I gave this 5 stars because of the food & friendly staff. The outside needs a more inviting sign, perhaps with a picture of a Mahi-Mahi or other offshore fish on it. The inside is perfect! I walked in and was quickly greeted by friendly server Angie. We wanted a fresh and healthy seafood choice and that's what we got (pictured, Mediterranean Blacked Mahi-Mahi) tacos & Po-boy).

The food is always good, and the service is great! I was surprised once to find potato salad under my Greek salad, but then found out that's the way they always do it. And there's always a knife but nothing else in the box. Since the food and service are always good, I consider these mysterious quirks and not mistakes. Love having a fast, good seafood place in the neighborhood!

Quick, delicious seafood? It exists? Yes, yes it does. And it's here at the Wharf Express. Now, I usually don't actively go looking to eat at chain restaurants since I really enjoy supporting local businesses (and a let's face it, chains can be sort of boring and lot of them just aren't good). But I drove by this place and then looked at the reviews and figured I would stop in since the food looked SO delicious. I ordered the blackened shrimp with double green beans and was so pleasantly surprised by how tasty and well-seasoned the shrimp were! The portion was plentiful and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. There were some other fish specials going on that I would be tempted to try should I ever come back, but the shrimp was an excellent choice for starters. The green beans were also cooked perfectly -- they weren't dry, nor were they buttery and greasy. Sometimes restaurants go one way or the other when cooking green beans, so I was pretty happy with the side option here. The cole slaw was also a tempting option -- it looked perfectly creamy and fresh. I'll definitely get that the next time I come in. The hush puppies were okay. I wasn't too hot on them because their flavor was sort of bland. Overall, I think this place is worthy of 4.5 stars, but the combination of friendly service, great shrimp and a speedy turnaround time bumps this place to a 5 star rating.

I was a bit skeptical about this place because it didn't look very busy and the location is kind of hidden,but my boyfriend and I went in anyway because of the other good reviews. The food was delicious and in generous portions,we were served promptly,and service was friendly. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants quick and yummy food.

Awesome seafood. Mediocre sides. I've recently had the fried shrimp, which were the best I have had in the area in a while, and the blackened crab cakes, which were also delicious! The cheese grits are bland and that is kind of disappointing because I love me some cheese grits. The other sides are nothing to rave about, but if you like great seafood, it's worth a try!

Great food...fresh, generous portions, gumbo had a good kick to it but not over-bearing...perfect blend of ingredients. Personal service....The owner introduced himself, shook our hands and checked on us a few times. He offered our dogs some water as well. Franchised with a few other stores in the area...I can say this location was GREAT!

We just spent an enjoyable evening at The Wharf for drinks and dinner. The gal that took our order was darling and saw that we had everything we wanted/needed. The food was delicious and came out promptly. The atmosphere was comfortable and casually well done. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. Go you won't regret it.

We have become regulars at this particular location of the Wharf Express. Usually on a Thursday night after a workout. The crew is friendly and after some teasing, they have actually memorized our usual orders. We have consistently gotten a great meal for a good price. The food is fresh and cooked to specifications. We haven't had a bad meal in the time we have been eating here. This is a great spot for a meal with friends or family and if you want to catch a game while eating, they have the TV on most of the time. We're big fans.

this little place is hard to beat. A shrimp po-boy, side greek salad and a drink for $10. That's a great lunch. A good portion of fresh shrimp loaded on great toasted bun. This location is not as crowded as the one on Mahan so the wait is very short. Great lunch spot.

My wife and I were visiting Tallahassee and looking for some good seafood--and we definitely found it! The food at Wharf Express was excellent, the service was prompt and friendly and the prices were VERY reasonable. We don't get to Tallahassee often, but if we get a chance, we will be returning to The Wharf Express.
