Maloney's has great daily deals! When we went they had a $3 shocktop deal which my table quickly pounced all over. Paired with the all day $5 car bomb shot (half pint of Guinness w/a shot of jameson + baileys) our party did two rounds before we called it quits for the night. Their burger wasn't bad and served hot and fresh. I ordered the Blarney Bacon burger which was covered in a slice of swiss & american cheeses along with two big strips of bacon. Gotta have it Medium rare (of course) as with each bite, the burger juices were soaked up well by the bun which to me is key, simply so that my plate is not a juicy mess right after. I choose the onion petals as a side which came in a small portion but was very crispy and came with a nice zesty creamy sauce. We also ordered 10 wings which was just ok. split our order by getting half maloneys bbq & half asian ginger which was ok but nothing to remember as it was drenched in sauces. only came with 2 pieces of celery which truthfully was a little disappointing. I wouldn't come back for anything else but the cheap drinks & burgers. i saw a few adds for $6 burgers on Wednesdays along with game nights for which i may check out. also heard they have live music which is always a plus ! will have to check that out and report back The interior was very dark which is a perfect atmosphere to make this a low key type of day, drinking the night away with a few buddies. Plus the cheap drinks (they have moscow mules & old fashioneds!) you really cant go wrong for a local spot in west chase. Service was a little slow (which was surprising being that there were only 3 tables full) as it took a little while to get our orders in but it wouldn't stop me from coming back as i loved the local feel of the bar. Honestly as long as the drinks keep flowing & are light on the pockets, then you can count on me as a return customer!

Visited this place with some friends. When I got there my friends already ordered drinks and some food. So I waited for the server to show up and asked for my order. Before hands my friends already told me about the deal and so I already know what to order. She approached me and ask for my order and told her want I wanted. I was kinda confuse that my order is just a glass of beer and it took a while for her to bring it to me. And so I told my friends my beer is taking a while, did she forgot my order? And they agreed that my order is taking forever. So when she brought my beer, I immediately told her that I wanted 5 pcs. wings to kinda give her time to bring my order in. The food was okay, had better but it's okay. The place as Sunday was kinda slow. That is why i was confuse that my order took a while. I also noticed that the guys rest room has another door that leads to another rest room. Confusing. The happy hour was good got cheap drinks and shots. Can't beat that.

This establishment is a great Irish pub! It has inside and outside seating options, even when raining. There are many food options and you cannot go wrong with any choice. I ordered the "Stankburger" with the Jalepenos, their own original hot sauce, cheese, and fries. The first bite exploded in my mouth with jalapeños and hot sauce! It was most excellent. The portion of fries was just right. The bartender provided excellent customer service and even turned the music down to accommodate us. I would recommend this pub to anyone who wants and needs an oasis.

Maloney's is a classic Irish pub tucked into the small two block-long shopping center opposite Westchase Elementary School along Linebaugh Avenue in Westchase. Like most Irish pubs, Maloney's offers a nice selection of beers and mixed drinks along with a menu of delicious pub grub and plenty of TV's for live sports. Even though Maloney's sits in the same block as World of Beer and Tijuana Flats, the noise level is much quieter with no screaming kids and high-fiving twenty-somethings, and the crowd seems less fueled by testosterone. People are here to enjoy a proper pint or two, with a nice burger, shepherd's pie, bangers & mash, or other Irish-themed special while they watch a game on the projection TV or one of the many high-def flat screens over the bar. I was there early on a Monday night. The announcers were calling off the line-ups for that night's baseball games, and a few of the locals were showing up for the Monday night $5 burger specials. The bartender poured me a perfect draught of Shock Top Belgian Ale while I ordered the Shepherd's pie for my dinner. The beer was nice and cold, the food was terrific, and the bartender was very pleasant to chat with.....all good things. You can either sit inside at a high-top or at the bar, or you can sit outside on a covered table. Plenty of free parking as well.

We love sitting on the side patio at Maloney's especially during a rain storm. We can watch sports, drink ice cold beer and chomp on top-notch pub grub. There isn't a bad dish at this place if you like pub grub. Their wings are quite good, crunchy and saucy and perfect. Their burgers are probably the best in Westchase and they have quite a bit of competition in this category. The staff is just great here, always with a smile and enthusiasm. We have a picky 6-year-old and they will tweak menu items just for her liking. The inside is a little too "bar" for me, especially since we usually have our child with us so we only sit outside when we go. The patio does allow smoking so keep that in mind if you have kids or if smoke bothers you.

The florentine and whiskey burgers were the stars of the menu. French fries were perfect. Arnold Palmer drink was refreshing. Ended with the peanut butter chocolate pie, delicious!

Pretty good. The burger we had was good. The beer selection wasn't much. Not the greatest atmosphere but what would you expect from a sports bar. Definitely a sports bar and not a pub. I would say it isn't great for big groups. I would eat there again but not some place I would go back to over and over.

Good friends have been frequenting here, so I thought I'd stop in and see if they were right. They usually come on Monday nights for cheap wings, but this was a Friday just after Happy Hour and I found the place to be charming and comfortable. While I don't like live music in bars or restaurants, it just fits the overall theme at Irish pubs and I appreciate that it wasn't overwhelmingly loud throughout the bar. The TVs are very nice and in proper locations for those of us who were more into a sporting event and conversation than the music. Also, any legitimate Irish Pub has plenty of choices to quench the thirst and Maloney's has them whether you're looking for draft beer or Irish whiskeys. Looks like they have a ton of various drink specials depending on time and day of week too. The wings come in a dozen different flavors and levels of heat. My blackened were recommended by an employee and I would certainly order them again if I join my friends on one of their future Monday evening visits. Oh, and ordering a pub staple like Shepherd's Pie is sometimes dangerous if it isn't fresh and made properly. While I thought the portion size was a little modest, I liked the balance of ingredients, how it wasn't messy to eat and that it was served with plenty of fresh sliced bread. Seems they have special promos to order this item too, and I think that portion would be a steal on Tuesday Happy Hour at just $6. Now, if only one of my friends would offer to drive me home, I would stay longer and have more than just one Smithwicks with my dinner.

We've done take out from Maloney's as well as eaten in and both have been great experiences. Today we brought our kids and say outside and it was great! The patio can accommodate those that wish to have a view, catch a breeze and even accommodate a double stroller for twins! I had the Fish & Chips special. For $6 it was a huge piece of fish and the fries were cooked perfectly. Crispy and seasoned to my tasting. My husband had the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread and he loved it. (He's a really picky eater too) I had a pint of Guinness which was delicious. Cost: $5.60 We will definitely be back especially since it's kid friendly.

Great place for groups and happy hour. Live music and ice cold beer! Food is good also. I love the chicken Philly, I here the French dip is good also. About 12 tvs and a full bar. If you have kids they have first Friday on the first Friday of the month. Bring the kids and get your drink on....... then if you live in Westchase. .....walk home!

Our first visit and we WILL be returning. Teresa was absolutely wonderful. It's hard to find a bartender/server who is so sweet and great at her job. We ordered the fried shrimp with their "boom boom" sauce and was very satisfied. They make their own blue cheese dressing which was really good. I ordered the french dip and they did not skimp on the meat. It was cooked perfectly and delicious. My husband ordered the Ruben without the 1,000 island dressing and he was just as happy with his order. Maloney's did not go lightly on the meat and everything was worth the price and more. Their drink prices will bring you back. We will be returning. The whole staff we encountered left us feeling like family. We highly recommend visiting this establishment.

My date and I wanted to grab a quick drink before my company's Christmas party. We didn't realize Westchase was celebrating First Friday, when we drove up. It took a while to find parking, but we lucked out. Maloney's was the closest bar to us, so we stopped in for a drink. The place was packed, but we managed to find a table. Despite the bar being crowded, we were waited on right away by Jordan. Jordan was very attentive and personable and seemed so calm and collected in spite of First Friday. I really liked the vibe in this bar and the crowd wasn't too douchie either. There was a gentleman performing live music covers from the 90s and 80s, and he was enjoyable to listen to. They are many TVs in this bar and it would be a great place to catch a game. We only had time for one drink, so unfortunately we didn't get to eat. I definitely would return to this bar for some adult beverages and to try their food. I have already made plans for next month's First Friday to visit!

I'm here tonite, with my lovely bride, based on a Mark H review. Just ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger , and the wife the California burger . It's Wednesday $5 burger night. Every type of burger on the menu just $5. Sipping a draft ultra $2. Waiting for our well done gourmet burgers. Burgers were cooked to perfection. Our well done burgers ( burgers should always be cooked well done) were moist and juicy. The bun was fabulous. Lettuce tomato and oinion with a pickle on the side were all included. Instead of fries we substituted the Ceasar salad for 2 bucks extra. Worth it. This is going to be my favorite Wednesday nite burger joint!

Dinner Dec 30 4 star rating for WINGS! If you like WINGS, you will find none better! Seriously, yeah I said none better! We do take out and they load you up with celery, carrots, blue cheese & ranch at no extra charge - unlike most places! The wings are plump, juicy and larger than normal. We love the Guinness BBQ, Blackened and Parmesan Garlic -they have other flavors and they too are very good. Very constant and very good wings!

Listen up, folks. There are two types of good burgers in this world, good burgers at full price and good burgers at a discounted price. On any given Wednesday, you can order the best burger in Tampa for the price. This means, that it's price, combined with it's flavor, make it the best burger deal in town. Let me explain. On Wednesday's, McDivot's (down the road from Maloney's) has a great burger deal. $3.99 for a massive burger, but that's where the deal stops. Any toppings, fries, chips are all up charged accordingly. So, while the burger is big and good, it's not a better deal than Maloney's Wednesday deal. Why? Because Maloney's not only has a FLAME-GILLED advantage over McDivot's, but you can order any damn burger on the menu at the discounted price. I've had them all at this point, and they're all delicious. There are no up charges, and that is the reason why I believe that it's the best burger in Tampa for the price. Judging the burger alone on it's taste and forgetting the Wednesday deal, I'd rank it in my top 5, easily. 1. James Joyce 2. Oyster Shucker's 3. Bern's 4. Maloney's 5. Jack Willies It's amazing to me that Burger 21 has survived with Maloney's sitting across the way, selling a far superior product at cheaper prices.

So this is why sometimes i'm skeptical of other yelpers reviews. I went because so many people gave it great reviews--'best burger' 'so yummy'.... They have great deals and all that but the food was nothing to write home about. It's a bar, it's dark inside they have TVs. I'd come back for the drinks and to watch a game or hang out with friends but that's about it. Service was nice but slow but i guess it was coz the place was packed..5 in my party and 2 at the bar....

  • Mark D.

This is a good place to hang out and drink, but also serves one of the most underrated Hambugers in the city of Tampa. The rest of the food here is good but not great. And the service can vary from superb to downright awful depending on who you get, but the one thing that never changes is the quality of the Hamburger. I love a place that can serve you a Rare, yet fully-cooked Hamburger and this place does just that. If I order a Rare hamburger here, as I have done MANY times the past few years, I get a fully-cooked yet Reddish/Pink burger that tastes AWESOME. The bun is hearty and tasty and they use good quality meat. And what's really cool about this place is that my one friend orders his burger very well done...and they get his right at the same time they bring mine Rare...the attention to detail of the cook here is very impressive. Like I said, the rest of the food is probably just 3-star level, but a 5-plus star Hamburger brings Maloney's up to 4 stars overall!

Stopped in to Maloney's last week for a beer and hubster got all excited when he saw the $5 Tuesday special for shepherds pie. So we came back. It was surprisingly empty. Just a few other patrons. Lots of TVs for you sports fans, including a large projector. I was glad that they played music. Service was great. I got the grilled salmon with veggies and a Caesar salad and it was tasty. Hubster gave two thumbs up for the shepherds pie and house salad. Can't go wrong with the $3 Maloney's red. Bill came to under $30 before tip. They have live music Thursday-sat and daily specials. Will come back again.

I'd just come in from my weigh in, I wanted food, but I didn't want your typical stuff. I wanted to try something new, but I didn't want just -anything-. I Pass Maloney's all the time, so i figured what the hell, and walked in. The first thing I noticed was that it was dark. VERY Dark, but it's a pub, so that's to be expected. The table spacing is .. odd? They're high tops on wine barrels, but they're close together and that for me is a bit uncomfortable. I couldn't begin to explain that to you, but it was. So I opted to sit at the bar. The service was quick and friendly, the menu had a lot of options, at first, I thought I'd opt for their Shepard's pie, but then I saw the burgers and thought to myself what the heck, and got the bacon burger. A huge half pound burger with Swiss and cheddar cheese and apple wood smoked bacon and a side of fries. I ordered it medium and waited. When it came to the table, it was perfectly cooked, the fries were seasoned with something that tasted like heaven in my mouth and that was all she wrote! I cut my burger in half, at the tomato by it's self, removed the onion from the set up and cast it aside like the vagabond it's meant to be and tucked into that thing like I hadn't eaten in a week. It was GOOD. My meal, with drink cost about $11. I understand they do a burger deal on Wednesdays, but I was there on a Tuesday.

Probably my favorite local place. I have yet to find a menu item that I didn't like. The ladies are so nice and helpful. I LOVE their buffalo chicken sandwich with bleu cheese crumbles on it. Their pizzas are huge. Quesadillas are packed. Salads are so delicious. Fried pickles are yummy. Practically each night they have a deal and I would try all of those deals. Their shepherds pie is so fresh. Their fish and chips are HUGE and flakey. Their steak fries are well seasoned. They have a great variety on tap. Basically, this might become ur favorite place too. :)

I decided to give this new spot a try on a Saturday evening. I work out right next door and was excited about a new Irish pub opening downtown. I had an okay experience, but it wasn't anything to write home about. There was definitely a sports bar atmosphere here, with very loud televisions. It was pretty crowded, too, and the chairs were some what uncomfortable. The service was very good and they had an extensive drink menu. We ordered beers, cheese fries, and spinach dip and all were good. Over all, I didn't love the atmosphere but the food and drinks were pretty good.

Went for the $5 burger night.. I changed the fries to Mac and cheese and was very surprised how blah it was. Kraft Mac and cheese is only way to describe it, whereas I like Mac and cheese I expected more from an Irish place.. Considering they now have Irish competition in westchase, they need to step the sides up to compete. Tried the flatbread and while absolutely huge in size it wasn't that tasty. I am giving a 3 because the service was good, but the food needs some attention.

My wife and I had never been here, even though we'd walked by it many times. After having sushi, we decided to stop and get a beer. We were both impressed at the prices and the menu, they had something for both of us (we will definitely be back to indulge in that next time). We tried the Maloney's Red and it was only $3 and was a good lager in a solid pint glass. I will definitely make this a routine place to come to in the future. We sat outside, but they have many TV's inside showing sports, plenty of beers on tap and a selection of American and Irish fare to eat. Having living in England and being of Irish heritage, I really enjoyed the place and the Wait Staff was informative and was easy to talk to. They have a great specials menu from 4-7 M-F that we will definitely take advantage of in the future.

The service and the ice cold beer was nice, but I ordered the nachos and most of them had no toppings. Just a pile of mostly plain tortilla chips and a little bit of bland topping. Nothing to brag about there, but the I do enjoy the bar and I've never had bad service.

Not one for the loud ass beer-soaked tented festivities of their St Paddy's Day party, I tend to steer clear on busy douche bag nights, but I can't let this place go. It has too many redeeming qualities. Friendly staff is a given, plus a small area for get -togethers with it's own tap available, and all their burgers are included in 5.00 burger night. It's time to forget where this place is located, hit them up on a weeknight and give it a fair shake!

When I went on Friday night, I was not a fan of the experience. The inside seating area was WAYYYY too cold. It felt like I was sitting in a walk-in fridge. Another issue was that the live music was really loud so it was hard to get a word in with your group. There are outside tables but people like to smoke outside. We opted to sit outside because I couldn't stand how cold it was inside. There are plenty of things on the menu that sounded yummy but we were there just to drink and hangout. I had a brownie sundae :P that was not great. The brownie texture was off and the ice cream was not creamy but icy (if that makes any sense). My boyfriend had a few beers which he had no issues finishing off :). The waitress seemed like she was working both inside and outside tables so sometimes it would be hard finding her. She was friendly though and tried her best. Prices are reasonable. They have great deals throughout the week. I'd like to come by some time and give their food a shot. There are plenty of free parking spaces nearby.

This is my husband and my favorite spot in Tampa. It's low key with decent priced drinks, friendly staff, and really good food. The Emerald Isle Iced Tea is good and my husband compares 'Maloney's Red' to Yuengling ( a big thumbs up for him!). Once we tried the food we were hooked. Even when we just plan to go for drinks we end up with potato chip nachos which are bomb.com . We have also tried the burgers and chicken tenders which are equally as amazing. The other thing I love is the roster of live music. My personal favorite time to go is when they have The Sunsetters playing. The laid back atmosphere with the smooth reggae groove of the band makes for a perfect night.

I ended up here after a meet up with an old friend. I was looking for something chill and sports bar-ish. Nailed it! I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. It didn't have the douche-esque feel of the bars nearby. The experience was further complimented by superb service. My waitresses name was Samm and she blew me away with her ability to provide energetic and courteous service at a late time. The kitchen was closing but they were able to complete our order and honor their daily deal. I had the fish and chips and was surprised to see the portion size (big) for only $5. Food was everything we were looking for, delicious guilt filled glutenous portioned goodness. I didn't partake in the drink special but it seemed like a solid deal. Overall, I don't visit the area much but if I'm in westchase again I would have to stop in and give it another go. Ambiance was comfortable, service was impeccable and food was good. Cheers!

Fine for what it is. Decent food. Passable drinks. But I will say the waitresses and bartenders are all very sweet and attentive. Also beware of the college football crowd, they are packed on most game days.

Went for dinner with a friend during the World Cup, the inside was packed but we were promptly seated outside. We ordered chips and salsa with guacamole and fish and chips for entree. Portions were perfect and delightful. The fish was perfect fish - battered and crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Food came quickly and waitress was very friendly.

Nice local neighborhood pub in a plaza in the Westchase community. Fairly small place, but they have nice cozy decor and lots of different beer on tap. Various drink specials are offered, so that gets a thumbs up from me. I've never had food here, but I can say they know how to make a mean irish car bomb. On the weekends there is usually a live band playing. Either I'm getting old already or this music really IS THAT loud! It was a bit annoying shouting at the top of my lungs to hold a conversation, but overall a very fun place and they offer many various beer choices, so I can't complain.

  • Lindsay D.

A Guinness on tap is a totally different experience than in the bottle or can. Maloney's sure knows what to do with it, too. I'm not a huge bar person. I really don't even drink that much. I make an exception for this place. The food is excellent, the beer is great, and I actually found myself enjoying the soccer on all the TVs (I usually abhor sports, so that's saying a lot). Not only is the Guinness yummy for drinking, but they make a number of their dishes with it. The french onion soup has a healthy dose of it, which gives it this really bold, rich flavor. I think they also use it in their barbeque sauce. Overall, Maloney's is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots to grab a bite and a beer. If you're in the area, you should give it a shot. And when it's World Cup time, this is the spot to be!

When I saw "Irish Pub" somewhere in reference to this bar, I was skeptical. What American wouldn't be? "Wait," you say. "Let me guess. Some green signs, hardwood floors...and lots and lots of horrible American beer. Some basketball and baseball on a massive screen above the bar. Maybe a tired old waitress that's never tried Guinness or fish and chips, who will croak out 'if it's foreign, we don't have it." So when my partner and I came to Maloney's, we were shocked to find exactly the opposite. It's dark, cozy, and informal. The Guinness on draft is amazing, the fish and chips are incredible, and the buffalo chicken wraps are the best I've ever had (they're wrapped in this herby tortilla shell...they taste unbelievable). They may not have the cozy booths of the English pubs you've seen in movies like "The Holiday", but once you try the draft beer and the food, you won't mind. If you're lucky enough to come during summer, you may catch the Euro or the World Cup, rounding out a proper Irish pub experience. I never really thought much of bars before I came to Maloney's, but they've changed my mind. And I'll sure miss them when I leave Tampa. :(

Stopped in for a pint with my sister this past Friday night. The atmosphere is really fun and laid back. The servers were busy, busy, busy but always friendly and funny which is always refreshing. We ordered ciders and just enjoyed all the commotion. We didn't order food this time but their menu looks delicious. I'll definitely be bringing my husband by soon to try the fare and give a more cohesive review, but for a few drinks on a Friday night in Westchase, this place is a lot of fun.

Alright, let's be honest. The waitresses here are cute. The place is clean, I like the music and I never wanted to watch sports until I could watch it on a projector. I like the beer and the crowd is pretty mellow as opposed to the college party-goers across the street at World of Beer. The waitresses are on the ball. They never miss a beat and their food is fantastic. The price for everything is very reasonable. I'd suggest going here on Fridays to sit around with friends, drink beer and listen to the music. Overall, great place, great food and cute waitresses.

Best wings I have had in a loooooooong time!! A pub with great food is a rare find, but I found it! I ordered the fish and chips and it did not disappoint. Not too greasy and great portion. Beer is ice cold and food is piping hot. This pub is top notch!
