You have to try those fish tacos!! Don't forget to ask for some siracha on the side to spice them up!;)

I didn't stay here for long so I'm keeping this review short. My cousin and I went in here on a weeknight to grab one last drink before heading back to the hotel. We had just left another bar that was packed and walking past Selva grill which was packed, this place was dead. Literally one other table seated. We grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered drinks. The drinks were not very good, made way too strong. The other two people in the restaurant seemed to be a manager/owner and some girl half his age feeling each other up and sucking face 5 feet from the bar. A little disgusting to say the least. It seems like there is nobody running this place. I can't see myself coming back here anytime soon.

You still can't go wrong with the Baja Fish Tacos. 3 tempura battered (or grilled) fish fingers with spicy (tangy more than spicy) remoulade and malt vinegar. Also get yourself a side of sweet potato fries - they are fantastic and big enough to share.

Service is slow!!!! Had dinner this week. Ordered salads and entrees. All food was served at the same time, with one salad arriving AFTER the entree. Bus-person repeatedly came over to ask if we were done with our dishes (why the rush?? The place wasn't even crowded) BUT failed to notice our water glasses sat empty. Had to flag waits staff down for everything. Food was mediocre at best. Will not return.

This place is mixed for me. Friendly service and great atmosphere. The food is phenomenal! Try the pork belly or the beef carpaccio. However, the drinks are hit or miss. They're VERY expensive and don't taste good. Plus they lessened their cocktail menu to only a few cocktails...very disappointing. Go here only for the food and get there relatively early if you want to have any sort of conversation....once the house music dj shows up, it's impossible to hear anything. The place is way to small for loud dance music.

Good location and decent food and drinks. This restaurant and bar is located in Downtown Sarasota on Main Street in close proximity to the Downtown Parking Garage. So, parking is no problem. The food is decent and the risotto is a must order for any first timer. Drink selection is also good.

My partner and I attempted to go to Clasico Cafe, but after 20 minutes of sitting at a table and no service even looking at us, we walked out. We stopped by "downtown historic" Sarasota while headed up to Tampa airport and decided on this place because there was a guy playing a vintage piano outside. I appreciated the randomness of that. The place was kind of empty, which is never a good sign, but it was a bit in the afternoon after the brunch rush. The hostess gave us a brunch, a lunch, and a dinner menu, so I really didn't know which one to order from. There were waiters all around serving food, but we just sat there with no one even looking at us. At the end of the day, we had a flight to catch and couldn't just sit around for an hour and a half for a burger. I'm not the type to just walk out of a restaurant randomly, but this place gave us a very good reason when literally everyone there ignored use. We just went across the street to the Italian café and had a quick sandwich and headed out. Too bad.

Disappointing first visit. On a lazy very hot Sunday afternoon we just happened in this downtown Sarasota spot for a late lunch on the way to the airport. We were greeted promptly upon out arrival and seated by the friendly hostess at a high too near the kitchen and the bar. Unfortunately, we waited aprox 10-12 mins without being greeted or served. So we gave up and left. After watching no fewer than six employees walk past us in a nearly empty restaurant without even one of them enquiring about our lunch, we gave up and decided to grab a quick sandwich across the street. Exactly what you wouldn't want to happen.

It is a classy, not stuffy atmosphere, casual and comfortable. Price points are easy on the wallet and the food is always really good. Fresh, wholesome, creative, and a welcome departure from typical fried bar food. I live in Sarasota and frequent Classico, and have not been disappointed.

We frequent Classico for brunch and occasionally dinner. Many ingredients are local, the drinks food and atmosphere are all very good!!

Great vibe, food, and service. I thought this location was cursed until Clasico came along. Finally, a sustainable business attracting a regular crowd. It's a younger crowd for Sarasota. They have a DJ on weekends playing EDM, live music at times (folksy), and a nice cocktail menu. I've always enjoyed the food I've ordered. The pork belly lettuce wraps are fab. Sliders were great. Servers are always friendly and attentive. No complaints ever. Oh, wait, except the women's bathroom is ridiculously small. They managed to squeeze in two stalls that can only pass one thin person at a time. That's okay. We get by with a "pardon me" and all is well. The inside atmosphere is nice, but I love sitting outside with the torches and cars driving by. Makes me feel like I'm in the city.

Omg get the short rib burger made by the Burger Gods at Clasico. Amazing coffee and espressos. Rafael knows how to run a cool Euro-vibe bistro. So needed in Sarasota! Finally! Great bar, cool decor, hip and friendly staff, local favorite but don't tell too many people. Anyone who gives Clasico a poor review isn't cool enough to be here. ;-) This place is my favorite SRQ downtown hang. Prego Raphael!

    * Welcome Experience - Ordinary Greeted. Seated. Was fine. * Establishment - Ordinary I didn't find anything of note here. Some tired but passable decor. Was fine. * Service - Ordinary I feel like the server could have been much more attentive. She visited rather infrequently, but then again we are low maintenance. I guess more than anything else she seemed... Disinterested. Whatever. * Food Quantity / Quality / Presentation - Ordinary I ordered the French dip. The bread was right. (That's usually the first thing to be a mess on a sandwich, a meal whose VESSEL is the bread!) The meat was microwaved and for way too long. It was very tough and unnaturally "microwave" hot and tough. And over seasoned too. Way too much salt and I love salt! The Au Jus was also way overseasoned. Again I'm a fan of salt. This was too much. This came with a side of fries. (I also believe a French dip should always be accompanied by horseradish and while none was on the plate none was offered either. (Blah.) My cousin ordered the burger. This was encouraging and made this a STRONG THREE star review. The burger was ordered medium and served medium-well (of course) and came with fries. The fries are those batter-covered four-process stations away from potato, shipped in frozen fries. Great for kids' birthday parties and little league celebrations. Not so great at a grown-up dark restaurant with candles on the tabes. * What I'll remember ::sigh:: nothing really. * What I can't wait to forget The salt hammer that was brought down by the French Dip with Au Jus. My cousin lives a few minutes from here. He said he wouldn't return. I agree with that judgment. The search continues!

They just started breakfast which is amazing! Brunch is on Sat and Sun with bottomless mimosa! They also have a great dinner menu :) on top of all that! Check this place out on Friday and Saturday night after 10:30ish! Young hip beautiful people all around Sarasota show up here! Or show up early to watch the transformation!!!

Open for several years in downtown Sarasota, the Classico offers great food, reasonable prices, indoor and outdoor dining and a pleasant upbeat, but not noisy, atmosphere.

The food continues to be foodie-friendly. The happy hour, however, has undergone significant changes. Long gone are the $3 glasses of wine and discounted tapas. Now we have $7-$9 tapas and $5 wine. Still worth the visit, but teetering precariously... With Cafe Epicure across the street and Selva next store, both with their own happy hour allure, Clasico should halt the increasing prices for awhile.

I came here with co-workers for lunch last week for the first time and it was fantastic. I got the goat cheese salad, which did not disappoint. Later in the week, after seeing the boastful cocktail menu prior, I returned with a friend. I ordered the pomegranate lemon drop and she ordered a cucumber vodka cocktail. Mine arrived with a large lemon wedge, hers with a shrub of mint. Both tasted like jet fuel vodka. We tried to drink them and were about to give up when it began raining. We went to the bar to take cover, when both bartenders stared at us suspiciously. They asked what we ordered. We told them. They each pulled out straws and tasted our beverages and confirmed they weren't the cocktails that we ordered. They were made by a bartender who is usually a waitress. After remaking our drinks, they were incredible, delicious, and a delight. I would've given Classico 1 star, but the fact that the bartenders could spot a fraudulent cocktail from a mile away is awesome. And so is Classico.

Both lunch and late-night menus are awesome. I had the falafel salad for lunch - excellent falafel and a perfectly dressed salad with crisp greens. I also have had the kale salad with grilled salmon - the salmon was perfectly cooked and the baby kale was tender and delicious. The late-night atmosphere is definitely more "girls/guys night out" than "date night" but we still had a great time and the people watching was fun.

Went here for the 4th of July. Our server was nice and we received great service at first and then as it got busy it went downhill fast. Food was not great. Would not go back. My daughter had a burger that looked like it was frozen first. I had the beet salad.

Some parts of Classico are great, others need refined considering the kind of vibe they are trying to project. The espresso martini is out of this world, when they take the time to use real espresso and not just coffee/espresso liquor. I'm sure it annoying when my crew comes in on a busy saturday and orders them (because they take time), but we are happy to wait and at $10 a pop, our check pass by all those drink $4 beers a few times over. The food: some dishes are AWESOME others are just average. For the price they charge everything down to my french fries better be awesome. My girlfriends falafel salad was rocking. The falafel was fried perfectly and the dressing and tomatoes were great. My ruben was ok, on the small side but at the same time there was no issue with it as far as balance (not too much cheese, dressing or the like), good ratios. My friend's veggie burger was good but it was soft and fell apart so perhaps a little longer in the pan/oven to crisp it up. For what you pay, I wouldn't eat here again. The DJ: plays WAY too loud and plays the wrong music. As an EDM/electronica DJ/producer and audio engineer I can honestly say that the music is wrong, despite it being my genre of choice! This place is not a club, it's more of an cool/trendy lounge. I get that they want young people in there buying more and more booze BUT there are many styles of EDM that could get people grooving as they wait for their beers. There isn't really a "dance floor" per-say, but there is an area in front of the DJ that on any given moment has a handful of people or no one. Why? Because it isn't a club. There is no way to make a lasting vibe in a place like this with BANGING EDM, or really any music to sustain dancers/attention on the DJ. People are not there for that. It is an afterthought, but a nice one at that if he would just turn it down by 5-10 DB. Biggest issue: An older server was watched by me be extremely rude to a multitude of people here. Apparently he has "fine dining" experience which is the reason for his attitude but I don't see how that could be, as if he treated fine dining patrons this way there'd be no way he'd last through 1/4 of his shift...then again maybe that is why he is a recent hire of Classico. Great place and A-OK in my book.

Fantastic experience here! We had the filet and lobster which was excellent. The sauce was incredible and you could cut the filet with a fork. The cheesy risotto was to DIE for!! It's a must when ordering a side. We had Jen as a bartender and she made the best desert martini's we have ever had. My favorite was the fluffernutter martini....peanut butter rim. Yummm. We will definitely will be back soon!

One of the best and most beautiful locations to eat in sarasota, but is not fully taking advantage of it with an un-cohesive menu and somewhat lackluster food. The prime rib sandwich was excellent and the champagne very good and fairly priced, but the lettuce wraps were a bit odd and the crab cake was almost ENTIRELY breading. Very disappointing. Cafe Palm, the little cafe that was in this location before, was hands down much better food. I miss it. Classico-- get a new chef or be replaced.

Went here for the happy hour and sat out side. Some good things some ok things and some odd service issues that all boil down to 3 stars. The happy hour menu is decent and if you want a nice bite at a reasonable price it is great. The drinks menu also has some reasonable options. The mojito I had was pretty good and about $5, much better than the $9 to $10 you see at most places in town. We tried the fish tacos, which are not on the happy hour menu, but for $9 on the appetizer menu they are a nice item to get. And they were the best thing we had. Very close to a real baja one and not like the "fish tacos" you usually get in florida. These were on corn tortillas with cabbage as it should be. The other things we got were smoked salmon, unbalanced and forgettable. Something was wrong with the acid balance and the smoked part was maybe too stubble to my taste. The chicken lettuce wraps were were the last happy hour thing we tried. They had some Chinese sausage in them. An interesting idea but not well executed as the sauce kind of clashed with it and the lettuce had an odd taste. And a basic salad, which was good. The odd things had more to do with the service. Like when the guy, I'm guessing was the manager (young guy with a tie), picked up our plates at one point. We told him we wanted to get something else and he said "OK" and then walked away. I kind of hoped he was going to send our waiter over or or something, but nothing happened. and nothing happened and nothing happened. We were starting to change our mind about getting something else. Our waiter was AWOL, and the other staff refused to make eye contact with us or were busy chatting with friends. At one point the guy in the tie and someone I'm guessing is the owner were chatting with someone not far from our table and we couldn't get their attention either. We had to ask the hostess to find our waiter! All this when we told the manager we wanted to spend more money!!! So we got our last round of drinks eventually. But the same thing start to happen and it was like pulling teeth to get our check. Some excuses from the waiter about having a big table and how busy he was. Not sure I cared at that point. So, maybe some training still left to do? I think so and for only one dish I really liked out of the mix, not a huge hurry to go back so that means 3 stars.

What a great bar experience. Handcrafted cocktails and a solid wine list make this a great Happy Hour or late night stop. Haven't tried the food yet, but it sure smells good.

How do I give ZERO stars ? After waiting 50 minutes for our appetizers we were offered them for free - eh, ok. Asked for rare salmon: something from another planet arrived in front of my plate 30 minutes later. I say 30, but I swear they let it cook for 40. Took a bite for the heck of it, basically to confirm that yes, Thor of Asgard's boot sole actually made it's way via the Bifrost to my plater right here in Sarasota. Asked the waiter politely if my "bootsole" looked medium rare - he confirmed it was indeed Thor's bootsole and offered me a 50% discount - which I countered with a 100% discount. I'm getting bored writing this now, I'm sure you get the point. Bad service, bad food.

Great location on the corner of Main and Palm Avenue, the epicenter of downtown's gastronomic wonderland. There are so many wonderful restaurants on this block. If you go to Cafe Clasico you have to try the Fish Tacos. The Kale Caesar Salad is also one of my favorites. Good dressing, shaved parm, anchovies, very tasty. Try it with blackened chicken. Outdoor dining and lounging atmosphere is excellent. The kitchen is open all night so this is the place that everyone goes after all the other places close. Expect a club atmosphere late at night. Wait staff is not always the most courteous but the food is good.

I stopped in for lunch, I was by myself, I like the feel of the place and felt fairly comfortable. The wait staff was fairly attentive. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and paid an extra 7 bucks for the truffle fries. I don't recommend splurging on the truffle fries, they are not worth it. The grilled cheese sandwich was extremely dry, not a drop of butter to be found on this sandwich, This is my personal opinion, but a grilled cheese sandwich should be ooey-gooey and buttery, this was not. I give them high marks for the ambiance and I would probably go back and try something else on the menu.

Came here for a very tired meal after a long day of fishing. Glad we came here when we did, because I feel like this joint gets very clubby after a certain hour? While we were here, the DJ was still playing some chill lounge music to ease us into our evening. Food was cool. Loved my fish tacos! Customizable to allow for fried and grilled fish on the same plate. Although, I guess you can't really do fresh fish wrong in this area. Great negronis from behind the bar, as well. Enjoyed a bubbly/gin/St. Germain/sage cocktail which was very tasty as well. Don't judge me guys! I'm aware that's a "feminine" drink and I don't care. Cool café in a cool small city in a great area of the country!

Sarasota used to be a sweet seaside town with cultural pretensions and a winter bulge. The former distinguished it from places which encouraged spring break riff raff, and the latter was like a comfortable middle-aged belly - not always welcome, but not entirely unexpected either. Much of that winter spread came from the fine states of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and...well, you get the idea. Let's call SRQ the Midwest's Tropical refuge, a place where the attitude was familiar enough to be like home but absent the ice. Floridian torpor and Midwest calm made for a bland symbiosis. It worked. The end, however, is in sight. New Yorkers somehow keep confusing I-75 with I-95 and continue to end up here instead of Boca. What's going on? You'd think they'd realize the mistake and keep driving for another 200 miles via scenic Alligator Alley to where they belong. But they don't. They stop here and often go no further. At which point they take jobs in restaurants. Vinnie from Queens, Long Island, New York, was a one-man stage-show, waiter and raconteur. In ninety minutes I learned his about his life, his family and his employment history. I could have guessed his FICO score plus or minus 3 points so much did I know. I couldn't decide whether to be charmed or shoot myself. Overbearing service aside, one wonders when all restaurants plan to adhere to a few proven standards. Menus create a powerful first impression, so if they're dog-eared and dirty, it seems fair to question how the food is treated. If one person finishes their meal before another, do not remove that plate. All plates are removed when the the last diner finishes. And do not under any circumstances touch me. Ugh. Creepy. Oh, and if you are intent on finding an audience, Vin, head up to McCurdy's place and get yourself a gig there. When I'm paying for dinner, shut up and serve.

Great dining experience. Stopped in primarily due to the friendly hostess who engaged us as we passed by. A glance at the menu posted by the door sealed the deal and the hostess reinforced my selection of the fish tacos. A very well executed dish with delicate layered flavors and textures. Not a hint of "fishiness". The perfect companion to a Chardonnay . Fast, friendly service. Highly recommend.

Fashionable and elegant due to simplicity and restraint in style. The definition of clasico is perfectly fulfilled in Clasico Cafe and Bar. The amazing menu boasts a nice array of traditional dishes with innovative, fresh twists and includes vegan and vegetarian selections. Our drinks were excellent and our meal incredibly delicious with a lovely presentation. If you are a mature diner, as we are, do not let the fresh, trendy environment prevent you from truly delightful dining. As I passed by the pastry station the chef saw me looking at his beautiful creation and reached over the glass to give me a lovely taste. Clasico. Beyond dining. An experience.

The bartender, Drew, is pretty solid. Cool as can be and took care of us. Personally, I think this is the coolest place to hang out in downtown Sarasota - great food, awesome happy hour specials, people watching, and it gets wild at night later in the week. Count it.

Lovely corner space but twice now I've had really lazy service. No server came to my table for 15 minutes when they were empty. Then when he finally came he had no idea what the specials were.

Pretty good spot overall, the service was a bit slow and strange but the food was solid. Stopped over for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The fish and chips were very good. The truffle fries were awesome. Good coffee as well!

It is so fantastic that a good restaurant opened at this location. We dined at midnight on a Thursday evening and the food was just as good as during the dinner time. We really enjoy the music. The fish tacos are the best. I am from NYC and rate the tacos above the fish tacos at my favorite places in NYC. A wonderful addition to the downtown.

I was walking around Sarasota with my GF, when we randomly selected this place. We thought "what the heck" let's give it a try. The inside decor was cool. They had only been open a few weeks and we checked the Yelp reviews as there was only 3 at the time. I ordered this Steak Sandwich with a friend Egg and my GF got a 3 taco plate. Holy crap, they were both AMAZING. Seriously, I rarely give a place 5 Stars. I can't remember the last time I wanted to eat both our meals. Even the veggies on the side were awesome. It was a flavor explosion. My GF's tacos were 3 different tacos (fish/pork/beef). We could not even decide which one we liked best because each time we took a bite we were like "oh this one, oh wait, this one". We wanted to get desert, but had a Half Marathon the next day, so skipped it. We want to go back ASAP and eat there again!

My wife & I dined here on 1-30-14. The place had a cool and relaxed atmosphere. There was cool jazz music playing in the background. We were seated quickly and met our server, Marta. She was very helpful. We placed out order, which was served quickly. My wife has the chicken pot pie. She said it was very good. Good comfort food and a modest portion. I has the filet. However, was surprise by the addition of a lobster tail. I was expecting lobster in the risotto. My meal was wonderful. For dessert, we split the special dessert, which was cinnamon donuts, with a honey glaze. Truly, this was delightful. I would recommend this restaurant.

I get it, it is New Years and that equals amateur hour. However, action speaks louder than words. We get seated and wait almost 15 minutes until we flag a waitress down to ordered. Before that a manager walks by and doesn't stop just gives a pathetic look and walks by. About 10 minutes later after we order and are looking for our drinks come by another waiter to ask if we ordered. We should have stayed with him because it took another 20 minutes to get our drinks and another 20 to get our salad. I've been a waitress, I understand busy nights but to just give up and don't make any attempted to make the evening better..is an epic fail. Now let's talk about food. I would give the over all a C+. It is all about presentation and the escargot just looked like a bad oversight. Granted, it tasted okay but over cooked and just eh. Let's face it, this restaurant is having an identity crisis. Own your craft and get good at your food and presentation...then worry if you belong in Jersey Shore or Miami.

It is too bad this place has turned out to be a bomb. It is such a great location and a great idea with what could be a good vibe. Unfortunately, the service is Terrible and the food is just ok when they even get it right. Someone else said it best. The staff is mulling around with basically no clue at all. No one really cares in this place. I have tried this place twice and both times the people who are running it have not trained anyone. If you really want to see how good food and service is done, go down the road to Louis Modern. Top noch service and food.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place last weekend while we were staying overnight in Sarasota. We thought the menu looked interesting and decided to give it a try. We read the three reviews on here and pointed out the one about the taco's to the man who seated us. He let us know that they were changing the menu and that he had just taken over the restaurant. He seemed a little scattered at that point and not very thankful that we told him about the review, but it was probably because they were just setting up for dinner. The restaurant is very cool inside. It's got a few high top tables and a really cool bar. The bar looks like an old library with an actual ladder to climb up to get liquor bottles down. The place is tiled and just really have a cool ambiance. The server's assistant arrived promptly to get us waters and our server appeared shortly after to take our order. I ordered the aforementioned tacos - a fish, pork, and beef. My boyfriend ordered a steak sandwich with a fried egg and veggies as his side. Our food arrived and we were in heaven. It's probably one of the best meals I've had in a while. Each taco was better than the first and I couldn't quite decide which one I liked the best. All three had great flavor and the corn tortillas were perfect and didn't fall apart. My boyfriend's sandwich was awesome and the added garlic aioli sauce gave it a great extra flavor. His veggies were roasted perfectly and not over cooked or mushy. We really wanted to get dessert but were running a race the next day so we had to get the check and be on our way. As we were paying the gentleman who seated us came back and asked how everything was and told us thanks for letting him know about the yelp review. He redeemed himself and we let him know we'd be back and to please keep both of those items on the new menu. He said they are opening for breakfast soon so we'll definitely have to check that out.

I have been here several times for drinks and food. The atmosphere is hip and the food is fantastic. The reason I am giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because of the service. This place is fairly new but all the staff still act like they don't know what they are doing. The food however is great. Their appetizers are especially good- try the pork belly lettuce wraps and fish tacos. This place is a great addition to downtown. It seems to attract a slightly younger crowd than surrounding places and has a great vibe. Prices are decent considering the food is of good quality. Give it a try for sure!

My new favorite bar in SRQ! Have only tried it once and can't wait to go back. I had a delicious gin cumber mint drink. Didn't get a chance to try any food yet. Loved the awesome 80's music they were playing. Was there on a Friday night, and there was a pretty good crowd, with a mix of all different types of people.

This place may turn put to be pretty cool -- once the service staff catches up to the food prep. Food was delicious. Variety of tacos was good. Excellent flank steak. Shrimp appetizer was great. Neat decor, though we can't figure out how some 18-inch-high tables are going to work. So . . . pretty good place. But, oh my, the service needs work. I know the place had been open for only a week, but the young lady waiting on us knew nothing about the menu, perhaps had never heard of a margarita and generally disappeared for long periods of time. Her fault? Maybe. But she clearly had had no training at all. As I said, the food was good -- a pretty good place to start for a new restaurant. But the rest of this place needs some work.

Stumbled upon this place with my family when we were visiting Sarasota on vacation. The place itself is really cool - nice vibe, comfy seating, 80's music. However, when looking at the menu, I noticed that it's full of really odd stuff. For example, they serve some Cuban, Vietnamese, and American food; the restaurant lacks identity. Nonetheless, the food is really tasty! I got a Banh Mi sandwich - marinated pork, veggies. The bread was incredible, and the pork and veggies paired really well; the sandwich earns an A+. The service was spot on, too. Our waiter was really laid back and helpful, and seemed to know a ton about the menu and meals despite the fact that the restaurant opened a few weeks ago. If you're looking for a quick, cheap dinner, come here and you'll be happy!

We loved this restaurant! The food was amazing and our waitress Dakota was adorable. The food and drinks she recommended were delicious and she even recommended some places around town for us to check out. She was great and we'll definitely be going back for her and the food. I recommend the scallops or the mahi mahi, and pretty much everything on the desert menu.

Love Clasico...awesome spot to hang out at any night of the week. Vanessa the manager is great and on top of everything, Ari and Adrian hold it down behind the bar and Chris keeps the ship running tight! Keep it up!

Went here with a group of girlfriends for a week night happy hour. We were just going to stay about an hour, and ended up staying for a long time- our server was funny and friendly, the drink specials were great, and the food was wonderful. The Brussels sprouts and fries were especially delicious. Loved the guitarist - entertaining, but low key enough so that we could still enjoy our conversation. Recommend this place highly!

Food is okay, service is terrible. Our waters went dry several times, waited almost 15 minutes for a glass of wine. 30 minutes for one salmon, no acknowledgement from server. Very unfortunate...Try your luck at LOUIE'S MODERN next door...AWESOME RESTAURANT.

Went to Clasico for the first time last night and was very impressed! I was with a group of ten people and we were all very hungry after being at an event al evening. It was after midnight when we walked in and told the hostess we would like a table for ten preferably outside. A table was promptly set up for us in a perfect location on the sidewalk in beautiful downtown Sarasota. We were immediately given drink and late night dining menus. Most of us were hungry for more than what was offered on the late night menu and the delightful manager was kind enough to ask the kitchen to serve us the full diner menu. After the kitchen agreed, we all ordered a range of dishes and were more than satisfied. My choice was the Tuna, cooked perfectly over mushroom risotto. I tried my friend's salmon dish that was delicious as well. Many at the table ordered the 3 tacos and kale caesar which were big hits! After dinner we all ventured inside where we enjoyed the cool ambiance and friendly bartender. I cannot wait to return- Maybe tonight?!

Classico is located on the nicest corner in Sarasota. You can't do better if you want to eat, drink or listen to music outdoors. It's a good "bar food"restaurant, but it suffers from lackadaisical service from a very young staff and a lack of consistency: the menu changes, the prices change, and the draft beers and wines change, for example. One exception to the lackadaisical service: a young man named Christopher. He works hard, is there when you need him, but doesn't hover when you don't need help. Hopefully the rest of the staff will learn from him.

Found this restaurant by chance and had a great meal. They happily knocked up some pasta for my young daughter. Our waitress was very attentive and had good knowledge of the menu. The atmosphere was lively and the place was packed. Would have given it 5* except for the limited choice of deserts.

Fabulous place! Great food, very friendly staff, excellent drinks, well-rounded crowd. I'm only in town for a month and a half, and this place has been, by far, my most frequented locale. Highly recommended :)

Brand new place. Opened Feb. 16th 2013. Go check it out. This will be Sarasota's new hip place and I'm the first to Yelp it. So excited!! Don't worry my review is legit I'm not an employee or nor do I know the owner. But I did talk to them and they are awesome people. Due to the fact that they just opened their food was limited but stay tuned. We went there for drinks. So... we drank and drank and, well......drank!

Went for lunch-great service, and the cauliflower/broccoli flatbread was delicious. The strawberry napoleon for dessert wasn't too shabby either. my very critical husband had the fish tacos and said they were great. would definitely go back.

Service was great. Food was just okay. We ordered two Cubanos after lunch menu was being offered and they made them, so points for that. However, they were underwhelming at best. Possibly the dinner crew just didn't know the lunch menu. Regardless, I will be hesitant to give them another try when there are so many other options.

This seems to be the new hot spot in town. Place always has a good atmosphere. The drinks are good and usually have really good beer and wine specials. I was in there one night and they had half-off on a bottles of wine. Drinks are much stronger than their competition accross the street at cafe Epicure. Haven't tried the food yet so no comment there. Will edit review one way or another once I do.

From the window to the wall. Our party went here for drinks and dinner. Food, service ambiance all need serious help. Our server had 0 knowledge of the wine list and stuck his nose INTO the glass. All of the food orders were wrong and served to the wrong table.
