Post Modern America personified in surreal South Florida. Greek diner with Venezuelan owner and loyal Jewish clientele. Diner standards served up in almost transgressively large phortions.

Ah the ol' Tamarac Diner. You'll find all your grandparents here, especially my grandma and great aunt. I get taken here every time I've visited. It's kinda like cheers for the Kings Point residents. Everyone knows my grandma, including the staff. The staff is decent. They bring everything out reasonably quick, but not really with a smile. Maybe it's because they know all the customers anyway? Someone on here said they wanted to take their family to a Jewish deli and went here. This is NOT a Jewish deli. It's a simple diner. I usually get eggs of some sort and grits or oatmeal. I could definitely make everything I eat here at home and it would taste just as good, if not better. I wouldn't go for anything extravagant like corned beef hash. I imagine it comes from a can anyway. But the food isn't why the local community comes here. They come here because they get to see the people and talk shop.

Worst breakfast ever... The eggs were raw. The potatoes were hard and over seasoned and the service was horrible. I mean the lady couldn't even say hi... just what do you wanna order lol

Shame on their inspection. Lots of violations putting customers at risk. And many elderly go there thinking it's a great place. So clean up Tamarac diner.

Awful and filthy. Twice I asked the waiter for a clean spoon and both times he gave me another dirty one. 2 for $20 dinners 7 days a week which includes soup, salad, sweet or reg potato, main dish, vegetable, dessert and drink. But the filth is hard to deal with. Perhaps because clientele is mostly of an advanced age the restaurant figures they don't have great eyesight and can't see the grime on the floor behind the register. Disgusting. Not recommended. At all. Ever. Even if you're starving to death.

Visiting parents and my grandad in FL, I was skeptical because of the previous Yelp reviews with so few stars. But I was happy with the generous portions and the full array of food that comes in a dinner order reminded me of eating a home-cooked meal. I'm not a huge guy, but I can pack it away. To my dismay, I wound up having to bring home leftovers. Very reasonable prices for what you get.

It's an ok place came here while my grandfather is in visiting, he used to come here a lot with my late grandmother. As soon answer walk in the door 3 old people walked into each other and fell over. Staff took their sweet time coming out to help so I spent my first 10 minutes here people up off the floor. Once we got to the table the waitress ask us if we wanted coffee which is fine but then when she brings the coffee she asked if we knew what we wanted to order but she never gave us menus. Not to mention the waitress we had kept complaining about her tables and the people, I mean if you are in this type of profession and you can not stand your clientele then you need a new profession. Good thing I only come here once a year if that.

Figuring all Jewish delis are basically the same (and god knows there's enough of them in South FL!), I brought my visiting relatives here for a breakfast and a lunch this past week to introduce them to the deli culture here. Our first visit was significantly better than the second, though I will say neither one was very memorable or excellent. This is your average deli/diner, with lots of senior citizens and uber cheap prices, at least for breakfast. They serve basically everything you would imagine a diner would serve, along with more traditional Jewish specialties: lox, matzoh ball soup, lots of bagel variety, etc. We tried the 2 egg special (2 eggs any style, home fries or oatmeal or grits, coffee, and bagel). Portion size was fine, and quality was alright enough. On our second visit, I tried the tuna melt and fries. The melt was pretty burnt, didn't have much flavor, and portion size was kind of small for the price. Both visits, the restaurant was crowded and service felt very rushed. We went at an off time for breakfast and lunch (around 11) and there wasn't a seat in the place. On our second visit, our waitress seemed to desperately want us to leave, wanting an order as soon as we sat down and tossing a check at us along with the entrees. The place wasn't the cleanest, either - you know that sticky table kind of diner feel? That describes this place to a T. It's like they could barely wipe the tables down before seating someone in them. This place is fine in a pinch, but it wouldn't make my favorite delis list. If you do feel like making a habit of dining here, at least you'll have plenty of company with dozens of other senior citizens!

Not all old people in there! It's clean, 2/20 meals. That are good and plentiful. Waitstaff was great and did not rush us. You can't judge by one review.added bonus a theatre next door that has 1.50 movies on tuesdays all day. Some current but, pretty up to date. Think it's 3.50 rest of the time.
