Fresh Catch Seafood Grill Menu

There aren't a lot of casual, local eateries for a sit-down dinner in the Stuart area, but we were definitely A-OK with our visit to Fresh Catch, so if you're in the mood for non-chain eating, with plenty of seafood, in a casual ambiance with reasonable prices, Fresh Catch is sure to hit the spot. I dined out on their nice, relaxing outdoor patio with a group of 12, and while we weren't a rowdy group, we were a hungry and thirsty group, and our waitress did a great job juggling our requests for beverage refills, extra sauces, etc., all while retaining her sense of humor. I was pleasantly surprised with the mojito, although it was a bit heavy on the soda water. The beer drinkers in the group were happy with the beer selections on draught and bottled, so no complaints there. In typical fashion for this group, we ordered just about one of every appetizer item on the menu. I don't recall anything particularly outstanding; both the conch fritters and hush puppies were so fried that it was hard to tell the difference between them. The Wahoo Fish Dip was pretty good, however. There's a huge selection of food on the dinner menu, definitely suitable for any palate. I was impressed at how much serious non-seafood items were available, while still dedicating sections of the menu to the sea-faring items. Although I was tempted to go for fish tacos or a shrimp burrito, I opted for the fresh catch of the day to keep it local and to see if Fresh Catch could live up to their name! Turns out the catch, hogfish or black grouper I believe, was a fish I had never had before, so I had it grilled, and the waitress was nice enough to give me a double portion of steamed veggies as opposed to mashed potatoes and veggies. One of my dining companions raved and raved over their Seafood Pot, and everyone seemed to enjoy their entrees. The most memorable aspect about my visit to Fresh Catch was their homemade habanero-based hot sauce that isn't on their menu, but was brought to me with a wink (and a warning) when I asked for hot sauce. Clearly they didn't know I am the Spice Fiend, and while the sauce was tasty and packed some heat, it didn't necessitate the warning that came with it :-)

Great lobster special and you can't beat their $5 sheikh - fish tacos. Place is hopping as the bar is a great place to eat. Fresh oyster are good as well. Ronn just Ronn The home in the wall food guy

I have been to many restaurants in Stuart and have to say this one is one of my favorites! Elaine had been our server a few times and is great! Boomer the bartender is awesome and energetic, fun atmosphere, consistent service, staff is always engaging and helpful.

Food = good / ambience = a little dark I did not have to make reservations to go to this restaurant - please note - I visited this restaurant during the week so I do not feel a reservation was needed. I am not sure reservations are even taken. Service: Great. I did not have to ask for refills. The waitress knew the menu and communicated her suggestions very clearly. Food: not bad, tasted very well. Price: not bad, the amount of food that you receive to the amount of you food you get is on par with what you would expect. Desert: did not try. Not a bad place to grab a bite, I just thought the restaurant was a little dark.

Nice lunch. Crab salad sandwich with green tomatoes was tasty. Slaw was excellent. Good service.

I wasn't really impressed by Fresh Catch. When my wife and I arrived and asked for a booth, there were none available and the hostess sat us out in the very middle of the room at a large table. The next couple that came in got a nice cozy little table for two next to the window. I got the grilled salmon, which was tender but flavorless. The green beans and carrots served as a side were also devoid of flavor. Any kind of flavoring, spice, citrus, even a little salt would have made this meal better. My wife said her food was also flavorless. For almost forty dollars after the tip, I expected a lot more. Service was below average. The waitress only came by once to see if we needed anything. When it came time for the check, the waitress passed us by a few times, but we finally got her to take my card. She then turned around to take the order at the table of seven next us. When she finally finished, she went to the bar, made all of their drinks, delivered them, and finally ran our card. All in all, we waited an extra fifteen minutes after finishing our mediocre food just to pay and leave. The restaurant was loud, uncomfortable, and we had two flies constantly pestering us too. There wasn't any one thing wrong with this place, it's just that all of the little pieces added up to an average experience. If I could go two and a half stars, I would.

Friendly, Fresh, Fast and Fabulous! Loved everything and menu offered something for everyone, even if you don't or can't do seafood! Highly recommend....

Great oysters and great service. Reasonably priced, although the grilled snapper came out a bit too dry :/

Usually the meal is fine especially for the price. My wife and I ordered the fresh catch which was Wahoo. It came with red mashed potatoes and we ordered asparagus (up charge). The fish was way over cooked, a shame the chef ruined two nice pieces of fish. Service was great, eat outside but came in because of the cigarette smoke.

It has a lot of potential, despite being in such a weird building (isn't this a renovated retirement home office? Looks like it). The food is great, especially for the prices they're listed at. The blackened dolphin is definitely the best I've had in Stuart. I've only eaten here during lunch, so can't speak towards the evening crowd, but I would say it's a good place for a quick bite. However, they might want to rethink their staff. Either they're too young or too old; a seven or eight-year-old showed us to our table (which was fine, although a bit odd) and an older woman tried to serve us. It was going well until she had 2+ tables to wait on (we were her 2nd table of the day). Once she had to juggle 2 new tables, all shit hit the fan - she forgot orders, messed them up (or maybe that actually was the kitchen's fault), skipped our table, left dishes, messed up special prices, and, in the end, had to be flagged down to get our check. I'll go again so I can try the cobia, but I'll make sure to ask for the cute boy as the server. (Anybody know his name?!)

Maybe staying in FL over Christmas and going to different restaurants has spoiled me, but I wasn't too impressed with this place. We noticed the staff playing football in the front of the restaurant as we walked in. I got a bad feeling, and we even joked that if we didn't like the food we would leave after appetizers. Maybe we should have stuck by that.... I also saw a sign when we got there that the name had recently been changed. Not a good sign. That's a move you see on reality food TV when an establishment wants to distance itself from the previous name for bad service/food/something else not so positive. Hmmm. Well, onto the food. First off, the iced tea was weak. Not sure if they didn't properly brew it or added water to stretch the batch. It was $2.50 to substitute sweet potato fries for the mashed potatoes! Most retaurants charge $1 for that type of thing. I felt like their substitution charge was steep. The dinner selection small, I felt like there wasn't much to choose from. And the place was kind of empty at 5pm. As for the appetizers, the calamari was good. The marinara was canned with added herbs. Pounded conch was good, I liked sauce with it. All 4 entree plates were ice cold. Culinary 101: if you heat the plates, the hot food you put on the plates will stay hot longer. The mashed potatoes were just meh, nothing to write home about. The vegetables were under seasoned, green beans were fresh but undercooked. My cobia was overcooked, I thought since the piece was thin...but my boyfriend's thicker piece was overcooked also. The fish itself was also under seasoned. It was grilled and didn't have any sort of accompanying sauce. Bland and disappointing. Salad or bread doesn't come with meal either. Service was standard, but she didn't notice two sets silverware were missing from our 4-person booth. Since it was empty I just took two sets from a nearby table. The music was modern hits and 90s rap. The place is cavernous, everything echoes. I can only imagine how loud it gets with more than one table there. One plus: Yuengling on tap!

The food was very good, had to ask for refills on drinks, waiter had her head in the clouds I think would probably come back .the place is a little pricy for the amount of food you get !

Visited after church for a lunch with a large group. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. The food took awhile to come out, but I suppose this was due to the fact that we had so many people. Their menu has a lot of options, even for the non-seafood lover. In addition to the soups and calamari, and fish options galore, they have chicken options for almost every taco and burrito and sandwich. They even have a turkey burger. I ate the chicken BLT which comes with a chipotle aioli sauce. Gives it a little kick! My son got the mahi-mahi tacos, which he enjoyed, but got it grilled which left more of a fishy taste than he desired. My daughter ordered a cheese quesadilla off the kids' menu, which I would not recommend. Next time we'd do chicken tenders or something instead. They were sensitive to a gluten-free diet and great about accommodating. For example, someone ordered the firecracker shrimp, but the owner let them know that they put a light breading of flour on during the cooking process, and they did it without. Very impressive. :)

We went back twice in a week. We were trying to support a local business until we were taken advantage of. The food is okay. Really nothing out of this world. We wanted a cupcake so I gave my fiancé $20 dollars. When he came back to the table he returned with about .80 cents. I asked him where the rest of the money was and he said the woman (older dark haired, somewhat resembles a gypsy) told him he had given her a $5, which is not true. We all knew it. When he confronted her she denied it. Hence, I walked up and explained that my bill had been folded, when I asked her to take out the last $20 in her register sure enough. It was my bill! It was only until I appeared upset that she gave me $15 back. I feel as though this individual may have tried this trick before and attempted it on the wrong person. If you do go in to eat here, please make sure to check your change and beware of this trick!

Well, sorry to say Fresh Catch struck out 3 times Friday night. Friends and I had their Fish and Chips last year and craved the crispy fish and chips. Also wanted one of their Bloody Mary's. Definately a difference from last tear. The Bloody Mary was so horribly spicy it caused one of us to run to the ladies room. The server Katie was great, she apologized and brought us a Mohito which was also horrible. To make the whole experience doubly bad, the fish was soggy as hell! No crispy taste at all. I am done with Fresh Catch! Ps the music was like a bad one man band! The one star was for the server Really awful food

Had dinner here with my Mom and one of her friends. My cocktail (Manhattan) was excellent, but everything else was just "OK". Service was sub-par...we had to ask our waitress three times for napkins. Staff could not figure out how to use remote controls to operate the ceiling fans. Food was mediocre at best, and no bargain given the prices. There are better places around for seafood.

Absolute awesomeness! Good, casual, no pretense seafood, but the excellent and friendly service makes this place really stand out

The service and the food are so hit or miss at this place. The Manhattan clam chowder is good, nice heat and flavor. The servers seem confused. Asked for a vinaigrette for my salad, was told they only had a ginger house dressing. Yet another time I went there, I was given vinaigrette. Same story goes for the dipping sauce for the hushpuppies and other apps. There is no consistency here.

I have become a regular at Fresh Catch and for the money you can't find a better meal. The grilled salmon tacos with a side of slaw is the way to go. The staff and the owners are extremely friendly. The next time you are in the area make sure you drop in it will be worth it, trust me!

This was our first time visiting Fresh Catch and now im wondering why we waited so long! Upon walking in we noticed how amazing the food being prepared smelled and knew we were in the right place. The ambience is great and the wine rack display behind the bar is amazing! I had the shrimp/crab chowder and blackened shrimp tacos which were both seasoned to perfection. My husband had the wedge salad and chicken picatta which he raved about. He did want for a tad more lemon in it and our very nice server Catie was happy to supply him with some. He was very impressed with the cut of the chicken and how thinly it was pounded (and being a former chef he is very hard to impress!) Given that I only eat seafood and my husband only eats meat, FreshCatch provided a wonderful meal for us both. All in all it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!!

Visited Fresh Catch last Friday for the third time since the name change from Tin Fish. Everyone in our party of five enjoyed their meals. I had the blackened tilapia burrito and it was excellent. My family had everything from the fish taco to Mahi Burrito, Calimari Burrito and Conch Fritters. Everything was very good except the chips and salsa. The chips really didn't cut it for me. The service was excellent and the entertainment on the outdoor patio was ...entertaining! Will be back.

Under a new name. "Fresh Catch" When I saw $15 to $18 for grilled seafood I was expecting some fish, some veggies, and maybe a potato... at least some rolls. I'm not impressed. The fish was good, but in addition to the lack of sides, the plastic silverware and foam plates don't add to the ambiance, and service was slow and unprofessional. We won't be back.

Nice Friendly place. Love the Salmon Tacos! Home made fish dip is excellent :) The music is loud if you sit outside.

I love this place. The owners are as kind and attentive as they can be. They have great live entertainment. Their food is superb. I'm now personally addicted to the salmon chipotle fish taco. The house salad is UNBELIEVABLE! This place is a winner!

Had dinner and drinks with friends there last night. The food was okay. The service was horrible. The wait staff was confused and disorganized. If you want a drink, be prepared to get up and go get it from the bar on your own. I would think that a new restaurant, in a space where a previous one has failed would pull out all of the stops.

Great addition to the Stuart area, very fresh raw bar, worth the trip here by itself. Would recommend a larger variety of oysters, for the flavor and salinity variations. Two thumbs way up!

Service is atrocious!!! Lacking in energy and caring and this was not the first time we felt this way. Their wait staff is constantly new. Why can't you keep the help. My wife and I have been going off an on since they opened; several months now. Food is consistently average and very pricey for what you get. The menu at all of these Tin Fish franchises is way too big and seemingly never ending with choices. Hey, take a hint from Chipoltle, less is more. Furthermore they need to choose: are they going to be an order at the counter and seat yourself type joint or are they going to be a sit down full service type place. In the last 2 months they flip flopped between the two. Newsflash you are fast food seafood stick to it and get the people in and out. Can the sit down service. I am done giving chances.....Not going back.

We've been here twice now and really enjoy the food and atmosphere. If your looking to eat salmon, tilapia, or some other boring staple...go to Publix. If you'd like a nice evening out with your spouse and a good piece of locally caught fish, you can't beat it. We had Cobia tonight, blackened. Nice size piece, firm, cooked very nicely. Veggies are veggies. I've had lesser pieces of fish 3x the price at some very fine restaurants during my business travels. This is a great meal for the price and easily beats, IMHO, the other local fish places in Palm City and Jensen. Enjoy.

Try the fish spread appetizer! It's the BEST! Clam chowder was awesome also!!! Can't beat the atmosphere! Casual and prices are good too! The bartender made a mean dirty martini!!

My wife and I decided to try this place because they advertise "fresh" seafood. Well, we never got a chance to try the food. Why? When we entered we stood by a chalkboard menu, as there was no obvious hostess stand. A young lady was leaning on a counter by a stack of menus about 10 feet away. She never greeted us. After a couple minutes she held two fingers up in the air in our direction. We walked toward her, she picked up two menus, still not greeting us in any verbal manner. She started walking away so we followed her. She took us into an extremely noisy bar and placed the menus on a table top that was within arms length of loud, obnoxious males drinking at the bar. There was no way that we were going to sit down for dinner in such an atmosphere. When I say noisy, you literally could not carry on a conversation. The hostess seemed irritated that we did not want to sit there. She then took us to a room outside the bar area that was not as noisy, but still a lot of noise from the bar. The room was drab, downright ugly decor. We asked for a booth. The hostess said that we would have to wait until it was cleaned off. She left us standing there for at least 10 minutes. She finally came back ane wiped the table off. We sat down and watched the waitresses pass us by at least 5 times, never acknowledging us. Finally we got up and left. On the way out I advised the hostess that we were leaving because no one acknowledged us. She said that it was a busy room (there were at least six empty tables). She never apologized and exuded a care less attitude. Will never go back and will never recommend this place. No excuse for service like this.

Can't beat the food for the price. We love the calamari tacos and fish tacos. They stuff the tacos and burritos full of whatever you order in them.

Really enjoyed our first visit there. Shrimp cocktail and fresh oyster were great. Ahi tuna salad was beautiful and my husband really enjoyed it. Two of us had the grilled scallops they were excellent. Catch of the day was flounder and it was well received. Only tiny complaint, music was a little too loud.

It doesn't get any better than this. Great food, great staff, and great environment! Their happy hour is from 3-6 every day (get the firecracker shrimp) which includes appetizers and drinks. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays too! I had a week stay in Stuart and went here every night for dinner. Their catch of the day, which happened to be grouper was fantastic!! I would recommend this to anyone staying in the area.

Awesome!!! Great ambiance that attracts a good crowd. I had the Seafood Pot which was fantastic. If you like clams, oysters and shrimp in a garlic and tomato sauce this is it. My wife had the fried shrimp and it was not greasy nor heavily battered and was delicious. Our waiter Paul was amazing! They have a lovely patio area and musicians on the weekend. I really recommend a visit. We will return very soon.

Very happy each of the 5 times Ive dined there. They had Golden Tilefish on special and had it pan seared Cooked perfectly, and Id love to have it again! The grilled Mahi is a favorite of mine as well Its always nice when a restaurant lets the quality of their produce do the talking and the Mahi is no exception These people know fish. Lively bar area and occasional live music is nice too Id go back anytime

Ok new place and for the price of for the most part fresh seafood and for the generous portions it makes a great value. Now I have a few suggestions to add though. Crab cakes I'm used to remoulade or tar tar, please make it available. Coach cashier to explain its self service and where utensils and such are. Also the burrito I had was great ordered the mahi still had some bones in it though so double check the employees because even if I don't mind there are plenty that will. Also the burrito needs something, like zippy maybe a chipotle sauce or just some sort of hot peppers and also a citrusy flavor like lime in it. It's good just expected those two things. Overall nice and terrific value!

Good food, simple menu, surprisingly inexpensive. We had conch chowder, grilled mahi-mahi taco, grilled mahi- mahi burrito with fries and beers and iced tea to wash it all down. The chowder was excellent, spicy with lots of conch, and the tortillas tasted homemade. The atmosphere was pleasant, music playing was just loud enough so that you couldn't hear the conversations of the diners nearby. We were seated and served promptly and the wait staff was friendly. Our only complaint was that they weren't too concerned with refreshing our drinks. We will definitely be repeat customers.

They should change the name back to Tin Fish because nothing I ate tonight tasted like a fresh catch at all. The restaurant has nice decor and is very clean. The service was great but that's about it. I had a blackened scallop taco and fried fish taco with a cup of shrimp and corn chowder. My husband had fish and chips and chowder. We also ordered onion rings. Everything tasted frozen. Not fresh at all. The soup was decent compared to everything else. Also, the tacos had lettuce, cheese and salsa on them. The hot seafood wilted the lettuce. They should use cabbage instead as fish tacos are typically made with. Maybe we ordered wrong - maybe the grilled fish is better but I would not come back. It was $40 for both. I could have gotten a bag of frozen gortons fish at publix for a quarter of the price and it prob would have been more satisfying.
