I fell in love with 1 Fresh when I lived in Tallahassee for a couple years. My husband and I return to town to visit family annually, and we always have to grab lunch or dinner from here. We dined here Sunday afternoon around 1:30pm with good friends, and I was surprised that we were the only diners in the restaurant. However, it didn't make my incredible stir fry any less tasty. I ordered the Teriyaki #2 sauce with brown rice, chicken, carrots, onions, pineapple, raisins, scallions, and cashews. Perfection!

So much lost potential in this restaurant over the years. I've been going since they first opened when I was in high school and now after graduating college. Every time I visited Tallahassee I would drag my family here, but after this last visit I think I've lost those privileges. The quality of the ingredients has slowly deteriorated. Probably because they can't keep up with the massive menu though we have never ordered anything outside of the build your own bowls. The menu is a book now. Seriously. A spiral bound novel. I ordered a simple chicken bowl with veggies and the peanut sauce. But lately they've been skimping on white meat chicken and mixing in dark meat. And will they start trimming the fat off ever? No one likes to take a big bite out of that. The rest of the family was not happy. One got spaghetti and meatballs (why are they even offering that??) and the other got a very small portion of vegetables on top of their giant mound of rice. They do this if you choose more premium veggies, but it just makes them look cheap. Sauce selection is hit or miss. Overly sweet, very heavy, or just right. Stick with the peanut sauce. Like the ingredients, I think these can do with a little more freshness and it would be nice to have some healthier options. Two stars because I think they can still turn it around. And I really, really hope they do.

Not my favorite, but not bad. I understand that I made my own dish, but I am not responsible for the charred tofu that I received on my plate. It was almost inedible, but I tried to cut off the burned pieces and eat the rest of my plate in peace. Next time, I will try a meat product, and hope for better results. Despite this, the service was great, and the restaurant itself was clean and well maintained. I will be back to try it again (and update this review, hopefully).

Creative approach! Congenial staff, great ingredient options. Very intuitive ordering process. I've come several times and have figured out which combinations are best for me. Think of it as a reasonably priced genghis grill without the frills!

Locally owned and awesome! I recently moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and the thing that I miss most from Tallahassee is 1 Fresh. My only complaint about them is they don't have FedEx delivery of their rice bowls to my area. I'm going back to Tally for a visit in February and I will stop at 1 Fresh first before visiting anyone else. Yeah mom, this means you... If your food was this good, maybe I'd visit you first!

One of my favorite places in town (and my girlfriend Kelly agrees). If you have a bad experience, it's your own fault because it is totally what you make it with its innovative selection system. Dry erase markers and laminated menus make building your bowl a fun time. Do it right and it comes out quite tasty. Kelly recommends getting a quinoa bowl and the sweet and spicy sauces. You are given an unlimited number of veggies and garnishes so it's fun to mix and match!

You walk in, grab a menu and make your selection. Starch, proteins, veggies and toppings. Hubby and I came here for our Friday afternoon date. I had black rice, beef and chicken, zucchini, carrots, water chestnuts, napa cabbage mixed with two sauces that they gladly let me try first. Bob sauce mixed with sweet ginger brown. Yum! Hot and a little sweet. Hubby had brown rice & quinoa, chicken, pork, eggs- veggies of mushrooms, baby corn, zucchini, onions cabbage and black beans with sweet ginger brown, teriyaki ll and sweet baby rays topped with scallions , cilantro, basil and almonds. That man has an iron stomach. He is very impressed with this place! The service is friendly, the restrooms clean and the floors and tables were very clean. Keep in mind what this place is (fast and good) and it deserves the 5 stars today! I'll be back! Update: still clean and friendly. Still fast and so very good. What concerns me is that it is 12:30 and only 5 tables are taken up. Come on people! This place deserves better. Meanwhile, Mickie-d is packed and Sonny's is crowded. Get your fresh on!

1 fresh has a very cute concept. You can use a marker and circle what you want on the menu. Sounds so much fun, but the taste and the prices are not. I ordered a 7.99 bowl with shrimp 2.99. I knew I was most likely gonna get 5 shrimp, so I ordered extra shrimp for 1.99. I had I total of 7 shrimp in my stir fry bowl. The teriyaki sauce was insanely too sweet. It was so sweet that when the sauce cooled down, the corn in my bowl had crystallized sugar formed on it. It was a $ 15 dollar bowl, that tasted like something that should have been given as pig scraps. It was terrible. The only good thing I can say is that the workers were super friendly. I didn't have the heart to demand my money back. However, I am never going back!!!

I am Fan of Stir Fry Food. 1 Fresh Stir fry tastes good and you will get good portion of food. It's my third time here and No complaints at all. Ladies at the counter are really nice. And Don't try Pineapple that will take off the taste. I always have spicy Habanero sauce with chicken and Egg. It's always tastes really good and Hot as I wish :)

I believe this establishment is under new management. The employees were pleasant and the place seemed clean, but the attempt at new "decor" seemed cheesy (they printed out pictures of the dishes and of other 1 Fresh locations and posted them in the booths.) As for the food, it seemed that the rice and chicken were cooked okay, but the toppings were either over-cooked or under-cooked (raw/crispy broccoli, mushy peanuts and cashews), and I ordered THE SPICY ONE as my sauce...but they put such little sauce on there, it's almost like they forgot to add it (and with The Spicy One, you know when it's there!). And as I've only made it a 1/4 of the way through my meal, my stomach is already feeling like it's folding in half due to the lack of blending of the flavors (like is expected in stir fry).

Alas, 1 Fresh, I have betrayed you.... Just tried out the chain competition to 1 Fresh and wrote a review and realized I'd never reviewed "the original". To be sure, I'll be going to 1 Fresh from now on. Throw away your notions of wilted stir-fry from a buffet. 1 Fresh will stimulate your taste buds like no stir-fry you have ever had. My better half insists they put crack in the stuff! They offer a little something for everyone and it all comes out fast! I would caution against the sushi, but there's plenty else to choose from. Looking forward to trying their new fish tacos!
