I went here with my wife for a night out. The steaks we ordered came out perfectly cooked the way we asked and our server was very fast and even helped us pick a good bottle of wine that matched perfectly with our food. He also gave us great attention and knew the answer to every question we asked about the menu. We will definitely go back again!

We went to Chophouse 88 for a niece's graduation party. In a word: fabulous. Between us, we had: Short ribs - cut it with a spoon, melt in your mouth amazingness. Grilled jumbo shrimp - seasoned to perfection. Filet - couldn't stop eating and Cam almost ate the whole plate! Salmon w vegetables - veggies were fresh and wonderful; salmon with balsamic glaze was moist and marvelous. Chicken pasta - rich and right on! Recommend this place a thousand times over!

Our first experience dining at chophouse 88 was incredible! It was in December. The food was outstanding the bartenders were knowledgeable and super friendly. The overall service was excellent! We went again and had a totally different experience! It took over 20 minutes to get told that the wine we chose from their list was unavailable. They said the bar was "backed up" but the restaurant was not full. Our first drink arrived with our appetizers which were lukewarm. The meals were terrible! They were out of several menu items, they substituted things without saying anything. My "sea bass", that cost $31 was barely larger than the tines on my fork and appeared to be cod. My husband's steak ($72) was small and we could have gotten it at publix, cooked it at home and done better! His "carmelized" Brussel sprouts were almost raw and definitely NOT carmelized. And we were never offered a 2nd drink! I called and left several messages because the manager wouldn't come to the phone, e-mailed too...none were returned! I wouldn't even give them a star!

The 6 or times I have dined here I have been very happy. Between the service, atmosphere and food quality I feel its good value for good food. True, this isnt Longhorn or another place where you would find a $12.99 strip. The menu may not be priced for all, but those who eat there will be impressed with portion size and overall quality. I had to send a steak back once for being undercooked, but it was made right ASAP without making me feel like I was doing something wrong by ordering a steak "my way" This can be the case at some high end places but not here. The staff is very quick to recommend a new and or popular wine for your meal. I have been pleased with their choices and will continue to take their pairing advice Cant wait to go back

We have visited this restaurant 3 times. The first two times, the food was pretty good. The last visit, the food was underwhelming. As this restaurant is under new ownership, there are changes taking place. Some are good and some are not so good. The macaroni, one of our favorites, is not as good as it was and neither is the key lime pie, which was one of the best in the city. It is very pricey for a meal that is average, at best. 2 adults and 2 kids cost us $250.00 and we would have been much happier at about $100 at Carabbas or Longhorn. I hope this restaurant makes it because we need more upscale dining in Stuart, but being that this is already the second owner and it is still not great, I doubt it.

I really really wanted to like this place. It started out good with the appetizers. However we waited a good 30-40 minutes after ordering the food. I asked for medium rare on my ribeye...it was barely medium rare and some of it was rare. I couldn't eat the rest. The pork my wife ordered was very good and so were the mashed potatoes. Other than that the food was good, but considering the price, the wait and good didn't match. We may try again.

I give it a star bc of the host that came in for his fiancé to cover and he tried. Bar service horrible, in fact they were awful. waitress ok, food not worth the price. No one should wait 45 minutes for drinks after being sat at their tables. Not one table near us had anything positive to say. Everyone complained about the kitchen messing up their meals. Happy Valentine's Day...Burger King is better! Never again!

Our experience was overall positive. Our server was attentive but not overly so. She was knowledgeable with regard to the menu and wine list and made informed recommendations. As for the food, there were a few issues. The side dish that we wanted was run out (at 7 pm, 2 hours after they opened). Our baked potatoes were brought out cold, but our server brought out hot replacements when it was brought to her attention. All of the other items were hot, and our steaks were cooked to our stated preference. One thing bothered me enough to mention here was the server for the table adjacent to ours was taking orders and I overheard him tell his customers that the filets that they asked for "didn't have much flavor" and they should instead order the prime cuts. We had ordered the steaks that he said were inferior so I had to start wondering what we would get. As it turned out our steaks were fine in every respect; I interpret his remark as a sales tactic intended to pitch an item that cost $20 more. I really thought his tactic was an inappropriate attempt to boost his gratuity. Based on the deficiencies noted here, for the price of our meal I would not characterize the dinner as exceptional, and I will probably not return. There are several equivalent or better steak houses in our area where the food is equivalent or better for a similar price.

The new owners did not honor the coupon in a yearly coupon book so we left and won't go back. I did enjoy happy hour at the bar till it came time for dinner. The bartender was very nice and helpful. Wish I could say the same for management.

Made a reservation for Feb 15 for a party of 7 via the Yelp app. This was to celebrate my dad's 85 birthday. I received a confirmation and thought I was fine. We arrived at Chop 88 at 6:30 only to find it closed with a sign taped to door telling customers they were closed and would reopen Monday. No notice was emailed. No phone call. No time to find another up scale restaurant for party that large without a long wait. Total disappointment. Went home ordered take out. Thanks Chop House and Yelp for following up on reservations great job. Lesson learned Zero stars

I dined at Chop House 88 last night for the first time on a recommendation from my boss, and have to say I was thoroughly impressed. We were greeted and seated quickly by the hostess, and within a few minutes the waiter, Peter, came over to our table and explained the menu and specials. We started with the beef tartare, which was absolutely delicious, and the thai shrimp, which were good but nothing spectacular. For the main course, two of us ordered petite filets, one of us ordered the chicken dish, and one of us ordered the ribeye. All three steaks were cooked perfectly for what we requested (black and blue, rare, and medium rare, respectively). They were all absolutely delicious, as were the sides (which I was pleasantly surprised to find out were included with the meal and not a la carte, like most steakhouses). I didn't try the chicken, but the member of our party who ordered it said it was great. As for dessert, I ordered the chocolate brownie lava cake, which left a bit to be desired, but was decent. Overall, the majority of our food was exceptional (dessert could use some work as there were only two options) and the service was impeccable. Our waiter was funny and attentive, the atmosphere was cool, and I will definitely be going here for dinner again.

The menu and wine list is excellent. The food was inconsistent. We are foodies and for these prices, the food should be better cooked and seasoned. The service was good as well, but they hurry away with your plates without asking if you need anything else. We ordered four filet mignons. Three were overcooked...were they stereotyping us? We ordered lamb (out of it). Also ordered a large Filet Mignon (out of the large size). We ended up with four Petit Filet Mignon's. They were ordered medium rare and three came out cooked medium and medium well. We had to send them back. The meat quality was very good. The chef does not use much seasoning, so the food was slightly bland. The creamed corn and brussel sprouts were very good. Our wine and desserts were also very good. Overall 2 1/2 to 3 stars. The main problem seems to be the chef. The food quality is excellent and the ambiance is nice. They need to ask for some feedback from their patrons........

I think they are gone, closed. I believe they were there as recently as April. Tried to go tonight, phone disconnected.
