Was there one week ago (sorry for the delay)! The tomato bisque was wonderful. My fried egg BLT was missing a few items, but they quickly made it right! I thought the Challah bread was quite greasy! The real deal breaker was 2 of the employees came rushing out to parking lot when we were leaving...I had left my phone and they were bringing it to me! I was truly impressed with their honesty! Sorry I did not get their names!

An easy 5 stars...Greeted as soon as I walked in, handed a menu as well as their September specials, made my selection after a little help from the nice cashier, and had my order on the table in around 10-15 minutes. I opted for the grilled chicken club sandwich, which consisted of a perfectly cooked chicken breast and bacon strip, with monterrey jack, honey dijon, lettuce and red onion (hold the tomato) on a challah bun. It was great! And the price was right ($9.95). It also came with homemade chips, which were slightly crispy, slightly soft, tasted a little like Pringles. They were perfect too. And washed it all down with iced pineapple coconut tea ($1.95), which is a September only special - interesting! I didn't detect the pineapple but the coconut flavor was strong and it was quite refreshing (even better when I added the turbinado sugar). Service was on point. As I mentioned, my cashier was friendly, the other cashier (manager?) was also, telling me that my order would be out in a couple minutes, asking how my meal was, wishing me a good day, etc. Seems like a large majority of the customers order online and pick up their meals or have it delivered. I prefer to eat in the restaurant, which has a dozen tables and it's clean. The 80s music station they were playing was nice (and it was entertaining to listen to one cook sing along). Looking forward to my next visit! Their pastas sound very tempting! And I like how they have new items each month.

Doormat really does have some of the best dishes in Tampa. I love ordering out from here, as well as dining in for lunch on occasion. Everything I've ever eaten is truly a treat. They have a standard menu that stays consistent and includes plenty of salads, pizzas, sandwiches and pastas. They also have a new "Specials" menu that comes out each month and has 1 new item from each menu category. Off the traditional menu, I have to recommend the greek and caprese salads! The doormet burger, and athens pizza and salsiccia pizza are also sublime. If you are thinking about trying doormet, do yourself a favor and go tonight

This place is DELICIOUS. Usually a large menu indicates that a place can't do certain things very well, but they have a vast majority of options and (from what I've had) they're all solid choices. The biggest pros? They offer.... - Delivery - Online ordering - Gluten free crust - Speed and made-to-order - Friendly service! Recommendation: Try the Athens pizza!

Although Pricey, this place has solid quality food. Literally a nice delivery serviced dining establishment. Love the Kobe beef. Anything on the menu is delicious, and will definitely be trying this place soon.

Very pleased with the food quality and online ordering system! So easy and thorough !! Delivery time from order placed to received was about an hour, seems very fair! Will use again for sure!

Great place to eat. Went here for dinner and enjoyed every bit of it. It is a sit-down restaurant, but you order at the counter. The cool thing about this place is that it has a monthly specials menu. They also have great gluten-free options (had a friend with dietary restrictions). I opted to get the Lobster roll on the February menu. Came with french fries. It was a decent size. The french roll was super soft and toasted. They gave a good portion of lobster as well. If you eat a lot you might still not be full after this though. But a satisfying meal nevertheless. I got a small Brooklyn pizza as well. Hardly enough for 2. My opinion is that you opt for the large size pizza. A bit more expensive, but a lot more food. Pizza was good as well. Freshmade, so it takes a bit longer to cook, but well worth the wait. Service was minimal, but still present. In the end, no complaints about this place. AND THIS PLACE DELIVERS!!

Out with my husband doing some shopping and needed lunch This is a great deli that also delivers locally We had the truffle Mac cheese- a must have! Roast beef sandwich for me with a side of orzo salad- cold orzo with a balsamic type dressing- along with plump golden raisins Also home made chips that you will not be able to stop eating Food came out quickly and the staff was friendly We will return to try some other lunch choices

We have gotten pizza from Doormet a few times and it has been very tasty. I love that they let you get two different specialty pizzas in one (half and half) for no additional cost. When I emailed after one of our pizzas was less than stellar, I received a prompt response and credit for future purchase. Not only is the food good, but customer service is too.

I'm in love with Doormet's food! I have been ordering the chicken giacamo every time I call but there was a mishap with my order one day and the manager offered $15 off my next meal. I took that opportunity to order a chicken Giacomo AND the august special (crab, pancetta and arugala pasta). I ordered one delivered to my job and the other later that night for dine in. The pasta was TO DIE FOR!!! I may just have to go order it a couple more times this month and stash some in the freezer for special occasions since it won't be available after the month is over lol

This is a review for the pizza, which all places that serve pizza (especially ones who bill their pizza as "gourmet") should be based upon. One word - atrocious. Appearance was incredible, which is what makes this so strange. The pizza was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of basil on it. However, it was certainly lacking on the meat and if you pay over $20 for a pizza, the meat coverage should be at least somewhat substantial. Now onto the taste. There wasn't any - simple as that. It was, by far, the blandest, most flavorless pizza I've ever tasted. It was like eating textured water. No flavor in the cheese, very little in the meat and absolutely none in the crust. I've never seen a pizza that looks so good, taste so boring.

Dined-in and ordered the caprese salad, tomato bisque soup, and Brooklyn pizza. All good! But the pizza was very greasy...the crust was soggy from the grease. The service was very good and staff friendly. I'll give the pizza a second chance.

Wow! I've definitely been missing out. I've heard for awhile about the deliciousness that awaits at doormet and I finally got around to trying it. Their menu consists of gourmet sandwiches, salads, pizzas, pasta dishes and more. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Kind of reminded me of Panera bread, except WAY better and made from scratch. I ordered a half size salad, the "house"- romaine, cucumbers, tomatoes, bacon, and gorgonzola dressing. The veggies were so fresh and tasty! I also ordered the marsala pasta: rigatoni, garlic, spinach, mushrooms, and a creamy garlic/mushroom sauce with parmesan sprinkled on top. So good! The only complaint I have is the price. I wish they had something like a pick 2 pairing option. The pasta was 15$, salad was 5$, and with drink and tip it was 25$. You are paying for better quality, though. They also have vegan/gluten free options. My girlfriend had a gluten free pizza that was amazing! I'll definitely come back.

Clean dining area and friendly people. The Quattro pizza was good and the Greek salad was good too. I'm sure I'll end up eating here again.

Hands down the best BLT! Their pizza is also great and my kids love it (me too). The tomato basil soup is also a must order. Plus they deliver beer and wine, need I say more!!

Best pizza I've ever had and being from NY I suppose that means something. We make a habit of stopping here on vacation every summer and are never disappointed. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Quattro pizza to die for.

Everything here is delicious and so convenient to take out. Great salads, one of very few places I will eat salad! My husband, who doesn't like anything he doesn't cook, even likes it!

The Doormet burger is wicked sick and they have a ridiculously great selection of wines by the glass at beyond reasonable prices. Staff is equally awesome, friendly and knowledgable.

Had lunch delivered from here today and it was delicious! The Rustica sandwich was phenomenal and I will definitely order it again. The Rustica is a chicken, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, pesto, tomato sandwich served on focaccia bread. Service for ordering and delivery were both great.

This is one of my favorite stops for a quick bite or take out. Everything I have had has been spectacular. If you like wings, their Apricot Sriracha with Gorgonzola dressing are to die for. All of their sandwiches are ridiculously delicious, with my favorite being the Tomozza. Be sure to check them out and don't miss the opportunity to get their truffle lobster mac n' cheese when it's featured as a special.

I've eaten here twice now, and both times I have loved it. Helpful tips for a newbie: order at the counter, get a number, claim a table. Grab your silverware and extra napkins at the counter where the soda machine is. If you need to-go containers or a lid for your soda cup, you need to ask a person behind the counter. I've just saved you countless steps, so you totally owe me. Oh, and the light switch for the women's restroom is hidden below the towel dispenser; you're welcome. My favorite sandwich (and yes, I've had it both visits) is the Rustica- grilled chicken, prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes, pesto, balsamic vinegar, all on focaccia. Served with homemade potato chips. To me, this sandwich is the perfect combo of flavors-sweet, salty, fresh, and tasty. My first visit I also tried the salted caramel cake off the May specials menu. It was incredibly moist and delicious. This last visit I split the roasted portabella stack appetizer with my friend, also off the May specials list, and both of us couldn't stop raving about how great it was. Again, it was the combination of flavors they have married together: mushroom, goat cheese, spinach, mozzarella, arugula, pine nuts, and dressing. Served warm, and really outstanding. Can't wait to come back for the June specials, and live on the edge by trying the pizza, pasta, or maybe, just maybe, a different sandwich.

I don't normally go for "gourmet" sandwiches. Give me some good warm bread, some meat and veggies, pile it high and squirt on some mustard and I'm right as rain. But, my girlfriend and I had just finished a long run and needed to eat something quick. Found this place on our way home and decided to check it out. Guess we're past the days of "freedom fries" if we can give our restaurants french sounding names. Thank god - that was stupid anyway. And once again, I digress. Anyway, they have pizza. I mention this because its a gourmet place with a fancy frenchy name, but they have pizza. Order it if you want, but let me know what it's like after you do. I'm curious. They have pastas, too. We didn't go for that. She got some kind of mushroom appetizer that I wouldn't touch in a thousand years but that's because mushrooms are icky - how's that for a professional sounding review? I got a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, which came with a side of home baked chips. I realize how ungourmet that sounds, but that was a damn good sandwich. Came on a challah bun with some mustard or dijon I think, and it was great. Chips were good, too. Crunchy and not greasy. This is a counter service place - order at the counter and they bring it to you; kind of like Jason's deli. Menu isn't too extensive - maybe a half dozen items in each section, but it will have something for everyone.

Nice place with friendly staff. Tried two of the burgers: the Manhattan & the Doormet. Wow both were juicy and fresh tasting. The burgers were quite big. And the takeout order was nicely packed with the meat patty wrapped separately in foil. The challah bun was soft and its buttery flavor went perfectly with the meat. Each burger comes with freshly made homemade chips. They were a delightful surprise. I was ready to just dismiss them as the usual free add ins, however they were very tasty, crisp and light (surprise let not saturated in oil). I'd order from this place again. Maybe next time I'll try their delivery service. Btw: there are not a lot of tables inside, so my guess is they make their majority of business in delivery or take out orders. Don't expect a traditional sit down restaurant.

Quick Summary: Gourmet flavors but at the speed of a 30 min lunch! They have an impressive menu that jump delves well into the gourmet spectrum of flavors. The counterside service lends for a quick meal, and they even have delivery (catering) or take-out for your convenience! I'm not much of a cook, especially when all I have available is a two-range electric stove (gas all the way!!). But we were gonna have a potluck and I wanted to bring something that would have people oohing and ahhing... my first thought, truffled mac and cheese! So I found this place and decided to give it a shot. The catering sized mac and cheese was just a little more than I wanted to spend to impress people, so I grabbed a couple of 12oz servings and the thai butternut squash soup for myself. I brought it home and immediately decided, the two servings of mac and cheese weren't gonna be enough for everyone, but that didn't mean I wouldn't get to try it out! So the mac and cheese, it was pretty good... there's a good flavor of truffle but not overpoweringly so... but I've got one of those palates that need to be assaulted with stormtroopers shooting automatic rifles of truffle essence being backed up by 88mm howitzers lobing additional bursts of truffle... so it was a little light for me. The cheese was nicely complimentary too, not a strong cheese - you don't want those flavors to battle it out - but a lighter subtly with a great creamy finish. What won me over was the Thai butternut squash soup... oooh man that was just perfect! Beautiful curry aromas and flavors wrap around your palate as you swallow each spoonful of deliciousness. It's not spicy, so don't worry sports fans, it a good smooth soup... it was all I could do to slowly savor each spoonful, instead of grabbing the bowl and chugging... Alas I still had the problem of something to bring to the pot luck... I was happy with the other two dishes I went back and ordered the catering size of the Orzo Salad... I know... when you think of ooh and aahs... a 'pasta' salad is never really on the top of that list... well, I'm happy to report it was the first dish to go empty! It was a yummy combination of fresh vegetables with a mix of pine nuts and raisins. The dish was light in itself, but full of flavor that just begged you to come back for more... and many people did. Though I've only essentially had appetizers and side dishes... I'm so impressed... I can't wait to try an entree next time around! From the look of their menu I don't think I'll be displeased... and as a beer connisseur, very impressed with their selection of craft / local brews! Come on by for a *quick* lunch but don't eat too quickly... you'll want to enjoy these flavors!

Ordered delivery via the app. The app worked very well; easy to use and perfectly functional. Got two half salads (veggie and caprese) - both were excellent, but the caprese with the avocado was so creamy and delicious. Also got the truffle mac and cheese which was flavorful, creamy and cheesy. Also got the rustico sandwich with onion jam. Great balance of flavors. Can't wait to order again!

Doormet is food perfection! I come here often for lunch during the work week and they never let me down. The Caprese salad with grilled chicken is my go-to, but I also love the Tomozza sandwich (filled with mozzarella cheese, vine-ripe tomatoes, and proscuitto) and their tomato basil bisque. Fast service, delicious food - the perfect spot for a working lunch!

Wow, this was a stellar gourmet meal at a fraction of the price I would normally expect to pay for food of this quality! My Yelp friends had been singing the praises for Doormet, so I decided to take a drive south along Dale Mabry and check the place out for myself. You'll find Doormet in a small strip mall just off of S. Dale Mabry at Watrous Avenue. That's just south of Henderson Boulevard -- Doormet faces the big Publix shopping center in the next block; and Wright's Deli sits diagonally across the Dale Mabry intersection from Doormet. The sign on the door at Doormet says Delivery, Dine-In, Take-Out, and Catering which covers the many different ways that people can enjoy the delicious tastes of Doormet. What you'll find inside the door is a high-quality, yet affordable, gourmet restaurant which has been voted the Best in the Biz from the Tampa Bay Business Journal, along with awards for best gourmet pizza and Best of the Bay from other publications. The menu is a terrific selection of soups, salads, deli & specialty sandwiches, hand-tossed pizzas, pastas, and Italian chicken classics, along with a juice bar, fountain beverages, beer, wine, organic coffee and so on. Very creative pairings of ingredients with options to suit vegetarians, as well as those on a gluten-free or low-cal diet. You place your order at the cashier's station where they will very gladly explain the options on the menu, and tailor something to fit your dietary and taste restrictions. From there you take a seat, and they will bring out your food as it is prepared. I never made it past the "March Specials" menu when I placed my order today, although I saw a number of fantastic dishes on their main menu. Much more marketing research will be required! Today I ordered the truffled lobster mac & cheese. Oh Dear Lord, do not ask questions.....just order it and then bask in the creamy deliciousness of this dish. YUMMMMMMM!!!!! Along with that I ordered a small crispy pork belly & wild mushroom hand-tossed pizza. Stunning....simply stunning! Doormet is a place that I can see myself visiting many times as the quality of their food is fantastic. Well worth a visit, and especially on a quiet weekend afternoon when you almost have the place to yourself.

I really like the concept of this place: gourmet food without the hassle for a waiter! As others have said, you can also take your gourmet food to go or have it delivered. But for me, being able to have a high quality meal without dealing with table service is awesome. I see it as a fancy alternative to Jason's Deli; it is light years above the subway chain sandwich shops. They have a classy but casual looking cafe equipped with wifi should you want to have your meal there. Their menu ranges from gourmet sandwiches to salads, pastas or pizza, but they also have monthly or seasonal specials. We came in around 3 on a Saturday for lunch. I ordered an appetizer named The Portobello Stack but it really was an entree portion for me. It was 2 large cap portobello mushrooms with melted provolone cheese, sundried tomatoes, topped with arugula and pine nuts, drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Totally delicious. My boyfriend ordered a grill chicken sandwich with bacon accompanied with their house made potato chips. I tried the chips and they were good: crispy and not greasy. They live up to their gourmet concept. I will be back.

Well, I was with my folks and as we drove around Tampa we decided that we were in the mood for some pizza. Fire up ye olde Yelp App and up pops Doormet! This quaint little restaurant seems to do a ton of take-out and delivery business, but there are tables for dine-in as well. We happily ordered and sat inside. The menu is a bit all over the place with options. We weren't exactly sure what to order, but after talking to one of the guys on the line, we ended up with the following -- Maryland Crab Cakes 4-Cheese Pizza Mushroom Ravioli and Filet Salad with tons of veggies The dishes were all pretty good. We were pretty stoked on eating, so nothing was really spared. The clear winner was the salad, however. The other dishes had just a bit of room for improvement -- Pizza could have been a bit more cooked, especially the bottom, the filet was a bit overdone, and the crab cakes were a bit bland, but still nice. The salad had amazing flavors and was our definitely favorite item that hit the table. I think the biggest disappointment of this spot is the pricepoint. The dishes we were recommended ended up being the most expensive on the menu and didn't seem to have the best flavors or have a lot of street-level appeal. I think a lot of the identity in a spot like this is probably found in more simplistic dishes like salads and sandwiches, which is totally fine. I'd give these guys another go for sure. Especially since they do delivery.

We have eaten at Doormet at least 10 times and have had them cater our office for lunch. Unfortunately I live on the other side of town, so have not had the opportunity to take advantage of their gourmet carry out and delivery. I have always found the food and service to be impeccable. The owners have stopped by our table on several occasions to make sure we were satisfied with everything. Some of our personal favorites are the Caesar and Caprese salads, Cali and Rustico sandwiches, Burgers, meatball Parm, and Brooklyn pizza. Good selection of beer and wine too. Not fancy inside but a great place to eat.

Doormet premium wings are in no way premium. The only thing that kept them in my stomach was the perfectly balanced Gorgonzola dressing. The wings are as bland as stove top stuffing. I do recommend the hornsbys hard cider to rescue any dish that doesn't meet your taste standards. The overdramatic music makes as if you're in the final heroic moments of a Disney movie. In other words it tasks away from the atmosphere

This off the drag little spot is more a catering center than a restaurant but there is some casual seating. We stopped in for lunch and shared a wonderful fresh salad, homemade meatball and cheese sub and pizza. It is counter service and everyone was super nice, they also have bottled/canned beer. The pizza left us a bit short, It was a meat lovers of some type with bacon. The crust was nice but the sauce was light and did not hold up to the meats, the cheese a mere topping holder. Would stop back for sandwiches to go.

Doormet?? Rhymes with gourmet.. Gourmet inspired dishes readily delivered to your doorstep. This café inspired menu offers gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas and hand tossed pizzas. In the market of healthy options and allergies, they offer a wide selection of vegetarian items and the option for gluten free crust. There is also a wide selection of teas, coffees, beers and wines. To amp up the gourmet factor!!! They offer new specials each month including a new hand squeezed drink, appetizer, soup, salad, pizza, entrée and dessert. I like this concept for the fact that at least once a month it keeps your curiosity to see what they have to offer that is new and gourmet inspired. I bookmarked this place as I noticed a fellow yelper check in several times over the past 2 to 3 months. I couldn't help noting the catchy name to see what this establishment had to offer. Ginger mint limeade sounds like a pretty unique drink why not give it a try. I didn't note too much of the mint flavor but the limeade was quite refreshing now the ginger part was a bit of a surprise. We're not talking ginger syrup or candied ginger, this is minced ginger that you sip small pieces of which gives a chewy hint of spiciness, but overall works great in this drink concoction. Premium wings six wings hand-breaded to order, tossed in our house made apricot sriracha wing sauce, this is not your run of the mill buffalo wing. These wings has subtle sweet from the apricot and a mild heat from the siracha which balances out really well. What goes best with buffalo wings to dip/dunk to cool off the heat??? blue cheese? ranch? Doormet steps it up a notch and offers a creamy gorgonzola dressing, which provides a similar pungency to blue cheese but more refine of a cheese. The Brooklyn hand tossed pizza house made marinara, house cheese blend, pepperoni, grilled italian sausage, crispy smoked bacon, roasted mushrooms, fresh oregano. Cheese to sauce to dough ratio is perfect. I have to say this pizza crust is a close reminder of a new York style pizza meaning it has this unique elastic like pull to each bit allowing for chewy goodness enjoyment. In my Jay-Z lyrical opinion "Brooklyn they went hard". Forget making reservations, waiting on a list or dirtying the kitchen for a gourmet inspired meal. Doormet has something for everyone's curiosity when craving Italian/American inspired dishes.

Just had one of worst meals EVER! The cream sauce was so thick a spoon could stood up in it. Order a glass of wine and the first 3 on their menu they did not have. Finally offered one that had to be cooled off first before serving. Got it almost at the end of the meal. Weak apology and no offer to comp for the wine. I use to come here often but have seen it going down hill. Won't be back. Doormet is definitely not worth a visit.

I am officially in love with Doormet! This is a perfect example of why I'm so glad that I frequently use Yelp. I have driven by here literally hundreds of times and had absolutely no idea that this business even existed (and it has been here for years!). I saw a review of Doormet on Yelp and knew that I had to try it. Doormet offers delicious gourmet food for dine-in, take-out, or delivery. It was actually hard for me to find the first time. It's on the side of a strip mall not visible from Dale Mabry. If you're dining in you place your order at the counter and they will bring it out to you shortly. There are a good number of tables inside and a few outside. The first time I went I tried the pizza and thought that it was very good. The second trip is when I really started to appreciate how special Doormet is. I had the chicken piccata and I literally cannot remember the last time that I had something so delicious. It was off the charts fantastic. And I can get this type of food delivered to me? Pinch me, I must be dreaming. I have yet to try anything that I didn't like. The rustico sandwich was also wonderful. The fresh focaccia bread was top notch and tasted so good with the pesto and balsamic that was added to it. My half a sandwich had a generous amount of meat on it. That and a hearty soup made me completely full. They have several items that they temporarily add to the menu as monthly specials. This can be great for trying new things but could be heartbreaking if you really like one of them because it won't last long. Enjoy it while you can! The only (minor) complaint that I have is that the pasta dishes are a little pricey for a lunch ($15). However, the chicken piccata I had was so good I will definitely be splurging on it once in a while. I consider Doormet a hidden gem that I'm glad that I found.

Have has many good meals to go here. Visited again last night and noted the menu has fewer options and changes have been made. The caprese salad was outstanding as usual. However, the pizza was shiny and oily. I asked a restauranteur (who will remain nameless) about it. He said pizza is oily when inferior or inappropriate cheese is used and the fat in the cheese breaks down and rises to the top (I have had this same experience at other Pizza places). They do have good pasta options.

A friend of mine came in to work with a menu from this place and said that they deliver to our job. It is very challenging to find good delivery food around here, not to mention Gluten Free delivery. Living in NY for my entire life, I am used to everything being at my fingertips and readily available, but have found it challenging since moving here in August. Doormet delivery was fast and the food was fresh and hot. Some places that offer delivery take more than an hour to actually deliver your food and then it is usually cold or soggy, but Doormet did not disappoint. Now, onto the actual food....I am blown away with how good their gluten free pizza is. The crust was thin and very tasty. A lot of other crusts I have tried are either very bland and dry and some even have a very sweet taste to them, probably because they use tapioca starch in them. Whatever Doormet puts in theirs, is PERFECT! I had the Salsiccia pizza and I can't wait to try other varieties. I am officially obsessed!

Nice concept of ordering food, I tried the Mac and cheese truffle, was delicious, I also ordered the pizza with tomato and spinach, was good, but I wouldn't go there for the pizza, I would go back to try some of the extensive menu they have

I can't believe it took me so long to discover Doormet. I admit I didn't get the name until an explanation, but that turned out to be a release of some sort. Now, I'm addicted by every definition of the word. I've ordered delivery for the late-night creative crew at my office 3-4 times in the past month alone, simply because Doormet has one of those menus where *everyone* can find a favorite. From order to office-step, it's about 45-70 minutes. On my own, I've stopped in for lunch takeout and ordered delivery for home. Always good. A few standouts: - Doormet delivers wine. Sa-weet, esp. if your racks are empty. - Caprese salad rocks. Granted, I alter the original version (due to my aversion to avocado), but it still is a uniquely delish MEAL ... versus just the starter you'll find at most restaurants. - The Truffle Mac 'n' Cheese is sinfully delish. So are the Crispy Potatoes. Side note: The sides, in general, are relatively inexpensive ($5 and $3), so there's no harm in trying all of them at some point or another (which I have). :) One wish-list item: - More shrimp and seafood in the entree section are extremely welcome. Sometimes I'm craving something more robust than a salad and a side, and chicken doesn't cut it. A shrimp pasta or a grilled fish entree would be divine. I'm sure there's probably a challenge with the freshness thing, but I think I'd rather hear of a sell-out due to limited quantities than avoid a restaurant altogether due to a lacking menu.

As long as you're a decent cook, this restaurant serves what you could essentially make at home. I would consider the food, while seemingly creative on paper, just ok in taste. If I were going over to someone's house, and this was the food they were serving, I would be appreciative and enjoy it. But to enter a restaurant setting and have to pay for it... not so much. I suppose for those that don't have time and/or can't really cook, this is a good fast-ish option to grab dinner. Otherwise, you're better off going to Panera, or making some grub at home.

This little restaurant serves up great gourmet pizzas and sandwiches and has a vegetarian dream salad list. For two bucks they will make any pizza gluten free. If you are on a no salt diet, Doormet will work with you. They even make no salt hand made potato chips that are heavenly just out of the oven. This is a hard place for people to notice. Despite the South Dale Mabry address it is on the Waltrus (South) side of the strip mall, facing Publix supermarket. There is parking around the entire complex.

I had such high hopes for Doormet because of the reviews I read. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing (meatball parm), but I wasn't that impressed. I've had other meatball subs with more meatballs for cheaper. What I did appreciate was the lobster truffle mac & cheese. I was expecting all their dishes to be of that caliber. I get that it's supposed to be a fast service gourmet food restaurant, but I was also expecting table service and not counter service. The place is small enough that table service doesn't seem out of the question. The service we did receive was good, though. They were friendly and helpful with our menu questions. I really just can't understand what the hype is, but at least I tried it.

The kitchen is spotless as we can all see from the window outside. The main menu is very diverse , and the monthly specials are amazing . I have only been here 4 times but each time I have tried something different ,so far each item has been prepared to perfection . Staff is great and the brothers that own Doormet make it a great place to work I would guess by the staffs great attitude .

While the food was good, the service was horrible. I was charged 15.00 for delivery fee (without notice) on a 30 dollar order due to being outside of the delivery area. Yet, I have order many times in the past and have never been charged anything other than the standard delivery fee.

I LOVE Doormet! I traveled to Tampa for work and stumbled across Doormet while searching for good delivery restaurants around my hotel. The food was so good that I ordered from Doormet for dinner every single night during the week I was in Tampa. The pizzas are simply spectacular. The Brooklyn is my favorite, but the Quattro and Bianca are also extremely good. The Mac-n-Cheese is an absolute must-have, especially if they have the Jalapeno-Bacon style available. The cheese is fresh and noodles are al dente. The wings are extremely delicious as well, as they are soaked in a sweet Sriracha sauce and breaded, but aren't overwhelmingly spicy. I recommend the Gorgonzola dressing to go along with it. I can't speak to the in-person service, but the delivery was friendly and prompt, always arriving well-before the scheduled delivery time. The driver was nice enough to always bring the food directly to my hotel room. If you are traveling in or around Tampa, or even if you are a permanent resident, you absolutely must try Doormet.

So I am pretty picky when it comes to pizza and have to say this I the best pizza I have ever had in my life! My wife and I consumed a large pie ugh... Damn you! So good!

Great little spot! They have fantastic selection of salads, sandwiches and pizzas freshly made. I had a portobello stack that was delicious! I will be back with the family. They also serve beer and wine.

The best from scratch pizza I've ever eaten! Nice atmosphere, moderate seating, friendly staff and a great menu to choose from. If you leave here hungry then you don't know great food.

Quality food available for delivery ($3). The caprese salad was phenomenal and def worth ordering. All the ingredients are fresh and every month they change out their specials menu. The night we went, we shared a caprese salad and the pasta special. It was pappardelle with chicken, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach and pine nuts in a light lemon sauce. A perfect meal.

Doormet. I always have high hopes and usually walk away feeling.....meh. We ordered delivery for the first time tonight. What was good....orzo pasta salad and spinach salad done vegan. The spinach was fresh and I'm a sucker for anything with golden raisins. Plus, the honey Dijon dressing is perfectly tangy and sweet. The price is reasonable and our delivery person was punctual and friendly. What was not good....the meatball sub. The meatballs were inedible due to salt overload and If you're expecting ooey gooey melted cheese you won't find it here. Same goes for the spaghetti and meatballs which was salty with a healthy dose of fennel. I've previously had overly salted soups and average pizza from here. I've also had the classic salad adding grilled chicken which is a great blend of grapes, strawberry, mixed greens, candied walnuts and honey Dijon. As you can see it's been hit or miss for me. The concept to deliver gourmet food is awesome, but again it always just leaves me saying....meh.

Doormét offers fresh, high-quality ingredients, brick oven pizzas, and super friendly staff at their South Tampa restaurant. My only gripe: I hate mushrooms and the owner obviously adores them! My go-to pizza on the menu is the Brooklyn (without the mushrooms!). There are lots of gourmet pizza toppings to choose from such as goat cheese, artichoke hearts, Greek olives, garlic cloves, and those mushroom things (if you like fungus!). While I usually visit Doormét for their incredible brick oven pizzas their menu offers other options if you're not in the mood for pizza. Choose from homemade soups, gourmet salads, cold deli sandwiches or hot bistro sandwiches, amazing pastas, and Italian classic dishes. If you save room for dessert their fresh baked cookies are phenomenal! I could eat lunch here everyday!

I was so excited to find a 4 star rated Yelp pizza place that both delivers AND has gluten free pizza. Girl on the phone was nice and efficient, and my order came in exactly 45 minutes. My bbq pizza was.......ok. Like a few other reviews said, the gluten free crust was somewhat undercooked and chewy, like cafeteria pizza. The cheese and bacon was good, but the peppers were odd (like cheap Walmart peppers) and I couldn't get over the dough! I had to stick it in the oven to cook it more. For $15 i was expecting something really good. It definitely has potential but needs improvement. In all honesty, I prefer the gluten free Oodies pizza I can buy at Publix for $5.

A friend took me to eat here while visiting Tampa and what a great experience. The owner was there to greet on us. We sat outside he brought our food to our table and was very pleasant. The staff is bubbly and customer service oriented. The food is delicious and outstanding. I definitely will be back to eat the Francesca whenever I am in town again. 5 Stars!

I took my kids here looking for a sit down meal on a Monday night, when many places are closed. We ordered the Short Ribs special, shrimp pesto flatbread, a Toscana pasta, and 2 salads and the Truffle Mac n Cheese. Everything was really great. The beef fell off the fork, cooked to perfection, the pasta was pretty darn authentic (my mom's and real Neapolitan) with a South Tampa twist, and the guilty pleasure of the evil-food was totally worth it too! I'm really glad I came for dinner, I have had several lunch sandwiches here and they were always superb - a certain shrimp po'boy immediately springs to mind - I'll never forget it!, so this was just a confirmation of how the owners' passion for delivering great food shines through. Great experience, Keep it up!

5 stars. I have already submitted a review but I believe I need to thank Doormet for excellent service. I ordered for delivery a Bistro Blue burger. Excellent burger but it could use one more strip of bacon. I love how they wrapped the burger separately. Great concept!! The bread was not soggy when i received the burger. Other should follow this practice! So they forgot my chips. So why the 5 stars you ask... Well we called and they apologized and said they were sending it right out. They showed up within 10 minutes. Thanks. A lot of my friends eat there a lot and I can see why. Great food and service. Worth the visit.

Disappointing portion sizes sour an otherwise tasty meal. My wife and had take out from Doormet tonight and had high expectations given the reviews; however, upon arriving home with our order we were pretty disappointed at what we saw after unpacking the bag. My wife ordered a Full Classic Salad (organic baby greens, seasonal apple, strawberries, grapes, candied walnuts, blue cheese, honey balsamic vinaigrette) for $9.45 - the salad container was only about 1/3 of the filled up and while she commented that it tasted good, the entire salad was the size of a side salad at any other restaurant, it really was shocking small. For myself I ordered the Maine Lobster Roll Sandwich (lobster claw meat salad, fresh chives, fresh lemon, lettuce and tomato, served with our homemade yukon potato chip) for $14.95, very nice taste but as with my wife, i was quite disappointed by the size of the sandwich. The sandwich length was pretty short and was barely filled with any of the lobster meat salad. On a good note, the yukon potato chips were excellent. Overall, I felt it was not worth the price given the amount of food we received. While we weren't expecting Cheesecake Factory size portions by any means, we both finished dinner and were still hungry by a decent margin. Don't think we'll be trying Doormet again anytime soon.

Food second to none. All quality and perfection. In the rare instance it's not, they do whatever it takes to make you happy.. Clean, modern, fresh, healthy... Very loyal to locals and repeat customers! Everything is slightly more expensive, but you are getting quality!

I literally have not had a bad thing on the menu. I've introduced 4 friends to them & they're equally impressed. Super nice people & decent sized interior dining space for eating in. I love Doormet!!

A coworker recommended this place so I decided to place a to-go order. The caprese salad is unlike one I've had before and it is orgasmic (and that's just the salad!). Wish I had bought the full size. Also tried the truffle mac and cheese (another party in my mouth) and the Athens (greek) pizza. I have a friend that makes an amazing greek pizza but this one comes in at a close second. And they deliver. Yes, that includes booze. Too bad I'm working!

The food here is fresh and wonderful and the service is on point! This place is near my (very finicky) friend's shop, he frequents it for lunch quite often and suggested I try it. I've eaten in once and gotten take-out once; both times the food was fab! The take-out was hot and fresh, all utensils were in the bag and my order was ready right when they said it would be. Oh, and they spelled my name right...it may sound like a little thing but everytime I call something in it's usually under "Janet". I know, Janet from Shannon? I don't get it either! Try this place, you'll love it!

After a long day of doing very little I thought to indulge my laziness by ordering in... The girl decided that this should be the place as she was quite fond of the food. We got the chili, the brooklyn pizza, and a salad to share. Delivery was pretty quick and courteous and I was quite intrigued to try the grub as the menu looked very interesting. My chili was very good, not at all the traditional mishmash of flavors you get when ordering chili and that gave me much hope for the pizza. Alas the pizza was subpar. The crust was soft and chewy as if it had been microwaved. The sauce and mozzarella were likewise devoid of taste. The girl really likes the place so I'm sure to have another go, but I won't order another pizza. Maybe I can just double up on the chili?

    I. LOVE. this place. I could eat here for every meal and feel fantastic about it. The staff are extremely friendly, the food is healthy (for the most part, maybe not so much the truffle mac n cheese ;) ), it's fresh-made and SUPERB. They do a BLT with honey and goat cheese that is amazing. They also have some great craft beers, good wines, and a different type of iced tea and coffee every week-ish. It's a little hard to find, but worth the hunt. Or you could just get it delivered. Mmmm....

Doormet offers fresh, hearty, delicious food. Placing an order is easy-their staff is very helpful and polite. And if you want to indulge, get the chocolate chip cookie. Gooey goodness!

Fresh, wholesome gourmet food, reasonably priced, and fast delivery! What more could you ask for? Have also eaten in the restaurant for both lunch and dinner, and was also a pleasant experience. Highly suggest!

I had the distinct pleasure of visiting this restaurant this past weekend, while in Tampa on a little mini-vacation from Orlando. Saturday evening, on a tip from Yelp.com , we dined in and had the Linguine alla Rustica, Rigatoni Tuscano, and the Truffle Mac 'n' Cheese. The food was out-of-this-world good - definitely on another level than what we expected. The staff was also notable - friendly, efficient, and obviously believers in the product. We loved it so much, in fact, that we had to get some to go before we left the area yesterday - Savory pizza and a pint of Truffle Mac. If you live in the area, and you haven't tried it yet, YOU MUST. If you're in the area temporarily, add this to your "to do" list.

I tried to come here a few months ago but it was closed for renovation. I remember looking at the menu for it a few months ago and I'm very sad to see that the truffle mac and cheese is no longer on the menu!! Please bring it backkkk! My boyfriend and I got take-out from here last night for Valentine's Day. We thought about getting deliver (only $3 for delivery) but we figured the delivery might be super busy on Valentine's Day and we didn't want to have to wait longer so we just opted for take-out. When we got there, there was only one table dining in but the kitchen seemed extremely busy with take out orders. We ordered off the Valentine's Day menu. I got the Maine Lobster Roll and my boyfriend got the Spicy Meatball and Ricotta pizza. I was so excited to see a lobster roll on the menu, since the only time I've ever even seen a lobster roll on a menu in Tampa (that I can remember) was at Monstah Lobstah! We also got the Roasted Tomato Bisque and Southwest Sweet Potato Soup as appetizers (both from the regular menu), and, obviously, the Chocolate Lava Cake (from the Valentine's Day menu). The Southwest Sweet Potato Soup was amazing. It was slightly spicy but also a little bit sweet with bits of corn in it. The tomato bisque was very creamy and tomato-y. A little too tomato-y and tangy for my liking. The best part of the soup? The homemade croutons that it came with!! They might be the best croutons I've ever had. I don't even usually like croutons in my soup but these croutons were perfect and were a perfect addition to my soup. I loved my lobster roll. There was so much lobster on it! Delish. And considering how much lobster there was, pretty reasonably priced for only $15. The pizza my boyfriend got was very good, as well - tasted very fresh and I especially loved the cheese on the pizza. Chocolate lava cake was mediocre. Chocolate lava cakes are one of my favorite desserts but this one was nothing really to write home about. Was not quite as chocolatey as I like, and a little too spongey for me. I still ate the whole thing... just wasn't the best chocolate lava cake I've ever had. Overall, I really like the concept of this place. Food was good and tasted fresh, and pretty decent portion sizes!
