Pach's is a great little diner right near Bayshore. They are quick and friendly. I go there sometimes when the nearby Brunchery is too busy and I want something a bit cheaper. The menu is big and they have lots of yummy stuff to choose from. I stick to the standard two egg breakfast but my friends love their waffles.

Delicious greasy spoon! Food is reliable and inexpensive. Can't go wrong with the pancakes, eggs, and crispy bacon. Biscuits are only so-so and the Belgian waffles are frozen so I'd skip them. Friendly, fast service and the owner is a sweetheart. Even when the line is out the door it moves quickly. Omelets are the size of the plate. Be sure to go with an appetite!

Great breakfast place! Hubby and I were in this part of town and wanted to give it a try since I've always seen it but never gave it a try. I'm so happy we did =) My husband wished there was a diner of some sort here in Tampa, and when we arrived he loved the atmosphere. Our waitress was so nice and everything came out fast, cooked to order. I ordered their special eggs benedict which were amazing, (anything that is on a biscuit is amazing just fyi) and he got the western omelet. So goooood! I am both happy and sad about this place...happy that it was so good and will definitely be coming back soon, but sad b/c it is far away from me. That could be a good thing though-as my waistline says so. hehe

ABSOLUTELY NOT A PLACE TO GO!!!!!!!!! We tried this place since it was close to my wife's work. The food was sub par to say the least. We were not given all the food we ordered. Then they attempted to charge us for the food we never received. While my wife was discussing the situation with the cashier I noticed one of the employee's children running around the restaurant waving a plunger around. Although humorous it is disgusting to see in a restaurant. To top all of this off the cashier got an attitude with my wife when she asked if they gave a military discount..... They do realize they are a few miles from a military installation don't they? If they choose not to offer a discount that is fine, but it is not something to get attitude over. I have made sure that everyone I know on base will not be going here and I would suggest that no one does!!!

Huge portions and a great price. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. You might have to wait for a table but it will be worth it.

Diner food at a great price. It looks a little intimidating. Walk in, turn right and push into a chair in the dining room. There are always people talking table to table, there are almost always a couple of cops enjoying eggs, and enjoy biscuits and gravy with the big shots in this town. Prepare to tuck into a great breakfast, you will get ample home fries, well done eggs and good service. Do not pass up omelettes or skillets, order with confidence, they are great items. Eggs Benedict are excellent here. Prices are great and portions are good, Miss Isun is not going to send you away hungry. She is a friendly owner who always is working and does her best to give you a great meal.

I used to really like this place, but went for breakfast this morning and more and more I just think it's really dirty. The staff is mostly friendly, the food is served hot, their options are many.....but that's where the positives end. The floor being carpet always looks dirty, you have to go through the food prep area to get to and from the restroom - that's just unsanitary... The coffee always comes served with a spoon already in the cup which I cannot stand - I have no idea what was or is on that spoon. On a previous visit, 3 of us sat up at the bar/counter and watched as people took and prepped food behind the counter and it just was sub par cleanliness and some weird prep things like cutting a banana in slices before peeling it....then peeling the individual slices... It's too bad because it's a great neighborhood spot. I just wish it were cleaner.

Amazing service. Everyone was real nice and welcoming. The food was great too both in quantity and quality. Also, the prices are great.

This is a hidden bargain in an otherwise pricey area of Tampa. The food is good, plentiful, and at bargain prices. I got a big stack of blueberry pancakes for only $5.50. The only thing I wasn't too crazy about was the service. Our server was like on speed and running all over the place. I ended up picking that up from her and rushing through my pancakes. Slow down some, it's ok if your customers wait an extra two minutes. The diner is small but they've managed to have plenty of tables inside. If you can ride your bike, or walk there as parking may be limited. Place is good, and I will be back.

I came here for the first time with a friend and we both absolutely loved it! It was a Sunday morning so we expected the wait to be long (like most breakfast south Tampa restaurants at this time) but we probably only waited about 10 minutes before a seat opened for us. Coffee was great and regularly refilled. I ordered the veggie and turkey omelette with rye toast and a side of fruit. I take my sides of fruit very seriously and this place didn't disappoint. They even added banana which is really seen on a side a fruit. Thumbs up on that. As for the omelette, it was amazing and so large that I made another meal out of it. Best part is it was only $7. Honestly can't think of anything negative. This will be one of my new top brunch spots!

Great breakfast spot in South Tampa. Very casual, diner style restaurant with fast service and a lot of people. I went here for the first time recently and had the eggs benedict which was delicious. Also tried a bite of country fried steak skillet and pancakes. Overall good price, good portions, good food. Will be back to try more!

Awesome little hole in the wall breakfast place that has the feel of an old fashion diner. It's usually very busy on the weekends because the food is excellent with generous portion sizes so I usually try to grab a spot at the bar, the bayshore special is my personal favorite scrambled eggs on top of a croissant with asparagus, bacon and hollandaise sauce you can't go wrong ordering it.

    (5)
  • Keval K.

This is my favorite breakfast spot in Tampa. It's a cute little restaurant all the servers are soooo friendly. Service is fast! I usually have the everything skillet and my wife has the biscuits and gravy! It's all so tasty! Today I'm trying the western and I'm sure it'll be amazing as well!!

    (5)
  • Fran D.

Pach's Place serves your basic diner breakfast food. I think they effectively turn tables as regardless of the line during weekend brunches, the wait is never too long. The food comes out quickly as well so it's a great in and out spot! I had the standard pancake, bacon and eggs and it was nothing to rave about, same as those at other diners. Service was quick though!

HORRIBLE management!!!!!! Threatened me and refused to sell Me food as soon as she got upset!!!!!! Called me an idiot and kept hanging up on me and SCREAMING at me!!! I guess she was raised by animals because she had no respect for her business or herself. This place should be ashamed themselves!!!!!

Remember your friends talking about the "Freshman 15" when you went to college? Well, be prepared to go off your diet when you walk into Pach's. This is the best diner food I've had for breakfast since relocating to Tampa. Huge fan. Had the biscuits and gravy, side of eggs and bacon - and they stayed with me all day - "stick to your ribs" food as my grandma would say! Just go. This is a place you have to experience to appreciate - if you like diners, a lot of good food, crowded/loud places, and leaving feeling stuffed!

When dealing with that early morning Saturday hunger that strikes, Pach's Place is sure to satisfy. Although being introduced to this little South Tampa gem more than a year ago, I haven't been frequently visiting until recently. Everything is excellent--service is very attentive and the food is consistently excellent and the portions are generous. Laura is a great server and is sure to put a smile on your face. My "go-to" breakfast is the turkey and vegetable omelette with home fries. Delicious! Everything I've seen served here is delectable and comes out in a timely fashion as soon as it's cooked. You won't have to wait long here to devour your food. It gets busy on weekends so if you arrive after 9am expect a little bit of a wait, as the servers and the food comes out quick people are always in and out. The counter provides seating for parties of two or individual diners. Give Pach's a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Anything and everything you could expect from a local diner. This isn't a place to sit for hours at dipping your coffee. It's quick paced and the bill promptly is set on the table after your half way through the meal. The breakfast served is hearty and perfect for a Sunday morning after a weekend of debauchery. This isn't some fancy breakfast/brunch spot with matching mugs or perfectly set tables. It's a diner to come fill up on for a few bucks. Monday-Friday before 11am you can get 2 eggs, choice of meat, home fries and pancakes for under $5! I like to add a side of hollandaise to my order to slather on top of everything if feeling slightly hung over.. It seems to always make me feel better..:) This is my go to place when not in the mood to cook and need something ASAP. The service is very fast and food is always good ( for the price)

I can't figure out why people love this place. I've had better food at Denny's and that's just sad. Quaint spot with a very fast spaced diner feel, unique for Tampa BUT the coffee was terrible, the pancake syrup was so watered down I could have poured it into a cup and made you think it was coke...my eggs were really undercooked... The waffles resembled rubber...just an awful experience :( Super cheap but never again.

We were going to try Pinky's this morning but they were closed for the holiday's so we came to Pach's - it's never bad here!

    (4)
  • William S.

One of the best skillets I have ever had (everything skillet). Had to wait a little bit, but it was worth it. Didn't care for the coffee, but if it's hot and black, I'm drinking it.

  • C P.

What I ordered: Coffee Water Grapefruit Juice a BLT with a fried egg on it Homefries A small side of pancakes What I got: 30% juice, "grapefruit juice beverage" Dishwater masquereding as coffee A sandwich consisting of a large, white chunk of iceberg lettuce, some burnt bacon with a fried egg and tomato. Fried potatoes for the AARP palate. A few sad, rubbery pancakes that arrived late (as in AFTER our check was dropped off), and tasted exactly like the butter and syrup I sparingly smeared on them... and nothing more. A mushy pickle spear. Really, South Tampa? Does this place get 4.5 stars because all of you reviewers are 60+ years old, or because you're young and sheltered, and have never traveled north of Kennedy? I mean, have you never been to the Three Coins? Or, heck, even Waffle House for that matter?

  • Billy M.

How have I missed this place! Awesome breakfast with huge portions. I had country fried steak on Saturday and had to come back for the corned beef on Sunday. Staff is the kind of Midwest friendly that makes you feel instantly at home. Happily drove by five better known south tampa brunch places with 1 hour waits to get the sausage gravy at Pach's.

  • Angus W.

Pronounced "Patches" Place My other (Pinky's) favorite breakfast place in Tampa! Best prices around and top quality food in an old diner setting. This isn't a studied old diner like Daily Eats (very good) but a two room place with some seriously ugly formica tables, a real diner/coffee shop experience. Great food, big servings and incredibly low prices. Great blueberry pancakes. The staff is nice, friendly and efficient. A large selection of food too, good hollandaise sauce etc... My meal (4.85) was supposed to come with 4 slices of bacon, BUT! I got 6 1/2 slices, potatoes, two eggs and three pancakes. Yum, just YUM!

    (4)
  • Luis M.

Food is great and cheap. Very small place and sometimes you will feel crammed but it's worth it. I highly recommend it a non pretentious, dinner styled breakfast!!!!!

    (4)
  • Chris C.

I work upstairs and love Pach's and Kathy and all the other ladies are amazing. They work their butts off to ensure everyone is happy and the portions are huge so you will almost always have leftovers.

    (5)
  • Josiah G.

Just like some other great breakfast joints in South Tampa, you're probably going to have to wait for a table. The staff does a great job trying to get people seated though. The food has always been consistently good and I've been eating here since I was a little kid. Everything is always cooked perfectly and they make the best home fries in Tampa!

  • K M.

Pretty good food. Has the feel of a diner. My favorite is the bayshore special. Very crowded on the weekends but you can definitely get a table during the week. They do need to work on the cleanliness and i have noticed there are a lot of flies. Kinda gross but it is florida. Been here a few times before and I did notice they raised their prices a lot so it went from very reasonable to just ok price wise.

  • Rob L.

Love this place!! It's close to my new apartment. The food is great and the price is just right! Portions are huge! The service is spot on and you get the feel that you are in a small neighborhood diner. Note. It's very crowded on the weekends. Plan accordingly

    (4)
  • Kate E.

Classic diner. Huge portions & cheap. Perfect for breakfast! Not as much hassle as other Soho breakfast spots. Probably hasn't changed in 50 years. Gets a little crowded on weekends but the turn around is quick. I've only had their omelets and skillets which were good.

This place is always busy, always packed to the brim. But there is usually a reason....the locals know where to go for great breakfast food in south Tampa. Not a place for an intimate dining experience, it is loud and people will often accidentally bump into you. But if you want great food then come here. The eggs benedict is the best in the city.

Visited this place twice now and I'm definitely a fan. As my profile states, I'm more about ambiance and good service than food. But Pach's Place has it all. I'm a southern girl from Tennessee stuck in a beach bum state. So when I found this hole-in-the-wall gem, I couldn't have been happier. It feels like the old country cafés I've visited so many times. The kind of place where the waitresses treat you like you come in every day even if it's your first time. The decor isn't anything fancy. In fact, it's a little shabby. But it feels right for the vibe of the place. And the food... every time I and two other friends have visited, it's been delicious home cooking. Breakfast and lunch were equally satisfying. You may have to wait in line, and the place is so small, you'll probably get to know the other patrons pretty well as you rub elbows with them. But the relaxed, hospitable nature of the place lends itself to repeat visits and a good time.

Best breakfast in town! A large (3 or 4 egg) western omelet with grits and 3 large pancakes.....all cooked to perfection for less than $7!? Man, I miss South Tampa.

    (5)
  • Bryan B.

Best hangover food in Tampa! Hole-in-the-wall diner-esque place. Quick service, great food, cheap prices. And everyone is so friendly!

    (5)
  • Allison N.

This place needs a higher rating. One of the better breakfast places in town, and at the best price too. Their omelets are massive. You get tons of food for a little under $6 here. I can't think of anywhere where you can get a meal for that cheap except maybe a fast food restaurant. The servers are really friendly and remember you if you come in a lot. Miss Isun is always there too and she is really sweet! I love coming here and will keep coming back as long as I live in Tampa.

  • Nick Z.

The Good: Let' me start with the face that the food was good. I ordered some kind of meat lovers skillet and it was really delicious. The OK: Our server was really nice, but she was probably in "the weeds" a bit and forgot to bring my drink and was running around a little crazy. The Bad: The kitchen looked dirty. From what I remember our server was handling and buttering my GF's toast with her hands in plain site. I'm not sure if that is a normal thing in restaurants, but I guess i was always hoping they used gloves when handling food. I'm not sure I'd go back but my GF goes there every so often and isn't as crazy as I am about germs!

  • Dave Z.

This place is by far the greatest bang for your buck when it comes to getting more then you paid for. Everything on their menu is excellent. Try a skillet you won't be disappointed. Watch out for weekend mornings this place fills up quick but the wait is quick. Enjoy

  • Zach H.

I'm an egg slut and absolutely love breakfast food, so when I heard about this place I knew I had to try it. Pach's reminds me of those great small-town, local diners where you can sit at the counter or grab a table... either way it's first come, first serve, so plan appropriately (especially on the weekends). This low-priced diner has awesome and friendly service. They also serve lunch, but it seems that more people come for the breakfast than anything else. They have all of the breakfast classics like Eggs Benedict, Country Fried Steak, Steak & Eggs, omelettes and side favorites like grits, pancakes, waffles, french toast. The Eggs Benedict and Country Fried Steak were ordered during my last visit. The Eggs Benedict came with a side of home fries, which were essentially chunks of potato cooked on the griddle... not as much crispy-ness as you would expect for home fries, mostly because they're not deep-fried like a lot of places often prepare them. The Eggs Benedict had a liberal amount of hollandaise sauce so you can get a little bit of the sauce with every single bite. For the Country Fried Steak sides, I ordered grits and pancakes. The eggs for both dishes had perfectly runny yolks. The large Country Fried Steak was perfectly fried with a heavy dose of delicious sausage gravy and the grits had a nice, creamy texture. The pancakes were just a touch on the dense side, so they didn't really excite me as much as pancakes normally do but they still tasted okay. All of that food for about $12+tip. Are you kidding me?! Undoubtedly one of the best breakfast deals in Tampa. A large, hearty breakfast for around $6/person. You can't beat that... love this place.

  • Krissie C.

Prices are great, food is home cooked and the coffee is hot! This is by far my favorite breakfast spot. All the servers are amazing and nice! If you want yummy pancakes, great omelets, perfectly cooked over easy eggs then this your place. The actual restaurant itself is not that fancy, so expect a written menu on a white board, being able to see the cook actually cook, and yes to get to the bathroom you have to walk through the drink station! For the cheap price, friendly faces, and great breakfast food I can deal with those obstacles. If your looking for gourmet with white linen service this isn't your place, but I'm a southern girl at heart and any place where you can get blueberry pancakes (The kind where the blueberries are actually cooked INSIDE the pancake and not drenched on top) is a place I will be returning to!

  • Noelle L.

My favorite diver/diner in Tampa, hands down. Everyone I've brought here agrees. Best eggs benedict and the portions here are HUGE! If you like omelets, I'd split one. The servers are always so friendly and accommodating. I cannot say enough great things about Pach's.

  • Julius V.

Pach's was introduced to me a few years ago by a good friend of mine, who lived in South Tampa. Now that I've recently moved to this side of town, I've been here twice in the past couple of weeks. Pach's is definitely a Tampa original. There's always a line out the door, as the food is just that good! Today, I'm getting the European skillet... I'm a sucker for Hollandaise sauce. Check it out for breakfast or lunch. Remember though, they're only open til 3.

  • Morgan M.

This place is like Tampa's version of Cheers. The servers know you by name after a while, the portions are huge, the prices are small. Every time I have someone visit, I bring them by here. The décor is a little dated, but they make up for it with the food. Pretty much whatever you order on the menu will be delicious.

  • Xaxira V.

The food is affordable, tasty, and the portions are outstanding. Well, what I have eaten so far has been tasty. For some reason I am obsessed with their bacon cheeseburger which clearly comes straight from the Burger Gods. I have had their French toast and it was good EXCEPT for the topping. The strawberry topping is not real and is that gooey preserved stuff. So just get plain ol' French toast if that is what you are craving. Philly Cheesesteak is a-ma-zing. Skillets are great. I have also had an omelette there I liked it except for the cheese, but that is because I'm not a fan of American cheese and eggs. I haven't eaten anything else after I became obsessed with the burger. Service is wonderful and fast. **Disclaimer 1: If you suffer from mysophobia do not sit on the counter because you will see the kitchen action and gloves are not used (and are also not required according to my Florida standards investigation--granted I only spent five minutes but source is from floridahealth.gov ). It actually threw me off at first when I saw the cook handling things with his bare hands, but then I realized when I worked at USF catering we never used gloves except for cutting gloves.

Good little place for an "ok" breakfast. You can count on the eggs, homefries and toast. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is quite unique. Menu looks delicious and I may go again to try out some of the sandwiches during lunch.

Ate there again yesterday for breakfast - good again!

The food was good and the servers were very nice but a roach running up the wall behind the cashier while I checked out will probably keep me from ever going back!

  • Marion O.

The price for my breakfast was pretty cheap. Breakfast was great and hearty! $6 for pretty much everything on the menu, but you get a heap of food. Be ready to sit pretty close to people as it was packed and looked popular. The average customer there looked like they have long retired and are just living out the rest of their years in the community. Next time im im Tampa, i'll make another stop here!

For my 600th review.... wow. I'm gonna do Pach's Place - one of those awesome patinated little diners that never gets any press, is not flashy in any way, but serves great food - and cheap! The weekly breakfast special is a full plate of goodness for $3.80. Eggs, bacon, grits (there are other choices, like those execrable hash browns, but we'll ignore those) and pancakes. $3.80 - its 4.25 if you happen to want that plate when not during the 'special time' Yeah, I can live with that. So: If you want to hang with real S Tampa people and have a nice meal in a quiet little institution, pop in here and soak up the awesome. Note: If you sit near the grill, you will smell like the grill. I try to get as far away as possible. Service is efficient and generally friendly. You'll notice a lot of the staff and the customers know each other on a first name basis. I honestly think there are some who practically live in the joint. Love.

Best place for breakfast in Tampa! Try the special omlettes. It's either #4 or #5, a spanish sausage omlette with mozarella cheese and sauce. It's about 8 inches long and 4 inches thick! Perhaps the greatest thing I've ever eaten. it's only $6ish, comes with pancakes and a side (get home fries!) I always have leftovers. Staff is personable and friendly. They obviously know their customers and everyone who walks in the door is greeted with a hello. I've heard about BBQ ribs Tuesday when they make a special batch. A group of older gentlemen some weekly, so you have to arrive early. I've lived in Tampa for 7 years and consider Pach's to be a Tampa treasure.

All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast." John Gunther I had one morning left in Tampa and had plans to meet my Niece for breakfast, she suggested Pach's Place. Upon arriving I was immediately blown away by the crowd and the commotion in this small restaurant. There was a great energy in the room between the the bustle of the kitchen and the banter of the clientele, which always makes me feel like I am in for a great experience. We were approached immediately for a table, and seated within a few minutes. I had not seen my Niece in a long time, so we were too busy catching up to even look at the menu, and even with the crowd, our waitress was friendly, checked back, and said "Just let me know when you are ready." After a few more minutes of conversation we looked at the menu, i went with the Eggs Florentine with a side of pancakes, my Niece with the Blueberry Pancakes. The Eggs Florentine was exceptional. The eggs were done PERFECTLY, spinach was plentiful and also done well. hollandaise sauce was light, delicious, and in the right proportion. I am a big fan of breakfast potatoes, and these were done great. I am however, a bit of a pancake snob, so I wasn't as impressed with those. The coffee was good, and refilled quickly. Overall the food was great, the service excellent. I never felt rushed to order, to leave the table, or pay the check. Even though really busy, they managed to slow it down to make me feel welcome. Three cheers and four stars for making my visit a happy one!

Great home cook food. I went for breakfast and it was amazing, not only that I could not finish all of my food. For the price and the amount they serve its great

I wish I could given less than half star. Pach's has fallen off, the burger I ordered medium, came out well well cooked, no condiments except two ketchup's. Fries were old, not fresh, and cold. This was a too go order, oh and I was not given a bag. Customer service was what gave it 1 star, and not less. She was very nice.

I have been driving by Pach's for years now and finally gave it a shot this morning. To be honest, I was bit hesitant because it looked so tiny from the outside. Well, it was tiny - seating was a bit cramped - definitely NOT wheelchair accessible. I guess the tininess of the place is why people love it (& the food's not to bad either). It was 7:30am on a Saturday and it was packed! The ambiance is very odd. It has an old country diner kinda feel, decorated with wooden round tables and fake plants and then BAM - a huge Marylin Monroe/Andy Warhol pop art painting. It was interesting to watch the variety of people being seated - everyone from the South Tampa "plastics", to the hot male couple, to the 2 girls that look like that just got off work from the strip club. We were so cramped it was hard not to people watch and ease drop - that alone is worth going. My husband and I both had omelets. They were fabulous. What makes them so good is that they come out like pizzas instead of folded - which I prefer anyways. There is A LOT of food to choose from - everyone would leave satisfied (I didn't realize there were so many ways to make an omelet). Prices are great and service is as good as it can be for how busy they were. We WILL be going back.

Don't be daunted. Slide up to the counter and order a steaming plate of eggs benedict. The servers will know everyone's names [except yours]. You will not understand the conversations of those around you [but feel free to ask for more details]. And, almost inevitably, you will be surrounded by people who own accessories older than you are [no really, it doesn't matter your age, trust me]. From the fridge with family photos to the constant stream of hugs [server to diner], this is a family shop that can give you a little local flavor while hitting the Tampa streets.

I've driven by this place literally thousands of times, but experienced it for the first time the other day - well, at least their take-out... I ordered over the phone and didn't have a menu handy, but even though I later found out the sandwiches I ordered weren't on the menu, the very nice woman on the phone didn't stop me at all and made what I asked for. The food was ready very quickly, but more importantly, looked and tasted like it was made with love. Inside the restaurant, it was reminiscent of a UWS diner - cozy and slightly outdated, but buzzed with energy and warmth that was welcoming. I plan on becoming a 'regular' as soon as possible.

Pach's has been THE place to go for breakfast on Sundays ever since I was a kid. I took my husband there recently and was happy to see it packed with wall-to-wall people just as I'd remembered it. They have a great selection of breakfast & lunch items. The "specials" board is what I usually go for. My crab & brocolli omelette was delish, but my husband's Eggs Benedict Florentine was less than flavorful. The lady next me ordered an amazing looking fruit salad with yogurt & granola. The service was friendly and pretty fast considering how busy they were. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn't very tasty. My husband is willing to give it one more shot since I talked it up. Will let you know what we get & if it improved a bit.

It was as bland and unhelpful as this review.

Pach's used to be my go to place in Tampa for breakfast. Lately their quality seems to be suffering. Was there for breakfast on Sunday and sat at the counter. My friend ordered the pecan Belgian waffle. You would assume they would be cooking a fresh waffle with pecans cooked into it, you would assume wrong as we did. We thought it was strange when the waffle came with the pecans on the side. Then as my friend was eating it he stated it was cold in spots. I thought how is that possible if the waffle was just made? Well that's because it wasn't. Per our waitress they make then freeze the waffles and then run them through the toaster prior to serving. Really? We could have stayed home and toasted frozen waffles and dumped crushed pecans on them on ourselves. If they are taking short cuts like this one wonders where else they are cutting corners. The waitress was unapologetic as she ran my friends waffle through the microwave to thoroughly reheat it. We won't be back.

Cheap prices, huge portions, and great tasting breakfast grub. The place could use a thorough cleaning though.
