I really enjoy Tin Cow.. At the right times. When it's busy, it's really understaffed and loud. If you come during happy hour, which is the only time to come in in my opinion, then you'll have a great experience. Happy hour is Monday-Saturday. Half off apps, great drink specials, what's not to love. My favorite thing on the menu is the truffle oil chips. Basically $3 at happy hour and it's literally a mountain full of them. Sooo good! I also enjoy the premade burgers. My go to is the rescue burger. It's delicious and the best part is proceeds go to charity. Great cause. Drinks are good, the tallywacker milkshake is out of this world. If you're looking for a milkshake that isn't too heavy, this is perfect. It's a good size drink so I'd suggest splitting it with another person. Also if you download the party tutor app, you get $2 off any spiked milkshake at anytime! You're welcome. I'd recommend tin cow, not for the service but cheap apps and drinks during happy hour.

The space provides an open atmosphere, perfect for watching the game. With televisions all around, the comfortable layout excels at catering to any finicky desire. Preferably I would rate Tin Cow three and a half stars. I look to increase the star value after my next visit. It seems most complaints are due to the service/wait times/yadda yadda yadda. However, we had terrific service and the food came out quickly! The server was a stand up guy who was knowledgeable of the food menu and drink specials, and capable of catering to us patrons. I ordered the crab cake appetizer and two Terrapin beers. I wasn't blown away by the crab cakes, but the flavor was definitely there. The cajun mayo topping amplified the savory crab. The sautéed onions underneath added a nice touch. As for the crab itself, ehh - it tasted fine. Their craft beer "can" menu is huge and surprisingly inexpensive. Terrapin is one of my favorite beers, so of course I was thrilled to see their presence on the menu. Tin Cow's name for fame are their spiked milkshakes. Since I haven't tried one yet, I guess my review isn't complete until I taste one of their signature shakes. Tin Cow will definitely see my face again.

We came in about 10 till noon. Maybe 6 tables in play. We had our order in after being here for about 10-15 mins. We received our app after being here for a hour. There is one waitress she seamed nice from what we saw of her. (She did offer a 15% off discount due to the excessive wait) One bartender (doing who knows what) and One Cook who is delivering the food. (To help the one waitress) We did get our burgers after being here about 1.5 hours.. App: Fried Pickle Spears. (They were Luke warm overall flavor was on point) Burger(s): A Kids burger w American Southern Tradition (on point) and the California Love (was ok) Speciality Burgers The thing that makes me the maddest is that the cook and the waitress had to apologize for a management issue. (I truly feel bad for the both of them) When (the so called) manager came over (I honestly had to stop listening I was that pissed.) I can't excuse misguided management. Especially when they won't take accountability. We did walk out after being there for 2 hours. 50% comp. (late order discount) 8 tables that came in after US left before US and we are a table of 3.. Honestly the over all wait killed it for this place. If they can get there crap together they might have a real shot. I would recommend to anyone who goes expect a wait don't go starving and pray they have more staff on duty.

We were seated for fifteen minutes before the waitress came to the table. When the food finally arrived it was pretty gross. The beer was flat and watered down. We were charged for a pitcher of beer we didn't get. The waitress explained that she was having a hard time being attentive because she had five whole tables to wait on.

I've gone to this place a couple of times on both busy and empty nights. The concept : you come in, they sit you and hand you a menu with a pencil where you check in boxes to construct your meal: how you want your burger, and what toppings you'd like and so on. I came here mainly to try the milkshakes since it is what supposedly sets them apart from the other places in Tallahassee. The ambiance is good for watching sports, there are plenty of TVs around! On busy nights the food was much better (except the fries), my meat was cooked as requested and had all toppings I had requested, I had the angus and my bf had bison. The waiter was nice, but my drink was forgotten. I attribute this to how busy it was... my milkshake was good, I could definitely taste the alcohol which I liked! The only thing I REALLY disliked was their french fries, on every occasion I've gone they taste refried and overcooked. I did not order them again after the first time, but I've tried my friend's when they get them and I'm always disappointed. On other occasions on slow nights the food, service, and everything else has been pretty lacking. We waited a long while to get seated even if it was empty, we had to grab the attention of the staff ourselves, After we sat down we got our menus and ordered...we had the 1/2 Angus steak and milkshakes. When I got my burger the meat was not cooked as requested, it was undercooked. When I had it , it definitely had a frozen taste to it, Have you ever stored something in the freezer for a while, and it gets that freezer burn taste? Sort of watery? that is how mine tasted the last couple of times. The tomatoes were soggy and tasted over ripe. Even my milkshakes were weak on the alcohol this time. Patty wise... I think Midtown Caboose, ad Burger Fi have consistent yummy tasting patties with fresher toppings. Even the burger I had at Prime Time (not know as a BURGER establishment) was better than my latest experiences at Tin Cow :( The waiters were not as nice, or helpful as the first time, we were not offered water, or asked if we needed anything else. They took our menus (with the order) they brought the check. That was all I saw of our waiter. Also, I wished they had the option of wrapping your patty on crispy lettuce like other burger joints do. :( I am not sure if I will try them again, I've been a little disappointed by my latest visits.

The Tin Cow hasn't been open that long and no doubt have some kinks to work out. Hopefully management is reading their yelp reviews because everything is fixable. If not they'll continue to pile up the 2 and 3 star reviews, which is a shame because they really do have some good burgers. Let's start with the good. The Burgers, which is most likely the reason you are coming here. They have lots of options for the build your own burger, from the type of beef, buns, cheese, toppings, sauces - you can really tap into your inner chef. On their website they brag that they have 10,888,869,450,418,352,000,000,000,000 burger combinations. While they may be slightly exaggerating, it did explain why I spent more time studying the menu/ check list than I did for my last final exam at FSU. I think the key is not to overdo it, especially if you are going for the Kobe beef, like I did. I didn't try the regular angus beef, but for only $3 more, the Kobe was a no brainer. It made for a nice juicy burger. Next up you then select, your doneness, which they breakdown into "pink" and "not pink". I guess why split hairs on medium rare, medium, and medium well. In a burger it pretty much does come down to pink or not pink. For good quality beef, it's nice to have some pink to it. I topped it with Swiss cheese, extra thick bacon, grilled onions, tomatoes, Ortega chillies, and garlic aioli. Then chose to put it on an onion roll. 4.5 stars for the burger. But 1 star for the side of bacon infused potato chips. They were overcooked and had no bacon flavor. Just tasted burnt. yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… Being late Friday night, we took advantage of The Tin Cow's late night happy hour from 11pm - 2am. We got half off appetizers so we tried a couple of them. The cajun crab cakes were pretty meh. Lots of breading, they were on the cold side, and way too much cajun mayo all over the top of them. Rather than try to make a pretty pattern out of it, they should put that mayo stuff on the side so you can dip as needed. It didn't really add anything and made the crab cakes pretty mushy. Adding to the mush was the bed of sautéed onions that the crab cakes were sitting on. All of that said, at this price point ($7) you shouldn't really be expecting Maryland Lump Crab cakes, and to top it off it was half off so ($3.50). Nothing gained, nothing lost, but only 2 stars. yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… The Colossal Wings were much better. We just got the usual buffalo hot sauce with them, but they do have other options. These were piping hot and it was most likely the reason our crab cakes were cold as they were waiting for these breaded wings to emerge from the fryer. While they were quite large and tasty, it was the "gimmick" that was their downfall. What makes these wings "Colossal", is that they don't cut them into two. The drumette is still attached to the rest of the wing. They sure look big and impressive served that way, but perhaps there is a reason that nobody else serves them like that. Good luck breaking them apart, while they are frying hot and all covered in sauce. My buddy and I kept burning the heck out of our fingers, trying not to splatter our clothes with sauce as we fought to break these things apart. Use a knife you say? You ever try to break through the joint of a chicken or turkey with a normal table knife? It ain't going to happen. So my advice to the Tin Cow is useless you want to provide a carving set with each order, just serve them like every other restaurant in America does. It's a tried and true formula that works. 3 stars. yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… The biggest problem with The Tin Cow is the service. I know it's a college town and most of the help isn't going to be super experienced, but your restaurant won't exist for long if service is usually this inept. All of our food came out at the same time, which is always a no no when ordering appetizers. We were only fighting with our first chicken wing, when the burgers showed up. We repeatedly had to ask for the same things over and over. Napkins, forks, glass of water, etc.... Her forgetfulness was impressive, and this was after we kept trying to find her. The place wan't very busy, so I'm not sure why she was so flustered. 1 star for service. Like I said, the burgers here are too good to let these fixable things make customers stay away. Hopefully they get it together soon.

I went here for lunch shortly after they initially opened. There was still some minor construction/installation going on inside, but nothing bad or distracting. We were seated immediately and had a very attentive waitress. I liked the concept here where you build a burger from a list of options on the menu or pick a pre-built one. The quality of the food was fine, but it doesn't really set itself apart from the other places in town to get a good burger. The milkshake menu was really interesting; my wife enjoyed the one that she got. This would be a good place to eat and watch a game on TV and probably is a better bar experience than a restaurant experience. Definitely worth checking out for the unique milkshakes, but not stellar otherwise.

The best burger I've had in Tallahassee I've had. Juicy, tender, delicious, The menu is made for a fully customizable experience, unlike anything I've experienced before. The fries were incredible, and so was the shake. Definitely my default burger joint now.

This place was AWFUL. I was excited to try a good burger and spiked milkshake place, but Tin Cow needs a lot of improvements if they're going to survive. I went with some friends on a Saturday night for dinner. The atmosphere was like a club - dark and extremely loud, except no one was dancing, so we weren't the ones out of place. We asked to be moved outside because our waitress couldn't hear us. It wasn't much better outside - service was lousy and the food tasted like it was frozen and heated up. We didn't get the right food and had to wait forever for service, even though the place was close to empty. There was also an extremely intoxicated man walking around the porch vomiting and trying to sit at our table (not the restaurant's fault, but they also didn't do anything to handle the situation.) The menu itself was impressive - tons of burger and milkshake options. However, the food itself was expensive and tasted terrible. The Tin Cow needs to define the atmosphere of their establishment and train their staff if they expect to stay in business.I love food and I rarely don't finish a meal, but I had to go get a burger from McDonald's after eating here because the one Tin Cow gave me was inedible.

If they just sold milkshakes I would like this place! But my bf and I both ordered Brie on our burgers but whatever that white stuff was wasn't Brie... Our friends burger was everything he asked for but was still nothing to write home about... Atmosphere is nice but a little confused and the waitress was great but I wouldn't eat their food again...

Terrible atmosphere: The music was so loud (with all of 6 people there) that we had to sit outside in order to hear the waitress. Terrible food: Doesn't matter how you ask the burger to be cooked, it's coming out an over cooked piece of rubber. And despite the pictures, "Texas toast" means cold piece of white bread. Don't waste you time or money. They also need to learn how to cut off customers who have had too much to drink. The guy was falling over drunk, kept trying to sit at our table (and getting belligerent when we told him to leave), and it had to take him vomiting on the patio to be escorted out.

OK the atmosphere isn't the greatest but for the price you pay for make-your-own burgers and the tasty results, this is easily one of my favorite places in town. Sauerkraut, swiss cheese, wheat bun, and Guiness mustard tastes about as delicious as it sounds. Plus cheap beer and bar hours means you can go even after a late movie since everything in Tallahassee seems to keep AARP hours and closes its kitchens by 10. The milkshakes are also good, but seem a little pricy. However, you're definitely paying for the booze as you don't need much else after finishing one of their many creative choices.

My Coworkers and I eat out everyday for lunch, and we frequently visit the Tin Cow, imo excellent burgers! During lunch it's very quiet and relaxing, but can get bumping in the evening. Check it out.

The food is not bad. Quite tasty actually but the service was terrible. We literally sat and waited for an extra 45 min before our food came out. Our server was lacking in hospitality and proper etiquette. She used profound language and was very unprofessional. If you want a quick bite to eat I would not recommend this place.

Their spiked milkshakes are delicious. Burger tasted great, I don't know what some of these other reviews are talking about. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

I came here for a late night meal with friends because I was interested in the spiked milkshakes. I really wish I hadn't. For starters, the music was blaring so loudly I couldn't hear my friends, and when the waitress came over she apologized saying "sorry, you probably can't hear me"...ok, then turn the music down! We were the only table so it really seemed ridiculous to be blaring music with no customers inside. We moved outside, which was a lot better but our waitress became non existent after that. The food was not good. I got a burger and you could tell it was a frozen patty. Dry and tasteless. Also, their Texas toast is just plain white bread. Very disappointing considering Tallahassee has a million burger places that serve great burgers. If this place wants to be competitive they need to lower their prices or better their quality. The spiked milkshake was just ok. Anytime we needed anything we had to go inside to get our waitress who was just chit chatting w/the other employees. I wouldn't go back here, and I definitely don't recommend this place to others.

I don't know what all the other reviews are talking about. This place had some damn fine burgers. I think all the shitty reviews scared all the customers away because it was pretty empty, but that's fine, more meat for me. Oh and the alcoholic milkshakes are great too!
