I use to love this place back in college, but on my recent trip back to Tallahassee for graduation weekend I realized there are better wing places out there. For starters the wing sauce is not cooked well into the wing rather its just slathered and dripping. I must say though that the wing sauces are great in theory! Wing size is also a problem unfortunately. I also got the Texas Melt, which contrary to what the menu description leads you to believe, is not really that big and messy! There wasn't enough cheese, bbq sauce or onion ring. Again all the menu items sound amazing...in theory...maybe next time I'll try a different location and update my post but for now I guess I have to stick with this one :(

This is literally the worst hobbits in Tallahassee. I moved from the college side of Tallahassee, so I was used to the hobbits on Pensacola. When I moved over to this side, I was excited to see there was a hobbits close by. I was happy to see they still had the .59 cent wings on Thursday and Sunday's. However, I will NEVER go back to this hobbits. They serve old dry chicken, you might as not well put sauce on it and call an ambulance because you'll choke on it. Every time I want wings I drive to the Pensacola location. They have bigger wings and their wings aren't old and dry. Save your money!

This WAS our FAVORITE place to go for wings. BUT, I called in an order for pick up. My husband walks in ti pick up the order that was ready on time...no problem....BUT an employee is down on the floor using a wet rag to clean the dirty kick boards...that's a good thing right?....WRONG!... she then stands up and puts the dirty rags on the counter!....Then they bring out our wings and set them on the rags!!!!...Then without washing her hands she begins to ring up our order. We did not take the food and went else where!...YUCK! and NASTY!

Down in Tallahassee and stopped into the hobbit for some brews and quick eats. It was nothing more than a neighborhood sports bar with a bunch of TVs, co-ED servers and decent wings. Being from Buffalo its hard to find good wings away from home but this place had some decent wings but their extra hot sauce wasn't really as hot as advertised. What really made this place stand out was their service... it took a while to get our drinks and food but our server was beyond friendly, high energy and always smiling. Next time I'm in this city I'll likely stop back in. Food - Decent Service - Excellent Dress - Casual, it's a bar Location - IDK everything here appears to be around Capital Circle

Fun and friendly environment with great service - I will definitely return. We came here to watch a recent Florida State Seminoles away game and partake in the celebratory atmosphere that is football with some fellow 'Noles fans. The Hobbit is a very casual sports bar atmosphere. We sat ourselves and our drinks were brought to us in styrofoam cups (which I thought was a bit wasteful personally..). The environment was very standard sports bar with a lot of sports memorabilia and television all over the place, which is great if you came to watch the game like we did. The Hobbit has a full bar and what looked like a decent array of beers on tap, but we did not partake. I believe the soft drinks here are Pepsi. The food choices range from wraps to sandwiches (like Philly Cheese) to burgers to wings. I really wanted to get some of the boneless wings but ten of them were over $8 with no sides. The menu claims the wings are one of their specialties. Instead of wings I chose a burger called the Dixie Burger which was 1/2 pound with sauteed onions, pepperjack (or provolone?) cheese, and a yellow Carolina-style barbecue sauce (from a bottle I believe). The burger's toppings were a great combination and very tasty. The meat itself was good but relatively flavorless and cooked medium-well. The fries were very good, with a hint of seasoning and cooked nice and crispy, great for dipping in ketchup. By the far the most tasty thing we had during our time at the Hobbit was our appetizer of pretzel bites served with pub cheese. These were very tasty! I really do wish the portion was bigger though. For around $5 we got about 8 thumb-sized bites of pretzel and even dipping like crazy we couldn't use up all the delicious cheese (or cheese product?). They were very good - soft and warm. Yum! My dining companion had a cheese burger wrap which she like alright. Her face did not exactly *light up* at the first bite but she definitely didn't think it was bad either. All considered, the Hobbit is a great place to catch a football game or meet with friends in a clean, open, and friendly environment with plenty of televisions. The food is not the best in Tallahassee, but I would absolutely choose to come to the Hobbit American Grill rather than the Beef O'Brady's down the street or the Miller's Ale House on Appalachee.

Hobbit American Grill--Tallahassee's premier sports bar! The minute you walk into the place you know you've arrived! Enormous TVs line each wall so you'll never miss a play of the big game. I thought I was at an IMAX theatre! Sink down into those cushy chairs and you'll think you're sitting on a cloud, but don't fall asleep! You don't wanna miss their world-class food!!! From piping hot corn nuggets to incredible burgers to Tallahassee's most magnificent margaritas (that's a mouthful!), Hobbit has you covered, but don't leave without trying their six-star wings (they're so great you've GOTTA give 'em an extra star!)!!!! Moist, succulent meat enrobed in mahogany crust so crisp it shatters when you bite it, all smothered in the sauce that made them famous...I'm drooling just thinking about them!!!!! And I've gotta give a shout out to Tallahassee's best waitresses. They know everything on their impressive beer list, backwards and forwards, and can even suggest beer and food pairings. It's like having a sports bar sommelier!!!!!! Try 'em and you'll agree! So......what are you waiting for?????

I visit 2-3 times a month and have never had a bad experience. The wings are the best in town with a great flavor lineup! Service is a little slow during busy times but hey, it's busy!

Literally worst restaurant/sports bar in Tallahassee. Came here one time- food made us sick. For some reason- we decided to come back. Worst. Idea. Ever. Food is less than mediocre...service horrendous. The worst experience I've had in a restaurant in my life. The waiters/waitresses actually "wait" on their tables probably once every 30 min. In the menu they have a "disclaimer" which is probably supposed to be cute but in actuality is so distasteful. The bathroom was REPULSIVE. No lock on the bathroom door. I would NEVER walk out in a restaurant but honestly the service here is so terrible- no one would notice if you did. Will never come back.

The short review is just skip it. When I sat down and saw the mimeographed menus I assumed that they were going for kitsch. When I read the wacky "Don't send your food back 'cause we won't take it" I again assumed that they were going for kitsch. The menu reads like a temptation challenge from "The Biggest Loser". Fried, fried and more fried. Dammit if all that you do is fry stuff then do it well! Soggy fries and a turkey melt that sweated enough grease to saturate the paper lined basket it was served in. The whole place is in a general state of disrepair. Mismatched linoleum in the ladies room. It appeared that a wall was moved and no attempt was made to replace or match the flooring. The tower dispenser has been replaced with a unit of a different size and the wall wasn't painted around the new installation. Mismatched chairs, dinged up linoleum tables. Just a mess. My waitress was wonderful. I hope that she finds a job at a better place very soon.

Stopped in for the Thursday 59 cent wing night. Great service. Food took a little long to arrive but understandable as the place was pretty packed. Ordered pretzel bites as an appetizer and they were good. Not quite as hot as they should have been but good nonetheless. Ordered 25 wings of various flavors and I and my daughter were very pleased. Tip: The hot wings weren't as hot as some other places I've been so if you like them hot you may want to consider ordering the extra hot.

One of the first places I checked out in Tallahassee and apparently it's a local staple. I'll keep the review short. Although the service was odd...it was really slow and we walked in and weren't sure whether to seat ourselves or not. It was one of those moments. I'll give them a break, because they seemed understaffed and there was a massive group of people that came in together. To sum it up, it's a sport bar. I love Buffalo Wild Wings...I could care less that it's an extremely popular chain. They do things right. Hobbit is similar. I walked away satisfied. Good wings, cheap beer, and doesn't try to be something it's not. I would almost call it a hole-in-the-wall Sports Bar. A perfect one in that regard.

Was here for trivia on Halloween. Really fun and a great atmosphere. I would definitely come back to watch football games here if I were the sort of person to do that in sports bars. I had the curly fries and they were delicious! Only thing is the service was kind of slow, but I've been told that's normal.

The Hobbit is a Tallahassee standard - meaning I assume that it's been around forever and is "standard" food at best. If you've eaten at a typical American restaurant then you've been here. Burgers, fries, cheese steaks, and wings - all done decently but done considerably better at better establishments. Food aside, I'd recommend the Hobbit if you want to drink cheap, crappy beer in a place with no ambience. If you're a PBR drinker 10 oz drafts are $1, pitchers $5. There's a decent number of TVs so it's a good place to watch a game, but expect to wait a damned long time for your food because the service is epically slow. Even slower if you order carry-out.

wings were pretty good but on the small side and the bleu cheese was the best i've ever had at a wing joint but the service was horrible. our server took our order and we never saw her again for the rest of our meal. no water refills, no check ups and we had to go ask another server for our check after 40 minutes. her name was tiffani n. not coming back thanks to her.

Hobbit has been a staple in Tallahassee for many years. Despite the previous review, Hobbit is a fun sports bar and has been a great place to grab some wings, some beer and watch the games.

service was good, food was ok, small portions and expensive for lunch. $13 after the tip and no alcohol.
