I've been going to Pita's for years. The staff is friendly and the meat is always tender. The ztaziki sauce is tasty and the veggies are fresh on pitas. They also have quite a bit of vegetarian options. Very affordable and filling!

I've been a long time fan of Pita's and used to visit this location over a decade ago when I needed to visit the USF library for research projects. Hubby and I were recently in need of a quick meal and I knew he would be thrilled with anywhere he can grab a gyro. We happened to visit on Meatless Monday which was great for me since I was in the mood for falafel. Our food was ready quite quickly. My wrap was wonderful and while the Hubby didn't rate the gyro as his best ever, he proclaimed it "better than most" (he's a gyro connoisseur, just go with it). The restaurant was clean and welcoming and our dine-in experience was pleasant. We did have a little trouble with one of our soda choices being out of syrup but the staff was lovely in making a point to come tell us when it was refilled. Good food, good price and quality I've come to count on!

I tried Pita's Republic for the first time last week and was impressed not just with their food but also with the prices. Almost everything on the menu is under $7 and there is also a 10% USF discount which is pretty awesome. The portion sizes are just right to make a meal and its often hard to find healthy food at a good price point, which is one of the sad realities you notice whenever you try to eat better, luckily you can get both here. I went for their Meatless Mondays which offers veggie pitas for $3.99 and enjoyed a delicious hummus tabouli pita. The fresh quality of their veggies that were added on top was noticeable and I personally loved that they had a number of Arizona Iced Teas available for purchase because Arizona Iced Tea is one of my faves! The service was also satisfactory and the employee was helpful when I asked questions during my first visit. Overall, I was impressed and very happy with the food and prices and will be back soon for sure.

I've always seen various "pita" places around Tampa but I've honestly never been to one before this. I stopped at Pita's Republic on my way home from work, and was immediately overwhelmed with choices. I'm honestly not a huge fan of Mediterranean type food, and I picked a wrap probably farthest from that : a chicken fajita creation. It was HUGE(I could only eat one half) and pretty scrumptious. Its loaded down with chicken, rice, jack cheese, grilled onions and peppers, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was really creamy from the melted cheese & guac, and everything tasted great. I also indulged in a peach malibu smoothie (peach, banana, and pineapple juice) which was completely refreshing and some pretty decent baklava. A pretty wierd combination of things, but all delicious nonetheless. Ill definitely come back again.

While the portions are plentiful, the quality was drab. I ordered a combination pita and there was zero flavor to it. While I admit I opted to subtract the onions and tomato, the meat was bland. I ended up adding condiments and spices of my own (this was a take-out order) to give it at least a bit of taste. The boyfriend ordered a smoothie and requested there be no sugar added. The employee happily obliged, but it turned into horror when the boyfridnd watched him scoop out what looked like pie filling into the smoothie cup. "Real fruit smoothie" as they advertise. You may as well just buy a can of pie filling, cut that mother open and shove a straw into it. It didn't taste bad, but it was not what was advertised and expected.

Ordered from here at work, wanted to do delivery but they didn't have anyone on staff that day to do delivery. However the food was AMAZING!! So fresh and so good! I have gone to other locations and the food is not as good as this location. I will now only go to this one!

I was always satisfied with my gyro and feta greek salad until today. The Gyro meat was dry, not fresh sliced. The amount of feta cheese in my gyro and feta cheese salad amounted to less than a teaspoonful. The tomato slices were cut so large i had to cut them in thirds to eat them. One more experience like today's and I quit the place.

The very first Pita's! I've loved this little place for over 10 years, back when it was still called Pita's. The food is always delicious and reasonably priced. The ingredients are always fresh, tasty, and keep my tummy full :-) They have a ton of options on their menu, including yummy vegetarian items. My favorite is the Soy Riblet pita, which was hard to get for a little while because it was in such a high demand. The Mediterranean guy that runs the place during the early afternoons is really cool and friendly, but the Egyptian guy that works there on the nights and weekends isn't as friendly and always seemed to get annoyed whenever I asked him about items on the menu I haven't tried before.

The food is delicious. Compared to the other pita producers in the area, Byblos is this locations only rival (Byblos have nicely wrapped wraps whereas Pita Republic is a delicious Tzatziki filled mess). The staff is lacking though compared to Byblos. I'm not saying that there needs to be more staff, just staff that isn't texting while I order or delays my order to talk on the phone and text (had this experience at both locations in the area: walk-in and drive-thru). If you need a quick bite and don't care for customer service and can handle a little sloppiness, then this place will be your base. Make sure to use that student discount (10% off). They usually add it by default, but just flash it here and there and you should be good.

The food here is pretty decent. They microwave the falafel before giving it to you versus Byblos who fries it fresh to order. Also, you don't have much of a choice on what goes inside, again, versus Byblos who will let you put as much of whatever you want inside. If you're waiting to get your car fixed at Tuffy's (shout out to Tuffy's who is the most awesome car fixer establishment ever!) then this place is right next door. Be prepared to need to shower after you leave this place. You and your clothes, even your hair will smell like falafel when you leave. The food is pretty fresh, and decently priced, not a bad option if you're in the area.

If I was only grading the USF location of Pita's Republic on food, the rating would be a 4. They have ridiculously good pitas there at an affordable price. This is why they've been a college staple for 20 years. The ingredients are always fresh...in 20 years of giving them business, I've never had a bad pita there. Unfortunately, the man who works at this location (at least, most every time I've visited) is uncomfortably gruff. I mean, he doesn't have to stand there grinning like an idiot, but scowling and sounding irritated make an definite impression on customers, especially when experienced every time. That said, the grumpy guy makes a damned good pita. If you can get over his attitude, it's worth the trip.

Watch Out! I went there today 4/28/12 and order a pita, a spanakopita and a drink. The receipt says $12.07. The pita is $5.95, the spanakopita is $1.75 and a soda $1.59. This is all printed correctly on the receipt but the total on the receipt is $12.07( the items add up to $9.29 or $9.94 with tax). The clerk argues with me, then adds it up on a calculator, sees that I am right and still insists I pay $12.07. He said the register is adding items which are not printed on the receipt but get added to the total? I get my refund and leave.

Stopped in for a falafel sandwich after touring USF and I was content as I drove him. Falafel is good but not remarkable. A very acceptable option nonetheless. Served in a flatbread with ample vegetable accompaniments, I won't mind stopping in for another.

I'm giving 4 stars because I haven't tried enough at Pita Republic to truly say that they are perfect. However, the greek salad is one of my favorites and the Tex-Mex wrap is so incredibly delicious (and it warms up nice too, which I appreciate for leftover lunch the next day). The staff is always friendly and the service is so quick!
