I have lived in the Carrollwood area for about 10 years and have passed Dominick's several times, but never had a chance to visit it. Yesterday I was craving a reuben on my way home so I stopped in to see what they were all about. As you walk in I was greeted by a young lady behind the prep counter and to the left I noticed a wide seating area. I placed my order for the reuben and stood back to let the other guests order. While I was waiting I took a second to read the history of Dominick's in the form of newspaper clippings they had proudly displayed across the wall. Under new ownership they had added several cuisines from around the world including Peru and had added a breakfast menu, which I mean to try out sometime on my way into work. After I got my food I departed. The reuben was good, it had a generous portion of corned beef, but was a little lighter on the kraut then I usually see and would have liked. But all in all it was a good sandwich and greatly satisfied my reuben cravings.

Although my Greek salad was a bit on the small side (call it a lunch portion), I'm glad that vegetarians have several options here, including an avocado-tomato sandwich and a few others I'm forgetting. There's a wi-fi connection here, but not the sort you'd guess (it's not called Dominicks and the phone number isn't the password). Ask your server for the login credentials. Service was casual and gracious, and if you do eat meat, you may be interested to know that there's a Peruvian section of the menu with all kinds of stewed and roasted meat-critters. Don't be put off by the run-down strip mall it's in; go on back to the corner. You'll find it right next to "Dancemakers: School of the Dance".

Came here cause of the commercial on Tv, smh ... Where do I start well the service writer or waiter was very pushy in asking "is that it , is that it " I've been here 39 minutes in which 32 minutes ago my order was taken , no one else in here so why so slow ????? Yeah I won't be coming back again and I drove from Clearwater. No mater how good can be there is no reason for shitty service .

A little slow but well worth the wait for a breakfast sandwich from here.

Great food! We stopped in for lunch and split the Cuban and Ropa Vieja. Both were excellent!

Ok so I went to this "undercover", (UC) Peruvian place called Dominick's. I say UC because it's a sandwich, deli and I guess Italian as well. I came here due to a Peruvian lady who told me very conspiratorial like about this place. I had to check it out. They do a lot of take out sandwich biz but I went right for the Peruvian daily specials!! It was a winner all the way. The Thursday special is the chicken soup side which was very tasty clear broth with plenty of chicken, noodles and veggies. What really got me going was the main lunch course... Aji de gallina- this folks is not your moms chicken ala King....imagine a yellow, creamy pepper sauce with shredded chicken and boiled potatoes over....(my favorite ) white rice. So tasty with a creamy hint of Peruvian yellow peppers. Bueno, bonito y barato. Lunch was a reasonable $7.99. My suggestion, change the name call it Domingo's, change the classic rock soundtrack for Andean music. Either way I'll keep coming back to my "UC" Peruvian joint, shhhh don't tell anyone....

Was really looking forward to some delicious Peruvian dishes, but they didn't have what I wanted. I sucked it up and ordered some lomo saltado and rotisserie chicken. Unfortunately the chicken didn't taste how the server presented it, it was pretty plain and bland skin was chewy and not like other rotisserie chicken. The moro rice that accompanied the chicken was over cooked and super salty. The lomo saltado was a huge portion of stir fried onions punctuated by pieces of tough meat atop a bed of undercooked fries. The order took about 30 or 40 minutes to prepare which is insane considering the chicken just needed to be quartered and stir frying meat only takes a few brief minutes. As I waited the second server just stared at me from over the counter, it was kind of freaking me out. More people came in and he couldn't even take their order even though he wasn't doing anything but standing there. I was really looking forward to the food since I've lived in the area years and it has been a mainstay for years and even moved to a larger location. I was unimpressed with the service and food.

Decent Spanish style food. Service is a little slow. They were out of cookies though they were still on display when I went. I was placing a large to-go order and the cashier almost seemed inconvenienced by my large order. Then took almost 30 minutes to receive it. The 1/2 chicken was a bit dry. Soup was good. The fruit smoothie was ok - way too much sugar added for me. I think I'll give them another try as I feel like the food has potential but if I have the same experience again, I wouldn't go back.

Not impressed with this place. I came here a few years ago the food was great, now not so much. I ask for white rice, got yellow not to mention it was under cooked. The price was crazy for one preson. Definitely not what it used to be. I don't think I will recommend it or return. The young man working the front was a pleasant person. Just not worth paying over $20 for on person take out.

Lunch Jan 3 Stopped in for a quick sandwich -- as it seems hard to find a lot of good sandwich shops. Very good choice -- would probably give this 3.5 stars, but cant. Great menu variety featuring Italian, Cuban & Peruvian, etc sandwiches. I was really surprised at how many different types of sandwiches they had. I had the Media Noche and it was very tasty! I especially like the side of homemade chips and salsa! My lunch mate had a turkey reuben and thought it was very unique and good..only wished she would have gotten chips and salsa instead of the fries (didn't know if we had a choice or not as the sides just came with our sandwiches) - will ask next time. Prices were very reasonable as well. Will definitely be back!
