Panhandle seafood house that delivers as good as it can possibly get. For a recent visit, they brought out absolutely classic representations of large fried shrimp, golden fried grouper filet. Service was casual, punctual and friendly. The cornmeal coating on our fish and shrimp had a perfect crunch and revealed moist, fish and shrimp. We hit the Goldilocks zone in the sides, too. Great coleslaw, served with the local fave, a pickle slice. Cheese grits were creamy and delicious. Perfect, crunchy, oniony hushpuppies. They even had my love, Crystal hot sauce. In every way, Seineyard delivered everything we could want in traditional, FLA-GA-BAMA food. Oh, and the sweet tea was also classic, the color of cola and you could taste the black pekoe. The filet was so big, I got to enjoy it for a home lunch the next day. AWESOME!

Very good for what it is: a casual spot for fried seafood. We loved the oysters and the cheese grits were exceptional. The salad could have been more fresh and exciting, but I didn't exactly go there for salad, so that was to be expected. I recommend this spot to anyone who prefers fresh seafood well fried in a casual environment.

Our new fave seafood restaurant in Tallahassee. Super friendly service, so many choices, and absolutely delicious food. The homemade dressing was great. Got to have both the grilled and blackened oysters. Clean pleasant atmosphere.

Restaurant is terrible and management does not seem to care. Ordered a grouper sandwich to go with cheese. They threw a slice of wrapped American cheese product still in the wrapper in my French fries which melted together with the plastic wrap. Called and complained and they offered refund but acted as if I was the one with the issue because I asked for cheese. The sandwich was a good piece of grouper but not cheap at $15+. This place is a pass, nothing special and bad attitudes. Prices are high and food is nothing unique.

We visited on a Friday for lunch. This was once our favorite place. This trip, the fish was rubbery ( how do you make fish rubbery?) We both had the special red snapper. Pricey and awful. The 2 is for the great onion rings and our server. The management said they did not see anything wrong with the fish, but we could order something else. We did not. We paid and left. The was the third bad meal. Three strikes, you are out!

Friday evening, the place is packed. Took a few minutes before server arrived. Its noisy, but who cares! The food is good and plentiful. House Greek dressing is tasty and different. Blackened grouper and shrimp seasoned and cooked perfectly. Baked potato a little under cooked. One of my favorite seafood stops

OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE. The only way it could get better ...if it was sitting on the dock of the bay. (Yes like the song). The new location saves the long trip to the other side of town but doesn't short you on the quality of food. The best seafood is fresh - and this place is golden. I had the grilled mullet and it was cooked to perfection- and I was so surprised with the huge no frill portions. I just wish google maps could find this place better. If coming from Lake Ella it's in the Publix plaza near the corner with from Siam Sushi (which you should also try). Again I say come for the food - nothing special about the decor.

Oh, how I love me some fried mullet and oysters!!! The worst thing about living up north is you can't get you some good ole' fried mullet and oysters (and even if you could, you wouldn't want to, because, well, you are not in The South anymore.) Whenever I come back home to Tally, this is one of the first places I demand to go eat (the other being Sonny's BBQ). The service is friendly (though, admittedly, occasionally slow, especially after they've served you dinner) and the atmosphere is family casual and, in its own way, festive. Now, if you get the salad as a side (and I always do), do try the house dressing. It is a creamy-but-not-too-thick dressing, somewhere between a creamy italian and a ranch, and it comes in a funny fish-shaped bottle. I love it. And if you ask, they will bring you extra onions, which I save for the fish, (Here's what I like to do: bite off a piece of mullet, put some cheese grits in your mouth, and top it with a bit of fresh onion...mmm! The cook at our southern church, and elderly black gentleman, taught me that long, long ago.) Now, the oysters here used to be bigger, which allows the oysters, when nicely fried, to deliver that perfect texture of briney-milky meatiness that I crave. These days, the oysters are a bit smaller, but that's not Seinyard's fault, now is it? It is that way all over the Panhandle, it seems. I do take off some of the breading so it doesn't overwhelm the oysteriness of delight. So I used to be all about the oysters, but now I am all about the fried mullet. To me, mullet tastes of sunny beach days and ocean breezes. Yes, it is true that there are many many many bones. If you don't like picking out bones, don't get the mullet -- and just miss out on one of the finer flavor sensations in life. But hey, the napkins come free and plenty, and we're all friends here at the table, right? So what's the problems with eating with your fingers and spittin' out a few little bones now and again? Trust me, it is worth the trouble. (And unlike Hanako A., I have never experienced overcooked fish here.) My folks always get the grouper and catfish with the Jr. FIsherman's platter. They are always fresh and tender, but never as tasty as the mullet. The shrimp and scallops are just fine, too -- fried or broiled, its all good. Boy oh boy, do we love the cheese grits here! Oh, I'm sure its not real chedder in them grits, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be wanting real cheddar in my grits. (In my cheese-grit-making experience, I reckon you are best off not thinking about your health and just adding alarmingly large amounts of butter, salt, and cheeZe. Yes, cheeze with a "Z" -- perhaps from a squirty can or some other easy-melt, over-processed version of cheeze that starts with the letter "V.") And I find the grittiness just right -- but everyone has their own preference of grit level. I also love the hush puppies, and the cole slaw is not too bad, either. Tastes house made, not from a restaurant-supply jar. The only thing that has disappointed me here is the Key lime pie. It is too sweet, the texture on the dense side, and the topping is like stabilized whipped cream. Now, there are as many opinions of the perfect KLP as there are opinions about grit level in cheese grits, but this is just not representative of my ideal KLP. Overall I think some places closer to the coast are better, and I think the original Seinyard is better -- but The Other Seinyard is in my neighborhood, and it does the job and does it well. See you there on my next visit home!

I have eaten at The Other Seinyard on several occassions and I've always enjoyed it. You have to know going in that this is a no-frills seafood joint with fresh and tasty seafood. Some have commented that it's overpriced, but I find the prices to be very fair for the quantity and quality of the food. If you have a craving for some good seafood, give The Other Seinyard a try.

Excellent seafood with a very friendly and attentive staff! Service was excellent and portions were large enough to take plenty home for leftovers. Have a couple of large flat screens for sports but would not compare atmosphere to a sports bar, definitely more of a casual restaurant vibe with fluorescent lighting, etc.

I went out a limb and went to this place because I had heard good and bad things. I gotta say it is now one of my favorite places. I used to go to Cracker Barrel for their Friday catfish finger special. NO LONGER!! I ordered the catfish finger special ($12) and what I got was 5 catfish arms! It was served with 2 sides and hushpuppies. This as a TON of food. I ate dinner and took the rest home for lunch the next day. My companion ordered blackened shrimp, which were also good. It's right by Painting with a Twist, so I'd say make a night of it!

First time dining here with a coworker who recommended it as a favorite of his family. The staff is attentive and the food is really good. Seafood is fresh and seasoned well. Not too spicy and not too salty.

They have some of the best Catfish nuggets and hush puppies I have ever had. I definitely will be going back there for a another fix very soon!

This place is always crowded during lunch and dinner on the weekends, we'd decided we would visit here eventually. After leaving the grovers we visited here at the spur of the moment. The lunch traffic had died down; therefore, we were expecting GREAT service. This must have been the time their servers usually take lunch breaks. It seemed everyone was willing to refill our drinks or attend to our needs except our server, which was really nice- just different. Who gets the tip? Our waitress was pretty busy eating and gossiping with another waitress most of the time. My husband ordered catfish and it was over-seasoned. They server apologized, the cook even came out and said he was sorry and made the prettiest and best tasting fish we'd ever tasted. I ordered scallop and shrimp, plentiful and great flavor. We'll visit again!

Can't believe this has been here a couple of months already. If it is as good as the original in Woodville this will save me some gas. And...it is as Good as the original! No more driving to Woodville from Lake Jackson to get good local seafood.

I have been here twice since moving to TLH and i got the same thing each time....the seafood platter. It is really good. The first time i got it with talapia and i loved it. The second time i had mullet. I had never had mullet before so i wanted to try it. Never again. It was not filleted. It was full of bones so it completely spoiled my second meal there. I dont know if mullet just isnt normally filleted or if it is just this restaurant that does not fillet it but it really ruined my second experience with The Other Seineyard. The cheese grits are great and so are the hushpuppies. The employees are really nice too.

The atmosphere is decent and the service was about average. Very friendly. But that could have been because my grandfather is known there and is wealthy. My salad with blackened shrimp was a 4 out of 5 and so was my visit as a whole.

Meh. I'll never understand why The Seinyard restaurants are so popular. They overcook your seafood whether it's grilled, fried or blackened. They have a bad habit of substituting fresh grouper for some variation of white flesh fish, like catfish, Asian whitefish, tilapia, etc. (which is very illegal in our state!)

If you are looking for down home good seafood then this is your place. I am tired of restaurants making local seafood into fancy dishes. Let me taste the fish and shrimp! Love the service and sweet tea!

We had been watching and waiting for The Other Seinyard to open near us. We adore the original restaurant, so last weekend, when we happened to see it was finally open, we pounced. Lunch was on! The new restaurant was nicely appointed, clean, and smelled delicious. The booths are nice, with very high backs, though that did not save us from the very, very LOUD person who was yakking away on one side of us. Wait staff were nice and helpful. Both of us love grouper and so grouper throat baskets it was. I got double hushpuppies and my guy got his extra coleslaw and fries. The hush puppies here are more of a corn fritter. They are a bit on the sweet side and have corn in them. The baskets came with at least four huge chunks of fish in them. At my first bite, I noticed my grouper had a "muddy" taste I usually identify with catfish or mullet. Disappointing, but the fish was all right. However, I don't think I will be ordering this grouper again. It did not taste like gulf grouper in the least. My guy felt the same way about his fish, but the coleslaw was good (I tasted his) and the fries that came in a big basket were fresh and golden brown. All in all, the meal was not as good as our Wharf Express experience of a few weeks earlier, or the original Seinyard experiences, but it was a good, fresh meal for the most part. I'll go back, but I will not order the grouper again.

I ate at The Other Seineyard Seafood Restaurant on Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 at around 8:45 p.m. The place was about 1/2 full, (probably due to FSU football team having at home game at 3:30 and either everyone was at the game, or at home watching it on TV.) They have a nice big screen TV in the dining area to watch games. The food was very good, I had the Seineyard Platter for $14.99, your choice of 4 diff fish, and 8 shrimp, 8 oysters and 8 scallops. I got the grouper to go with it and had it all blackened. I also got 2 side dishes. The food was very good, nothing fancy, just decent seafood. Dress is very casual and prices are moderate, most dishes are about $10-$16 per person. Overall, good seafood, I will definitely go back.

Nothing fancy, but hey, it mostly fried seafood, so how fancy can it be? We went there for the first time recently and went away happy. Prices seemed right, the food was solid, and the service was fine. I have to say that the cheese grits were the absolute worst I've ever had -- it was more like fluffy cheese pudding, with absolutely no "grit" to it at all. But the hushpuppies made up for the lousy grits. We don't eat fried seafood very often, but when we do, it'll probably be here. (And yes, they have non-fried options, we just didn't try any of them)

first, the food is good. yet, while the quality of the food is right up there with the original, the "it's now in tallahassee fee" is up there too. higher prices for dishes and sides. the money you would spend on gas getting to woodville is eaten up on the menu. also the charm and warmth of the original is gone. the new one is sterile almost in it's lack of decor. but don't worry folks everything is still served on paper plates and in baskets, but because it's in tallahassee you get metal silverware.

First off, terrible service. I don't care if my order is messed up or a server accidentally pours sprite into my water, but I do care about being greeted at the door. I walk in and there is no one at the front counter. There are a group of people sitting at a booth about fifteen feet away. They survey me and then finally a guy climbs out of the booth, gives me a menu and tells me to sit anywhere. I do. I find a nice table by the window. I tell him I'm meeting someone but I do not get an extra menu. He asks me what I would like to drink. A different server brings me my water and asks me if I'm ready to order. I tell her no thank you, I am meeting someone. A few minutes later ANOTHER server approaches my table and asks me if I'm ready to order. I tell her no thank you, I am meeting someone. My friend shows up and she sits there for a good five minutes before anyone else approaches our table (I'd just like to point out here that we are the only customers in the restaurant). Our food takes a good twenty minutes. (I work in the restaurant industry and I am aware that some things take longer to cook, but where I work, if there is only one person in the restaurant their food comes out in 5-7 minutes.) The food was not acceptable for the $9.50 that I paid for it. Milky grits and a messy sandwich. Overall, it was a bad experience and I am really disappointed because my mother praised the original Seineyard and begged me to try it out. I'm just turned off by the whole idea now. (And I have a stomach ache.)
