I'm so surprised about all the bad reviews.this is absolutely the best Chinese food on town.food always hot and fresh. The service was excellent.the dumping are soooo yummy and so is the crab Rangoon. The spring roll actually taste fresh. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good quality chinese food around Sarasota.

Call for pickup gentleman who answered the phone was very rude and short with me I told him to cancel my order and to never nevermind.

WORST food I ever had. Maybe it's because I'm from NYC where the best Chinese food to be had is there. But maybe it's because all dishes we ordered were just tasteless, the stir fried green beans were limp . On the check out line at the local supermarket I heard the same comments from another unsatisfied customer.

I got vegetable fried rice, which most of the vegetables were freeze dried type. The mushrooms were also. Not fresh at all. The chicken and broccoli was swimming in oil and the chicken was not cooked all the way. Very soft "chicken"? Also thin shavings of what looked like chicken fat. I threw that out entire dish. It looked like 4 people working. 3 were sitting in front of the resturant and 1 cooking. Very disappointing.

THEY DELIVER, are Vegetarian friendly and can understand technical requests over phone (no communication issues). I've had bad chinese all over the country (especially in Pittsburgh and Olympia), and this place is not bad AT ALL. In fact, it's my favorite in town, even over overpriced big name places like The Drunken Poet (although Poet is Thai fusion and not Chinese). I always get the tofu general tsao's. They are little firm squares of crispy bite size popcorn style tofu in the sauce...EXCELLENT!! $8 or so. Ask for it to be EXTRA crispy. The mixed vegetable dish has a sauce that really pops with flavor, not greasy and veggies are not cooked to death. $8 or so Both entries above come with white rice and when I asked them if I could sub white rice for veggie fried rice, they easily understood and completed the order correctly! special request was $2.50 but I gladly pay that for awesome flavored veggie rice over basic white rice. Plus, they DO NOT USE EGG in their veggie fried rice! How wonderful! There is nothing worse that being vegetarian, ordering a veggie dish, only to realize the cook used meat products in it. The delivery was fast too! When I think about the places I have spent $30 on around the country for Chinese food, this one excels above and beyond. If you think this food is bad, you must have unrealistic expectations and/or have never had poorly executed chinese food. You can do a lot worse and pay a lot more in this city, trust me. The food is very good, the prices are perfect and the delivery is fast. The pictures do not

This is a great menu and delivery service. I don't know why Yelp doesn't list it as delivery but it has prompt and friendly service. (Please tip the delivery drivers!) If you go to their website, you can order right online, pay for it with a card, and even include special notes. I ordered their Mu Shu Vegetable, which is very hard to find, and it was excellent and a huge serving! I like to get extra rice pancakes with it, so I just typed in "extra rice pancakes, go ahead and charge me for them", and that's what they did for only a dollar. I also requested plasticware and napkins - its very cool to be able to write them a note. Next time I would ask for extra plum sauce, as I like a lot and it was a small container. Their fried rice was very tasty too.

Wow! Not only is the food exactly what I expect for American Chinese food, but the service is second to none. Tonight, I went in and ordered take out. After I got home, and fed my dogs, I opened the bag and realized that one of my dishes was wrong. I picked up my cell phone to call them (not to complain, just to let them know that I received someone else's food!), there was a knock at my front door. It was the gentleman that I placed the order with, bringing me the steamed dumplings that I ordered! The strange part is, I always go in person for take out, whereas my husband calls in for delivery. He's actually out of town today, but they did attempt to call his cell, to fix the mistake before delivering it to me! Thank you China Taste for going the extra mile. You far exceed my expectations when it comes to great customer service!

Ordered delivery to local hotel. Food was okay... Typical Chinese delivery. However, all reading this should never order from this establishment. I saw the driver pull into the hotel. I went to lobby to meet him so he wouldn't have to take the elevator to my room. I somehow missed him in lobby and returned to my room where he was waiting at my door. I explained what I had done and he proceeded to tell me to "hurry up, I've got to go". And "that was stupid, I've never met you how could I have known who you are". I asked him to settle down, after all I was trying to help him out and I had just ordered a meal from his restaurant... His customer right? I signed the receipt and as he was walking away he called me a 4 letter vile name. I was in shock. I called the restaurant and complained. This restaurant should fire the driver immediately. No questions asked. This driver obviously doesn't recognize or value that customers like me and you provide his employment and pay his paycheck.

Really Tasty! It's a clean place but more importantly, the food is good. Pleasantly surprised since I really don't like many Chinese places ;D

I have only ordered orange chicken here nearly 10 times. Every time is exactly the same and delicious. I love I can get a small which is just under $7 but still has a lot of food for one person. This is the only place that Chinese food doesn't make my stomach feel ill. I'll only go here from now on

A step above the typical Mom & Pop Chinese take out places you find in strip malls. I like that you can see the entire kitchen from the take out counter - everything looks clean, fresh and the owners (?) seem to take pride in the restaurant and are friendly. Sarasota really needs an upscale Chinese restaurant (this isn't it) but until we get one - this is the best you can get in the neighborhood.

This place is in the Siesta Dr Publix. It doesn't look like much, I would advise take-out because there's not much ambience but the food is terrific. I grew up outside NY so New York style Chinese is what I look for. This is the best I've found in 5 years in Florida. Lo Mein is excellent and portions are large, the place is clean and the staff if friendly.

Aside from my initial review of "China Taste" here in Sarasota back in June of last year. I've continued to order "Take Out" at least once every two months or so. I always make my orders via their website which is pretty good in a basic manner. My only beef (pun intended) is that there isn't an option to first log in before having to select ones full order before payment. Also the last 2 times I've ordered "Bourbon Chicken" via the website. I'm getting delivered a "Bourbon Pork" instead it sure doesn't look or taste like chicken to me. Besides their "House Special Fried Rice" is mediocre I would avoid it. I have yet to taste a Chinese Fried Rice that is excellent in Sarasota. I've only had the pleasure at two eatery's in Miami over a decade ago. Other than that the steamed dumplings are excellent as an appetizer. Much like "Denise A." recommendation the "Moo Shu" was an experiment on my part independent of her review. I ordered the Vegetable variety and it was delicious and the portion sizes were great. A unique kudos as a minor detail their sales receipt of my take orders. Always comes bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English.

For a while, this restaurant served reasonably good, tasty Chinese takeout...not the best in Sarasota, but good enough. They had good sized portions at very reasonable prices. Well, the portions have stayed the same, but my recent lunch was bad enough that I actually threw it out and had a sandwich instead. The hot and sour soup was neither hot or sour in fact it almost had no taste..with undercooked pieces of bamboo shoots that were still partially hard. My chicken in garlic sauce, ordered "very spicy" (which was repeated back to me) had no spice and even worse, no flavor...it was essentially chicken with some vegetables in brown sauce. I don't know if I caught a bad day...but read the other reviews...I'm not alone. Try at your own risk....

For what it is - it was good. We didn't feel like going anywhere tonight so we ordered for delivery (even ordered on line - total plus). It took about an hr and the website quoted 45 mins but again we didn't want to go anywhere and it wasn't super late. One thing my boyfriend and I liked was the option for small or large. We were able to get a few things since we ordered smalls. We had spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, beef Choy mein, chicken chop suey, pork fried rice and beef and broccoli. Everything was still nice and hot. The only thing I didn't care for was the chicken chop suey but that is probably personal preference. All this was under $30 with the $1 for delivery you really can't go wrong !!! Overall I'd definitely order from there again. Good food - I've definitely had worse Chinese for a whole lot more money.

For a typical "take out" Chinese restaurant, I thought the quality was much better than usual. I ordered 3 things and all were the way I like it. I have experienced SO much poor quality Chinese food recently that this was a nice surprise. I will be back again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
