Our food took 2 hours to come! My sprite didn't come out until the appetizers, which took about an hour. Who knew it took an hour to throw some lettuce on a plate!

On a busy Saturday night my party of 7 got in right away. The sushi was very good despite the lack of anyone Japanese in the restaurant. Nice assortment of Japanese "izakaya" style food for the non fish eaters.

Great sushi restaurant in the area. Lots of great sake to choose from. Soft shell crab roll excellent. Don't expect much as far as atmosphere, food makes up for it.

I go here quite often. The sushi and food is really good but they have a couple of unique rolls that are a MUST try. The Citrus and Snow Angel rolls. Just stop in and order them.. You won't regret it!

As I write this, I'm sitting here waiting, for 40 minutes now. Good sushi, but beware-- If you go here on your lunch break from work, you will be late. Also, they don't take American Express. Make sure you bring your debit card!

This is now officially our go-to sushi restaurant in Sarasota. We ate here on New Years Day 2015, thankful that they were open.It got excellent Yelp reviews, so we figured it is worth a try. Simple review: great food, great atmosphere, great service. True to its name, they have an extensive selection of sake. For gringos like me who enjoy warm/hot sake, there seems to be only one choice, a house sake available in small or large sized carafe. It was excellent, I didn't feel badly about the lack of choice. No problems there. We ordered vegetable tempura, dragon roll, three sisters roll, miso soup, Japanese salad. Every dish was excellent. The vegetable tempura was done perfectly, delicate light breading, and perfectly tender vegetables. Each of the sushi's was beautifully prepared and melt in your mouth delicious. Service was fast, friendly, charming, efficient. Server told us that the three sisters roll was the most popular item on the menu, which if true, makes sense. It was delicious. We shall return!

Overpriced. My spicy tuna roll had no tuna in it. The yellow tail nigiri was fishy tasting. The service terribly slow and they use way too much mayo on their rolls. Will not go back.

I have been coming here for years and Sake House is my go-to sushi spot. I come here weekly because I live close. Sake House offers affordable and delicious rolls; everything is good and this place has my favorite ginger salad in Sarasota, much better than Yume's or Pacific Rim's. My favorite roll is the snow angel roll. The service is always fantastic (when it's not busy), they will remember you even if you have only came in once before. The servers are very sweet, attentive and quick (when it's not busy). They offer a discount for paying in cash, which makes paying the bill a little easier. It is well decorated inside, somewhat modern and they usually let you sit wherever you want. I like to snag the corner tables for privacy. Sake House doesn't get 5 stars because they are closed in the middle of the day for a few hours before they open up for dinner. I've tried to come here a few times for a late lunch and was disappointed because it would be closed AND because they don't have any great sushi lunch specials. p.s. no American Express is accepted here.

Excellent Sushi, Tempura, and Chicken Teriyaki. We love Miso soup and while it was just fine, we have had slightly better. I think it could be improved by adding a little more Miso paste. However, don't let that stop you from visiting this restaurant! Service was excellent and overall, the food was superb.

Nice and quiet place just a block from Main Street. Citrus roll special was fresh, soft shell crab crispy and piping hot. Waitress was nice to chat with, my order came out in no time, and I was left alone to enjoy delicious food and my book, with no interruptions. Perfect service, great place, wonderful and reasonably priced food. Very extensive selection of Japanese beer and sake. Open ceiling and funky contemporary decor. Love it.

This is my husband and I's favorite Friday night date spot! The sushi is delicious, especially the Tuna Tataki & Sunny State Roll! Mae & her crew are very welcoming and always pleasantly greet their customers! Highly recommend for great fresh sushi!

Our favorite option for sushi in downtown SRQ. They are more on the fusion vs traditional side. Service was always always impeccable. Prompt, courteous, accurate. Food is very good, just shy of great but always consistent. Prices are very reasonable and they have a relaxing ambiance.

Couldn't be more impressed with the Sake House! Went there for lunch and had several of their sushi rolls. Each one was unique and unbelievably delicious. The waitress provided equally good service and was very attentive. I will definitely be back!

Hands down, my favorite sushi place in Sarasota. Super friendly people, great location and the food is always fresh and delicious. I recommend the citrus, three sisters, red dragon, and spider rolls. And their tempura isn't heavy like many other places...the tempura sauce is out of this world on sushi!

It is really hard to beat the sushi at Sake House. The specialty rolls are better than anywhere in town and under $9! The servers are very nice and accommodating. A word of warning, though. If you come during a busy time, you may have a longer wait for your food than expected. It is always worth it, even when there is a wait.

Nice restaurant in downtown Sarasota. My wife and I are not big sushi fans, but love Japanese habachi style food. Reasonably priced food and lots of options. Good selection drinks at fair prices. We will come back! Ask your waitress about additional discouts.

This place is a gem... The atmosphere isn't as cool as Pacific Rim, etc... but the sushi is awesome! I typically get the chef's choice roll. Very resonably priced for what it is. My wife and I have looked around, and this is the place to go in SRQ. The owners are very nice as well. This is a hidden gem for the food! Would be a 5 star spot but the ambiance is a little bare.

Excellent. Fried lobster sushi with tempura crumbles on top... Unbelievable. My wife had the south beach roll (chicken tempura scallion avocado cucumber) fantastic. Open until 10 and 10:30 on fri/sat which is great for us locals. Service was a bit slow and waitress came out after 15' because she did not believe that I did not want my roll with mayo and my wife wanted regular mayo instead if spicy mayo; wouldn't take no (mayo) for an answer and said it would have some on it. Well I vowed to send it back but it was just great and worth the wait. Will be back on a regular basis.

The sushi is great, always fresh and very reasonably priced. They have two pages of great "specialty rolls" and several different kinds of sake. For those of you that don't like sushi, their bento boxes and tempura are great. The lunch specials are very good too, and very inexpensive. The service is great, and the food is even better. Definitely a place to go to if you are a sushi lover.

Love this place. Service is excellent. You should try their sake. The food are all great (I had teriyaki salmon) and my friends have random sushis.

Love it! I am not a sushi eater so ordered the chicken tempura. The presentation was wonderful and the food was plentiful and delish! The service was excellent and this will be my place to go for lunch on Fridays.
