Love Love Love! This is a great place to stop and have some AWESOME wine and GREAT food. Atmosphere wasn't lacking either, you can sit either inside or out. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked very tasty!! The hubby and I shared a meat and cheese board. You must have the Soppressata and the Truffle Ham....it had a fancy name that I have forgotten lol. Also on the board were some dried apricots, stuffed olives, whole grain mustard, an honey....just to name a few. Two glasses of wine an 20 min later I was full and happy. This place doesn't take reservations due to the limited space. You should definitely stop by here the next time you have a chance. I can't wait to go again. I'm sure my review will change from 4 to 5 stars once I gave tried some other foods.

Wow! So this place is not only super trendy with its exposed brick and awesome staff, the food was more then we expected. Had the charcuterie tray pick 5 and I can do just that... so many choices all fantastic! The heirloom tomato salad was delicious with its mozzarella, balsamic vinegar and pesto splash I was in heaven. I didn't even need that warm toast but the presentation was great. I also had the pan seared scallops on a touch of cream corn. They were perfect in the seashells I had to just stare for a moment. My boyfriend, Will had the Caesar salad and steak tartare. I couldn't eat a steak tartare if I tried but he thoroughly enjoyed it! If you're looking for a place for dinner or for drinks and an app check it out. Downtown St Pete continues to amaze me!

This is my new favorite date night spot. It's intimate and their charcuterie plates are unparalleled to any other wine bar I've been to in the Tampa Bay area. The seasoned marcona almonds are outstanding (and yes they come on every charcuterie board). The cheese selection is wonderful and the cured meats are plentiful and delicious. We came here on a whim for Creative Loafing's Restaurant week because their menu was generous and allowed us to try an assortment of their menu. If you like brie, you will love the ribiola due latte (sheep and cow milk blend from Italy). My husband and I sparred with our cheese knives for the last remnants of it ;) Not expecting too much from the truffle gnocchi mac and cheese, I was dumbfounded. The truffle oil came out loud and strong and it was a very generous portion. We both loved it. We also loved the lamb ragout--bursting with flavor. So why did I take away a star? Well their a/c was half out and I was rocking a pretty sweet sweatstache that was less than flattering as a result. Hopefully they have the AC back on full blast because we can't wait to go back!

Amazing addition to downtown St Pete. Be sure to start off with the charcuterie plate. We chose 5 items: prosciutto, felino salami, and a ham for our meat; Mazzaro Grana Riserva and a sheep milk, that wasn't on the menu, for our cheese selections. The presentation was pleasing and all of our choices were delicious. We also ordered a "small plate", Sweet Potato Gnocchi, which wasn't very small. It actually could be a meal itself but we shared so it was perfect. Almost tasted like breakfast potatoes, still good. The brown butter made the dish. A few glasses of wine completed our order and we were both content, if not a little full. The service was spot on. A very fine dining vibe without the fine dining price. I give the 5 star rating because I will definitely return and already have plans to do so.

I've never had a bad meal here. The service is always perfectly attentive, we never have too many plates on our table and our drinks never go empty. The customer definitely sets the pace for their dining experience. I can never stop by Annata and not order a cheese plate. I get something different every time and I'm never disappointed. Try everything they put on a cheese plate, it brings out the flavors of everything. And I PROMISE you will not be disappointed if you get the gnocchi mac and cheese. Otherwise, go crazy and enjoy.

As soon as I sat down I said to my friend, I would love a bar in a future home I own to look like this with maybe fewer glasses to which she replied, "but if you had this many glasses, you would not need to wash them as much". Well played, Elise. Well played. I gave it two stars due to ambiance and excellent service at the bar. The disappointing food weighed as heavily on my review as the Truffle Gnocchi Mac and Cheese did on my stomach. I was so excited to try this place as I love, love, love a good wine bar. They do not take reservations, which I am also a huge fan of as I believe it levels the playing field for those who either are spontaneous or do not always have the time to be planners. It pains me as I write this because I was hoping all of my love would meet in one place. It is a place I might (and that is an optimistic might) return for a glass of wine but would not eat at again. Here is why: I had the burrata, which came served over tomatoes with pesto and balsamic reduction. The burrata, pesto, and balamic were alright but the tomatoes were bad. Mealy and squishy, gushy. They fell apart when I touched them with a fork. I understand they do not grow the tomatoes in the back yard but the entire dish, even without the tomatoes, was a C -. I shared the gnocchi with my friend and while it is listed as a small plate, we were lucky to share it because it was extremely heavy (the bartender referred to it as a finishing move because it will make you full and be the last thing you eat) and pretty flat, or "one note" as Tom Colicchio says. Next course was Sauteed Wild Mushroom, Heirloom Tomato, Ricotta, Quail Egg, and Truffle Oil flat bread. The name is false advertising as this flat bread has many of my favorite things implying a home run but it was unpleasant and I do not believe qualifies as a successful bunt. The mushrooms were really thick, hard, and chewy. I would guess they were not cooked based on the flavor but they could be overcooked based on the consistency. The ricotta was barely existent and the quail eggs were not gooey enough to save this dry dish. I did not detect truffle oil in texture or taste. Finally, was the ricotta cheesecake. The presentation was off-putting for those who eat with their eyes. They garnish it with walnuts that are swollen and tasteless. They slice them so they look like either strange olives or browned jalapenos. Worst ricotta cheesecake I have ever had. It was described by the bartender as airy. Airy as a brick. Ugh. It made me want to fly all the way to RI just to go to La Masseria for theirs so that my last experience with ricotta cheesecake is what I dream of, not something that I would never eat again under any circumstances. I am so bummed!

Another wistful moment of wishing I could award a 6th star! The owners of Mazzaro's market outdid themselves with the flavors, ambiance and service provided in this hip St. Pete favorite. A couple days later and I am STILL licking my lips from the most delicious meatballs I may have ever eaten and they were chicken picatta "meat'balls too! Do not miss this place when you are in the area and then be sure to go to their local market just a short drive away and pick up all the ingredients to make their delightful food at home.

Annata hits it out of the park in every measurable way. A perfect date night experience. Incredible food (the gnocchi mac & cheese and sweet potato gnocchi were sublime). It runs toward the pricier side, close to a hundred+ dollars for two people with drinks. But the value is evident in the AMAZING food and service. I'm not a big wine drinker, so I appreciated the decent beer selection (the grapefruit hefeweizen was heavenly). Dress code is a mix. I saw people dressed to the nines, and folks in shorts and flip flops. It feels like a dressier place, but Florida style. Stellar! Will visit again!

Best cheese & charcuterie board I've ever had. Great wine selection and desserts, too! Really enjoyed our date night here. Would definitely come back.

Run here for restaurant week. Go. Now. I found out that tampa bay restaurant week runs until June 21st. My sister looked at all the restaurants and chose which menus she liked the best. I then cross referenced that list with yelp ratings and voila, Annata was the top choice. I am so glad that it was, because this was a spectacular meal. We called ahead to find out if the restaurant week menu was for all day, not just dinner. When we found out it was we hightailed it over there a little after noon on a Sunday. Definitely not a popular time for a wine bar, but by the time we left, which was around 1:30 p.m. there were a couple more tables filled. The decor of this place is super cute. I love the chairs, which have a gorgeous grey pattern and are really comfortable. I joked to my sister that I wanted to buy the chairs for our dining room. The restaurant week menu is pretty extensive. It really gives you the chance to sample a lot of things. And at $30 a couple, I would say it gives you the best bang for your buck out of the restaurant week choices. After the meal, I wouldn't have been upset if they charged $30 per person! But remember, this is a wine bar, so that's probably where your money will be going. I got the Baby Kale Caesar and my sister tried the Baby Arugula. Out of the two I would say go for the Baby Arugula salad. It had a sweet dressing. However, you really can't go wrong with either choice. We chose 3 cheeses for our second course. I don't eat pork, and, unfortunately, all the meat choices came from pigs. The Robiola was my favorite. It had such a creamy texture to it. The Lagrein was good too. The cheese plate came with an array of other side items, like honey, nuts, olives, jam, etc. It was beautifully displayed and the flavors went well together. For our third course we had the truffle mac and cheese gnocchi and the lamb ragu. The gnocchi was absolutely delicious. How have other restaurants not started to serve this yet?! I loved the density of the potato instead of having noodles. The lamb ragu was good too, but to be honest, I would have probably taken two servings of the gnocchi. By this point we were stuffed so we had to take home half of our third course. The dessert was basically a cinnamon covered crisp with an orange drizzle and salted caramel gelato. It was amazing. That was the perfect ending to the meal. It had that salty and sweet thing going on that I love. I ordered the Lander-Jenkins, but they mistakenly brought me the NxNW. No harm done since the NxNW paired well with the food as well. They also brought us some wine to taste, which was a very nice touch. This place definitely makes a wonderful date night, or a fun girls night. I would highly suggest it for anyone looking for a laid back evening out.

Mazzaro's has hit it out of the park and it's about damn time! This is literally my wet dream of a restaurant. If you are into charcuterie boards and wine, this needs to be your next dining experience. My wife and I did the pick seven board for $25 and it's a pretty generous portion. We added a flat bread to the order and it was the perfect amount of food. As for the wine, we went out on a limb and ordered the Lambrusco di Sorbara, a sparkling red wine. It was fantastic! The entire experience was under $100. Whether you live in St Pete or not, make the trip.

What a great place for cheese and meats and wine! We started with crostini which had smooth ricotta cheese on the bottom with tomatoes and pesto for a great spread. We had a wonderful selection of cheese and meats with an interesting selection of tasty nuts, honey, etc to go with them. It was quite a spread and people walking by were looking! We wanted to try the small plates but we're full. I guess we'll be back!

This place is amazing! Perfect for a date night, or an upscale happy hour with friends. If you love good food, you must try this restaurant. The service is attentive and nice, the wine list is impressive, and WOW the food will blow your mind. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. The steak tartare with quail egg is better than Bern's. My wife loved the gnocchi and white truffle oil. But undoubtedly, the meat and cheese board stole the show. Beautiful presentation and so much variety, plus there were black walnuts, fruit pates, fresh honey, and more.

FAVOLOSO!!! For starters...I ended up here by accident with one of my best girlfriends because the fireworks for the 4th of July were rained out and let me just tell you...this was the place to be!! Our waiter was Justin Grimm...and it was definitely NOT a grim experience. He helped us select our meats and cheeses and was knowledgable about all of them. Also helped us in pairing the spreads so that our pallets wouldn't be overwhelmed. The atmosphere in here was enough to win me over! The exposed brick...lighting...the CHAIRS...something straight out of HGTV!! After my first bite...I simply needed to have a moment of silence to thank the Italian gods for introducing such amazing food to us Americans! So forget fireworks...it was all about foodworks tonight!!!

Our first time at Annata and we had a great experience we went in for happy hour and stayed for dinner and dessert!! We sat at the bar and Chris the bartender was wonderful!! If you have not tried out this restaurant yet you should!! They have great happy hour specials, and the food was amazing!! We started off with appetizers and had the flat bread and the cheese and charcuterie board. Next we ordered the scallops and the prime angus tartare! The dessert was amazing as well!!

Hands down one of the best wine bars in downtown St. Pete! The many different selections of wine are amazing and unique. We enjoyed being educated on the different wines and locations of where the wines come from. We absolutely love the decor and the staff are very knowledgeable. The food is amazing! We enjoyed the flatbreads and the meat/cheese boards. Great place to go!

I have been waiting for Annata to open for a long time, knowing it was owned by mazzaro's I knew it would be great. Visited yesterday, found two. Seats at the bar. The place looks great. It is small and they do not have outdoor seating yet, but if there is a wait it would be worth it. The bartenders are great, have is tastes IOC several wines and we settled on a sparkling Italian wine. The menu is perfect. The charcuterie platter is awesome, and you can pick your meats and cheeses. We ordered that and the crostini sampler. We wanted to try more, but the bartender said to wait until after our order arrived. Thankfully we listened since what we ordered was plenty. I cannot wait to go back and sample more. The wines are reasonably priced, good craft beer selection. This is definitely an adult place. This place did not disappoint. Was just what I expected. Our bill ran around $80, including the good and a $50 bottle of wine. Love this place!!

Annata was so amazing I'm already thinking about my next visit. I'm a big fan of wine so clearly that was a huge draw for me. They have an extensive list of wines and all at varying prices which is helpful. We tried the Pali Pinot Noir which was delicious. You can also get wine flights if you want to try multiple. Now the food. This place really knows how to use truffle oil. I mean, the truffle mac and cheese was literally the best mac and cheese I've ever eaten-- this from someone who's not even really a mac and cheese person. They also serve bread with truffle butter and a balsamic glaze to get you pumped for the actual food you're going to order. It worked for me :) The small plates are perfect for sharing. We also ordered the mussels which are made with blue cheese so the sauce is a different consistency than standard mussel dishes but loved it just the same. Chris was our server, and he was very attentive and made some helpful suggestions for ordering as well. He made sure to come by and refill our wine glasses throughout the meal too. An easy five stars!!

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at Annata. The service is always above and beyond. I always sit at the bar when I eat here and the bartenders are so knowledgeable about all the food and wine that it blows my mind. I can tell them what I'm in the mood for and they never fail to impress. Sarah was our most recent bartender and she was really awesome. She had amazing cheese recommendations. And she informed us of the great happy hour. I'm a huge fan of Mazzaros so I knew the food here would be unbelievable. It didn't fail to impress. Easily one of the best restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area.

So I really like this wine bar, I've been here twice, the second day they opened and just recently. Both times the service was great, the first visit the co-owner or manager did a great job checking on tables and worked on making sure everyone had a great experience, They have a great selection of wines but hopefully in the near future they will do tasting or flights so customers can try various wines rather than having to buy a full glass and possibly not liking it, I'm sure they will since they are a wine bar. The pours are ok, I would say just average. As for the food, the truffle popcorn is to die for especially if you like truffle, I had a bite of the scallop dish because I don't like seafood but it was actually good. I think my favorite thing s was the charcuterie board. The cheese and meats were great and I loved the accompaniments on the board, This is definitely something I will get every time I go. My only suggestion would be to serve it with a more rustic bread but other than that it's a winner. Great place over all .

Service: Absolutely the best we've ever had. Sarah gave us excellent advice on wine choices and the conversation was lovely. Food: We had the Crostini (basil pesto, ricotta, and sun-dried tomato.) DELICIOUS. Next up, sweet potato gnocchi with pancetta. TO DIE FOR. Finally, chicken and kale ravioli. WOW. I simply cannot describe how delicious and perfectly cooked (and presented) the food was. Ambiance: Subdued and just perfect for conversation. Simply cannot say enough good things. I hope they liked us as much as we liked them, because we'll be regulars now. :)

What could have been a good meal here was entirely ruined by the wait staff, and on an evening with half the tables empty. The quality of the meat and cheese boards will not be enough to ever lure us back. First, our server took about 10 minutes to stop and take our drink orders, despite him only appearing to have, at most, 3-4 tables. He and the manager(?) conspicuously spent most of their time at a neighboring table, presumably due to it being a party of 4 and ordering wine by the bottle. When we did receive drinks, the wine was acceptable, but the water tepid and ice-free. He also made it a point to "playfully" mock our lack of knowledge about the owner's meat market. I don't go to comedy shows to be heckled, and I don't go to restaurants to have my local knowledge questioned. We ordered a charcuterie board, a flatbread, and a crostini. Our server specifically asked us if we would like to wait until the charcuterie was finished before placing our hot food orders in the kitchen. We were very clear, and he understood and confirmed verbally, that we did NOT want him to wait (the kitchen was closing in half an hour) and that he should put all the items in at once and bring them as they were ready. A half hour goes by, the charcuterie is finished, and we still have not received our two items, which should have been out from the kitchen 20 minutes ago. Our server comes by to ask if "We would like anything from the kitchen, as it is closing shortly." I reply, "Only those items which we've already ordered," and receive a nod in return. Another 15 minutes goes by and the kitchen is closed. Our food is nowhere to be found. Our server comes to ask if we want the check. I say no, we'd like our meal first, and receive a quizzical look. I then have to remind him that he has either ignored or forgotten most of our order. I try to tell him we don't even want it anymore, it's been too long and dinner has settled, but he rushes off to put it in anyway, temporarily re-opening the kitchen. After another 10 minutes, our flatbread that we no longer want arrives, and NO CROSTINI. I ask where the Crostini are and he again seems confused, then suddenly seems to remember. He says it's too late and I say "Fine, I no longer want it." We are disinterested in the flatbread, which is merely "OK". Where this ventures into 1-star territory is when our server returns to lie to us about how our order was missed. He serves us up a story about how "They don't ever put hot food orders in until the cold food is done, because so many people want to cancel after the charcuterie." I have never cancelled, nor seen anyone else cancel, an item once ordered at a restaurant in my entire life. As a keen observer of humanity, I can see he is clearly lying. Further, it entirely contradicts his own statements from earlier in the dinner, and our specific request to do exactly the opposite which he acknowledged earlier. He also begins to pawn some of the blame off on the neighboring table for being demanding; a claim I saw no evidence of. Later in the conversation, he slips up and admits off-hand "our order slipped his mind" confirming he was indeed lying. It must have been tough to keep up with 3-4 tables at once. We will not be back, nor recommending this restaurant.

We really loved Annata when we went. We had high expectations given our love of Mazzaros, and we weren't disappointed. The cheese and wines were the highlight of our meal. Ambience is awesome, though the lack of reservations and parking difficulty are a bummer. The only thing that was disappointing was the flatbread. Wonderful addition to St. Pete....only wish they would expand to Tampa!

I had walked past here many times on my way to other places on Beach Drive and finally had the opportunity to try it. Absolutely loved it. Split a flat bread (huge--enough for 4 people if you are doing multiple plates), the truffle gnocchi Mac and cheese (also good sized portion for 2 people), and a Caesar salad (split between 2 people). That was more than enough food for my friend and I. Our wine selections were also fantastic. Sat outside on a perfect night. Inside was adorable, though with live music. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back and this may easily become one of my new favorite spots!

Bait and switch! Went in for Restaurant Week because their menu looked good. I knew what i was going to order. We get in, order some wine (decent selection) and then we find out that they don't have the lamb dish which was the only non-pasta (carbs) dish on the RW menu. I asked the waitress if they would substitute for anything else. NO. So now i am stuck with ordering mediocre overpriced small plates and paying twice as much as planned for half as much food. And missing out on the opportunity to enjoy the Restaurant Week menu at a place that actually deliver what they have promised. Very disappointing! Did not expect that from a Mazzarro spin off.

If you like wine and a fantastic cheese and charcuterie board, you have to visit Annata. The almonds and olives that they give you on the board are to die for. It's by far the best cheese plate I have had in all of Tampa Bay. I crave this place! The robiola cheese is my absolute favorite, never have I had any thing I didn't like here. I also love the fact that you can get wines like Caymus by the glass here. No corkage fees if you order a bottle unlike a certain snobby market that happens to have a winebar nearby. Pictured also, the truffle popcorn, the 69 Pinot noir sparkling, and a wine the sommelier gave us a sample of that was fantastic. They will let you sample just about anything. I had to take a picture of the bottle so I could remember it. This is my favorite downtown St. Pete spot for wine. I almost feel like I shouldn't review it, because it's getting busier and busier! Stay away, this place is all mine! ;)

I was here recently on a Friday night with a few girlfriends. The location is awesome and the atmosphere is lovely.it's conducive to girls who actually want to go out and talk to each other.I like the more upscale crowd. The waitstaff was above average but not stellar. At a few points in the night it did feel like some of the waiters were watching our table but I'm not sure it's because they kind of made friends with one of my friends ( she frequents the place). I can't say they were not friendly because they were but it was just kind of odd. Our wine came out promptly as did our food. Our waiter did a great job of describing the appetizers. We did the pick seven chaturie (spelling ?). The plate was almost too pretty to eat but the portions were very small for what you get. The wine list was extremely respectable but not out of this world. I did respect the fact that most of the wines were available by the glass. They had wine as cheap as $7 a glass. My 2009 Pinot noir was $13 a glass. It's a Great place to meet up with your girlfriends or for a date. In other reviews people complained about the fact that there are homeless people out there asking for money. Unfortunately a lot of Beach Drive is like that on Friday and Saturday nights. The homeless people know where to find the rich people and try to get their attention. You just have to ignore them it's part of living in the city. I'll be back.

This place is awesome. It is owned by Mazzaro's so you know they can't go wrong with this restaurant. It is a nice atmosphere. A modern Decour with comfy seating with cool music rounds out the ambience. We only came in for drinks today but everyone we know has always raved their reviews about this restaurant. The service was great and fast. We ordered the truck on gnocchi and cheese and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. And I am very picky about my macaroni and cheeses. We also ordered the short rib on the polenta cake with mascarpone and chive. That was also very tasty. I can't wait to come back next week and try more!

Annata is a pleasant and welcome change from the typical in downtown St Pete. I find quite a few popular spots downtown lacking because they are more about the setting than the food, but Annata seems to break the mold. While the setting is modern and chic (but with a somewhat odd pub feel to it), there was a sincere focus on the meal, with carefully crafted and paired dishes with a great, but somewhat pricey wine list. Overall -- When you combine food, wine, setting and presentation well you get something akin to art and Annata just about hits the mark. This is a new fav in St Pete. Well done. I would say, if you have dined at the phenomenol Purple Pig in Chicago, you may find similarities in food richness and offerings. The atmosphere -- It was a pleasant night and we dined outdoors typical on Beach Drive. We did check out the inside scene, and it was nicely lit but noisy for a relaxing dinner and a bit 'pubby' feeling. A lot of energy and a great place for groups, but outside was better for a date. The clientele -- Upscale, small groups and couples dressed for evening. Younger people as well as the Tommy Bahama condo set. The food -- The food was great. Very rich, flavorful, and well-presented. The charcuterie plates are a focus of the restaurant, and ours was delicious. We picked a variety of meats and cheeses and they came paired with cornichons, honey, spicy mustard, apricots, and more. Absolutely perfect pairing and generous selection of each item. We also went with the lamb ragu and the duck breast. The lamb was good, flavorful, and spot on but definitely on the heavy side (especially after the charcuterie board). The duck was definitely a great Fall dish, with a smokey flavor accentuated by the cherry port reduction and pistachios. Everything was quite good. For the two of us, we found ourselves stuffed after the 5-selection charcuterie board and one small plate each. Wine -- We had a bottle of Bordeaux and it was a great classic oaky French wine (La Grange). Perfect for the meal. Here is where I take a little offense though -- The wine list is not cheap. Bottles start at maybe 45-ish and go up from there. . . Certainly there must be a few worthy but lower priced bottles out there that could be added to the menu. Service -- Chris was one of the best waiters we've run across in St Pete. We never wanted for anything, and he seemed genuinely concerned that our meal was excellent. He is a great waiter. The verdict -- Go, it's a great night out. This is a wonderful change from Chilean Sea bass, New York Strip and fish tacos served everywhere else.

Annata uses only the best. The cuts of meat on the charcuterie board are fantastic. You get to pick between 3, 5, or 7 items on your board. While the meats and cheeses shined on their own, the plate wouldn't be complete without all of the accompaniments which were phenomenal. Cornichons, Mustards, Local honey, quince paste, and nuts make everything better :). I love a good steak tartare, but I'm usually sad when a tiny tablespoon of beef shows up to share. Annata once again did not disappoint and a beautifully seasoned and well portioned tartare arrived. I was one happy carnivore. Annata is a wine bar so I should probably mention they have an excellent selection of wines ranging from nice California wines, to old world Italian wines. My first visit I enjoyed a nice rosé, since rosé wines are enjoying a comeback in quality. Every time I've tried the wines I've been happy, and I'm sure you will too! Now go, enjoy yourself.

It seems like a simple concept and what most downtown's already have but St Pete's culinary scene desperately needed Annata. This was my 3rd trip there and everytime has been fantastic. Fantastic small plates, the best charcuterie boards, a really knowledgeable staff, excellent customer service, great management, cozy and warm environment, beautiful lighting and one hell of a winelist. On my last visit, there were nice outdoor seating arrangements which they desperately needed to accomodate how busy they are. My only complaint.... no reservations even for large parties.

Wow! Can I go back every day? We joined friends for dinner and had a wonderful evening. Service was top notch and the food was delicious. We shared a large charcuterie board and had some small plates. Gnocchi Mac and cheese was delicious. The wine selection has plenty of options at different values. We will be back very soon. One of the best spots on Beach Dr!

Why isn't this place around the corner from my house? If it was I would probably be there multiple times a night. If you are into enjoying some cheese, wine and charcuterie and then maybe have a snack or two, then this is the place for you. The short rib is very nice but on the small side, but so flavorful. Remember, get one of the sharing boards and then think of the other things as snacks to finish you off and you will be set. Be sure to ask about the daily pate. They usually have a few and they are a nice treat. The wine list has a number of interesting things and a fair number by the glass if you just want to go that way. We went on Sunday and bottles were deeply discounted. Which allowed us to try something normal out of our price range and it was a great treat. One really neat thing was the dessert board. The chocolate "salami" is inspired and nicely done. It looks like a little blood salami, all dark and rich, but the "fat" are nuts and the darkness is of course from the chocolate. A little powder sugar on the outside, looks like casing. It is lovely and tasted so good! Your eyes are telling you one thing but when you bite into it you are thinking a really good chocolate cookie sort of thing. Plus some fresh berries and some good blue cheese and this is a really nice way to end a great night. Can't wait to go back, but also need to plan on a sunday so I can try some other high end wine.

This place is awesome!!! I love their selection of food! The mac and cheese truffle gnocchi is a must! The lovely blonde bartender (sorry I can't remember her name) was awesome! She gave us great suggestions on wine and even let us try several before we bought a bottle. She was very attentive! The atmosphere is great and perfect for a girls night out. I've been here twice and sat both inside and out. I've moved from St. Pete but every time I go back home this place is always on my list of a place to go to!

First off, I was never a huge cheese guy, i was never introduced to it properly so i was ignorant to the realm. Me and my girl went here for dinner one night. The place was packed so we waited by the bar and had a few drinks. We waited like 25 mins, in the time of waiting the bar tenders were super helpful and super nice. Also a kitchen staffer came by and asked if we needed anything. 5 mins later the same kitchen staffer came by and offered us some samples of prosciutto, because we were waiting for a bit. That was excellent and a very nice gesture. When we sat the waitress was unbelievably helpful. From cheese knowledge to pairings of wines with anything else you ordered on the menu. She always came back to see if everything was ok, and was super nice. Thanks, Alex. Food was beyond awesome, very flavorful and presented great. We got the aged chorizo and two cheeses to start. Awesome! A flatbread as well, do it! And the truffle gnocchi mac and cheese. I have to say was the best mac and cheese i ever had in my life. And i have had alot of different mac and cheeses at alot of different places. The restaurant was clean and very cool atmosphere. Staff was super nice, the manager or whoever he was that was running food and helping out around the place came over mid way through our meal and asked if everything was good. I cant say enough. One of the best dining experiences in St. Pete i had in a looong time. I live here and i have been to all restaurants on beach drive and this one takes the cake, by a long shot. The prices are very decent compared to the quaility of food that you are recieving as well. This is also a great place to stop at to get a drink and an app before you hit another place for full course, but the food is so good you will probably just stay and eat here. Stop reading this review and go.

My husband and I went there last Friday for our date night. We were very lucky to find seats at the bar as this place was very busy, even at 6pm. It was a pleasant surprise that we got a little nibble just for sitting at the bar. There was two manus: one for wines and one for food. We ordered charcuterie (choice of 5) and lamb ragu to split. Meats and cheeses were delicious. Little "additions" to those (marmalade, nuts, mustard, olives, etc.) helped to bring out more flavors. Bread and cracked were very good too. We ordered rose to drink. Lamb ragu came out hot and scrumptious. Very filling, as well. We had a fantastic time and will be back soon.

Annata's is a great wine bar on Beach drive. There cheese and charcuterie plate is excellent, however, this should be expected with the association with Mazzarro's. No have not had everything but some of the highlights from the menu in my opinion are the Mac and cheese gnocchi, truffle popcorn and scallops and the spare ribs. The service here is great Lyndi was top notch, with some great recommendations. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is for a wine bar I would like to see a few more reds by the glass or even a rotational selection of wines. Great spot to go solo, bring a date or even a small group 4-6 people. Just a note it can get busy on Fri and Sat.

The best place to relax, get a glass of wine, any of their menu items is just right for me, my favorite though is the flat bread with the mushrooms. Sit out doors, weather permitting, and watch the world go by.

I really want to give this restaurant 5 stars because the food & wine were nearly perfect. But I had to ask for more bread, more wine & more water. Our waiter was sincerely friendly but he was pulled in too many directions. His co-workers were inattentive and busy talking to each other. One waitress was less than one foot away from our table & she poured water for her guests and she failed to see that we had no water. One other small irritant was when I asked for salt they brought me a grocery store container that seemed so tacky for such fine quality restaurant. Still the food was excellent & I loved the wine suggested by our waiter.

Had a delightful evening with son and wife. Classy place overlooking teh park and bay, with choice of indoor or outdoor tables/booths. Interior was very tastefully done with impressive bar and stylish furniture. As expected from a Mazzzoli-created eaterie, the food was wonderful and excellent wine/beer list. Great start with the truffle popcorn with wines, then shared a charcuterie board with nice mix of sausage and cheese. Really enjoyed the soppressata and pheasant pate, with tangy mustard and sauces . Small plates were adequate for a complete dinner when shared. Loved the truffled gnocchi/cheese and steak tartare. Ate our fill and had leftovers. A musical couple on keyboard and vocal provided non-obtrusive entertainment, and out waitress was the best I can recall....prompt, informed, good-natured and attentive without hovering. Sorry did not get her name, but fairly short with long dark hair. All elements combined to give us a fine evening.

Great wine list and food was excellent. Stefani and Justin went the extra mile to make sure our meal was enjoyable. Charcuterie board was awesome! Slightly on the pricey side as it was tapas style so it adds up quickly. Definitely recommend.

Celebrated our daughter's high school graduation here. They have the best meat and cheese tray in town! All of our server's recommendations were great. Looking forward to going back!

Food = Perfect Beer = Perfect Wine = Perfect Atmosphere = Perfect My new favorite place in St. Pete. I literally have nothing slightly negative to say about this place. You'll spend some cash but it's worth every penny.

  • Marley C.

This was wonderful! I want to say that it isn't really a traditional "dinner" place was the menu has cheese/meats, salads, and "Small Plates" that are like appetizers. Our waiter was super-helpful in describing and choosing our cheese/meat plate. It was amazing! I couldn't even tell you the names but one was a blue, one was a brie, one was a provolone with hints of garlic and cherries! They were paired with fig jelly, honey, olives, almonds, mustard, and dried apricots. We also got a smoked bruschetta and some kind of salami. (They had fancy names but I wasn't paying that much attention.) It was definitely a great way to start. Great to talk and casually eat. But if you were HUNGRY, this is not the place to go. Then we split the pan seared scallops that, again, were so delicious. I didn't leave hungry but I can see that you really need to eat two items individually to "fill up."

This is one of my favorite new additions to St. Pete. All the food comes from Mazarro's Italian Market. The meet and cheese boards offer an incredible selection. The flatbreads and small plates are wonderful too. Enough about the food, the wine selection is great. One of the best parts about this place are the servers and bartenders. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive! Don't miss out on this new gem!

I had written a review of this lil gem a while ago based on standard principles of service, drinks, ambiance and the cheese board. I went back there recently to actually enjoy a full on meal, I was not disappointed. They serve a tapaish style meal giving you the ability to choose a larger assortment of dishes to try, which is good at a place like this because they have a lot of fun things to try if you are a adventurous foody or simply like to try familiar things prepared in a different way. I suggest having faith in your waiter, I have had two different ones both times and put my faith in them to steer my tastes in The right direction from the cheeses on the cheese board, to wine pairing with my dishes to specific dish choices that are must tries. This place is excellent, one of my favorite higher end spots in st. Pete by far. I would stress again that it is small and they do not take reservations so plan accordingly. You can show up and if there is a wait you can give them your number and either hang out and have a drink or walk around beach drive for a little bit. I would not suggest this as a family outing, but great for dates, double dates, or grabbing some great food and wine with a small group of friends, but it is a must try!

We went on the first day of Restaurant Week...first-2 of the items on the menu were listed incorrectly and then the server was rude ...then the next day, I was sick from something I ate...shame cuz it could be a great place.

Really really lovely little wine bar right on Beach Drive. Great wine selection. The cheeses and meats are delicious and very well presented. Service was outstanding. Best value in a wine bar that I've visited in some time.

I'm amazed at myself that I'm actually changing this since I've always been very impressed with this establishment. Superior customer service. Great wine selection ... In fact between dates, weekend lunches and entertaining business associates here - I've spent $100s if not $1,000s. However after an attempt to stop in tonight. I will never be back. My roommate and I stopped in for dinner... And were told all that was available was outdoor seating because they only had 4-tops available inside. 6 of them to be exact with no wait at all. Had their been a wait or been a rush time - I could understand but when you have 2 willing/able/paying customers and ask them to sit outside when multiple tables are clear - it's absurd. Not to mention that 4 of your servers and host were just causally lounging at the front of the restaurant ... Clearly needing something (I don't know ... maybe a table to serve?) to do. Thanks. But no thanks Annata. I'll take my money elsewhere. Like maybe... Sea Salt with a far better staff/menu/level of service.

My husband and I are from the West coast and we were so happy to find Annata! Finally a place that knows how to do tapas and wine! We have been to Ceviche and a few other places that were awful and this place was SO MUCH BETTER! The wine list is fantastic, the food is high quality, the location is great, and the prices are very reasonable considering how nice the food and service are. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing and the bar area is beautiful. We have come here many times and never been disappointed. Highly Recommend!

If there's a better wine bar in the area, I've never heard of it. This place really exceeded my expectations. We ordered the lamb Ragu, burrata, truffle flatbread, and my favorite, the bone marrow. I was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes. They were much larger than I expected and very fairly priced considering you know it's fresh and most likely made in house being that they are owned by Mazzaro. Lamb and Flatbread slightly under seasoned but I'm just knit picking at this point. Great selection of wines and craft beers. $18 for Caymus by the glass?! That's unheard of. Service was attentive, knowledgable and professional the whole time. Looking for good wine and food? This is the place. Well done.

We went here based on good reviews. We started with a flatbread which was good. But the dinner plates we ordered (grouper & short ribs) were very bland. Service was excellent, If you go here - stick to the cheese boards and flatbreads.

Have been here three times and brought friends who were so impressed they went back the next night and ordered the same dishes. The food is creative and expertly prepared. I've enjoyed every one of the many small plates I've tried. The flatbreads are standouts -- the one with mushrooms and quail eggs is incredible! I'm not a big charcuterie fan, so will leave that to others to comment on. The wine list is very nice and not all that pricey. I love it when I go out and discover a new wine, which was the case here. It's a little noisy inside, but quieter on the patio. This seems like one of those place you go back to regularly -- not so much a special occasion place as a dependable and comfortable destination.

The food and atmosphere were good but the portions are entirely too small for the price. Shrimp Skewer was 3 average sized shrimp for $12. No.

Lindy our server was so wonderful with descriptions about food and wine, and went out of her way with special treatment. The food was so delicious it is hard to describe. Others recommended the lamb papparadelle and so do we! You can't go wrong with any selection. Enjoy.

This place has all the charm of a lovely evening - very good food, (small plates & superb charcuterie) ambiance and a warm and inviting interior. Very beautiful. BUT when it is crowded - which is every time i have been - it is SO loud. This is something i am noticing more and more in restaurants and it really does impede the overall experience. This is an almost perfect date place or just a night out with friends kind of place...it has a very special vibe to it and the walk along beach drive has to be part of it all...but really, the noise is a big turn off. Wine list - very good as well.

  • Heydy S.

Of course you cant expect anything less than amazing wine and food from this place. The service was outstanding. The only downside I give it, is that it is a bit pricey for what you get. So the charcuterie of 7 items, there were 3 small pieces of each cheese. The meats were a little bit better, but i would think that big one wouldn't be enough for more than 3 people. The wine prices are pretty much the same for the wines.. If offered by the glass, most likely $10. Most bottles $50. Definitely a great place to go chat, but don't go if you're very hungry.

Fantastic first visit! Extensive wine list that gives you the option of having a glass from one of those "expensive" wines normally sold by the bottle. Truffle popcorn is delicious and quite savory! Inside is very cozy and updated. Service is polite and timely. Def ask for Katie! She knows her wine and is eager to educate and give pairings. We came late and she was very accommodating and gracious. Live music on a Monday night - fantastic! Who doesn't enjoy a nice piano or vocalist? A lovely treasure to have on Beach Dr.

Wine & Shine Annata, owned by the same folks as Mazzaro's Italian Market, is a great addition to Beach Drive. There are some nice sidewalk tables as well as pleasant seating inside. The servers are knowledgeable and helpful. There is a lengthy list of wines by the glass as well as bottles. Wines by the glass allow you to try a few different selections. The menu has also been thoughtfully created to accompany the wines. We had the speck flatbread with was delicious. Also very nice is the charcuterie plate. There is a nice selection of meats and cheeses and you have the option to pick 3, 5 or 7 items. All charcuterie plates come with a selection of nuts, dried fruit, honey, etc. This is all great for sharing. I've been to Annata twice now and each visit was great.

Annata is a part of the world famous Mazzaro's empire. It's an Enoteca which is an Italian wine bar much like a tapas bar with small plates for sharing. Everything on the menu is great, prices a reasonable, and portions are generous. You can't go wrong here.

Attended with the wife on 11/11 after much anticipation. I've been a fan and regular of Mazzaro's for years now, so my expectations were SKY HIGH! Alexx was our server and she was beyond pleasant, informative, and friendly. I chose an eclectic earthy red off of their extensive list, only to be disappointed that they were out. Without hesitation there was Alexx with a recommendation of my backup (the exact one I would have chosen anyway). We let her fill our charcuterie board for us, with a wonderful gouda, perfect blue, earthy pate, peppered chorizo, and silky rosemary ham. All spot on, and honest selections. The burrata and heirloom tomato salad was next, and fantastic. Burrata is one of those special treats from the cheese gods that I adore. The lamb ragu with PERFECTLY COOKED papardelle pasta finished our meal accompanied by Alexx's suggestion of a rich, earthy Bourdeaux. The food was even better than I expected it to be, and that says a lot because Mazzaro's is a staple in my peer group. The 5 star rating today is due to Alexx. I dare say that she was perfect, being everything I look for in a server and then some. The next time I come to Annata (I'll be bringing my mother), I will demand to have Alexx as my server, and will happily wait to do so. Cheers to you Annata! Wonderful food, wonderful ambiance, and a wonderful eye for talent in your serving staff!

Aside from very interesting ambiance that gets more interesting as the night progresses and the fact that it is dog friendly, the menu is boring, uninspired and seemingly comes from a box in the back of the kitchen. However the biggest disappointment is the "rubber" slices of bread that shame the good name of delicious crusty bread rightfully earned by Mazzaro's. How hard can it be to make toast?

Unfortunately I am not able to rate this place. As pumped up as I have been to enjoy this new establishment I left very disappointed. On a nice Wednesday evening around 7pm I and a friend entered the almost empty restaurant and asked for a bistro table to be informed by the hostess she could not seat us at a high top because the high tops seat 4. (There were 3 or 4 empty bistro tables and 5 or more 2 tops) She continued to state the fact that they are for parties of 4. I requested to speak to the manager who also refused to seat us at a bistro table and insisted we sit at a small table for two. Mind you, there were only maybe 8 guests in the place and 2 or 3 outside at which point we chose to go elsewhere to enjoy the evening. Your loss was our new find... Thank you!

We are In town for a concert and found this place on Yelp! We had Chris as our server and he was EXCEPTIONAL. He was incredibly educated on all wines and menu items. We let him decide on what cheese and meat to select for our meat and cheese plate and he really knocked it out of the park-perfection!! You could tell he was a server that really enjoyed what he did and was passionate about helping his guests and passionate about the food and wines. If we ever come back, we will most definitely ask to be served by him! The restaurant as a whole was quiet and some of the employees seemed a little snobby and judgmental, but Chis was warm and friendly and really made us feel welcome. Thank you Chris-you made our night!!

Thought the food was over-priced and bland. Service was VERY slow. We started with the cheese board - nice pickles/olives/nuts. Then we shared the arugula salad - coated with gloppy bland thick dressing - and for the price point - not really big enough to share. Next we had the lamb ragu - how do you make a ragu that bland and boring - again - nothing special. Also - for a wine bar - no wine flights to sample? Think this is the emporer's clothes - everyone excited by a new downtown restaurant - but we sure didn't agree.

We had a lovely time over some very nice cheeses and a beautiful glass of Spanish red. The service was professional & fully competent- thank you, Miss Amanda! The charcuterie is the star on this menu for us. It's our thing! Nice to see lots of taste options on the board. We will definitely come again.

St Pete needed a place like this... it was really missing. The flat breads are awesome, specially the one with fig, and the lamb ragu pasta is fabulous. St Pete downtown doesn't have many quality restaurants (not to say none), but this one was a great addition.

A must try on Beach Dr... Loved everything about it. Atmosphere, food, service, menu choices all outstanding! We went on a Friday night at their peak of customers.... We did wait 45 mins to sit at the bar (the place is so small they should ask the customers who are not eating at the bar to let those who are have the seats ) the wine Sarah recommended was perfect, the charcuterie board was GREAT... Meat and cheese selection yummy! We had the lamb ragu.... Loved it. The place is loud and crowded I would recommend getting there early!

Had a great time here and would definitely go back. Great atmosphere, the service was out of control good (our server was incredibly attentive as well as knowledgeable about the wines and foods, and the manager stopped by several times to check in on us as well as to chat - very nice touch!) As we were seated, we were immediately informed, that this restaurant is affiliated with Mazzaro's (which can only mean a good thing!) Ordered a great bottle of Spanish red (and another great Italian later!) and several tapas. The chef sent out a nice little amus bouche (sp): a light cracker with a combo "spread" that had some zing & zang to it! Charcuterie with cheese offerings (we chose 5, I would get 7 next time!), grouper wrapped in zucchini with seafood risotto (got to eat it all together/in one bite, the combination is fabulous), chicken meatballs, Truffled gnocchi mac & cheese and the stuffed chicken breast. I was there with 2 guys, I don't eat meat, and that # of tapas was perfect. I only wish the menu was available online, if it isn't because it's updated often, maybe include a "sample" of the best dishes to give readers an idea what to expect (yes, I know, I know, tapas, but some places have more meat-oriented dishes than others, often making it challenging for me to eat there). This place is really, very well put together. It's tucked away on Beach Drive, near the Hooker Tea Company. I'm looking forward to going back!

Great experience. Arrived Saturday night to a packed house... almost left for a plan B, but the incredibly nice hostess (Rachael, I think) convinced us to stay and try bar seating. Solid service, good wine section, and the charcuterie platter was terrific. This is a great Beach Drive alternative to the full-on dinner. In and out in 45 minutes and very well satisfied.

We were impressed with the wines by the glass menu. Very nice staff attentive and knowledge of wine pairing great. Place is small and noise level high. If you want to chat get a table outside. Grouper rissotto, almonds with herbs, flatbread with mushrooms and quail eggs tasty small plates to share.
