Im always here ordering love the food first I wanted the Leguine Netuno with regular spaghetti and got home and got leguine pasta anyways. I tried eating it and couldn't so that was a waste. I went here recently July 18, 2015 and it was about to rain but I made it in.. I called and placed my order in advance. I got there and it was ready, I don't normally check my bag and then I went back to work .. I sat down open up my meal and it wasn't what I ordered. Now I have just 1 hour for lunch so I had to put everything back in the bag left my job and it was raining Hard! I tired calling to tell them to make my correct order, the bartendar place me on hold and never came back on the line..I thought maybe the got busy. Because when I went in it wasn't busy. So the rain stop a little and went in , the woman bartender, she must be New.. never seen her before..She was just laughing her head off with no worries . I told her you gave me the wrong order. She says " this is the Spagatti Bolognese". I said no its not theres Olives and peas in this I order this a lot. The manager came out kept his distance and tried to apologize. They should of just gave me the meal for free . When I got back to work I only had 5 minutes to eat.

Though the place looks impressive it's not and though the wait staff dresses are professionals they're not. It's an OK place for Italian when shopping Sawgrass Mills but nothing more. I started with the crab soup which was basically a thin creamy tomato with a taste of crab but I'll be darned if I could find any. I then went for their veal scaloppini which they refer to as veal scaloppini "lemon" though I generally know it and most frequently see it on most menus simply as veal francaise. The portion was large, certainly tasty enough but not oddly enough not served with any lemon, a somewhat soggy breading and lacking in any fresh or zesty lemon flavor. Though the wait staff is professionally dressed, they all struck me as anything but, being somewhat awkward, bumbling and seemingly without any direction as to exactly what they were doing. The ambiance and atmosphere of place is nice, definitely upper scale with fresh white table cloths and clean appearance

I would normally shy away from a place with a three star rating on Yelp. However the place was chosen by the rest of the party while I parked. It was Saturday evening and we waited for for about 10-15 minutes in the foyer while our table was set. The place was bustling with a good sized crowd, a predominantly male staff dressed in white shirts and ties hurried across the floor delivering plates to and fro, busing and cleaning tables. Upon walking through the restaurant's glass doors we were greeting in Italian by a gray haired, green eyed man in a gray suit, whom I presumed to be the manager...."nice touch" I thought. We were seated by several of the staff, a bit overwhelming I might say. Our waiter stuck around after "the seating" and stated they had run out of menus, but he would do his best to find some, and proceeded to take our drink orders. Precociously disillusioned by Yelp's three stars, and now with the lack of menus I ordered a mojito, and prepared for the worst. The rest of the party ordered wine, juices and sparkling water. a short while later the bread arrived, warm and toasty. We were all famished and scarfed up the baked dough in a flash....then the olive oil and balsamic arrived, a tad bit late. Then came the wine and the juices, and I had to remind the waiter about the mojito, which in all fairness prompted a quick delivery. We had carpaccio and calamari for starters. The former was fair, small portion, fresh arugula and shaved Parmesan. The calamari were cooked to perfection, not rubbery and the breading light and crisp. Suddenly a "foccacia" arrived at the table, basically a sauce-less pizza with fresh diced tomatoes and basil in the center. All of us thought, "wait, we didn't order this". Our waiter explained this was "on the house", part of the "bread service". That stuff was delish and vanished in seconds. The main entrees came out shortly thereafter, along with a second "foccacia"....."what the foccacia!!" said I. They are really pushing this stuff, and needless to say, too much, and had to be left, as much as I hate waste, but really, WTF (What the Foccacia)!! I had one of the daily specials, The Baccala Longinese. a filet of cod, wrapped in a thin potato layer topped with crushed large green and black olives, onions and tomatoes, with thinly sliced potatoes and broccoli cooked just right, on the side. This dish was phenomenal and in large part responsible for the 4 stars on my rating. Other plates ordered at the table: The Amalfi salad, four cheese gnocchi, chicken milanese, and four cheese pizza; all very good as per their respective consumers. We were offered cheese for our plates, which was brought out by our waiter in a rather large bowl. He sprinkled some on one plate, and left the large bowl full of cheese on the center of the table to be sampled repeatedly by the small fingers of some of the younger members of our group. Of course we realized this after the damage had been done, and hoped all that cheese would not land on someone else's table. Looking on the bright side, if it did, at least it wouldn't go to waste......what the focaccia!! All in all the wait staff was a little on the rough side, however attentive and swift, the food was a bit overpriced but good, and the ambiance was very nice. I should've brought all that leftover focaccia home.......

Great, fresh Italian food! Not your typical heavy, saucy food. I got the grouper gratinee, which was fantastic. Hubby got linguini with clams. Side note - they did a kids' chicken fingers for my son which was really just a ultra-thin piece of breaded chicken cut up. It, too, was great

I love how there's an option to have vegetables and potatoes with your entree instead of just pasta. The portions were HUGE. The chicken picatta great!!! Mmmm. If It weren't so expensive id go all the time.

I found Villagio to be quite irksome. I can't exactly put my finger on what it was that I found so perturbing, but there was something that just bugged me and I found myself getting progressively annoyed as the meal transpired. Kind of like that coworker that everyone likes but you unexplainably can't stand, and the more you have to see this person, the stronger you wish a degenerative illness upon them... but, if someone asked you why you don't like this particular coworker, you wouldn't truly be able to specify a good reason. That's where I am at with Villagio. I think, if I had to try and pin point a reason as to why I was irked, it would be the dissonance I felt here. In one sense, they are vey generous with the complimentary starters: a basket of bread and crackers with olive oil and balsamic, as well as bruschetta and focaccia. On the other hand, the fees they were asking for substitutions was just ridiculous. The entrees are served with veggies (broccoli, green beans and potatoes), my sister who ordered the chicken parm, asked if she could have spaghetti instead of the side of vegetables. To make this substitution, they said it was going to be an additional 3 bucks. BUT, you can get penne pasta as a sub free of charge...? I don't know if they maybe make their own spaghetti and use box stuff for the penne or what, but the idea that they charge $3 extra for one and zero for essentially the exact same thing is strange. And the last time I checked, veggies were more expensive than flower and water, but hey, what do I know. In addition to that, my sister asked for a different sauce on her penne, and they wanted to charge her for that; by bro in law asked for a dollop of ricotta on his parm, they wanted to charge him for that. I get that adding, substituting and whatnot might cost [a minuscule amount] more, and I'm sure it adds up, but I just think there is something to be said about goodwill and not charging a patron a stupid 50 cents for this or that, especially when you are paying over $20 a plate. I guess I don't really have any other complaints. The atmosphere is actually pretty swanky, but you are at the sawgrass mall and in my opinion, that takes the sophistication down substantially. It's just that for the price, I'd rather go somewhere where I can make a night of it and I don't feel like you can do that here. The food was pretty good, Italian is usually safe and equally parts hard to mess up and hard to differentiate, but tasty nonetheless, and portions are humongo. The wait staff was mildly pretentious and that was annoying, but whatever.

My sister in law made a reservation for 4 @ 6:30 pm. Because whom ever answered the phone barely spoke English the name was all wrong, that should have been the least of it. Waitress was brand new, again limited English, we tried to order drinks she could not understand vodka on the rocks, she had to fetch an interpreter. We placed our orders, dinners came out wrong and cold. They even had trouble getting us water. One of the worst dining experiences ever. Place was very noisy, parking absolutely impossible.i don't think we will be returning.

Anytime a restaurant over salts their food it leads me to believe there is something wrong with the food to begin with. It is hard to mess up chicken Parmesan yet Villagio did just that. Not only was the food highly salted but the chicken tasted stringy not like real chicken. I would have sent the food back however I was in a hurry as I needed to be someplace else after eating and did not have the time to wait for another meal to come out. The waitress that we had was the best thing about the restaurant. My wife's grouper had a strange spice on it that made it taste weird as well. It's been about three years since we ate at this restaurant and will probably be at least that long if we ever go back at all. If I could give the restaurant less than one star I would.

I like many different type of cuisines. Since having been to Italy, italian food holds a dear place in my heart or should I say my stomach. Villagio locations are all over Florida, but this one is the newest one and my favorite. It is located in the newly renovated side of the Sawgrass Colonade where you can go shopping before eating at this contemporary restaurant with a sleek bar area or tables outside to enjoy the FL sun. The locations in Boca and Coral Gables were established earlier. There are two more locations opening this coming year in New York and Chicago Back to the review, I truly enjoy Villagio's extensive menu. It consists of soups, salads, appetizers, pizzas, pastas, seafood and delicious desserts of course. Last time I went to villagio, with a dear friend of mine who wakes up super early, we got to the restaurant on the dot at 11 a.m. The restaurant morning meeting was just ending but I felt like we were getting the best v.i.p. treatment with a purse stand for our purses or jackets, fresh flowers on the table, and three servers quickly getting our breads, drinks and order. The bread with chopped tomato basil garlic sauce is so delizioso. So, like always I wanted to order off the specials. Their lobster ravioli special is amazing. My friend truly enjoyed it as well. She ordered the crab bisque to start off the meal and I ordered the zucchini soup (vegetarian) with thin pasta in it. That soup tastes incredible with cheese and black pepper on it. To end our early lunch we devoured the Chocolate Soufflé. Or try the tiramisu, you can't go wrong with either desserts. Buon appetito!

Food was only ok. Food in picture was apparently no longer available - which was the reason for the dining selection. Bartender was a complete a$$hole and ruined the overall experience. Not personable / nonhelpful on menu and then continued to interrupt a phone call to take an order that he was otherwise useless in assisting with prior to the call. Too bad - really nice place.

Sister restaurant of Bella Luna in Aventura & Carpaccio of Bal Harbor which I had not had the pleasure of visiting since it opened. Angelo the Bella Luna Manager now runs this place while Paul the ex bartender seems to be his assistant. In Saw grass for a quick bite and finally had an opportunity to check the place out. After saying hello to old friends we are seated rather quickly for a Saturday night just getting out of season. Decor is very modern with truly nice wine room and, bar and tables all with a nuvoeu look. Bottom line I'm a fan of modern so this place works for me. Hot fresh bread was presented though no dipping oil and or butter until asked. Also complimentary type pita bread with fresh Bruchetta was provided. The menu was pretty similar to their other locations though some minor changes. Wine by the bottle was reasonably priced. Keeping it simple a Chicken Parmigiana, and a pounded veal chop (Lombata) paramagina was also ordered both substituting potatoes & Vegetables for pasta with their famous pink sauce. All I can say is both were absolutely outstanding. Marinara sauce was sweet with excellent Mozzerella. Pasta was not el dente but sauce was quite tasty. After dinner complimentary Tiramisu was provided by Angelo which was light tasty and probably more calories than both dinners combined but man was it good. Downside waiter was in the weeds most of the evening, and it took some time to actually get the check. Water was not refilled regularly and bathroom had overflowing basket of paper towels. For a quick Sawgrass type meal I don't think there is much better available as price points were reasonable and food top shelf quality. Service was not terrible but not 5 Stars either... Will give it 4 stars based on our recent experience.

Tonight I had dinner with four flies around my table including one that we killed between the oil and vinegar. I'm not quite sure why a restaurant of this caliber has an issue with bugs. Let's try and keep it classy or I won't be coming back.

This place is predictably good. Wife and daughter shared a yummy pear salad followed by a veggie pizza, while I started with the antipasto, followed by a chicken piccata. Antipasto was OK, not the best. Personally, I think the best part of the meal is the flat bread they bring with the sauce-really good. Great iced tea, fresh brewed. Total bill was $70. We'll be back, it's a monthly kind of place.

This is an okay Italian place, good choice of wines thought not an extensive choice. The food is good and usually is flavorful your typical Italian menu. The chocolate cake here however was divine. I am not even a chocolate person but I finished that plate. The staff here is friendly the servers were nice. You have both outdoor and indoor seating and surrounded by good outlet stores, well just in case you want to burn the calories off after eating.

I have to give this restaurant so well managed by Angelo Papille and George Bonilla a high Five , I left my shopping bag in one of the chairs outside by mistake and they did not know who belongs to the manager George Bonilla save it I call the next day and the Bartender Gylmar told me my shopping bag was there :-) they had no idea who left it .... I want to tell them THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! I love eating there the service has to be the fastest ever and the food always fresh.

Went there on a Friday night date. I ordered the chicken picata, and she ordered the lasagna. The chicken picata comes with potatoes instead of pasta. The sauce was very bland. Had no ttaste to it. When the lasagna came, it was as bland looking as it comes. There was no red sauce to speak of. For the most part, it was white with some brown meat. We had to order a side dish of mred sauce. There was absolutely no taste to it whatsoever. An Italian restaurant that can not get lasagna right has no business calling itself an Italian restaurant. As for the restaurant itself, it is obvious that management does not pay attention to the little things. Broken electric receptacles in the eating area, the men's rooms trash can was overflowing with paper towels. There was just something about this place that did not evoke excitement to where I would want to come back again. Save your money. There are much better places to dine.

Please understand this review is only for our server. The food is still amazing but unfortunately service was not this time. Came in close to 10pm, place was busy. We were basically rushed to our table still being cleaned. Our server was loud and in a hurry, bossing around the other girl, serving with her, without caring that we all could hear her. Very uncomfortable. When ordering, my friend asked if she could add chicken to her pasta. Her facial expression was puzzled and annoyed. Told her to forget it, and bring the plate as it usually comes out. To this she replied I'll ask... This should have been her first response/ reaction. When served we notice they did add the chicken. Server comes and asks "How is your creation? Aren't you glad you didn't settle?". Very annoying. When done we asked for the dessert menu. Asked how big of a portion one of them was, she wasn't very helpful there. Just asked if we were sharing, I said no. I was planning on ordering a different dessert but she just took the menu and left with just one dessert order. Brought it to our table with two spoons. Asked for the check, that took a while too, mainly because she kept talking to the guy seated next to us, and joking around with others on the staff. She even forgot to give me my leftovers. I know by this time is almost closing time but the restaurant was still half full and we are all still paying for the service you didn't give us. Again, food is amazing and, because of this, I will be back but really hope she isn't my server again.

This is not a restaurant that you "make a reservation" at, or make it a point to just specifically visit this restaurant. This restaurant is in the Sawgrass Mills mall and what can you expect from a restaurant in this shopping plaza? If I was rating this next to Zuma or Prime 112 of course this would get 2 stars but with the prices that Villagio has and the quality of the food, this is for sure a four star establishment no matter what any other Yelper says, sorry! So we walked in at lunch time in between shopping at SGM. There was no wait and immediately we were seated. It was a small table in the corner but, no problem. We ordered the mista salad and chicken marsala to split. Villagio has huge portions so don't be surprised when your order looks like it could feed an entire family. Actually, I had somehow assumed that the chicken marsala came with pasta but it didn't. The waiter was always checking in with us and when we told him about this, he went and got us some penne in marsala sauce. The entire bill was $22. Can't beat that! The service wasn't 5 stars, obviously but again, this is just a place that you should go to in between shopping or if you are in the area and stop by. The parking is hectic so I don't see why people would want to come here specifically to eat here. *The food was pretty good *The service wasn't absolutely amazing but it was pretty good! We always dine here when we are at SGM and we will definitely in the future.

One of the better Italian restaurants that I ate at in Florida. I had the eggplant parmigiana which was excellent and a small greet salad. We ate out on the patty. There lunch menu is big and the prices are very fair. You are met at the door with a smile and the service is both fast and friendly, by all means it is a nice place to have a lunch. I guess that some people gave different ratings , I guess it is all about what you eat, generally being Italian I don't eat out in Italian restaurants much because I can make it at home. But one has to remember that this is not Philadelphia or New York City where most restaurants a better than Rome. Everyone has his or her own opinion's.

I love the food here. And I really love the ambiance. I sat at the bar to eat my first time with a guest. That bread and those fresh tomatoes are to die for. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and I didn't feel like she was faking it. I ordered the calamari which was ok...I've had better. But my guest ordered a Tilapia dish with shrimp and the tilapia melted in your mouth. The bar staff was very attentive but not annoyingly so. The view of their wine bar was pretty. It's a very posh restaurant but not too pretentious. I'd come here and hang out at the bar again but I'd also have a family dinner here too.

ok this update is dated ... I should have done it a long time ago. Since then I've been here about 4-5 times - good food all the time. The service can be spotty - either good or not-so-good, but the food more than makes up for it. For me anyway. However, the one experience I really want to comment on is the time I went with my mom. She's generally picky about restaurants and doesn't particularly like eating out, but she loved this place. From the bread to the meatballs - to telling me I should come here for lunch (by myself if MH didn't want to come) at least once a week. Very surprising. Definitely a testament to the quality.

Just opened in the beautiful Colonnade area at Sawgrass Mills ten days ago. It's the fourth Villagio for Tommy Billante, who also has branches in Boca Raton, Coral Gables and Dadeland. Other Billante restaurants include Calamari in Coconut Grove and Carpaccio in Bal Harbour. Very modern design with bright orange lights, the bar located in the middle of the dining area with a gorgeous orange glass top matching several very large tables throughout the dining area. Very pretty and inviting. Fresh white crisp tablecloths and napkins. Like their other restaurants they immediately bring you out foccacia with fresh bruschetta that is very good. Three of us decided on lunch here today. We did not order any cocktails but their wines by the glass were $7-$9 a glass with about seven varietals to choose from. We ordered: BBQ Chicken pizza, Ravioli in a vodka sauce and my usual Pennette Harry's Pasta. They were all under $10.95 per entree. Our food arrived quickly, steaming hot. Our water continued to get filled and service was just O.K. They seemed to have been working out a few issues with their staff. Once our food arrived, the disappearing waiter thing happened. He vanished and we sat waiting for our dirty plates to be removed for ten minutes or so. My dish consisted of Penne, dried tomatoes, pine nuts and spinach in an olive oil sauce with a hint of tomatoes and fresh Parmessan Cheese. This dish is light and flavorful, always consistently good. I have always been a huge fan of all of their restaurants. Hopefully they will work out any service issues very soon. I will return and they will do great in this area as their food is reasonably priced, good quality dishes with a good selection to choose from. Both of my friends really enjoyed their dishes as well. The pizza was bigger than your head, very large. To add to this location, it is designed beautifully with such a modern pizzaz!! If they offer any kind of Happy Hour deals, it would be a very cool place to hang out.

What can you say about Villagio, Carpaccio, Calamari, ETC., except they keep getting bigger. The menus are all the same, except for the cover. The food is all the same, except for? Everything is serviceable. Nothing horrible, nothing great.

Could not get past the point that all three stalls in the bathroom were in deplorable condition 45 minutes after the restaurant just opened, and the hostess looks up and down at guests like a full length mirror. How about looking at things that need attention to? Food tasted microwaved!

The food and atmosphere are great. We often enjoy the pizzas and pasta here. The only part that is sad about this place is the consistently bad service.

Horrible! We went on a Friday night. I had made reservations for 7:30pm Get there and wait in the atrium and proceeded to melt because it was so damn HOT! To make it worse there were at the very least 27 people jammed in there with me and the doors were being kept open (which did not help the air circulation problem!) We kept checking in and kept being told "5 more minutes". There were 2 men in suits who seemed frazzled to be there and be in charge. Both with their hair slicked back and one that seemed fresh faced out of college (if that). Both in charge but only in title. Everyone in here seemed to be on fast forward. By the end of the night it was just comical. I don't know if they were short staffed but the waiters were all walking back and forth and back again, squeezing through tables, busing here and there and everywhere. We would ask one waiter for a fork and we would see him loop all over the place only to remind him later what it was we wanted. Also had to wait each time for parmesan cheese, a high chair, and an additional napkin! We were seated by double doors that faced the outside. IT was nice until we realized that our table was right, and I mean literally right by a waiter's station. I got bumped by the "energizer bunny waiters" and "men not in charge" more than I can remember. At one point they came and added yet another table next to us but in front of their station. How was that going to work? They also bumped by son's high chair while doing so. Good thing he wasn't in it at the time...wow. Now on to the food which is why we were there right? Cold bread, average. Ceasar salad, average- they forgot the dressing on my husband's ceasar too. I had oversized ravioli which were stuffed with ricotta and spinach. My husband had a risotto. Both were good but not good enough to go back ever again to this place. We even opted out of dessert and coffee which is huge for us. We have a major sweet tooth. We could not run out of there fast enough. The decor is nice and modern. The center table which at first glance seemed fabulous for a dinner party is very deceptive. When you really look at it you notice that the 2 bases are quite large. The overhang on either side of the table is not wide enough to compensate so that when you sit your knees don't hit the base. There was a party that was being seated when we were there but I was able to take a photo of it which I will add. I would say don't bother. Stick to the Grand Luxe or PF Changs which are right next to this place.

Awesome food. Ate special of the day, which was lobster pasta. Holly cow the dish was huge. Service was okay, the manager was awesome but waiters were totally out there from mars. 1/2 of them didn't know the drinks we ordered and not like we asked for something odd, gin & tonic somehow end up as vodka soda. Say What? Also the waiter missed some items we ordered as well, our clients from overseas weren't too happy (maybe that's how they want us to keep ordering drinks?)

Maybe it was meant to be since this restaurant has a huge frosted "V" in the window, but we stumbled upon this restaurant because the wait for Grand Lux Cafe was 1.5 hours, which was absurd. So, we walked across the plaza and walked into Villagio where the wait was only 2 minutes. Score. I was with my mom to who is almost impossible to please when it comes to dining out. And since I had no clue what to expect, it almost made this experience feel like a game of Culinary Russian Roulette. But I can happily say a bullet was averted and she loved this place. First off, the service was great. We had two different waiters making sure we had everything we needed. Plus, they gave us not one but two different types of complimentary breads. One with balsamic tomatoes and a more traditional French bread with butter. Win-win. For dinner my mom ordered the veal with mushrooms and I had the smoked salmon with goat cheese pizza. Both dishes were really delicious and for the prices, the portions were reasonable. Seriously, my pizza was huge. We contemplated dessert and the waiter quickly recommended their baked apple dessert; a puff pastry crust with a perfectly sweet apple center and a side of vanilla ice cream. Deeeeeelicious. Between the two of us we easily devoured the entire thing. If I were in the area I would definitely come back here without hesitation. But I'd probably ask for a table on the patio because the inside booths can be a bit cramped.

Man this restaurant is polarizing on Yelp. But i'm on the 'really liked this place side. I totally get the other yelps regarding the service...it was weird and I'll comment on that in a sec, but overall my wife and I had a great night out after some good shopping at Sawgrass. Came in a bit early than our reservation and got a nice table outside on the side under the cover...really nice area to sit in. Seated by the hostess, candle on table not lit. 1st Server came by, candle on table not lit. Another server came by, guess what, candle still not lit. I had to ask to get the candle lit. That's just odd. The free brushetta on flat bread was awesome as was the crusty plain bread (no garlic rolls here). The first server came back and while he was nice, there was no 'welcome to Villagio' happening. Just 'do you know what u want?'. We ordered wine and a mozzarella / tomatoes / arugula / mushroom salad for 8.95...kitchen split for my wife and I and it was plenty big. We noticed the table behind us had a lobster dish and it looked great, but couldn't find it on menu. So after our salad we went to order our meal, we HAD TO ASK what the specials were..that's just odd....and this is where we learned about an amazing whole lobster dish with spicy linguini in red sauce with clams and mussels...$28.95...kitchen split again and more than enough for 2..we even took some home. I have to say it was one of the best Italian dishes i have had in a long, long time. We decided to go all in and order the ricotta cheesecake...very good but nothing outrageous. So two glasses of wine, the free brushetta, the salad, the lobster dish, and a bottle of sparkling water in a very nice setting for a total of $80 was really not that bad. Only think i was shocked at was the $6 bottle of sparking water..that seemed a bit high. So, I look forward to eating here again..it's delicious. I do wish they would talk to their waiters and work on these kinks and improve the friendliness, than it really would be top notch.

I ate at this restaurant about 2 months ago and have been meaning to write a review for some time now, but I needed to carefully consider how I was going to criticize it in a graceful, eloquent way, haha! The decor of this place is very nice. It has a modern feel with dim lighting and gives off a "high class" vibe even though it is affordable. My friend and I decided to sit outside on the terrace, which was also very nice. We were surrounded by couples who spoke in foreign languages, which made us feel like we were outside of the states, very appealing to me. This is where my positive comments stop. The server first brought out two types of bread, which were both very dry and seemed to be reheated rather than fresh. We then ordered the stuffed artichoke, which may have been one of the worst antipastis I've ever had. It was overcooked and there was barely any meat on the leaves, a disappointment for $8. I then ordered the tortellini aurora, which was also very unimpressive. It was a small portion and had no flavor, extremely bland for $13. At the end of the night I was left disappointed and hungry and most likely will not return. This place was all show and no substance.

This place is a great choice if you're looking for good quality Italian food... The place is really nice and the ambience is pretty neat and attractive.. The servers are kind and attentive, although one of them got a little pushy when we were waiting for our friends to show up.. I love that they serve a variety of breads as appetizers, which are included with the meal.. great start! My food was delicious but the portions were huge! (I shared mine with a friend and was super full afterwards)... Prices are decent and they have a full bar! Good experience!

Went on a Tuesday around 7pm with a huge party and we were wonderfully accommodated. The waiter recommended the lamb shank for me - slow cooked in red wine and served with vegetables. I was so thankful for that recommendation as I loved it! I also had a few of their appetizers including the calamari, mozzarella caprese, and the antipasto Italiano and something else that I can't recall the name of but it was a dip made with tomatoes and served with roasted pita bread. I enjoyed them all. Appetizer: antipasto italiano = A Appetizer: calamari = B Appetizer: mozzarella caprese = C Dinner Entree: lamb shank = A+ Dessert: Chocolate Soufflé = A

My mom wanted to try this place out for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, I checked Yelp for reviews and to be honest wasn't really excited to eat here. Upon pulling up to the Valet which is complimentary to diners up to 3 hrs we read the menu at the door and walked in. The place is beautiful inside and very spacious. We went in roughly at 1:00pm (Saturday) there was absolutely no wait time, we sat down and were handed the menus (for a place this nice the menus should be newer than the crusty bent laminated ones they currently use) Prices range upwards of $10 per plate depending on what you order. The lunch menu has a variety of assortments to choose from but still pricey. The staff is really friendly and fast, moments after being seated we were brought a stand to rest our purses on, waters and complimentary bread with a balsamic tomato topper. We ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Peas & Smoked Salmon as well as the Henry's (Something something/ Penne pasta with Sun dried tomatoes, pine nuts, spinach in a red sauce) The food came out pipping hot from the kitchen in about 10 mins. It was delicious! I'm not big on pastas but I can say both plates tasted glorious (presentation isn't all there, maybe a couple garnishes and I would've photographed it for your viewing pleasure) For dessert we ordered the Pannacotta with a couple cappuccinos. The dessert was 110% amaze balls, perfectly plated (including decoration) and creamy! The cappuccinos were plated with a small biscotti cookie which was perfect! Pros: The food is delicious and the staff is wonderful! Valet is complimentary. Cons: Previous Yelp reviews complained about reservations & flies (didn't encounter this issue) The only things I would say is they gotta change their menus (nicer ones) & clean their AC vents that appear to have rust dripping down the wall (all cosmetic)

This is a tourist trap. There's absolutely nothing unique about this restaurant other than the pricing and atmosphere. You're going to pay a lot for flavors that are the epitome of average. I would be very, very surprised if their pasta sauces, chicken, or veal were made to order with fresh ingredients. Their food tastes no different than an average chain restaurant's food, and the sauces taste like they slid out of a can.

  • Debbie A.

After a day of shopping it's quick and convenient. I've never had to wait for a table, and the service is great. The food is average. I'm use to real authentic Italian, so this doesn't compare, but it's fair value for the price.

I could write an essay on how bad this restaurant was. Service was terrible. Flies everywhere. The waitress ignored us, we had to keep asking for things we ordered. One of the worst restaurants I've been to,

  • Jacques R.

Their sister company in Aventura has better cousine! I think the chef should go to the drawing board and put some flavor and balance to the food! The pasta in general was incipd, the pizza missed crunch, and texture... As for the tomato salad, I think it was made the day before... Service was very good, the place is clean, well located and large enough... Restroom is also clean and nice. All in all, this is maybe of the best spots to eat in Sawgrass. (Better than the food court!!)... Enjoy

I stopped at this restaurant because I have been to the one in Merrick Park and dadeland. They have always been a safe place to have a decent meal while at the mall. However, this one at Sawgrass is horrible. I ordered a salad that came literally with one grape tomato, a few pieces of goat cheese that I could barley find, and three walnuts that tasted stale and old. My mom ordered a ceaser salad with chicken that tastes wierd, she got sick afterwards with a bad stomach ache. My dad and sister ordered pasta and said it was tasteless. Not only was the food here horrible but they never brought the iced te I ordered and when I told the waitress that there was no cheese on the salad she looked annoyed. She had a bad face and bad disposition, and looked as if she was dreading being there. BAD SERVICE AND BAD FOOD.

Love coming here for a nice meal. Food and service is always at its best and if its not they will do whatever they need to make it right. I last ordered their Scallopini Portobello. WOW!!! never had veal before. It is a Grilled Veal scallopini sauteed with a touch of marsala wine, topped with slice portobello mushrooms on a plate of potatoes. YUM YUM. The service like i stated was on point, my wifes steak came in a bit undercooked to her tasting and they quickly took it and got it just right for her without any complains. I am more than happy to return to Villagio and bring family and friends to try something new.

5 stars for happy hour! Do not be fooled by the location of this restaurant. It is an excellent, chic, wonderful restaurant, BUT the happy hour is the best. Go and sit at the bar, sip delicious cocktails, devour the entire appetizer menu, watch beautiful people, be served like a king, and pay very little. I don't think I need to say more ;)

I went here with a party of 20 and they accommodated us very well! Everyone was happy with the service & the food. The tomato "sauce" that they serve with the bread is amazing. They also serve some crackers but you should know they are spicy. I had the lasagna which was good but one of my friends had the veal pasta and it was to die for! Hope you enjoy :)

I'm always surprised here that on a Friday or Saturday night there is not a wait for a table. In comparison to the surrounding restaurants that usually have a 20 to 40 minute wait. You would think that this would be a bad sign, however I always enjoy my dining experience at this restaurant. We ordered two dirty martinis with blue cheese olives, and the meatball appetizer. The meatball, was surprisingly good, with some ricotta cheese. We decided to split the manicotti as our main course. It was different than I'm used to-more like a pasta crêpe filled with ricotta cheese topped with tomato sauce. It was really quite delicious. We also ordered a margarita pizza with artichoke hearts. This also was very delicious. What I like about this place is the decorations, the light fixtures are really beautiful, the bar area is really nice, and I like the color scheme. We got a great table against the wall, and there were not people on top of us at tables next to us, so we were able to have a very relaxing and enjoyable dinner. The service was also great, we had a waiter in addition other servers that brought our food out and a busboy that brought us bread, water, and fresh pepper for our meals.

Visited the restaurant during Happy Hour. Many drink 50% off. They serve cold beer in a cold glass. I like it !!!!!! The $3.99 appetizer were great. My wife and I had the mozzarella sticks and the eggplant. Then the bartender brought the free bruscetta. It was very good. To finish this experience my wife ordered the Creme Brulee. It was very good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great food, and very reasonably priced for the quality and amount of food they offer. This is my second time eating here I am so sick of the cain restaurants in Sawgrass Mall. This place is consistent with their service, and food. They have amazing breads that they bring to you when you sit down. Their salads are very fresh, and their soups are homemade. It is the same menu for lunch and dinner so you know the prices are very good !

  • Suzanne Y.

the restaurant looks trendy. the food is just meh. pros: try the lobster and seafood pasta (i forgot the name), it is only 29 bucks and you get the whole lobster plus other random seafood. also save room for the tiramisu it is pretty good cons: service is just ok. i guess i was expecting a little more with the over-the-top interior decor. there really isn't anything special with their menu.

Did not enjoy it at all. Service was awful. Food was not creative nor tasty. It's like a manufactured Italian restaurant tourist trap. They also pack you in like sardines. Our server was horrendous!! and the only nice person was the water person. We walked out.

  • Paul P.

I am thinking that some of the negative experiences could have occurred because of being a newly opened restaurant. My friend and I had an amazing lunch at Villagio. Our service was great and the food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The price points for lunch are very good. Our lunch was approximately $20.00. My friend had a prosciutto sandwich with real Italian mozzarella cheese. This was a true Italian/European sandwich. It concentrated on the quality of ingredients and flavor not the quantity. I had a perfectly made pasta dish that contained a light tomato cream sauce, fresh salmon, fresh peas and al dente pasta. One of the best meals we had in a very long time. It's hard to find true Italian food of this quality and price point.

I made a reservation for last Friday, it was my sisters birthday. We did not have to wait which sometimes happens even with a res. The food was great except for one dish was way to salty. But the waiter was very nice about it and replaced the dish right away. All of the staff was very attentive and fast. The only complaint I have about this place is it was too loud. Maybe some private rooms for the 2 extremely large parties would have helped with this. The floor was extremely slippery. I almost fell twice. Not good for women with heels.

    (3)
  • Matt M.

Food mediocre, service pathetic. My water was empty most of the meal. Did not refill my soda once. Most of the time the wait staff totally ignored us. Don't bother eating here

    (1)
  • Albert M.

Wow. That was BY FAR THE WORST service and experience I have ever had in a restaurant. Really. I can't believe how bad it was. We were ignored to the point I had to get out own menus. The waiter (is busboy-I don't know we ever really got an actual waiter) concluded the meal by throwing away my wife's salad, which he'd just offered to box up. We left saying that we were happy it was so bad we could laugh at it. If it would have been less bad, we would have been really annoyed. Instead, we left with a story of the only time I've ever not left a tip in a restaurant. It was remarkable in it's badness.

First off, we had been here before so I can relate with the "wait service-issue" so I was a bit hesitant to say the least, to come back. Went there today for a friend's birthday dinner & I must say that it has improved a lot. Our waiter was Luis, he was very attentive & checked on us the whole time. Jordan was great, too. He made sure we had our drinks refilled. And today being a weekday, the restaurant was almost full & a lot of the tables had large groups celebrating birthdays and we did not have to look for our waiter. Good food & good service. Def coming back = )

Food was barely adequaqte and not well seasoned. Service was very slow, server bordered on being rude, and neither maite d' nor waiter came by to check on us. Poor value for the dollar and overpriced for the quality.

It's a good thing that I didn't check Yelp before deciding to dine here the first time, because the three stars would have dissuaded me. Since my first visit, I have returned many times and have have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Every item that I've sampled, has been superb, yes, superb. I don't say that lightly. For starters, upon being seated, aside from being served the typical bread basket, Villagio also presents you with bruschetta ...for free and it is phenomenal. Now for a quick review of what I've ordered: The porcini risotto was very flavorful, perfectly al dente. The chicken milanese is thinly pounded, lightly breaded, and perfectly crispy and is served with a flavorful and light salad on the top. I've also had the porcini ravioli, again, prepared and seasoned perfectly. The service, while not entirely consistent, is more than I would expect for a restaurant at this price range. Which brings me to the cherry on the top, the prices are completely affordable. It's great food and a great deal!

It took me a minute to try this newer addition to the Sawgrass Mall and now that I have, I will undoubtedly become a regular. The outside is white, welcoming and minimally stated. We were taken to our table by the window by a nice looking italian man. Hey, image is everything for first impressions! Our waitress was charming and thorough. The food was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly only because of its location sandwiched between Grand Lux and PF Changs. Don't get me wrong, both of those restaurant's serve good food but I had expectations of this Italian restaurant being of a similar standard. I was pleasantly proved wrong. Every table receives a variety of bread including focaccia with a tomato basil dipping. We started with the stuffed artichoke. As shocked as I was at the time and continue to be while typing this, we ate the entire artichoke. It would have been rude to leave a single bite as it was perfect in every single way. The next dish was spaghetti and meatballs. When I order this dish, my expectations are usually low but I am just in the mood for the home style favorite. I am happy to report that their spaghetti and meatballs is exactly what the dish should taste like. Light on the tomatoes but still chunky. The meatballs are the right size and so moist! I just kept eating beyond the stuffed point because it was delicious. What an awesome surprise this turned out to be!!! I look forward to walking over there on a Friday night for dinner soon. I can't believe we have this as an option so close to home. wooo weeeee.

I had a great time overall. Service was good. Breads were hot and fresh. Both my dinner as well as my friends were excellent. The restaurant has a cool feel to dine in. Prices are reasonable for quality and portion size. Its a shame to read some of the negative reviews.

Had dinner there twice a month. Went in on Feb. 24, 2012 the hostess greeted us we requested out door seating she told us we would have next table. Two tables became available. The man who always wears the suit ( always has an atttiude towards his staff) sat larger parties who came in after us. The young girl who originally greeted us appoligized. We had dinner @ another restaurant will not go back. Shame to lose regulars who would go twice a month all year long even in the slow summer months.

I wish I could review the food, but the service was so bad we walked out. Went to have drinks and appetizers at the bar. Since it was our first time we asked the bartender what the happy hour was. He said he was new and did not know. WHAT!!!! A customer filled us in as to what was what. Ordered 2 wines and 2 appetizers. After sitting there for 30 minutes and everyone around us was getting there food and we were not, we inquired. Oops! Dumb ass bartender forgot to put the order in the computer. Oh,oh, and one of the items we ordered they did not have. Guess what?Bye bye Villagio. What a screwed up place. He never said hello at the beginning and never said sorry at the end. I could not find a website to write and complain. Don't waste your time.

  • Marc S.

Where do I start? First, I never knew this place existed until my aunt invited me and my family here for dinner. The place was very nice, but seemed very small. We got pita appetizers and calamari and it was ehh ok. I wanted to stay away from my normal typical Italian order. So i ended up ordering Ravioli with mushroom in butter sauce. Let me mind you I love it when I get a big plate of pasta, but boy was I disappointed with my dish. It ended up being 5 pieces of pretty much chefboyardee size ravioli smothered in yellow sauce. I felt so made that this dish cost $13 and my sister who got spaghetti and meatballs for $10 had a full plate. I hated the fact when I asked the waiter if it was a big portion he said "Oh it's big enough for two." If your craving Italian food go somewhere else. I'm even saying go to Olive garden. At least you get free salad and bread sticks, not like here where you have to pay for it!

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
