Very delicious food! My friend and I got together here for dinner on sunday, and everything we ordered was awesome. The place may look strange from the outside, but it is very pleasant and clean inside. Our server was very sweet and had great suggestions, and everything came out in a timely manner. I got the chicken kebab off of their specials menu and it came with very aromatic rice and a fresh greek salad, and my friend (vegetarian) got the lentil dish. Both were flavorful and very satisfying! And the garlic naan was awesome to split. I definitely would highly recommend this place.

Love love love their Gyro sandwiches and Gyro Dinner Platter (with rice, veggies, Greek salad and a pita bread). The owners are very friendly and the place is always clean.

We were worried when we saw how few cars were in driveway, but I am glad we took the chance. The Indian food was fabulous. Good service and very clean.

Went for lunch. the kids liked it a little better than they normally like Indian because of the spice being so mild. The samosas were good but that was all. Ordered 3 vegetarian dishes, none really tasted like traditional Indian. And it left me feeling ill (noone else felt sick-there were 4 of us).The place was clean, service fast, staff friendly.

Great Food! Great Service! Great Value! This place is a hidden gem. I was in St Augustine for a couple weeks on business and ate here 3 times. As a vegetarian finding an accommodating restaurant can sometimes be a challenge so when I stopped in to check out there lunch offerings I was happily surprised by my options. The food was consistently very tasty, the service was surprisingly attentive and it was always clean. I know driving by the lack of visual appeal may be a deterrent but I genuinely believe if you try it out you too will be writing a 5 star review.

This is a new restaurant so we decided to stop in and check them out. We come on a Wednesday night and it was empty. We were seated in their bigger of two rooms immediately. They didn't have urns to make sweet tea at this time, no big deal though because they have Coke products and unsweet tea. The waitress explained the menu really well. For the meal, I ordered their chicken and pepper shish kebab and my boyfriend ordered the hamburger. He loved the burger. Cooked medium-rare perfectly. The lettuce on it was chocked like salad and had a dressing mixed if, making it like a burger and salad all together. It came with fries for only $5.99. Delicious! The chicken kebab came with a pita, a small greek salad, rice, mixed veggies, and a yogurt sauce on the side. I mixed everything together and poured the sauce on top. It was really good, chicken a little dry, but still really good. We'll be going back.

I went in for the gyro (which looked glorious and bountiful!) But opted for the lunch buffet as it was a very reasonable 8.99 and I'm glad I did! It had Indian staples like palak paneer and masala and everything was on the sweet side rather than hot and spicy. I love hot and spicy but I do look forward to bringing friends here who are skeptical about ethnic food. Its like gateway cuisine to a style of food that easily can be overpowering. Don't hesitate bringing friends! They'll love it!

We have been searching for a good Indian restaurant in our area and this popped up and had such good reviews, so we tried it. We were very excited to finally find an Indian restaurant nearby so we didn't have to drive up to Jax! The restaurant is very nice inside (not so much from the outside), very clean, and nicely decorated. It is not the usually Indian restaurant decor nor is the music Indian themed. But enough about that. Most Indian restaurants provide popadom as a FREE "appetizer"...this one charges for it. $1.99 for ONE!!! It tasted good, but was "hard to swallow" at that price!! Both hubby and I ordered the Chicken Tikka Marsala...it had ok flavor but was weirdly sweet. I even heard someone else at another table say the same thing. Portion size was ok with big chunks of chicken. We could not order with a "hotness" level...the lady said it just came "mild". We got garlic naan and onion naan and they were both very good. Even thought there were only three tables with patrons, the service was very slow. So, I suppose we will continue to drive up to Jax when we want Indian food...very disappointed.

Having a culinary background I am extremely particular not only about my food but about the cleanliness of the establishment and this one gets 5 stars on both counts! The food was fresh, prepared carefully and brought to our table by the chef. The hummus was authentic and delicious and the buffet (I am NOT a fan of buffets) was great! The staff is very helpful and friendly and they made the visit a pleasant one. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I went to Mediterranean Shish-Kebab Restaurant this past week for our anniversary for their Indian buffet. I am sad to say this was not Indian food nor was it a great buffet. I have eaten a Indian buffet before and this did not even come close. Their Tandoori chicken was not red from being cooked in a brick oven. I was totally disappointed because I had read reviews before I went. When I asked for naan bread I was given pita bread!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't be fooled,

Don't be afraid of the Indian Buffet! So good! I usually get the Gyro Kabob Sandwich which is second to none. This time, I decided to live a little, and couldn't have been more pleased! I tried as much as I could fit... And I'm so stuffed I could cry. Such good food! Great friendly service. Can't wait to come back!

Wow! I'm very impressed with the food . I just recently moved to saint Augustine and I've to say is the first time I'm eating great in a restaurant. Everything is made from scratch at the restaurant including the pita bread..yeah! I was surprised. The service and food portions was also excellent. Love it!

  • Ian M.

I ate here again today. This time I was with my parents. The service was great and as usual so was the food. The best Gyro I've had and probably the best in St. Augustine. The price was good compared to the portion. Always plenty of meat in the Gyro. The waiter gave our table a free sampling of the Indian buffet, and that too was good. I would recommend this restaurant. Dining room and restroom are always clean.

Absolutely amazing INDIAN food , cooked with love and passion. I have been here a few times before they had the Indian Buffet. It is a very clean and friendly place but the name does not do it justice, as it does not reflect the true nature of the food. I have eaten in many Indian places through out the States and abroad. We are going to be so blessed in St Augustine to finally having an authentic outstanding Indian restaurant. One that serves fresh food locally sourced and making their own ground spices. This place is close to being authentic Indian once they get themselves established. Check it out.

Wife went for lunch and really enjoyed it. Very clean place, polite staff. Many foods are local and/or organic w/o GMO. Lunch buffet is great. BTW: It IS open for dinner. By what I've read, they either need to publicize dinner, or I'm afraid they may lose too much, due to few dinner customers. I would recommend they focus more on lunch, or else consider moving to a more dinner-friendly location. They're open until 8:30. We're going soon. Hope you do, too.

My wife and I have been there 6 times for lunch and dinner. Clean and comfortable. Owners are extremely friendly and attentive. Food on buffet is always hot and delicious. Aroma entering is amazing. Have always wanted to order off the menu but have always had the buffet. Some of best rice pudding I've ever had. Have to look a little to find it, but worth the look. Will definitely go back.

Wow this place is new.... Service is outstanding Food is Yum. You have got to try this place. There is no better place for authentic Mediterranean food! Easy to find ... do not let the outside fool you... This is a family run place ( We love those). Thats right 4 people came by the table to make sure everything was fantastic.. Was everything to your satisfaction? Ummm well yes can I get about four more plates? Can you give a few places around this area service like this? Or food with this much flavor . Do not take my word.. stop by be ready for something that you have not tasted ...Warning do not let your tongue beat your lips to death. And do not drool on the pics..

So now I've tried the beef, chicken and lamb shish kebab. All three are very very good, in increasing order of yumminess. Order these next time you're not in the mood for fast food, because your palate is too damned sophisticated for that mess.

Been here 3 times and every time has been the same - Great service, great food. Staff was very polite and attentive. The food was fabulous. We had the Hummus for an appetizer. It was amazing, I've never had Hummus this good. My husband and I both had the Gyro Kebab. It's by far the best Gyro, I've ever eaten. So good, I order the same thing every time!

My wife and I have eaten here at least twice a month for the past year. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. We used to travel to Jacksonville to satisfy our Indian food cravings but now the buffet at this establishment is our regular spot.

We enjoyed food, we went for buffet since they had limited options for Indian curries, they had spinach chicken and lamb curry both tasted very good, veggie they just had dhal and two other veggie curries not Indian though, they did not have biryAni or goat curry in there menu very limited options so was disappointed. We ordered chicken kebab in kids menu it came wrapped in roti and with fries. They enjoyed fries chicken was bit dry and burnt on sides they did not like it neither did I

Five stars for the Indian food! The "mixed Mediterranean" specialties looked good, too, but I love Indian food and there hasn't been any in St A for a long time. All the veggie ingredients are locally organically grown and hyper fresh. The chef knows India very well and cooks a variety of regional styles (focus on Poori?)which he will explain to you. Great service, nice friendly people and a simple but very prettily decorated place. Highly recommended!

The owners have just added a small Indian buffet inside this Mediterranean restaurant. Yes, that's weird, I agree, but it's really very tasty. I was not impressed the first time I went to this establishment--when I had a felafel plate--but once I discovered they'd added an Indian buffet, and tried it, I was hooked. There are usually 4-5 selections, mostly chicken and veggies, very flavorful. Last week my husband and I went there twice and it was great, both times. Wonderful addition.

Came in on Sunday. Nice decor (love the wall colors) and clean throughout. Very nice people. I chose to have the Indian buffet (Simple shredded lettuce and carrot salad, rice, lentils, mixed veggies, spinach and cheese, lamb stew and chicken with peppers, onion, lemon and spices.) Hubby chose the Chicken Shish Kebob platter (Grilled chicken kebob with veggies, rice and broccoli and a side of yogurt. ) and the Hummus plate (served with tomato, cucumber and kalamata olive garnish and flatbread.) Our little one chose the kids Chicken Kebob (fries and grilled chicken in flatbread.) I quiet enjoyed the buffet. I like Indian food but don't always know what to get. Simple but very delicious. Even the lamb which I have never been a fan of. The hubby said without the yogurt he might not have liked it so much. He was just okay with his choice. The hummus was very different from traditional arabic. It was good but not traditional hummus. Its hard to describe. It was mild and slightly sweet. The son thoroughly liked his grilled chicken and of course fries. Seasoned well and not dry. I was hoping to have naan... which they did not have. Nor pita bread. They serve a soft flat bread with everything. Which is good for the Meditteranian menu but naan is best when having an Indian fix. Overall we really enjoyed our choice for the night. The owners really are attentive and quite friendly. The price is fair with both adults at $11.99 each and kids menu is $6.99

Awesome gyro. Good amount of food for the price and very tasty. The owners were working and so was their daughter who were all pleasant and helpful. I would go back and try more menu items.

9/21/13-Someone's heart and soul is in this place. Lovely family run, immaculate Mediterranean restaurant. Wonderful service, delicious food at extremely reasonable prices. The food is prepared by the owners. It is fresh and not purchased through restaurant supply companies. The dishes are plentiful. Salads are fresh and large. Entrees are good proportions and the desert baklava is HUGE and just like my Greek mom used to make - not too sweet or drippy - just perfect. Beer and wine available. Well worth the visit. They are open 7 days a week.

If you're in town for vacation, with kids, you probably have that cloying taste in your mouth from too much fast food. Mediterranean Shish Kebab house is the cure for that. They have plenty of big people food that you won't find on a chain restaurant menu, in fact the gyro kebab I ordered was the size of my head. The kids menu is small (consisting of chicken, gyro, hamburger and hot dog), but the hamburger my 3-year old ordered was excellent and substantial. What I'm trying to say is he ate a hamburger that wasn't from McDonalds! The entrees can be a bit pricey but the sandwiches are well priced. Me and the kid got out of there under $14 before tip. The service is excellent, and the owners sat us personally.

Hands down my favorite spot in town. Everything from the food to the atmosphere is perfection. I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. I would recommend eating here to anyone. I was especially happy to find out that the Indian buffet uses ORGANIC, FARM INGREDIENTS WITH NO GMO's. so thankful for this restaurant. keep doing what you're doing :)

Step into this combination Middle Eastern and Indian restaurant (who would have thought, right?) for a real treat. The decor is colorful, immaculate, vibrant, yet quite peaceful. The owners are welcoming and gracious. They are solicitous in their service without being intrusive or annoying - like just bringing fresh hot water and chai tea bag when the original one wasn't quite getting there on repeat brewing. The menu is Mediterranean - which we did not sample. The buffet is Indian - which we enjoyed. Not a huge variety (3 vegetable dishes and 2 meat dishes) BUT they were AWESOME. We are vegetarian so the spinach and potato, cauliflower and veg korma and lentil stew(best we have had ANYWHERE) did it for us. There was also rice, bread - made on site and more like a pita but very good, salad and the traditional rice pudding for dessert (included coconut and almonds and was not too sweet - very good). I think it bears mentioning that the chutneys were outstanding. The raita was good. But the mint chutney conveyed the fresh flavors of its ingredients with the right amount of zing. The tamarind chutney was obviously freshly prepared and you could taste the fruit and spices rather than the flat, pasty, tinny taste that it often has. I think the key is that they make smaller batches and replenish the buffet frequently to keep everything fresh. They also welcomed feedback and really seemed to care that we enjoyed our dining experience, even entreating us not to rush and stay beyond closing time to relax - which we didn't, but it was a nice gesture. We were so thrilled to have found this place, previously having to drive to Jacksonville for Indian food, a family favorite from living in a city up north where it is plentiful. Again, the selection wasn't limitless but the dishes were so good, it didn't matter in the least. What more do you need that three solid selections? OUTSTANDING food, atmosphere, service.. We will be back again and again..

Fantastic little gem with authentic Indian foods. The service was fantastic and the food even better. The owner waited on us and was super gracious even allowing my kids to try any of the food at the buffet at no charge. Being from NYC, we miss authentic Indian and Mediterranean food which is difficult to master....we can happily say this place has it!

My family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) ate here on a holiday. It was busy and they were understaffed. HOWEVER! The food was very good. Nice menu selection and authentic offerings and spices. We ordered the Greek salad and three different sandwiches. The sandwiches are huge and filling. We also ordered an appetizer of hummus. Its spices and taste are nothing like what we have made at home or bought at the grocery store, it was better. It was made on the spot and was very good. We ate at lunchtime, so we ordered lunch type items that were very reasonably priced. Although it was busy, it was a nice, quiet, intimate atmosphere. We would eat there again.

A friend and I ate lunch here today. She is a vegetarian and wanted all of the cold apps, so they offered her a platter for 9.99 with all 3 of them. She was happy and said they were all great. We split a spinich pie which was also very good and I had a chicken kabob sandwich, which I ate with a knife and fork because it was so big! We drove by it in passing and turned around and went back and were very happy we did. One table with a couple and child when we arrived right at noon and then three more tables came in while we were there. The place was spotless and you could see into the kitchen which was also spotless. If you like this type of food try it for sure!

Great Shish Kebab and Gyros! This restaurant was a great local find. Tucked away next to the Sherwin Williams paint store it is easy to pass the restaurant without seeing it. We decided to give it a try and were immediately impressed. For starters, the restaurant is VERY clean, and the decor was pleasant. We went at lunch time and everyone in the restaurant said hello to us which is nice. We were greeted quickly by our server who had a good grasp of the menu items and he was willing to offer some suggestions. I had the Chicken Shish Kebab and my wife had the Chicken Gyro, we also split a Greek salad. It sounds somewhat boring and safe but when we receive the food...WOW!. The marinated chicken on the Kebabs was amazing, the vegetables had great flavor and the pita melt in your mouth soft. There was a salad on top of the meal so we really didn't need to add the Greek salad, but I'm glad we did. The chicken gyro and tzatziki were also incredible with fantastic flavor. Both dishes were very filling, but not overly so. This will definitely become a regular lunch spot, and looking at the dinner menu I can tell you we will be back soon for that. If you are looking for something different, that tastes great and is reasonably priced, in a clean, friendly environment, you need to go to Mediterranean Shish Kebab.

I had the falafel sandwich and was very pleased. The bread was warmed and the spices were just right. The service was very fast but that is to be expected when there is only one other party there. I was there a little early on a Friday night though. This place never seems to be busy and I think that is a shame because the food and service are excellent. The only downside is the location, which is on a busy highway across from car dealerships and a mall.

Lamb Shish Kebab was awesome! I was craving some Doner Kebab which is what I usually had in Turkey and this place cured my cravings! Very delicious and the owners were very friendly and attentive. Their falafel appetizer was outstanding and bursting with flavor! Definitely a great find!

I've been meaning to try this place since moving here a few months ago. Finally came in for gyro and ending up eating from the Indian buffet instead. The food was uniformly excellent, and even though we were serving ourselves the service was very attentive. A new favorite. I plan to come back often.

  • James P.

Absolutely wonderful food and very thoughtful service. We were encouraged to sample the food from the buffet for free, however, when we saw shish kebabs and gyros delivered to an adjacent table we just had to try them ourselves. The beef kebabs were superb - cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely then served on a bed of basmati rice. The gyro was stuffed full of meat and veggies and the pita bread was hot and fresh. We will visit again soon to try the other menu items!

My wife and I were in St. Augustine for the day and were looking for somewhere to eat a late lunch/early dinner. We checked Yelp and saw that this place was highly rated, so decided to give it a try. The place didn't look like much from the outside, but inside it was very clean and bright. More importantly, the food was fantastic! My wife had the stuffed flounder and says it is the best she has ever had. I had a gyro. We also had falafels and hummus. Everything was superb and the price was very reasonable. The people working here were also very friendly. Next time we're in St. Augustine we will definitely eat here again.

Spectacular food, sterile decor, wonderful service. Thanks to my Yelp app, we chose to drive to this spot for greek food vs. the over hyped tourists locations in downtown Saint Augustine. Obviously I'm glad we did. Giant portions that were matched by the savory flavors of the food. Prices were reasonable as well ($12.99 for the most expensive entree). They are hidden off of US 1, across from the Ponce Mall. On Saturday night, only 3 tables were seated including ours, so I hope they do massive lunch business or else they will be facing hard times. If you are in Saint Augustine, you have to eat here.

Super delicious! Went with a friend at about 6pm on a Tuesday night and the place was empty except for us, what a shame! There was a good mix of food, I tend to gravitate towards vegetarian and there were plenty of options. The Falafel sandwich was as big as my head and very filling. The entrees come with greek salad, rice, a veggie, and pita bread. The pita bread was warm and soo good. The staff were very attentive, but not overly aggressive. Our waiter was more than happy to give us suggestions on how to tackle everything and what sauces to put on and everything. I left stuffed and happy. The bill was very appropriate and affordable. The owner told us to spread the word and I am more than happy to do so! Definitely worth it!
