this place is absolutely the very best for authentic Mexican food and batch made sangria, portion sizes are great, service has never been sub par in the handful of times we have been there, only wish that they had one here in PA. five stars all day long

Great place for an authentic Mexican meal! Mexican food where I'm from in NY is to die for, so I came here expecting it to be sub par to my New York standard, I was WRONG! The complementary chips and salsa are great, our party of 8 was two families was accommodated to perfectly and we were served very quickly! Since it's not an option I've seen where I'm from I had to go with mango fajitas and they were amazing! Everything I had was great; not perfection but great nonetheless, no complaints, will be back for sure!

The food here is not that bad! Our entire party enjoyed their dishes (mango fajitas, chicken fajitas, chips/salsa, and cold drinks). Driving up to this place it feels like your typical Mexican restaurant but once you step inside you can tell the owners put in a good effort into decorating. The chairs were hand carved wood with painted images of Mexican cultural icons, I thought it was pretty cool! The reason for three stars was that my favorite Mexican restaurant here in Charleston has some low prices for equally, if not better, food. You are looking at around ~$15 per person for some typical dishes. The beer was ice cold but came in a small mug (does that make me sound like a lush?!). Overall a great joint.

Food was very good. Tried the chicken and shrimp supremas. Tasty and plentiful. I would definitely go back.

This is a generous 2! The service is pretty lousy for starters! But the food isn't really much better, this isn't Mexican food, this is a pretty crappy attempt at Tex Mex. For someone who grew up a few miles from the Mexican border this place is just lacking!

Food was very good. I told the waiter the I was from New Mexico and liked it hot! Wow, did he hook me up. Make sure that you ask for your food to be spicy to have a great experience. Also, ask for the hot salsa. What they bring to the table isn't hot so make sure you ask. Magarita wasn't the best but ok for a house flavor.

Just ate lunch at this place. We had finished our main course and were siting drinking our drinks and eating chips and salsa. When the waiter comes over and says CAN YOU LEAVE NOW, I HAVE A BIG GROUP THAT NEEDS SEATED. We said we are still eating. He said he needs the table. Very rude and demanding. We got up and went and complained about him. Nothing was said or done! So forget my earlier review. This place is history.

Not the best Mexican food I've eaten. I ordered beef enchiladas with rice & beans. Rice was very bland. I also ordered a margarita (plain) & received a strawberry one. I reordered the drink and it was very good but waiter never came back so I could get another. Service was mediocre at best. Not something I'd come back for

We ate there over the lunch hour, it was packed. The atmosphere was fun, the service very good and the food came quickly. However I am only giving it two stars because honestly the food simply wasn't very flavorful. It was really quite bland. I would not eat there again.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always good. The prices are not bad. I would recommend this place if you like good food.

i can't believe anyone would even mention TACO BELL in the same sentence -- best Mexican we've had in a very long time and sorry we discovered it late in our stay. We'll visit it several times in our visit to Melbourne Beach next spring. GREAT FOOD, at least on our first and only visit.

I have been in this area for 7 years and have been there on many occasions. I have never been there when the restaurant was empty - the fact that it is always crowded has to be a testimony to the food and service. The food is darn good and I have never had a problem wit the service. I would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants anywhere! I can't believe the reviews I'm reading. First, I have no idea what these people are ordering or what Mexican food they are used to eating, but I can tell you this a great Mexican restaurant. I grew up in South FL and this place beats most of the restaurants there. I love the enchiladas with mole. Their Mexican cole slaw is delicious. I always order extra. Their fajitas are also great. Good portions and great prices. Another question for the haters out there, if this place is so mediocre, then why do they always have a wait for a table? Plus they have 3 or 4 locations... This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in FL. Period.

Tough to find good Mexican food. 3 Amgios (?) in Melbourne is very good but this is closer when we visit Sebastian. Been here twice. Both times the food was good. Burritos and enchilladas were very good. Can't beat it for the price!

We've been coming here for years now and I have to say is some of the best Mexican food in the area.We have NEVER had a bad experience here, as the service is always fast and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Dinner for three is easily under $30 and that includes drinks. My family and I will continue to come here for excellent Mexican food. After their recent expansion, there is never a long wait, even when the restaurant is full. Definitely give it a try the next time you're in the mood for great food at a great price.

Great Mexican food for a great price. Warm chips and fresh salsa brought to the table are delicious. Margs, also very good. Jalapeño Poppers are the best I've ever had. The Fajitas are amazing - delicious with plenty of fillings to add. You could definitely split this with someone or take half of it home. The portions of pretty much everything are huge and you will leave stuffed. Service is always quick and friendly. Always a must when in VB.

1.) This is Tex-mex, not mexican. 2.) this is BAD Tex-Mex I understand that Floridians aren't all that familiar with Mexican/Tex-Mex food, but really, you should know better than this! As a Texan, I can assure you that this is a poor example of Tex-Mex fare! I don't know what was up with the salsa. It wasn't as bad as Pace, and it appeared to be made in-house, but not exactly good, either. The chips would have been good, but they were pre-salted. At least they appeared to be fresh, not from a bag. Most authentic Mexican restaurants do not salt their chips. Tex-Mex restaurants run 50/50. I prefer unsalted chips. We ordered shrimp fajitas and a shrimp dinner that came with what were supposed to be grilled veggies, (broccoli, green & yellow squash, mushrooms, onions, carrots). What we actually got were 7 shrimp each. The fajitas had a ton of green peppers and onions. The shrimp dinner did not appear to be grilled in any way. The consistency of the veggies was more like they had been steamed. Both dinners were covered in red sauce - which was not mentioned in the menu. I don't like red sauce, and I REALLY hated this one. It was remarkably close to marinara thinned with catsup and tomato soup. The rice and beans were unremarkable. The guac was pretty good, but lost in the bed of lettuce it sat in. Thank god for sour cream! It helped kill the taste of the red sauce. (Who puts red sauce on fajitas?) I was sick when we got home. Not food poisoning, but it didn't agree with me.

Food was very bland not very tasty except for the meat. I prefer the Cuban food down the road and the staff is friendlier and they know the food that they are selling. And for all who think Taco Bell's food isn't as good....well at least it's got flavor. Oh and management there made me feel like they were doing me a favor when they honored my gift certificate .....hello management someone paid for it and you pocketed the money. There's no expiration on the gift certificate so it should be good until it is used whether it be 5 days or 5 years down the road. Shame on you greedy people.

Only been here once but the service was pretty awful. Friendly but untimely from seating to standing waiting to pay. We had to ask for every single thing from more salsa to refills to the check. Food was fine. Good portions. Just expect slow service.

This restaurant has come full circle since the day it was a Papa Johns Pizza! Recent renovations added more tables and a full bar. Their queso, chips and salsa are even devoured by our almost three-yr-old. All the salads are great, my favorite is the avocado salad. The hubby usually goes for the burritos or enchiladas. Not really sure what the previous reviewers had to eat to say Taco Bell is better, but they are WAY off!

I come this place often when in the area visiting my parents. I cannot think of a single bad experience dining here, regardless of how busy they are or how big a group we are. The management and staff are always accommodating and friendly, and the service is top notch. The food is consistently served quickly and correctly, and is always delicious. Take out orders are no different; the same care is shown in its preparation as is when you dine in. This is overall a great place to grab a good meal!

Yummy queso dip, excellent chimichangas. Been here a few times now and most things are delicious. Not a big fan of the Mexican pizza. Good happy hour specials if you go early enough. Authentic Mexican food!

I love this place!! Staff is so nice!! Food is delicious!! We go at least once a week. Never disappointed. So happy they have liquor now! Margaritas are delicious! We are always sat at a clean table and waited on right away.

    Wonderful people, all the wait staff are genuinely friendly and happy Hispanics. We have more fun at that place!! They all love listening to my ridiculously poor Spanish, with my Wisconsin accent !!?? Ha!!! We normally go for the delicious -dirt cheap- "early birds" for about 5-6 bucks for a complete totally filling dinner! Nice selection of good Mexican beers at 2.50 draft, 3.25 bottle. No steal ok, but a fair enough price for an "import." Really nice new remodel in the back room/ bar room. Pleasant, cozy atmosphere. Did I say the staff are super nice people??? And there you are... Don't say I've never done anything for a stranger!!?? (; (;

Service can be a bit spotty (even to just pick up a call-ahead order), but good food at a pretty good price. (For comparative purposes, let's say I'd give Taco Bell 1.5 stars max) I usually go for lunch, so maybe I'm not holding it up to a high standard.. It's not really a 'classy' Mexican restaurant. It's more of a casual (I'm hesitant to say 'touristy') type of place. If this place was open til 1 or 2 am on the weekends...I'd go there way more often and rate it 5 stars.

  • Finlay O.

I've had takeout from this place ONCE, it was terrible. You'd be better off driving through Taco Bell. As with most bad food in the area, it is the tourist trade that keeps them in business.

We Went to Ay Jalisco on Saturday and the place was packed but we only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. The Chips were crisp and greaseless and the salsa while tame was tasty. I had the beef enchilada combo which is served with refried beans, Mexican rice and a chopped salad. My wife had the chimichanga combo which came with the same sides and guacamole. The dishes were flavorful and filling. The sangria was too sweet for my palate and nextime I will order a beer.

Tacos de asada are sooooooo good. TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS The downside is they dont have a liquor license so no fricken margaritas!!! Go to Vero if you want some tequila.

I would classify this place as 'edible'....I'll eat it, but that doesn't mean I really like it. Generally the only reason you will find me here, is because it's the only mexican food close by to Barefoot Bay.

We live in Sebastian and before they opened here we had to go to Vero Beach, We love their food and any time we get visitors who are looking for some Mexican food we bring them there, The staff is very friendly and always make sure that the customers are well attended to.

The food is just OK. First Mexican restaurant I have had to use salt and pepper for flavor. The Margaritas are made with wine, what a disappointment.

  • Michael G.

My family and I have been regular customers since their opening in Sebastian. We enjoy their food, atmosphere, and service. Recently, we were there as part of a group of seven and were shoehorned into a booth. (My only complaint for the night.) Several of us ordered beers, not unusual, and the bottom of the glass mug dropped out from one of the mugs. They comped the beer, its replacement, and dessert for the table. They could easily double their floorspace and still be very busy but the city would make them pay serious cash in order to do it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
