So, we liked the Pitas Repiblic that closed down on Tampa Road in Oldsmar, so since I needed a late lunch we decided to pop in. The vibe in here is not like the one we were used to. It doesn't look as clean for one. Also, I asked the lone employee if I could have the ingredients for the "mid east piece" on a pita with gyro, she told me that all the ingredients are posted on the menu...I kinda don't even know what she meant by that so I just told her that I wanted the "Feta Supreme" with Gyro. My husband ordered a low carb pocket with falafel. Note the whole time we were ordering she kept turning around to watch some mystery show on t.v. So we sat and waited. She called out the names of the meals and people walked up to get them from her. She then looked up and told my husband that they didn't have any pockets left, but the Pitas are whole wheat. So he said okay. She calls out falafel and supreme. We open our Pitas before leaving and my pita had chicken in it. So I said, this has chicken in it. She looked up and said, that's what you ordered. I said, "no I didn't. The menus clearly says feta supreme and you can pick your meat and I told you gyro." She then tells me that I wasn't specific enough, but she make me another one. Really! Of course she will, but no apology, just adamant that I wasn't specific. If she was paying attention instead of watching t.v. Maybe she would have noticed how specific I was. So we leave to get an oil change and car wash and ate our Pitas there. They weren't horrible, but they weren't good either. They also weren't very hot. So if the food was at least something to yelp about, I'd give it more stars, but since it wasn't I'd say don't wast your time at this Pitas republic. Zero stars for service. One star for at least having food to serve...but only one way with no deviations.

I have never left a review on yelp but I had to let others know how horrible this place is. The diet coke machine was out of syrup and the TeX Mex was horrendous. They usually close a half hour before their scheduled hours and aren't open on Sundays contrary to the pita republic website.

I love all Mediterranean food but not a fan of (bread / wraps) type food. I was glad to see platters on the menu. I ordered the Mediterranean Chop a bed of lettuce with rice, meat and condiments. Basically all you can have in a wrap in a nice bowl. It comes with Hummus and pita bread also, flavorful and good price. Parking can be a bit challenging depending the time of the day but once inside it was a quick in and out visit.

Perhaps they changed ownership recently. There was nice gentleman that was very friendly. Now, there are two girls that work there and the customer service is horrible! I love the food, but I would at least like a smile or a pleasant greeting when I enter the store. The girls' won't acknowledge your order. They make it, slide it across the counter and tell you the price. They obviously hate their job, but won't quit. Get the food and go.

I just saw a girl tale money out of the register and put in her tip jar. What kind of criminals do they have working here?

Got a chicken pita for lunch. Choice of sauces for the pita according to the menu posted on their wall were: Tzatziki, Honey Dijon, BBQ, chipotle, island curry, tahini, garlic, or Thai Peanut. I ordered Thai Peanut sauce. I took my first bite into the pita and knew it wasn't Thai peanut sauce at all but rather a teriyaki type sauce. No worries, I brought the remaining pita to the counter and said there must have been a mix up and politely requested a pita with Thai peanut sauce instead. Both employees informed me that the only Thai peanut sauce that is available here is in fact the teriyaki sauce that they originally served me. They were adamant that the teriyaki sauce is also the Thai peanut sauce. I told them that in fact Thai peanut sauce is very different from teriyaki sauce and then the two irritated employees proceeded to offer me a sample cup of the teriyaki sauce masquerading as the Thai peanut sauce (it's close to Halloween:) to prove that it really was the correct sauce. I politely refused the sample(my pita was sufficiently coated in said teriyaki) and asked them why they don't cross out the Thai peanut sauce option on the menu. They said it was impossible. I'll try to add a pic of the menu to show that there is no mention of teriyaki whatsoever. Bottom line is that the pita was made of good quality ingredients and tasted fresh and delicious but it's not what I ordered and they made no attempt to fix the incorrect signage.

They have a fairly extensive menu of pita wraps & salads, from gyros to falafel to veggies to chicken. I love their gyros wrap with feta cheese & a healthy dose of hot sauce (available on the other side of the counter). Basically Middle Eastern fast food -- tasty & pretty healthy (certainly compared to, say, McD's; maybe a bit less so than Subway depending on what you get). $5-8 per menu item or so.

I went last weekend for a quick bite before a long drive. I wanted something sorta healthy. I walked in side and first noticed a broken floor. The plan was very small and lacked any decor. I looked at the menu on the wall and happened to look around and noticed behind the prep arra and back into the store room. Hard not to miss any of it. It was dirty and messy. Stuff on the floor like it had not been swept in a while. Prep table open and counter dirty. I noticed all of this as I was waiting for someone to come out of the back to acknowledge I was there. I chose to leave and find a cleaner place.

Last couple times I've been in the friendly gentleman wasn't there anymore. The couple of lady's working there now are not friendly and don't seem to care about taking care of customers. Hopefully they can get some halfway decent employees in there or I doubt I'll be back.

Rarely do one star ratings, but Pita's left me no choice. When basic fundamentals are not met, you gotta bring out the dreadful one star. Let me start with the pros: .........hang on I'll think of something.... well they are in a pretty good location and have a cool sign outside. now the cons: Place lacks three Cs... charm, cleanliness, and customer service. Used to be a fan of Pita's, and will probably go to other locations in the future but this particular one needs to start over or it'll be out of business soon. There's only one person running the entire place, cashier and preparing orders. That's not so bad when the person in charge has it down to a science and is on their A game. The server at this particular location didn't crack a smile and appeared very disinterested. I saw a lady placing an order attempting to strike a conversation and share a laugh just to get snubbed. The establishment was very uninviting, at first I considered to dine in, but after walking inside, it just felt cramped and a little dirty. Needless to say, I got my order to go. The food lacked spirit, it wasn't prepared the way I'm used to having it at other Pita's Republic establishments, took a few bites and threw the rest away. I don't know what the hell happened. Tend to rate places based on certain factors, food, service, atmosphere, and overall experience. Sad to say this particular Pita's failed. So, yeah... Methinks not sounds about right.

I've read all the reviews and been here a couple four times for lunch, so I'm going to make my review as fair & middle of the road as possible. Food: The food isn't that bad. Despite other negative factors the food is decent. I've gotten the gyro all four times I've been here and it was exactly what I expected. It didn't blow me away but also didn't disappoint. I'd say it was exactly what I would expect from a Greek fast food restaurant. Service: Could employees look any less happier with their jobs? I don't expect them to be bubbly and cheerful but the people behind the counter look downright depressed to be at work. Every person I've seen working here has the appearance that she loathes what she's doing. Atmosphere: Not inviting at all, like another reviewer stated. The location is nice but the insides need a makeover. It's drab and the floors look dirty. Overall: The food isn't bad and not a bad option if your in the area for lunch and want Greek food. The service and decor leaves a lot to be desired, as it seems management puts almost nothing into this aspect of their business. So maybe stop by if you're in the area but don't go out of your way to come here.
