I just ordered a lunch special from the rude chinese lady behind the counter. Even though she's a miserable b$&!h the General Tso chicken was quite tasty. The rice was ok.

I think we can safely say that this place offers the worst Chinese food we've ever eaten. Bland, tasteless, and without any redeeming value at all. We recently ordered their Mongolian Beef. The woman at the counter looked at us with a blank stare, never smiled nor even seemed to be in the here and now. And, the place was just not clean. We wonder how they pass the food and cleanliness inspections. And, when we opened our order after returning home, it wasn't what we had ordered at all. It didn't even vaguely resemble Mongolian beef as we know it, but instead was some sort of strange concoction of stringy, fatty, meagre beef morsels, unrecognizable vegetables (?) and a watery, tasteless sauce. It was thrown away immediately. Steer clear of this place.

Worst Chinese food I've ever had, we ordered 3 different dishes ended up throwing out 2 of them, the chicken chow mien was not anywhere near real chow mein, they use those cheap crispy doey noodles and not the real fried rice noodle that real chow mien, this one got thrown out, really gross. The crispy chicken was more like sweet and sour chicken not the garlicky salty sauce that crispy chicken is supposed to be, there was very little actual chicken in all the breaking. The egg drop soup is bland. The egg rolls were the best part and they were only average.

We REALLY like the extremely fresh food that consistently comes out of this restaurant. Any protein and vegetable mix will knock your socks off with a generous portion of fresh ingredients. They do 'spicy' requests very well. They're super busy because they have a web ordering site and a constant stream of pick-up customers, yet they still manage to serve those who order in person on a very timely basis. We always tip for carry-out there because the desk clerk works like an Olympic athelete. A few tables for 'dine in' out of take-away containers w/plastic utensils, they'll bring out the food you order at the counter. While its menu is 'typical Cantonese', this is our go-to Chinese carry-out place, even though it's a 15-minute drive away from our home. Strongly recommended, they will not disappoint.

Food was a terrible disappointment. Spare ribs had a chewy hard skin and the meat was very tough. Never thought I could ever say that about spare ribs. The Pork fried rice was taseless, the won ton soup was below averagel. The broth was greasy yet had sweet after taste. The crab rangoons also had a sweet taste to them. Overall the meal was a huge taste failure.

Everything is relative but my wife and I have had several excellent dishes from China Taste. We order for home delivery and they almost always get it right. Did forget the plum sauce for MooShoo Pork one night. Food is above average, 8 on a 10 point scale. Service excellent.

I like it that they close at 10:30 on the weekends! Not the best, but it'll hit the spot if you're starving.

Unfortunately there is never very much to write about the Chinese food scene in Sarasota. Prior to Sarasota I lived in DC where Chinese food is somewhat of a high art second only to New York and San Francisco. Having lived in Sarasota for 20 years I have resigned myself to just barely average food. This restaurant is really just a takeout place. There are a few tables (maybe 6) available and you place your order at the counter. Sometimes you just get a hankering for Chinese food although you don't expect much and in my last visit it met my low expectation. More than a better chef/cook they need some lessons in phone etiquette and in store hospitality. Once my phone order was placed and complete you're greeted with the sound of a phone hangup. It would be nice to be told "it will be ready in 10 minutes" or at the very least an "okay thank you." They don't ask for a name or phone number and match orders to people by taking a good guess. On a past visit when they were busy, this caused endless confusion. At pickup the complete conversation was "are you the sweet & sour pork?...$9.53". My credit card was run, the receipt placed in front of me and the counter person had a conversation with a nearby employee. I signed and turned and left without a word. I don't think I'm overly sensitive and the lack of English skills doesn't wash either. The woman at the counter has been the same person for years and I assume by her demeanor and actions, the owner. The counter behavior is the same if they are busy or not. On this last visit the only other customer was a single person reading the takeout menu. I picked up only sweet and sour pork. I've had many of their other items from their very long menu, including "Chef Specialties". Nothing is very impressive. The sweet and sour pork where doughy globes with no particular flavor. They were fried to a nice color but had no character or crispiness. I know fried things of this nature don't hold or travel well but these never had anything going for them to begin with. The sauce, which is packaged separately, is an overly sweet orange concoction without the traditional pickles or pineapple. Not sure what the "sour" aspect of this dish is as they prepare it. It was as plain and tasteless as it could be. If McDonald's added sweet and sour pork to their menu, this would be the mass produced rendition. There are better Chinese restaurants in Sarasota, but sometimes that hankering and laziness (it's the nearest to me) combine for a very disappointing meal.

I have lived near this takeout for 5 years and finally tried it! I always get shrimp lo me in and fried rice whenever I order Chinese. It was vey fresh and tasty! Egg roll was greasy but that's a minor issue. Recommend this place for a quick take out meal!

My previous review reflected an experience from earlier this year. I just went yesterday, and apparently the place has a new name; I'm uncertain whether it's under new ownership. I am certain, however, that the food is now significantly worse than it was just a few months ago. I ordered Singapore Noodles and Sesame Chicken. In the noodles previously the vegetables were crisp and fresh, now they are limp and just not very tasty. The Sesame Chicken was similarly not crisp, the broccoli scarce and not of any semblance of quality. I might try it one last time to put the nail in it, but what a disappointment from before.

This very good Chinese. "Clean", not too oily and fresh. I'll admit that the closer you get to an Asian community the better the Chinese but....this is Sarasota, Florida. If you live nearby or passing through...give it a try!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
