Let me tell you, out of all the sushi restaurants that I have been to in Tallahassee, Miyako is certainly one of the best. The staff is very friendly, the space is beautiful, and the food is excellent. They have hands-down the best spicy tuna that I have ever had. The prices are decent and they also have a pretty respectable beer and wine selection. The fish is always fresh and well-prepared. Presentation is beautiful. The owners are always happy to cater to any special dietary restrictions, special items not on the menu, etc. Two words: Tofu Satay. Love it.

Love this place! Great food and service, this is one of the few places where I will eat sushi. My palette is very limited when it comes to sushi, I eat the same roll almost every time I come here so I can't comment too much on the sushi menu but I love the tempura appetizers, steak fried rice and the Kikkoman plum wine is SO good! At most Japanese/Chinese restaurants I have been to they offer Fuki or Takkara and I really prefer the Kikkoman, one of the main reasons this is one of my favorite spots.

Very fresh food and good presentation. Quiet, hostess and servers not very outgoing. Nothing special about the service.

Nice little restaurant. Food was fresh and presentation very nice. Portion size is small though. The quality of the sushi was very good and I liked the way the chef cut the pieces. I will probably go back since it not so far from home

Surf and Turf is consistently tender and delicious. Never overcooked or over-seasoned. Wait staff is always friendly. A great place to eat and talk.

Favorite sushi spot in Tallahassee. Quiet atmosphere and good service. We love the spicy tuna roll and the shrimp tempura roll.

If you are looking for decent sushi at a reasonable price, it's hard to beat. There are better sushi places in town, but for a family with 2 teens that devour sushi, this is a great option.. Try the 3 roll combo. Very good Miso!

Been here several times since my last review and the quality has dropped. Just left our last dinner there and will not be going back. Sushi was warm, the fish inside the rolls was scarce but all other filler was cut large and dominate. The prices for dinner do not warrant what is served. Hate to review places down, but at two stars, I am still rounding up in their favor.

Clean. Delicious. Reasonably priced (remember, we're talking about sushi here). Have NEVER had a bad meal. Not only do I feel this is, BY FAR, the best sushi in Tallahassee, I think it's the best in all of Florida.

This place was highly recommended by one of my friends. YELP reviewers even gave it a high rating so I decided to have dinner at this venue. I'm not a very picky person at all but at the same time I like to enjoy good food and this place didn't meet that expectation. My friend ordered the chicken hibachi. It came with fried rice, noodles, and vegetables. I on the other hand ordered the shrimp tempura. The presentation was very deceiving. It looked great on the plate but there was no flavor at all. The panko breading on the shrimp tempura didn't have any seasoning and it tasted very subpar. Its like the soy sauce that came as a side would be the saving grace for this plate but it shouldn't be that way. The chicken hibachi is a different story. Instead of having no flavor, it was very salty thus causing the flavors to be unbalanced. If it wasn't for the texture, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference of each item on the hibachi plate. Now I'm not saying that this place has the worst Japanese food in town. That wouldn't be fair because I was only able to taste two items from the menu and looking back at it, I wish I had ordered the sushi instead because every reviewer here raved about it but for the price of each plate ($15 each), I expected a wow factor but instead we left disappointed. So disappointed that I'd rather eat at Mr. Robotos (college japanese food) and pay $10 or less than come back here.
