About as average as you can get, not horrible but not great - it's just ok. It is food that has no description. No real flavor or taste. I have no desire to eat here again but would go if others picked it for lunch and I couldn't talk them out of it. There are too many places with better breakfast, lunch and dinner. The place could stand a bit of an update it feels old and dusty in there.

Just another Diner. Came here because it was the only place open at the time. The food was just OK and this coming from a person who just stepped out of a 5 hour flight and was starving. The service was also OK. It was 7am only 2 more clients in the whole place and the server looked like he was ready to go home.

Other than the slowest service ( there were maybe 5 tables full and 4 waitresses) I was served the chicken slovaki and it was chewy almost like it was chewing on a rubber band. My husband had a hambuger and it was bad and I'm still baffled how anyone can make a bad grilled cheese but it was awful. Our waitress didn't even check on us until we waved her down for the bill and that is when I told her about the chicken. They did it off the bill, being that I didn't eat two bites. But I left this place hungry and completely disgusted. We were really hoping this was going to be good...bummer.

Our normal breakfast team were there My wife daughter and granddaughter Daughter had chocolate chip pancakes, my granddaughter has a toasted bagel cream cheese and bacon my wife had her regular two egg American cheesy omelette and I had my breakfast favorite feta cheese and tomato omelette Coffee was hot and they kept the cup full Service is fast and efficient No matter how busy they are the wait is never more than 10-15 minutes Love Lester's.

Food is average but I got ripped off on the bill. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a shake. My bill was over 12.00...........geeze I did not want to buy the cow just a sand and shake.. RIPPED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food here is awful! I live nearby and went for breakfast with my wife. Western omelette tasted as if it was pre-cooked and then microwaved...no flavor at all. I've eaten at diners all over USA and this one is one of the worst.

Good breakfast place at an affordable price. Décor could be updated. I would try the Chocolate Chip Pancakes.

Lester's diner gets a five star review for late night food. We got take out at 10pm because of a late night at the office. My wife got the BBQ Pork sandwich and wow! The barbecue sauce was both sweet and tangy. The pork was moist, not fatty, and cut in small bite sized pieces. I had the gyro and eggs. I substituted the hash browns with cabbage (very good). The gyro meat appeared over cooked but it was still moist and flavorful. The Tzatziki sauce comes in a separate container and it has lots of dill, is thicker than mayonnaise and has a creamy flavor that goes great with the eggs and gyro meat. We will continue to eat here for late night dinners.

Really kind service, food was good - we went at a weird hour at night but still solid

Lesters is nasty the bacon was cold and not crunchy the pancakes taste like butter the tabels are sticky and looks bad on the inside and outside I will never reaturn

The steak and eggs breakfast was good. Super relaxed and friendly. Love the vintage feel of the dinner

Good diner. Food is good. Good, fast service too. Have only had breakfast here so far but it was very good. I tried the corned beef hash and eggs plate. Also pancakes. Very cheap so that's always a plus. Diner feels like an old school long island diner which I liked a lot. Reminded me of being young and going to the diners back home.

Every time I come here I'm never disappointed! My boyfriend loves the pork chops.....delish!!! Me I'm working my way through the whole menu and I have absolutely no complaints. The staff are very friendly and on point. One of my fav spots for sure. Oh did I mention the bread and rice pudding is to DIE for!!!!!

I will keep this simple, but in Florida for a boxing tournament and we were all hungry after weigh ins and even at that point of hunger, the food was not satisfying at all. The 2 stars is for the service since the waitress was nice. The western omelette that I ordered was disappointing and flat and had undercooked onions with barely anything in it. The biscuit and jelly was overcooked and dry with tasteless butter on the side. Unfortunate as my first experience here and in Florida, but maybe that's what breakfast is like here. Will be trying other places for breakfast for sure.

Nothing special about the food. Out of the whole menu, I was only interested in the club sandwiches but then they weren't club sandwiches. Club sandwiches aren't made with crusty buns, they're made with toast. The roast beef was too cold, stone cold actually. Other than that, it was ok. Didn't really taste a special sauce or anything. So for $10 bucks, I would have made them myself at home. Not a place you go to to try new things, only eat regular diner food that isn't too bad. The place has a creepy vibe to it because of the dull colours and old jukeboxes. You can get takeout so don't feel pressured to sit down and get a glass of water. Better to eat at work or home and fix what you ordered if you have the chance. Rating is based on food, look of the place, boring old people crowd, and horrible music (Taylor swift making you nauseous while you eat). I've been to loads of good and cheap restaurants that have amazing food and service (buffet or lines) that I have yet to rate. Peace.

This place was a let down... Biscuits and gravy with dry biscuits and Luke warm gravy, eggs florentine with canned spinach (the egg reminded us of a golf ball- hard), and the steak- ordered rare- was shoe leather and well well well done. We won't be back.

The food isn't worth the trouble of waiting twenty minutes at the weekend. Our last two visits have been underwhelming.

Saturday night we came in to this Greek Diner with not too much expectation and left pleasantly pleases. Our waiter Adonis from Thessaloniki was awesome and the food was all 5 stars. Had the Greek Combo, a great steak, and awesome lamb shank. Desert was the bomb. Love this location. We will be back

Lester's is a fairly run of the mill, Northeastern style "Greek" diner. It's big and it's busy. Their breakfast is okay. It's really pretty bog-standard and unlovingly prepared. The toast usually comes out underdone (like they let the bread look at the toaster but never put it inside) and with too much butter. The home fries are pretty good when they get them crispy, which they do about 25% of the time. Having been there a few times, I don't think I'll return. There are better options for breakfast in town, though it can be a pain to get seated anywhere on a Sunday in less than 30 minutes.

  • Brandon S.

I'm a very easy going person but this was horrible I got ignored when I was waiting to be seated not even a hello or hi may you hold on one minute. Even when my girlfriend got there later I was still waiting. When we got seated we ordered the country fried steak and a fluffy feta spinach omelet with hash browns. My order came out in less than 10 minutes. The country fried steak was very blan. It had to have been made from another previous day and heated up. That plate was a shy away from hospital food if not worse. The cucumber salad was covered in grease was so dreadful. The fluffy omelet almost looked scrambled and overcooked Brown. The hash browns were tasteless (no seasoning) it was like eating plain shredded potatoes and as a side there was buttered toast they dropped a chunk of butter on top when I took a bite butter was all I could taste. On on the bottom piece was tiny drop of butter and a HAIR! Unsanitary restaurant with inconsistent decor horrible miserable employees, with chefs that have apparently gave up on their cooking. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME EATING HERE. Oh and she threw up on the way home in our brand new Altima. Be warned!

I love this place! I am a local who goes to Lester's very often. I have had nearly everything in their menu and love everything! Some of my favorites include the Greek Burger (which is seasoned expertly and is large enough to feed me twice), their Greek salad and their Greek chicken. Yummmmy! Their desserts are decadent....split yours with a friend!

    (4)
  • Laura P.

The food tasted like it came out of a can. The pot roast was just three round pieces of meat soaked in gravy that tasted horrible and cucumber salad that felt like it was soaking for days

First time here and I was pleasantly surprised that it was relatively crowded for a Tuesday at 11am. Which to me means good food!!! The minute I walk in I'm Barely acknowledged by the hostess who has a look on her face like she HATES her job. She throws the menu on table and walks away. Not an "enjoy your breakfast" or anything of that sort. That being said my waiter takes a few minutes to get there but finally shows up with a glass of water. I placed my order right away and it came back within 5 minutes minus my English muffin. I immediately told him about it and I waited forever for it. He comes by about 8 minutes later WITHOUT my English muffin and I reminded him again. In addition to that my bacon was so greasy and chewy it was practically inedible. So I asked for crispier bacon. He comes back 5 min later with my over toasted muffin which again was either old bread or 5 seconds away from being burnt. I was so annoyed at this point that I just didn't say anything. He then brings the bacon which was fresh this time. I never saw him again. I had to request another coffee refill from another waitress who looked like at me like I was asking her for a pint of blood or something. My waiter comes back with coffee refill finally. Not wasting my time or money there again. One positive thing is that the place was clean and they have mini jukeboxes at booth I was sitting in that gives it a nice unique diner flair. But they need to hire fresher friendlier people and be consistent with the food they're bringing out. It's INEXCUSABLE to get chewy bacon and over toasted muffin at a breakfast diner.

Stopped here out of sheer desperation & lack of available time. We both ordered from the 'specials' and figured we couldn't go wrong. Service was fine, soup & salad to start were fine. Husband's baked chicken was good but the sides were pretty terrible, mashed potatoes were too salty and the texture was like those flaked mashed potato mixes that come out of a box, the spinach was DRENCHED in oil. I ordered the Greek combo, also a special. Started with the single (1) dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) and it was actually pretty damn good! Just wish I had gotten more then one. It got progressively worse, the spinach pie was Ok, nothing special, soggy on the bottom but at least palatable & relatively fresh. Moved on to the moussaka, it was ok--It was edible-- although tasted obviously frozen. Then I tried to take a bite of pastitsio and immediately spit it out into my napkin because the béchamel tasted like it had gone bad. Got the check, tipped the waiter 20% since he did his job, and ran out of there swearing myself for even bothering. The owners should be embarrassed to serve most of that food, I thought my people (heard them speaking Greek) in the restaurant business had more pride... Disappointed... I mean, especially if we order off the specials, it should ALL be good. But the generosity of my 2 stars are for the dolmades and the baked chicken which were pretty good. --End rant!! ***Update - Later in the evening, and an extremely upset stomach. (Haven't eaten anything else at all...) Great...

Haven't had a bad meal here yet. The food, specials, and even the attentive staff is great. The only negative is lack of wifi but if you're here for the food and convo then it's perfect for you.

Lester's has been around for years. I've only done breakfast and only during the week. Good service. Good food. In and out quickly. Works for me! PS: I've heard their meatloaf and their pork sandwich are solid. Will have to try it sometime.

    (3)
  • Steve C.

So much fun and the food was real good too. How fun to have a juke box at your table. 7 songs/$1. Got the Brisket Sandwich and my guest had the Salmon Cesar Salad. Both were great! New York style setting. Our server was Jimmy from The Bronx.

From time to time I get a mean craving for meatloaf. I know, that's random. I heard at least 290 people say " YOU MUST TRY LESTER'S" When I told them I had moved to Plantation. Cool...I put it on the back burner. Then one day I went to another restaurant near by and waited 15 minutes without being acknowledged by a server. I headed to Lester's and I am glad I did. I walked in and was welcomed by a big smile. They walked me over to a booth and immediately got me water. They came back a little while later and told me the meatloaf was great. That is all I had to hear. It comes with Mash potatoes and another side. I got fries...yea mash and fries..that's how I roll. The meatloaf was great. It's a massive serving. I ate as much as I could and still had half left. I boxed it up and had it the next day - even better the next day! For the price I was surprised at how massive the portions were. I left happy and will return again soon to cure my meatloaf craving.

The food was not hot, the fries were freezer burnt, the waiter never stopped by to ask how the meal was or if I needed anything else, also the waiter did not know the drink menu. My friend asked what brand of soft drinks they had and the waiter told him Coke when it was actually Pepsi. Then to cap it all off he asked for a tip. I would not recommend stopping here.

After looking at 2 different places for brunch and left because of the wait time, i took the folks to the diner as i remember how yummy their hot chocolate and pancakes were. No wait time, place is roomy, friendly service and overall good food!

  • Dzesika P.

I ordered Lester's steak and asked for it medium. What I received was a dry, overcooked, and tasteless piece of meat along with the most disgusting potatoes I've ever consumed. The server we had was just as dry and tasteless as the food we ordered. Will not be dining here again that's for sure.

    (1)
  • Jessica D.

Overall a great dining experience. The server was attentive, pleasant, and not pushy. Even though, we arrived within 30 minutes to close... I never felt rushed while enjoying my dinner. The food was hot, made to order, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. I love supporting small businesses and this one has been around for years. They are definitely doing something right. I recommend their trying their cakes and pies.

There are several Lester's in South Florida. I've been to three: Coconut Creek, Ft Lauderdale(one off of 84), and Sunrise. The only location that I would suggest going to is the Coconut Creek location. That location is great! I have been to the Sunrise location three times, each time hoping they will be better. They aren't. They over use onions in their salads and dressing. And my favorite dish from the other restaurant, Chicken Athenian, is ruined with a gross garlic sauce they smother it in. Go to the Coconut Creek location and order the Chicken Athenian (say well done) and you won't be disappointed!

Lester's has been a staple in our dining out choices for years! This place is our first go to for our favorite comfort food and pig out breakfasts. The manager and wait staff are always extremely friendly and efficient. Thursdays are one of our favorites because they have corned beef and cabbage. Yum-O! There is nothing that I have had that I didn't like. The food is always fast, hot and portions are large. Definitely will stay on my staple list!

Breakfast omelette is ok can do better at home. The lunch and dinner menu is good though.

I'm from NY so I love a good diner. This diner reminds me of one that I used to go to in Queens. It has the jukeboxes at each booth and a "global" menu. I usually only ever order breakfast (regardless of time of day) whenever I go, so I can't comment on anything but the breakfast offerings. I enjoy their breakfast items - corned beef hash, Belgian waffle, eggs, bacon, hash browns, etc. However, one perk here that is not reminiscent of a NY diner - they gave us free cookies/cake as a dessert after dinner! Gotta love a free cookie!

Good, but not great. The service was very lacking when I had lunch here. Decent burger, but I've had better elsewhere.

brings me back to Long Island, great Greek diner. name it, they got it. breakfast and late night are the best. bacon egg and cheese omelet with a chocolate shake and fries...Why not

Great food, except for my hamburger, please start with better fresh meat. I'll feel better about dropping $100 for my family . Well be back. Staff was friendly.

  • Michael C.

They have one of the best and most extensive bakery cases in west Broward and the service at this place will make you feel like family. As far as the food, have realistic (not low, but it's a diner) expectations and it will meet and in many cases exceed them, although I'm not a huge fan of their breakfast. All and all, a solid option in an area that is pretty deficient on restaurants like this.

    (4)
  • Edward J.

I had breakfast here this morning with "Popeye". Just a bite of good old fashioned Americana in the form of pancakes and sausage. I drank way too much coffee because it goes down real smooth here. It was Sun morning, after 10 AM and the place had a crowd at the door. We sat at the bar. The crowd here is different then the SR84 location. More families, less freak show. All the skinny mothers here were wearing really nice sweat pants. I don't know what that means. When I figure it out I'll be the next Freud. The place was clean and everyone was nice.

  • Genevieve M.

Great diner...lots and lots of choices...with all you would expect from a typical diner. A lot of traditional greek dishes, coupled with yummy breakfast items. The service is really good, and the atmosphere is causal, and comfortable. There are some tables, but mostly booths...which makes things extra cozy :) And for the Sunrise/Plantation area...they are open pretty late. Get the fried zucchini sticks! Very Vegetarian friendly.

I love a good diner and Lester's fits my wishes. Yes, this is a real diner - uncomfortable seats, a little loud, great waitress (Joan) and more coffee than you can imagine. The food is your typical, but not overly greasy. As for Fort Lauderdale, it's my favorite diner. The menu has TONS of options and the portions are big - so go hungry and leave full!

    (4)
  • Merly M.

I've only gone to Lester's for their breakfast, although they have a large menu with tons of lunch and dinner options as well. I love this place! The portions are huge and everything tastes great. All the waitresses who have served me have been really nice and attentive. The food gets there quick and is usually piping hot (so you know it hasn't been sitting around under a heat lamp -fresh outta the kitchen!) I've never had their cakes or cookies, but I've seen them and they look amazing. I'm usually too full from the half-plate sized vegetable omelette, hash browns, and plate-sized Belgian waffle. Yummmm..till next time!

  • Patrice B.

Nice, clean diner, fast service, big menu....tuna salad was really yummy...it had a scoop of cole slaw, egg salad, potatoes along with tuna and veggies. Their cakes look really good. I would go back to try one of their specials.

Lesters Diner got me excited! I loveee diners! I ordered the Virginia ham and cheddar cheese omelette. The omelette came to my table, I dug in tasted it and was sadly disappointed by the dryness and overdone egg. Totally not satisfying or great tasting. I maybe should have tried a basic breakfast combo to get the real feel for all the hype I have been hearing about Lester's

UPDATE: What a surprise to see that Lester's has ranked DIRTIEST RESTAURANT in Sunrise by the Broward Board of Health not just once, but twice. They had 32 health violations on 8/4/2014, and 22 violations 2/11/2015. There was only 1 restaurant that ranked lower overall, and it was Koume Japanese Restaurant 11905 Sunrise Blvd. Of the 32 serious health violations at Lester's, 16 were serious enough to close the restaurant down. Surprisingly upon re-inspection, conditions were only slightly improved. Upon re-inspection 22 health violations remained. Guess the folks at Lester's don't care much about Board of Health Violation notices or transmitting diseases to their customers. On average, health inspectors tend to find 1 or 2 violations and a restaurant gets a warning and told to cure the problem immediately; but 32 the first time and 22 upon resinspection? That's shameful.

Had limited time ~ going to a concert at BB&T Center on Friday night, got there at 5:50 PM needed to be at the BB&T center around 7:00 PM to pic up our tixs. Mike was our waiter - he seemed to shout a lot ~ don't worry everyone going to the concert you will get out in time ~ he came took our order around 6:10 PM ~ we received our drinks (water) and then 10 minutes later we received our soup and salads, 10 mins later we received our bread. Still feeling that we will have our dinners in enough time ~ but when 6:45 arrived and still no sign of food coming we started thinking we're never going to get our food in time. Although Mike did keep shouting that the food was coming. Never came by and spoke to us ~ just shouted from the behind the counter. by 7:00 PM we were out the door headed to the BB&T Center. Sad to say, I will probably never go back ~ nor will the 3 of my friends that were with me. We work too hard for our money to be treated with such disrespect.

Best for breakfast. Superb family style service. The staff can become like family. It has a "Cheers" like atmosphere. Even though it is a diner it is very clean and cheery.

  • Jason G.

2.5 stars. Decent dinner but I prefer a place like Gramps in Dania over this. I'm told the original location is better but this was solid. Hate the hot corned beef sandwich. A friend had the meatloaf. Typical dinner with your classic waitresses with sass. Can't say I wouldn't go back if I was in the area but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way either.

The food came out super fast (about 7 minutes after order). The food was average dinner food and a reasonable price. Overall fast, clean and food.

Do your self a favor, go to the one on 84 near the airport, this one has gone down hill, i have eaten here due to the fact i lived in Davie, the food has gone down hill in the last year, portions are smaller and quality has suffered, their staff is nice, there is one guy who works in the bar area at night, go to him, he is the only redeeming part of this one.

  • Michael K.

One person in our party ordered grilled cheese with tomato sandwich. Shouldn't be a difficult item. The tomato used had a large hard green center that was inedible. Anyone in the kitchen that cares about the food they put out wouldn't have used that slice of tomato. Someone else ordered an ice cream soda. The ice cream tasted like it was in the freezer 6 months too long. Zuchini sticks were like you would buy in the grocery store, except I would have cooked them better. Had a burger, and it tatsted fine. We were there for an early lunch on a Sunday. Many patrons were finishing their breakfasts and those dishes looked good. I would say a good place to go for breakfast, but if you want real food for lunch or dinner you'll be happier if you choose somewhere else to dine.

Oops, I'm not in LA anymore... We headed Lester's straight from the airport. I ordered the Stuffed Grape Leaves thinking it was the safest vegan option. It never occurred to me to ask what it was stuffed with. Thank goodness I offered Phillip N. a bite before I dove in. bit.ly/QI8S5f As it turns out, Stuffed Grape Leaves is filled with meat. Being from CA, this is the first I've heard of grape leaves to be stuffed with meat. I'm used to it being stuffed with rice. Our waitress was worried that I would leave with an empty stomach and stuck around to help me figure out my options. While there wasn't much for me except for the Greek salad sans feta, I thought her intentions were sweet :) Btw, the Greek Salad had a very tasty dressing. Not the traditional dressing you get on a Greek salad...it was a little bit on the sweet side with chunks of onion. I wish I could go home with a bottle of that dressing. Even though this was not the best food experience, I still give this place 4 stars for our awesomely friendly and considerate waitress. Bonus points for being open 24 hours.

Typical diner food, great for a casual dinner. They have a large variety of desserts, that come in very large portions. They do a great weekend breakfast, although it tends to get crowded and there is a bit of a wait.

  • Tom B.

I had lunch their today. The service was very good. That is about all I can say that was good about it though. I ordered 2 Large Greek Salads for there, and 1 to go. When the salads arrived in a timely way, I was first amazed that it was made with Iceberg Lettuce, and the olives were not Calamata Olives. For the price, about $9.50 they were not very large. There was about 2 ounces of Feta cheese, 6 olives, 4 Greek Peppers, and a few slices of cucumber and chunks of onion and a stuffed grape leaf. As we were waiting at the counter I noticed that they were serving a generic brand of fountain soda. How cheap can you get? I think it will be my last visit.

Aight so first... Props to Yelp for allowing us to do reviews on the mobile. Now as for Lester's, initially I came in to do a to go as it was 6:30 in the morning and I didn't feel like cooking anything up but when I walked in there was only one customer and the place was clean so I decided to dine in. The waitress was very attentive and refilled my glasses without me asking. I ordered the Broward County special which consisted of three eggs, grits and toast and I ordered a side of home fries. I would have to say that the taste was average (nothing special) but I must give props for there home fries! Would I go back? Yes, but only early morning. They open 6:30am - 12am er'day!

Went there for breakfast today and it's honestly one of the best local places I've been to so far. The service was great, the aesthetics had an 80s New York charm to them with authentic jukeboxes at nearly every booth which I liked a lot, and the food was fantastic. (For diner food.) All that on top of the great location, being right next to Sawgrass Mills so if you're feeling a bit tired from walking around and shopping and you don't feel like having mall food you can just walk right across the street and there you are. While it's not absolutely drop-dead amazing it's definitely viable for a quick, good meal and I recommend trying it at least once or twice if you live in the area.

How can you not like Lester's? Food is good, service is always great and the wait is never terrible. This is a great weekend brunch spot!

  • JC T.

All haters... STOP Let's start off with the fact that diner food is just that, IT'S DINER FOOD. It's not fine dining and attempting to say that diners in NY/NJ area operate in some rarefied airspace and that Lester's doesn't stack up is simply ludicrous. I read through the reviews and If I read one more "I'm a NY'er" or "I grew up in Jersey" statement, as thought that makes you a superior authority on the subject of diner-fare, well, I'm just going to be sick. I too am an ex-NY'er, and now consider myself proud to be a Floridian. I am one to always point out that there isn't much I miss about NY/LI except for a certain quality of pizza, but that is an argument for another day. However, last night having eaten at Lester's (Sunrise) for the first time, I had an epiphany, I miss a good diner. We walked through the door, and I swear to you, we were magically transported to {insert Long Island/North Jersey Township name here} upon crossing the threshold. Not super busy for Thursday at 6:45, but there was a handful of patrons throughout. We were greeted immediately, seated quickly, and treated respectfully. The waiter Jimmy was your typical "Johnny Bag-a-Donuts" type, that is to say I'm guessing he didn't hail from Nebraska if you know what I mean. He took multiple orders from several tables never writing a single item down, and not making a single mistake in the orders. He was witty, knew the menu up and down, and had quite the rapport with our 4 yr. old daughter (I am going to guess he has raised some daughters in his life). Yes the food was average diner food, but ALL diners have average food (some have better brown gravy; some have crappy home fires... etc.). Say what you will, but we loved this place and will be coming back often. Our daughter loved the service so much; she crayoned a "thank you picture" for Jimmy on the back of her menu, which was prominently displayed behind the register. Our only regret is that it took us over 9 years to finally come in for dinner. Stop hating folks... it's a diner, and dare I say, it's a good one.

Want a great breakfast without going to a popular restaurant chain, this is the place to eat. You could stuff your face and walk if off at Sawgrass Mills Mall just around the corner.

Food was good, hostess was nasty, this is not who I would want at my front door to my business. No thanks.

Excellent country fried steak... Not greasy at all. Even better than cracker barrel. Try their waffle also.. they provided this butter whip cream that goes perfect with their waffle. Sure will go back again

Horrible food, service and experience. Had the early bird 17.49 Broiled Scallops. It took 45 minutes to get my meal. When it finally came it was just the scallops and no sides - it took 10 more minutes to get the sides. Scallops were the most tough, rubbery things I have ever had. It was not even remotely busy when I went.so why the wait? No idea said the waitress who could have cared less until it came tip time when she was thanks for not being bitchy about this it really wasn't my fault it was the kitchen - hope you remember me, oh I will remember her alright. Pass right by this place.

Upon entrance, floors, tables and counters were dirty. Had to use the restroom and walked right back out. It was filthy in there. Sat down to eat. Waited 28 minutes to be served breakfast. Food was cold and tasteless. My husband ordered a vegetarian omelette and found meat all over it. We asked for the check to get out of there as fast as possible. We've never been there before and will never go back. We were just in the area and did not want to drive all the way to our regular diner. That place needs to inspected by the health department, I'm sure it will be shut down after an inspection. Disgusting!!!!

Terrible service on Sunday, June 22. Young male server was surly, never checked back after we got our food to see he got the order wrong. The food was ok, but not as good as it used to be. We had sandwiches which came with cole slaw and a pickle. Portions were large, but quality was fair. It was not busy, so there was no excuse for the poor service.

Listen, I'm from Brooklyn, so I know diners, OK? I visit family in Sunrise and it's hard to get a really good meal down there, and even harder to find an acceptable diner. Lester's is acceptable - by Florida standards, if not by Brooklyn standards - but just barely. If they were in Brooklyn, they could never stay in business. The menu is paltry compared to NYC standards, and everything is just about all right, some a little better than all right, some really worse and flavorless. I usually get eggs there because that's hard to screw up. A big fat MEH - but better than some other choices, I guess.

Great diner and is close to Sawgrass Mills. The area though needs to see some kind of revitalization / gentrification. However, because the area is largely vacant, there's plentiful of parking. Pancakes are yummy! Menu is pretty large. Reasonable prices. Portions are big. Each booth has its own jukebox!

Good place to go for a late night meal or a early morning hangover. The menu is vast and the food is quality. I have never had a problem with service. I would recommend the double cheese burger and the chili.

I was actually pretty disappointed with this place, despite my 4 star review. I gave it 4 stars because the restaurant was cheap, the decor reminded me exactly of the NY diners I grew up going to, and our waitress was very friendly. The part that disappointed me was that the restaurant gave the illusion that I was in a NY diner, but the food was def. not as good. My husbands gyro was very mediocre and my corn beef sandwich was far from a NY sandwhich. I do feel that if I didn't have such high expectations, I probably would've enjoyed it more. I would prob. go back, but to get the true diner experience, I think I need to travel a little further than the Sawgrass mall.

was there last night around 10:30 PM. it was not busy maybe 4 tables. we went there for coffee and cake. The coffee was good the cakes were marginal. tried to get a refill on my coffee but my waitress never came back. asked another waitress and she just walked away. I finally got up and went behind the counter and got my own coffee, nobody stopped me. My waitress never brought the check, so we just went to the cashier and paid. after we finished paying the waitress finally showed up and gave us the check. I have to say the cashier was very personable.

This was such a great place! The food was served literally 5 min after we ordered it, the staff was attentive, and the corned beef hash was so good I couldn't bear to put ketchup on it. prices were very reasonable.

Okay, I live in the suburbs and suffer. I miss being east and going to the 'REAL' Lester's diner. Nothing compares. Although here the food is just as decent and the expectations are good diner breakfast, it's new and suburban. Good place if you're on your way somewhere or just live someplace fairly close.

Ate here years ago and I can't believe this place is still open. I dunno who would come here? Maybe the people from the trailer park down the street.
