Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

So what can I say! It was a Village inn. I thought they were all but gone. It was clean and the service was good. Walked out the front door of the Hampton Inn and there it was. Leave the car keys in the room. Had a soup and sandwich and it was surprisingly tasty. I was eye-balling the pies but my guilty conscious got the better of me. I recommend it if your looking for some good comfort food.

We have been here several times and always for breakfast. Service is always good. I had a create your own omelet...egg white spinach tomato feta and mushrooms. DELISH! Had grits...delish! English muffin was a bit overtoasted for my taste. Daughter had a funny face pancake...it came with eggs for the hair...blueberry for the eyes. Bacon mouth. Butter nose. She loved it. Everyone else had one of the skillets...everyone enjoyed theirs. Our server, Courtney was awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. Look forward to our next visit to Tallahassee so we can visit again

I have been here a decent amount of times and it's always great food but today we came in with a decent sized group and Ronnie was our server. It was such a pleasure having her and hope management recognizes great employees like her! Thank you again Ronnie! I'm very happy that you were our server today :)

The Village Inn chain offers rock solid comfort food, from coast to coast, and even diagonally across the country, from the Pacific Northwest to the Floridian Panhandle. And the newer Tallahassee, Florida location is no exception. It is off the Thomasville (think furniture) exit from I-10, east of the exits for main arteries such as Monroe Street. They serve all three standard meals, but are well known for breakfast. I suggest eating here on a Wednesday, which is "Pie Rush Wednesday" in Village Inn parlance. This is the day when you get a free slice of pie with WHATEVER you order. I suppose going in for a cup of coffee and getting a free slice of pie would be tacky. However, by ordering a regular meal, it is not at all tacky. This sounds like an exercise in situational ethics. The meals are complete. They offer soup or salad, an entree, two side dishes, and bread. Then, you'll probably want to get a drink. And on Wednesday, you will definitely be opting for a free slice of pie. My only complaint was that, being franchised, the restaurants in other locations handle the free pie offer differently. Generally, the choice is one of several double crusted fruit pies and a cream pie and/or featured pie. In the metro Portland area, if the pie you want is not on that list, they'll give it to you for a minor upcharge. At this location, and many others nationwide, you will pay for that different slice of pie at its regular price. However, when Key Lime pie is on the roster, as was the case on the day of my visit, there's nothing to worry about! A gentleman who traveled up and down Florida for work quipped that this location is 'the standard for all Village Inns in the state.' I'd agree that this is the nicest Village Inn I've been to, with good comfort food, courteous service, value for you dollar, and a squeaky clean restaurant.

I've never been disappointed with this place. Food is good and reasonably priced. Service staff is second to none. Restaurant reminds me of a traditional diner. I always stop there for breakfast or lunch whenever I'm in the area. The American burger is delicious. You get your money's worth at the Village Inn.

We were in search of a place to chat for a while and this Village Inn was right by our hotel. The servers here were adorable - super nice, super Southern. The pies here are outstanding and I couldn't say no. My slice of Coconut Cream was perfect - cold, rich, and with those lovely little threads of coconut. Great place to hangout.

Great breakfast stop! We were staying at a nearby hotel and I felt like eating some real eggs. The place was packed by the time we left with Sunday folks and young families. Service was great and the turkey sausage and biscuits were excellent!

I've found it! The only Village Inn in the continental United States with no dimly-lit booth in the back occupied 24-7 by a contingent of Goths drinking coffee and trading stories about Sisters of Mercy concerts and how life in general is an endless, angst-filled trial of pain and alienation. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

The staff here is always so friendly! From the host to the waiters, everyone seems genuinely happy to ensure you're having a good time. The food is pretty standard diner fare. The crepes are pretty good (they're smothered in whipped cream and syrupy fruit--how can they not be?) and the home style potatoes are great with hot sauce.

I'd love to give this place five stars, but I can hardly bring myself to go any more because of the stink! Yep, I said it stinks, it smells like crap as soon as you walk in the front door. Really odd that this place doesn't recognize and remedy the fowl smell. Otherwise, good place to get breakfast.

I've eaten here for breakfast a couple of times. The food is ok and the price is reasonable. Service is ok as well. Nothing really stood out positively or negatively either way. Would I return? Sure. But when you can do Steak N Shake right behind them for half the price and similar quality food, where do you think I am eating?

Was staying at the Hampton Inn next door and took my staff here for breakfast. Service was outstanding (even for a busy Friday morning) and the food was excellent for the price. They did not seem to mind we used their booth for a little longer than normal for our work meeting.

There's a new Village Inn in town. This one is clean! This one has good service most of the time. This one has great pancakes! And they will be served with sugarless syrup if that is what you need. The heart smart veggie omelet with multi grain pancakes is the best! If any of you west coast readers are looking for a place to start a restaurant that caters to serving breakfast, we desperately need you in Tallahassee. We have a bare minimum of restaurants in town that serve breakfast---no Denny's, no Roscoe's, no IHOP, for pity's sake! For now it is: Stand in line and wait for a table at the Village Inn.
