Our plan for Friday night when having a birthday weekend staycation at the beach with friends was to have Pizza for dinner. Having no idea where we were going to order from, I yelped it. What a great choice, the pie was delicious. The delivery guy even asked us how we heard about them. Seriously, what delivery person ever cares about how we have heard about them. All in all a great experience. We will absolutely do this again.
The high number of five star reviews from people who either have very few reviews, or nearly all five star reviews, has me a little curious about this place. Anyway, they have above average food, they deliver all up and down the beach, but the prices are a little high, and the food really doesn't set itself apart that much. They also don't seem to have a website, so you have no way to know if there are specials you're not getting when you call, since the people answering the phone don't always seem to know about the specials posted on their front door even if you ask about specials. For kids, unfortunately they do not sell pizza by the slice. The closest they get is a two slices and a soda deal that is available during the day but ends around 5 or 6p. After that, the only option for a kid is a full 8" pizza. Inside there are about four four top tables and a beverage cooler. There's no view so it's really just a place to sit and eat if you want to be in the A/C and not go back to your hotel or house. If you really want some good Italian food and a sit down restaurant, I'd recommend Vito & Michael's a little further up the beach if you're headed that way, or Gennaro's down on Pass-A-Grille if you're headed south. If you want a great pizza slice, and/or outdoor seating, Buona Pizza mid-beach in the Publix plaza is the place to go (they delivery too).
I hate to bring the average down, but I don't see why everybody says this pizza is so good. I'd say slightly above average. I would've only given it three stars, but the staff was really nice, plus it's the start of a holiday weekend so I'm in a good mood. Anyway, I ordered carry out, just a simple pepperoni pizza. The crust was decent, pepperoni was ok, but I've definitely had better cheese and there was virtually no sauce on this pizza. It was almost like eating cheese bread. I didn't try any of their other food, so I can't comment on that. Highly doubt I'll be back here; such a shame. I was so excited to see a five star average. What a disappointment.

Very tasty homemade pizza. The thick crust pizza is more like a loaf of yummy buttery bread topped with delectable toppings. Great service. Would recommend to any out of towner try this place. Very small beer menu.
Picked up a pizza here around 2am last night (they're open til 4am everyday; how awesome is that??) and first, I couldn't believe I've never checked in and second, I was shocked to see I've never reviewed this place as I've been here 10 times, easy. Anyway, by far one of the top three pizza places in the Tampa/St. Pete area. Genuine NY style like it's actually made in NY, not some imitation NY pizza. Perfect crust - not too doughy or dry and not too thick on the edges. I'm not sure where they get their mozzarella and pepperoni from, but they're some of the best I've ever had. Very greasy, but that's what makes a good pizza, as far as I'm concerned. The mozzarella sticks are actually triangles but for $7.95 for three triangles, it's a little overpriced, as they're not that good. Which is ironic, considering how good the mozzarella on the pizza is. But the pizza more than makes up for that. The staff is always very, very nice and they have yet to screw up an order or not be on time with a carry out. The restaurant portion is very small and they do have regular Italian fare, which I've heard is very good and I will definitely try. It's just so hard to pass up their pizza. Also, be advised that parking is extremely limited so be prepared to take a little stroll if you go there during dinner hours, especially on the weekends. But all in all, for pizza in Florida, this is as good as it gets. I'm a loyal customer.
I visited this pizzeria after a strong recommendation made by an Italian New York City native. Like him I agree this is the best pizza in town. The most notable difference when you eat it is that it does not have that overwhelming salty taste found in so many other pizzas. I also had an anti pasta salad which was competitively priced and quite good with fresh vegetables. The pricing is based on the size of the pie and each topping is added separately. A medium pizza was about the size of a large pizza at other competitor places. Given the size of the pizza this place has good value. The setup of the restaurant is a dine in or take out, nothing fancy. But it's a pizzeria, and on the beach, so what can you expect . the negatives are mainly related to the logistics of getting your pizza. Parking spots are few and they don't have delivery.

This may sound vindictive, but oh well. We stopped by last night around 7:30 pm for dinner. The place was half full, no one waiting for a table. And the hostess told us that without a reservation we couldn't be seated. Notice that I didn't say the hostess said, "We prefer you make a reservation, but if you don't mind waiting for a half hour or so at the bar [which was COMPLETELY empty] we'd be happy to sit you." No reservation...no table. Did I mention they were only about 1/2 full on a Saturday evening? It certainly didn't look like Le Bernadin, and if there were people waiting I'd be a little understanding. We'd just come from a party at the Don Cesar and were dressed and polite. So it wasn't us. We left. Can't totally trash the place since we didn't get a chance to try anything. But you don't even want my money - you'd prefer to leave empty tables on a Saturday night? I don't understand.
The best little German restaurant anywhere. Small menu but everything is cooked to order and it's done perfectly! Have many favorites, but the weinerschnitzel is better than any I had when visiting Germany. And my husband and I can't say enough good things about Manuela (Ella), the person who serves in a more than efficient manner while constantly being kind, caring and upbeat. She makes us feel like we are in her own private dining room. Be sure to make a reservation ahead as the dining room is small and only will serve the number of people it can serve comfortably and efficiently.
Look, I never write reviews...but I was so impressed with this place I had to give everyone a heads up. I found it on trip advisor...but when I showed up the place was EMPTY! I usually don't go to restaurants that don't have some traffic, but I was tired and wanted to get back to the hotel. In the end...This place is freaking amazing...the schnitzel is out of this world and the service was impeccable. I guess it is St. Pete's best kept secret???

What a great place. We have been here twice now. Once for brunch and once for lunch. The food they serve has always been excellently prepared, servers are very friendly and take care of everything you need and prices are pretty decent. A word about the food - I'm a bit old fashioned in my tastes, I like simple - my fiancé on the other hand loves a mix of flavors with all kinds of different things going. This is HER type of place. It's very very good, but there a LOT of different flavors going on. My suggestion - try the chicharron. You won't be disappointed.
There are two types of reviews I look forward to - the "I'm going to kill this restaurant once I get back on yelp because this place sucked" kind of review (I'm not good at naming things), and the "5-star oh my lord this was terrific" review. This is the latter. Castile is a nice restaurant situated in the Hotel Zamora on St. Pete Beach, maybe 1/4 mile north from the Don Cesar. It is a boutique hotel with a rooftop bar and this restaurant. Our plan was to watch the sunset from their rooftop bar, but it was closed at this hour on Sunday (8:15). No matter, we sat on the patio overlooking the pool area and enjoyed the outdoors. Granted, it was a hot and humid Florida summer evening, but at least that means my girlfriend gets to enjoy me sweating the whole time, and we all know how appetizing that can be. Okay, moving on...It is a very nice restaurant from the ambiance perspective. Can be romantic, minus the sweat factor, and would be good for a group as well. On the fancier side, but this is Florida at the beach, so fancy equals khaki shorts instead of cargo shorts and only your Sunday best sandals, too. If there was anything bad, besides my girlfriend having to deal with my sweat, and her entree not being as tasty as mine, it would be our service. I can't take off a star for it because the food for me was that good, but it probably deserves 1/2 to a full star less. We were sat, and waited 5-10 minutes to be greeted. Once greeted and told about the menu, the server offered to give us a few minutes, but instead gave us 10+. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and my girlfriend ordered a glass of wine with dinner. Appetizers came out 5-10 minutes later, but still no wine at that point. Finally, we were halfway through our meal when the server asked us if we were brought any bread. All in all, he seemed incredibly disinterested in our table. He was knowledgeable about the menu, but not attentive. Onto the food. We both loved the tuna poke appetizer. It was raw, above sushi-grade tuna served mixed with some minced pickled veggies, like a salsa. A bit spicy, but far from overwhelming. You could have served this in a bowl and i would have eaten it. In fact, you could have served this in a doggie bowl, and I would have gotten down on all fours and devoured it face first. Probably a good thing it was served on the table on a plate. My next course was the roast chicken, which was served over a vegetable ratatouille and a green peppercorn jus. Mouthwatering is the only way to describe it. That, and too small. Seriously, next time, bring me the entire chicken drowning in that sauce. Better yet, drown me in that sauce. Gluttony aside, it was a fine size portion and filling, especially with the appetizer and too-late bread I was using to soak up the extra sauce. Final course was dessert. Chocolate lava cake. Admittedly, not the best chocolate lava cake I have ever had, but it was still very good and frankly, nothing was going to bring this meal down, and certainly not molten chocolate goodness.
Came here for a 7:30pm reservation on a Friday night. we wanted to do outdoor patio seating but due to rain we had to be inside. The downside: -SO LOUD. could hardly hear our party -drink wasn't great so had to send it back for another -The roof isn't open for patio service at all (downside because they advertise as having a "rooftop bar") -Did I mention SO LOUD? The good: -mahi mahi special was ver ygood, portion was a perfect size. -server was EXCELLENT. Funny, attentive, and great. Overall, I have experienced better @ other local places and will not come back due to the size and "Cheescake Factory" feel.
