Went for dinner on a wednesday night and my group had a paneer dish, a lamb dish and a vegetarian dish along with mango lasi and paneer nan. All were excellent. The service was very good, our server was very friendly and helpful. The rice was particularly tasty, I'm always impressed when a restaurant manages to master something that is so simple. The lamb vindaloo was VERY spicy, which is exactly how I like it. Delicious food, reasonable prices and great service. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

What an amazing meal!! If you have eaten Indian food at this location before, please don't let that experience keep you from trying Flavors of India. This is a brand new restaurant. I had the chicken tikka masala. It is one of my favorite Indian dishes and I have had it at several different restaurants in several different cities. This is hands down the best I've ever had. It was so very flavorful and the medium spice was perfect. The garlic naan was delicious. The garlic and spices were fresh. The wine by the glass is very limited but house Pino Grigio was pretty good. Their bottle prices were reasonable. I will absolute have no reservations about returning. Thanks for a great meal!!

Love the Indian music videos. Popped in for lunch buffet. Lunch time service still one hour to go. Anticipated hot heaping plates of explosive flavor but found buffet trays with lots of sauce and minimal veggies and meat. Some trays had sauce only. Beef was gristle and bones, chicken tandoor was good. Naan bread was perfect. I probably won't go back

Was on vacation with my family and stopped by Flavors of India for the Sunday lunch buffet. Service was amazing - extremely friendly. The buffet had plenty of options for veg and non veg from Indian street food to delish butter chicken. I asked the waiter for garlic naaan and he brought some out..extremely light and fresh. Also they have amazing chai. Definitely will visit this place again.

We are so glad to have found this restaurant. It's worth the drive from Venice! Tandoori chicken was delicious and moist, curry perfect. Nan was really good, but over priced!

The best Indian food that we have had in sarasota by far. They are new owners and the food was amazing. Don't get this place confused by the old owners and location because there is not comparable. We had the garlic nan and chicken tiki masala and it was on point. My daughter had the kids app and it was huge and she finished almost all of it. We will be back for sure and may also stop by to try the daily lunch buffet.

Loved our dinners here- chicken tikka masala, a lamb dish and garlic naan. One of the most delicious Indian meals we've ever had. It's going to become a regular go-to for us.

What a gem! The lunch buffet is excellent!! The lunch buffet price is unbelievable, and the flavors are amazing. There was a great variation of textures and flavors on the line, plus a nice variation of chutneys... Not to mention the fresh naan!! The flavors here have a slight variation to the other Indian places we have been to, which was a welcome surprise. Everything on the small buffet line was exquisite. 10/10, we will be back for lunch!!!

Got take out and it was really good. Customer service was very personable. As for the food. The naan was very good and fluffy and packaged very nicely. ****. Saag paneer had tons of cubes of cheese which is what you want from a good Saag Paneer **** . As for the chicken tikka masala, it was really good, but wish they used more breast or something, it just seemed very fatty **. Still good flavor overall and "medium" will be hotter than other places so be warned. Also, they could include more rice. Still, very good and would order again and I read they deliver so that is a good thing!

Amazing. Best Indian food I have had in a long time and definitely the best in Sarasota. I went for the first time with family for my birthday in August, right after they had switched ownership. The food has more variety than I have seen elsewhere. More regional specialities to be sure. We had a savory chickpea cake for an appetizer that had me wanted to lick the plate. I also remember ordering the massive crispy egg pancake called a dosa, which was fun to share and dip or fill with whatever you choose to accompany it. Our waitress was kind and talkative. At the time, there was a tv playing a Bollywood film that captivated my younger brothers. To top it off, because it was my birthday, they brought a variety of desserts that they described as the sort they would eat at home on their birthdays. A charming visit. The second time I came on a date and enjoyed the imported Indian kingfisher beer and a delightfully tangy-sweet tamarind eggplant appetizer, as well as a couple of creative curries. We met another waiter who also was happy to talk to us about his family and India and give us recommendations on the menu. Another example of their superb service. However, I have to say my last visit was my favorite. The only thing marring my earlier visits was that fact that I could not physically eat or pay for the all the foods that I wanted to try in one sitting. This past weekend, I visited again for the lunch buffet at their grand opening celebration. Not only were they offering a great deal (5.99!!) but the food was fantastic once again, with a wide selection of meat and veg dishes. I was particularly impressed by the inclusion of the salad/chutney bar that featured these amazing spicy-sour pickled lime wedges and the extensive dessert buffet. They even had little cups of chai!! I will be back again and again.

Just recently discovered via Yelp review. New owners. Food is authentic, fresh, beautifully prepared. They are from Kerala and menu offerings include many North and South Indian favorites. Kerala style shrimp curry was outstanding. Lunch buffet is varied and generous! Wait staff informative, welcoming and kind-hearted!!

Pricey and not the greatest Indian food I've ever had . The portions were off . Way too much chicken tika masala in comparison to rice - for the money you should increase the rice portions so it's more than one solid meal . I ordered one order of chicken tika masala and one order of garlic naan to go and it was $19 !!!!! It was good bc I was hungry for Indian but I'll probably try another place next time . Maybe I just didn't pick the right menu item ?!?

Our food was excellent and our server was very good. It was a different style of Indian than we've had before, but delicious none the less.

We ordered food for takeout. The mango lassi was delicious but we did not find the hot food good at all. Both the saag veneer and the aloo goba masala had a strange texture and flavor - both dishes tasted as if the spices were burnt. We were disappointed and would not dine there again.

The food was amazing... And equally amazing was the staff and atmosphere. Everyone working there was so sweet and super friendly! We will definitely be going back to enjoy some of the other dishes on the menu. Tonight we had Samosas and Chicken Curry but are already making plans to try some of the Lamb dishes on our next trip! We will definitely be suggesting this restaurant to all of our friends and family!

I've only been here once for lunch, but it was very good. They had a few veggie dishes, a few different chicken dishes, and a goat dish. The rice was nice, naan served to table was excellent. Nice selection of sauces, chutney, pickle, etc. Much better service and selection than the previous Indian restaurant that was in this location. They even redid some of the interior and it feels more pleasant and bright inside. I would recommend it and I look forward to trying out dinner there. I will upload photos of the takeout menu.

My wife and I tried this place for the first time two weeks ago and fell in love. We returned on Valentine's Day and found an amazing lunch buffet. The server even remembered us from our only prior visit. I have never written a review before but I want this restaurant to be successful and thought this would be the best way to spread the word.

Really tasty food, large portions, fairly priced. My husband and I shared garlic naan, the house special masala (chicken, lamb and shrimp) and chicken tikka. The masala sauce was spicy and flavorful. Timely and friendly service, comfortable booths, pretty decor and lovely music. We plan to go back for the lunch buffet to try it all!

I had lunch at Flavors of India today. The buffet had four vegetarian entrees, plus sambar, raita, miniature uttapams, rice pudding, and fresh-baked naan delivered to the table. The entrees were all unusual variations on the standard stuff: Eggplant Tawa instead of the standard Bengain Bharta; a Bhindi dish that was not masala; a vegetable vindaloo, and a very nice mushroom mutter. All were delicious, and nicely priced. The only slight negative for me was the spice level, which was very tame - even the vindaloo. Not really a criticism; if you're going to have a buffet you need to make it accessible to everyone. I can't comment on the non-vegetarian stuff, which included goat and chicken, but "my side" of the buffet table was outstanding. I'll be back for dinner!

I haven't even left the restaurant yet and I'm writing this review. The food is delicious. The service was really good and I am a very happy customer. Their prices are also very reasonable compared to other indian restaurants in sarasota. Definitely, 100% recommend this place.

I tried this for carryout last week and was very impressed. I had the tamarind eggplant appetizer, the Navaratan Khurma and their fantastic Peshawar Naan bread. All dishes were very, very good. I think it was better than Passage to India!! The restaurant was not busy, but it was a Tuesday, but it was clean and very cute inside. I would definitely go back for either carry out or to eat in. Please try it - you will be very pleased!

I have dined here once and I have to say the food was outstanding. When I dine out I rarely eat Indian as I never feel that the food taste like home(I am Indian). But my experience at Flavors of India was different. The beef fry was so much like the one u get back home. I tried beef, shrimp, Chole Bature and also a goat curry. Every single dish was delicious ! Great staff and friendly service!!!

Had a great dinner at Flavors of India. The butter chicken sauce was wonderful and the garlic naan was tasty as well. Service was exceptional especially with there only being one other table in the restaurant. I would definitely go back for the food.

I was born in Kolar, in southern India, and I have lived and worked in Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Australia. I know good Indian food when I taste it, and you can definitely find it at Flavors Of India, 7119 South Tamiami Trail just a half mile south of Gulf Gate Drive, on the east side of US Hwy 41. The midday lunch buffet (every day 11:30am - 3:00pm) is a good start for those wanting to try a variety of dishes, or as a first sampler. The goat curry (superior halal goat, the real thing) is very good and the tandoori or masala chicken are both excellent. Vegetable sides are tasty, particularly the aloo. As well as the self-serve buffet, hot baked naan bread is brought fresh to the table. The staff are very friendly, helpful and courteous. I recommend this place to all of my Indian food aficionado friends, and will return there regularly myself. Good curry houses are hard to come by, and I hope this one is here to stay for a long time! BP, Venice.

Do not go here it's terrible. All I can think is that the five star reviews are from the owners. It took an hour to get our entree and restaurant was only half full. It was some of the worst Indian food we have ever had. Cold, flavorless, poorly cooked. Wait staff was basically non existent. The worst restaurant experience we have had in years.

We have driven by this place for quite a while but never thought of stopping until friends suggested we meet there for dinner. It was a very good choice. The food was excellent and the employees couldn't have been nicer. We asked for suggestions and they gave them. The four of us ordered some appetizers and naan as well as four entrees. The server said that we could probably get by with three, but we didn't listen to him and finished every morsel. We will be back.

Visiting from Tampa and had a craving for Indian food. The food was excellent - not too spicy or oily with fresh ingredients. The service was courteous and quick. Better than any Indian restaurant in Tampa.

7 of us eat dinner at Flavors of India and we all would rate the experience with 5 stars. Every entree was well prepared, with excellent sauces, generous sizes, and good service. It's been hard to find a 5 star Indian restaurant. While only open 5 months, they have already set a high bar. This place is now a must on all our lists. Ben & Sue

What a find. Taste of India has it all. Clean and pleasant restaurant, amazing food and wonderful staff. Everything we had was great but the Chicken Pista Curry was truly excellent.
