesan cheese. There is a pizza sauce on the side to dip it in, but you don't even need to dip it to enjoy it. They are totally awesome! All I can say is that this is now my new favorite pizza place in Tampa. I can see why it's a local favorite.

My sister and I normally love Sally's. But tonight was highly disappointing. We brought a friend with us tonight, he had never been and we knew that he would love it. We were seated and our drink order was taken. We were then ignored for almost 30mins. Our waitress looked at us from across the room multiple times and never walked over. She cleared a table near us and still didn't stop to check on us. All three of us needed refills and we wanted to order our pizza. I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and took our empty cups up to the counter. After getting the attention of the lady at the counter, I asked for refills and told them that our waitress hadn't been to our table since dropping off our drinks and that we were ready to order. Without apologizing for the wait, she went to find our waitress. When our waitress came out, she said nothing about the wait and took the cups out of my hands. She finally came to our table with new drinks and took our order. Once our food got to our table, she came by a few times to refill drinks but by this point it was too little too late. The food was great as always. But the service was terrible and ruined our experience.

I love everything on there menu. And there staff is so friendly and helpful. but unfortunately the staff let a child around 6 to 7yrs old climb on brench chairs with his dirty feet. I said something to waitress she went back n asked manager. He said its ok to have a child with no shoes in there restaurant. me personally i will think twice about dinning in!! I would have give 5stars but because of my last experience its between 2-3 star.

Placed a delivery order and was told 45 minutes to 1 hour. Jumped in the shower and missed the delivery person 20 minutes later! Called back and was told the manager stated they'd either send the cold pizza back out or it will be an hour wait for a hot one. Wouldn't even put the manager in the phone. Why give a time that's not realistic? What a joke... Learn how to take orders and forecast an accurate time, or at least care when your order takers mislead the customers. Hopefully the pizza is better then the customer service and management, although that wouldn't be saying very much.

This place has been around for many years for a reason! ITS AMAZING! It has a family restaurant feel and the pizzas are delicious! The prosciutto with goat cheese and sun dried tomato is my go-to! They also have a great Greek Salad and are very generous with feta cheese! Pro tip- save your receipts!! They'll honor them and give you a free pizza after 5!

Got a takeout white pizza with chicken, artichokes, broccoli, and black olives. It was good, but nothing too special. The crust was nice and garlicky but the pizza itself, while tasty, was a little on the dry side. With so many other great pizza places around here, I probably won't be back any time soon.

Place is a scam. I will never do business with them. Called and ordered a pizza, after 1.5 hours I called and they said they didn't deliver because something was wrong with my address. They never even tried to call me or inform of the problem. My only option was to come get the cold pizza or refund. I took the refund. If I wouldn't have called they would have never voided the charges. The people they have working here have no common sense.

Sally's is a nice family atmosphere. Tip, go on a week night, limited seating. I really enjoy their pizza and it always seems like the freshest of ingredients. The sauce is perfect. For some reason their Caesar salad is awesome as well. If you want delivery, plan an hour ahead. Parking is a bit tight so walk or ride your bike if that is an option. They do have an order online option, but I feel for a delivery it is a bit pricey.

OK, after becoming a true frequent diner, I am updating my review and increasing my star ranking to an actual 4 stars. This place is GOOD. Yes, the crust in the pizza varies each time, but it is delicious regardless. Love, love the sauce. A tasty meal each time. The salads are also super delicious. Cesar salad is always a great choice, but the greek salad is also very well done (potato salad comes with it!). Service is always friendly and speedy. If you live in the area, it's definitely a place to check out!

Hands down, the best pizza place in south Tampa. My favorite is the white pizza with fresh mozzarella, garlic, spinach and tomatoes. Oh! And their garlic bread is great too!

We have been trying several different pizza places lately and Sally O'Neal's Pizza Hotline really stood out. We loved the pizza that we got from here! I have to say that I was very surprised when we pulled into the parking lot. In South Tampa it's a common occurrence to pull your hair out when you're trying to find parking for a restaurant you are going to. That won't be a problem here because they have a very large parking lot. The restaurant is a nice mixture of tables, booths, and a small bar area that people can sit around. They have pasta and calzones on the menu, but all we wanted was pizza. Their pizza crust is definitely thicker than New York style (they don't advertise theirs as such, I'm just pointing that out). At a lot of places I will end up ordering extra sauce because places can be chintzy with it. That would not be necessary here because they were very generous with the sauce, and it was delicious. There was a refrigerated display case that had decadent looking slices of cheesecake, pie, and cake. I was so stuffed from the pizza that I wasn't even remotely tempted but they looked good. The sign outside says that they have been open since the mid-1980s. With pizza like this I can understand why. I am going to become a regular here.

I know a lot of pizza places have one server no big deal. But when u have one person behind the counter just reading a book not helping that's crazy I'm a server myself. I would of smacked her with it. If it was me. But when two tables sit down after you and they had their salads and pizza before you get yours. That's crazy I mention it to the server she stated they were short handed. The server told us she saw our pizza coming out of the oven right now. So when I told her our pizzas were cold all she could say was " really". I remember why we haven't came out here in a long time. And now we won't be back and maybe not ever.

Typical pizza spot atmosphere with dark wood flooring & dinning area. When you walk into the place you can see the open kitchen area. The pizza was delicious in taste & made with good ingredients. However the middle of the pizza was soggy & personally I don't find that acceptable for the complete pizza experience. I hope they can take the time to better their techniques & maybe I will try them out again.

Chicken artichoke, chicken artichoke, chicken artichoke! Holy Hannah!! I had this the 1st 3x I visited and was not disappointed at all. 2nd good point, is the leftovers. If you try and eat your pizza the next day and it tastes like crap, it's because that establishment used crappy ingredients and lots of oil and cheese to hide it. So it tastes good hot, but not ever again. That is not this place. Leftovers cold or reheated are just as good as when they originally drop the pizza at your table. I've started exploring the menu now, and the staff is great about making suggestions on how to improve or mod the staples in the menu. Love the staff, love that I can walk there because the parking lot can get packed (which shows how good it is). 10/10 would attend again. Don't get FOMO, go now. Pro tips- if you go from 5-7 your pizza comes out real fast and the beers are 2 4 1 They have a side salad that is more than splittable. They make all the salads in this size.

Food is usually good. Love their Greek salad minus the potato salad. Delivery always takes an hour plus which is extremely annoying. Overall, I think their food is some of the best pizza and a perfect place to have wine and pizza.

The first time we ate here it was great! The calzone especially was really tasty. The second time we came back and thought there was something off about the pizza. The crust was really disappointing. The third and final experience with this restaurant is the real reason for only two stars. Actually, based on that experience alone I would only give it one star. We tried to order delivery one Friday or Saturday night when both mine and my boyfriend's cars were in the shop. When I placed the order, the girl on the phone told me it would be an hour and a half. I figured that was pretty typical for a weekend night, so no worries there. About 45 minutes later (and after my card had already been charged for the order), another employee called me back to tell me that Sally O'Neal's does not deliver to my address. I literally live 2.2 miles away from the restaurant. I don't really have a problem with the fact that they don't deliver to me, it's just that the customer service in this case was so terrible. I've worked in restaurants before, and from my perspective the appropriate thing to do would have been to deliver the pizza anyway, and politely let us know that in the future they would not be able to do this. Given that the food wasn't all that spectacular anyway, we've never been back since. New York New York Pizza on Howard Ave. is much better, and they seem to have a wider delivery range.

I eat a lot of pizza and I had no idea what I was missing out on until I experienced this place! The pizza is amazing. I highly recomend the TACO PIZZA. It will blow your mind! They use fresh taco ingredients like avacado, tomatoes, ground beef and lettuce on top of the pizza crust. Similar to a salad pizza but ten times better than any other pizza I have ever tried... anywhere! Anytime I come into Sally O'neal's, the staff is extremly nice and treats you like a friend or family. If you have never tried this place, go now... you will fall in love!

OK, I've been waiting to try this place for a while now, and today finally seemed like the right day to grab my coworker and drag her along with me to test out the pie here. Let me say that I'm super glad I did! It's an unassuming little joint, right across from Bella's on South Howard in South Tampa. There's probably enough seating for a lunch crowd but I can imagine this place getting packed on a Friday or Saturday night. It was clean and smelled delicious! We were greeted by our very friendly server (I wish I got his name!) and told to sit anywhere we liked. We ordered some of their pizza breadsticks for the table, our own 12" pizzas (She wanted wheat crust, I wanted regular), and I ordered a lasagna to take home for dinner. First...THE BREADSTICKS.. Wow! They were *amazing*! They were hot, fresh, garlicky, buttery and grated parmesan cheesey-ey, and they were served with a very bright, fresh tasting marina dipping sauce. It was a large serving, and both of us felt guilty after devouring the whole batch. (Not really that guilty...) Second... THE PIZZA... Wow again! They do not cheat you on sauce, cheese or toppings! There was plenty. The toppings tasted fresh (sausage and pepperoni on mine, mushroom and pepperoni on hers), the sauce, much like the marinara from our breadsticks, was bright and fresh tasting, and the crust was soft and chewy, but crispy at the edge with a nice buttery taste. Finally... THE LASAGNA... Meh... Just kidding - Wow yet again! I'm actually eating it as I write this. It's what reminded me to review this place to begin with! It's full of meat, mozzarella cheese and delicious sauce. There's just enough ricotta to notice, which is perfect, because if you ask me, a little ricotta goes a long way and I don't care for places who use it as a filler to cheat you on everything else. In conclusion, I loved it. (Can you tell?) It wasn't the cheapest lunch in the world, but I will definitely go back. In fact, I can't wait to go back to this place and drag a few other members of my team along with me. The service was great and the food was excellent, and that makes a restaurant just perfect.

Was super excited to try this place because most people have named this place when I've asked for the best pizza in Tampa. I see why. It's really good. Better than Paci's. Almost as good as Eddie & Sam's. But Grimaldi's still rules this town. Started with a great half salad. Went with a traditional garden with Italian dressing. Good stuff. Now the pizza... greasy, but in a good way. LOTS of cheese and sauce always makes me happy and they don't skimp. I hate having to order extra sauce. You don't have to here. Unfortunately the sauce was just ok though. The pie was a little undercooked, but the crust was good n' chewy. Waitress was nice and attentive. This place makes my Top 10 list in Tampa, but it's not quite the best.

Very nice staff with fast delivery to most of south Tampa, but very average pizza. Perhaps if you want a pizza with fancy toppings, this is a great place, but if you want a pizza with more normal toppings, this place is nothing special. The crust is a little on the thick side if you prefer NY style, as my husband and I do. The location is nice, right in SoHo, but I think there are better places for pizza in the area.

Whatever you do do not order for delivery from this restaurant. We had a terrible ordeal tonight with this place. We ordered for delivery to a very nearby address and they said that the order will arrive shortly.sadly, no less than 40 minutes after the order is placed, they called us to tell us that they not only could not deliver the order because we were on the other side of Kennedy Boulevard and only by about 100 yards not to mention, but that they would not make the situation right and send a delivery driver to our house to correct the situation. I told them that they would receive the poor review from us and they held their ground and hung up. These are the things that give restaurants poor reputations. Do right by your customer and the customer will do right by you. Bad choice Sally's. You failed your customer and refused to correct your failure.

Had the pizza breadsticks as well as a the sauce-less pizza (not usually my style but the gf was feeling it). Breadsticks were not as flavorful as I was hoping; they dump A LOT of parmesan onto them and it kind of felt like I was eating a can of Kraft Parmesan. Sauce-less pizza was really good; great quality of ingredients, and I'm a fan of a thicker crust without crossing the line into deep dish, which Sally's did perfectly. Overall, great pizza, subpar breadsticks. I'll be back because of quality of pizza to say the least.

I usually like this place a lot. The good quality ingredients and they have great crust. However, my last experience with them ordering a their special Taco pizza delivery was a nothing short of a disaster. On a non-busy night the delivery took almost 2 hours which resulted in a soggy cold pizza. Delivery taco pizza probably isn't the best judge of what is a usually great restaurant, but they allowed poor quality to happen. This took what would have been a 4 star rating to 2 stars simply because of how much they ruined my dinner. I'll try it again, but it might be awhile.

Filthy,I went there the other night and ordered a pizza and waited 20 by that little bar sipping a glass of wine and the way there glass mirrors are set up you can see into the kitchen.as i am watching one of the cooks takes a drag from his cigarette .WOW thats a no no.directly from your mouth to your hand and then proceeds to grab some cheese to spinkle it on to to salads without gloves on.next he takes a sip of a soda from a paper cup and puts it down on his work area.the final straw was he takes a napkin and blows his nose. from what i know being trained in the food industry is no eating or drinking where food is prepared and now blowing your nose and not washing hands..so with all that i stood up walked up to the counter and said how much for the wine cancel my order and i will never be back.thanks to the cook with the red hair.yes you know that you did.

Their pizza is always very good and not at all like the chain pizzerias. Sally O'Neal's is a great place for pizza for lunch or dinner. Lots of choices, although my current favorites are the spinach and tomato veggie pie and the spinach Florentine pie. This is the only place where I will get spinach on the pie because their combinations using spinach are just that good. The chicken and artichoke pie and the portabella/goat cheese pie are also excellent. Service is generally good, although I have to mention that in the past I would sometimes get frustrated with slow service at lunch. They seem to have addressed that issue.

One of the three best pizza places I've been to - as long as Conner makes the pie! I'm from NY and want my pizza the way I like it. Conner does it right! Great sauce - great toppings and great texture. Never had bad service - fresh iced tea. I love this place! I'll only eat pizza at two places in Tampa, this is one of them!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
