We traveled down to Sarasota for a birthday meal with my brother and sister. We had a few drinks and all ordered the ribeye. It was delicious and cooked to perfection! My husband said he had never seen me eat all of my steak before, it was so delicious I couldn't stop. The wait staff were excellent, attentive and cheerful. Thank you for a great all around experience.

Good reviews but i don't know why. A long wait after we were seated, clam chowder that tasted as if it had cheese in it, green beans that were oily and salty, mediocre all around.

Great food. Family owned. Top notch service. Owner and his family has been there greeting me every time I've been there, which is over 50 times in the past 5 years. Always great. I park across the street, always parking available.

Have been dining here for years. It is quite not up to date in decor but the atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. There is a view of a mini dirty marina. Small menu but good quality seafood. We always start the saganaki....OPA!!

Been going here and WaterfrontToo for years. Always a good meal and a nice relaxing atmosphere away from all of the chains. Really never had a bad meal here.

Some nice reviews on Yelp led us here. Big mistake. A wall of dirty windows overlooks the end of a dreary canal. The view is of rundown buildings on the other side of the 'water' and a few boats. The interior is shabby and needs a total remodel. How was the food? Wife had jumbo shrimp - they were nothing even remotely close to 'jumbo' and they were overdone. The sweet potato side was barely warm. I had grouper - it was a nice portion and pretty good. My side of string beans was mushy. Major disappointment overall.

Had the 10oz sirloin. It was thick juicy and very tender. But lacked some kick as far as spices or flavor. With some A1 it was fine. Baked P was hot and cooked through, no loaded option though. :( Ambiance was nice we did an early dinner here. Service was great server was very friendly. A good alternative if you're trying to avoid chains, but I wouldn't say a must visit based on one experience.

Food is not bad. Nothing special. Our bill was incorrect ($12 appetizer listed as $17), which was annoying.

Friendly owners. Great view! Terrific food. Slightly pricey but it's an experience that is worth it!

Went here on New Years Eve because it was close to our place on Stickney Point. It is a steak and potatoes kind of place straight out of the 1970s. I had the filet, which was perfectly prepared and butter knife tender. My husband had a ribeye, which was also perfectly done. The vegetable sides left a lot to be desired but were hardly missed next to the massive steaks and cheap drinks. Oh, but the French Onion Soup was the bomb! The crowd was older for sure. Everyone seemed to know the owners and each other and were happy to chat with us while we waited at the bar for our table. For a good steak and a glimpse into the Sarasota of my childhood this is the place. I'll be back.

I have lived in Sarasota for the past 16 years or so. I scramble from place to place searching for a nice ahi tuna appetizer. BINGO!!! I went to waterfront last night to order their ribs (which are also delicious). The woman sitting next to me had ordered the tuna as her dinner and it looked beautiful, done to perfection. I ordered the appetizer portion and enjoyed every morsel while sipping my wine. Placed my rib order - to go. I am so excited. I'm sure they will get tired of seeing me walk through their doors.

My family has been coming to The Waterfront for over 30 years and the quality has varied over that time. Our last experiences were uniformly positive. Our whole group--12 people of varied ages and tastes--was extremely happy with their meals. The steaks were perfectly cooked, as were all the fish dishes. My husband's pork osso bucco was particularly good. And the steamed rolls are always a treat. In addition, the service was competent, helpful, and friendly.

Yes, one of our favorite restaurants when visiting Sarasota. Family owned and operated. Now place is really a hidden gem. We usually sit at bar and are entertained by Barkeep Owner Stephanie and Chefs Julio and Francisco. Now I'll state one thing here that is obvious. The place is old and in desperate need of a costly remodel. HOWEVER, the food is prepared EXCEPTIONALLY to your specific requests. Top notch and we've been to some other really high priced dinners and got much less. We eat dinners here at least once a week while visiting Sarasota. That says a lot. Prices are reasonable and all food is cooked to order, not pre-prepared packaged Sysco frozen food. Suggestion - Before ordering your meal, sit at bar and enjoy a drink and watch chefs cook. Notice the various steps for each entry, especially the fish and lobster entries. Our favorite meals are Rib Eyed Steak (Pittsburg style), NY Strip Steak, Salmon, Fish & Chips, Tuna, Lobster and Shrimp. Not to forget 8 oz Beef Hamburger with fries for $8.95 - what a deal for excellent burger - Best in Sarasota. Lobsters come in all sizes from 2LB down to smaller entries. Best prepared lobster we have ever eaten - moist, cooked perfectly. Dinner Meals include salad and home-made rolls. ENJOY, but please don't take our seats at the bar.

Just order the seafood. Filet and ribeye are average. The salad is a sad heap of iceberg lettuce. The fried shrimp is slightly above average. Coffee is horrible. Clam chowder is good but not great. Rolls were warm and soft, but nothing special. Can't say I will return.

I've been going to this restaurant for years and it is one of my favorites in Sarasota. In season it's full of Blue hair, Golf Slax wear'in Snowbirds so I usually avoid it this time of year. But it's really nice to have an independently owned good quality restaurant that serves no nonsense delicious food. I almost always have a steak and am never disappointed. Great fresh hot rolls served while you wait for your entrée. We usually go with friends and everybody is always happy. The dining room is well run, as is the kitchen. I look forward to my next visit and will write a detailed review about the food. But this place is always a good bet.

Went here on a Saturday night and it was pretty crowded. A very comfortable and laid back place. We were seated after waiting 10 minutes or so, which was not bad given the crowd. We placed our order, then waited and waited and waited. We were promised our meal shortly and were told the kitchen was backed up. After waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes after our order was placed, our meal finally arrived and my wife's potato came out burnt and my green beans were also burnt. We could not understand why the food quality was so poor after waiting so long. The owner apologized to us and said it was too busy to make sure everything was of high quality coming out of the kitchen. She took one meal off our bill, which was very nice of her. We would try this place again to see if this was a consistent issue. Food taste was average.

Nice little restaurant right off the waterway, serving steak and fresh seafood. I came here with family for dinner during blue hair season. Let's just say the place could use a face lift, I felt like I was eating at a place from the 80's. Typical Menu for the area, few fresh fish choices, typical steaks with nothing to really rave about. I enjoyed a nice swordfish with a baked potato and some clam chowder / side salad. I enjoyed it but there is certainly better in the area. I would go back if asked, but I think the area has more to offer and will simply put this place on the back burner.

My husband and I love going here and sitting at the bar. You can order your food and watch them cook it on the grill. You can also sit in the dining area which overlooks a canal with boats. The food is basic grilled foods: steak, pork chops, chicken, fish, etc. Sometimes basic is really good! They have a really large (I believe 2 lb) lobster tail, which we haven't tried due to the price tag. We love coming on Tuesday night for their baby back rib special for $11.95. Sometimes we just share an entree at the bar with a couple of drinks.

A real nice surprise. Food was very well prepared from an eclectic menu. Nice views from the tip of Anna Maria Island. Friendly service. Worth the drive.

Having lived in SRQ for the past 25 years, I can only say that this is the BEST steakhouse in the area. Hard to find, even for being on Tamiami Trail, but is well worth the hunt.
