I go here most of the times, the best thing is their smiling faces when they greet you. I love the fact that the food is good in quality and also in quantity; therefore, at times i feel like i have so much left overs which is excellent.I would recommend people to go there expecially during a work week as you would have left overs either for the next day or next meal. Cheap delicious rotisserie chicken with rice and beans. Nothing fancy but sometimes simple is just better. Try their onion relish. Did I mention cheap? Less than $5 for a meal that fills you up. Even the colonel can't beat that!

La Brasa just opened on Commercial Blvd just east of 31st Ave and West of Powerline Rd. I had been to the one on University Blvd in Plantatoin awhile back and this one seems about the same. It is counter service, so you order and pay, take a number and then they call you when you're food is ready. As for the food, it is a Peruvian restaurant similar to La Granja, Goyo El Pollo and other rotisserie chicken joints in the area. While I was tempted to get the special 1/4 chicken w/ rice & beans for only $3.49(!), I went for a lomo saltado (grilled steak stir fried with onions & tomatoes, white rice & french fries on the side) for $7.99 and it was pretty standard, but quite tasty. The fries were above average for a Peruvian place. It was a ton of food and I couldn't eat it all. I noticed others getting their food also received large portions, so that's always a plus. Service was kind of slow as they seem to have just opened and are a little disorganized. They only really had one register running full-time, and there was constantly 6-10 people in line. Some of the people behind the counter didn't seem to speak english, and the white girl running the one register was trying to communicate with them in broken spanish with a southern accent, which was pretty amusing. I had a wait a little longer than expected to order and then to get my food, but I think they'll get their act together. I don't know when exactly they opened, but it was pretty recent as I just saw it the other day and they have a "Now Open" sign out front. It was packed, so it seems La Brasa has a good reputation. I'll be back soon to try the chicken special. I give it 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

THE PERUVIAN POLLO TROPICAL! What Caribbean is to Pollo Tropical, Peruvian is to La Brasa. The funny thing too is that there is a real Pollo Tropical only a few yards next door, and I must confess that as I loyal as I am to Pollo Tropical, that particular location (review to come!) is a piece of crap. In fact, I've stopped going that Pollo Tropical all together. The rotisserie chicken I find to be a lot more supple (and cheaper too!). In addition to that they have Peruvian styled fried rice and beef str fry as well as grilled and marinated chicken and fish. You can definitely change up your options here! The one thing is that this place is counter service with only one register. Interestingly enough though the wait for your food itself isn't as lousy like their counterparts next door! And cheaper too!

I am glad I don't have to travel to La Granja, when this is right around the corner from my house. Real bold to put this next to a Pollo Tropical, but the food is much more desireable. They have a current special where you get a whoe chicken with rice and beans for $9.99, and there chicken IMO is way better than Pollo's. Chicken tastes very good. I'm pretty sure I will be going here atleast once a week so I will have plenty of opportunity to review the sides and service. Probably a 3 star for my first experience, which isn't a bad thing . . . but I give it 4 stars for value, location and quality.

Cashier was very nice but the food was terrible. I ate a chicken wrap and I asked for extra cheese which did not make itself into the wrap. The chicken was dry and burnt tasting. My bf ordered a bowl with their stir fry rice and the rice tasted burnt and was drenched in soy sauce his chicken was also dry and burnt. We went around 8 pm which is probably why the quality was so poor but they really need to do a better job in the future. This was both of our first and last time there. On the plus side they have jupina one of my favorite drinks and their garlic sauce was pretty good it helped hide the terrible tasting food

This was my first, and will be my only visit. In their defense, I ordered the 1/4 chicken with rice and beans....not much to wow a person with there but I figured it was safe. There was no "had me at hello" moment. I ate it, but it wasn't enjoyable, not even with the mango BBQ sauce. I felt guilty about the calories afterwards.. :-/

Can't say enough about this place! Keep In mind It's not the newest or fanciest of establishments but the food rocks and the portions are huge! They have all kinds of Latin dishes including chicken, steak, fish and beef. They have a great variety of sides including white rice, black beans, cilantro rice (which is white rice tossed in the yummiest cilantro sauce ever!), yuca, French fries, salad and plantains. Their bowls are yummy! They include your choice of rice with a protein and it's topped with chopped green onions and tomatoes. The portion they give you is insane and I almost always get 2 meals out of them. At about $7 bucks a pop it's a great deal. They also have fried rice bowls with your choice of protein. You can get a quarter or half chicken meal with choice of two sides, a salad with grilled chicken, chicken soup and whole fried fish just to name some of the items on the menu. They have a sauce bar which rocks as well. They have a creamy red sauce and creamy green sauce, an onion relish with chopped spicy peppers mixed in and sliced, pickled jalapeños. All great toppings for your meals. They offer several desserts and a good selection of Spanish sodas as well. La Brasa is definitely a step up from Pollo Tropical (and a much better value) and a huge step up from La Granja (which I find disgusting).

I eat here on a regular basis. The owner and the staff are friendly and helpful. Their sauces are great but the portions could be a little bigger. I never had any complaits about their food and im some what of a picky eater. Great place for lunch and dinner.

Food is great but the cashiers or counter people are beyond rude I don't know if this is the same la brasa as Coral Springs but they could take a lesson from them the one on Atlantic blvd is amazing in comparison in terms or customer service

This place used to be absolutely AMAZING with the previous owners. Free refills, awesome portions, delicious white rice, outstanding desserts. They used to have a corn souffle that they would give to you with the food. The place was clean and a long line of people would stand out of the door. Now it is just a dump. Horrible, dry, burned chicken. No soda refills, no corn souffle. H O R R I B L E. Save your time and money and go to La Granja in Oakland Park for an outstanding meal.

I've grown to really enjoy Peruvian food over the years. From aji de gallina to lomo saltado to papa a la Huancaina, whenever I'm given the opportunity to eat some Peruvian food, I do so and do so with childlike exuberance. OK, maybe not childlike exuberance. But I really enjoy it. The stuff that's exclusive to Peru, anyway. La Brasa, however, doesn't really deviate too much from what you get at a Pollo Tropical or the long-defunct Pollo Supremo. It's chicken over a spit, rice, and beans. Sure, La Brasa offers a few things that Pollo Tropical doesn't: churrasco, lomo saltado, their wonderful garlic sauce. Inca Kola and a few other sundries. But, as a whole, it's not really THAT much different. This one happens to be right next to a Pollo Tropical, but if it's lunchtime, and I'm confronted with the choice of driving a few blocks for a Pollo Tropical or a few miles for La Brasa, I'm likely to pick Pollo Tropical. Again, it's a solid restaurant. Fast, too. It's just not something that entirely stands out.

Much better when they first opened. Now, prices went up, portions down and these cheap people put the soda machine behind the counter and now offer only 1 free refill. 2 things make me never patronize a restaurant again.... no free refills or canned soda. Cheap just plain cheap. Food was luke warm, hard to cut and definitely not enough. And they have nerve to charge .49 for extra hot sauce. They must have new owners. At lunch time there were only two other patrons. I remember when line used to be nearly out the door. And the place was nearly full. Lunch was $12. I wont be back anytime soon.

This was my first visit and I was impressed. I got grilled chicken breast with cilantro rice and tostones. The chicken was hot and juicy and came with a little bit of white onion relish. Very good. The tostones were ok. Crunchy but pretty greasy. I didn't finish them. That cilantro rice, though....oh. BABY. I have a serious love for cilantro and this rice has it mixed in. It is delicious. I could eat it on its own. La Granja has a better onion/relish bar but La Brasa competes when it comes to the food.

The food is pretty good, but the service is mediocre at best. I called for a pick-up order and the guy on the phone wasn't very friendly. When I picked it up, they didn't even put napkins and plasticware in the bag. I just get an overall feeling of not being welcomed there.
