Lunch today at Ramanos by the beach was a pleasant surprise. I got a turkey cold sub and it was delicious and HUGE!!!!!! A large is 22 inches and the half was 11 inches of chewy Italian bread!!!!Home made chips topped off this meal. Our server was very good considering she got slammed two minutes after we arrived. She went from 2 people to 16 instantly!!! I wish I knew her name so I could give her kudos for handling the rush very well. Will surely go back here and very soon!!!!!
The place is nothing fancy, but the food was good. Had some sandwiches for lunch and they were excellent.
Great NY/NJ pizza! in Fl, who knew. I got a small pizza, so NY style. Hubby has been pining for a eggplant parm hot sub; and he found it here. Both as good as expected in the traditional eastern way. An employee was bragging about being from Cherry Hill, NJ (next to Philly), guy he was talking to mentioned where he was from in the east, so we had to pipe in and say Rockland County, NY; and a table of retired ladies added Dutchess and Nassau County to the collection of eastern areas. Only NYers/NJers would give such a "cheer" for the east coast! Felt like home. So if you love NY pizzeria food and are in the area, you have to go!

Overall pretty good. We sat upstairs inside by a window which can be open to feel the breeze, pretty cool. It has a sports bar feel to it upstairs. Reggae type music was playing and it was a good vibe though I suspect it would be a bit more rambunctious at night (we came for lunch). The service was decent, not overly personable but kept us stocked with napkins. We both got a burger which were very good. Mine had jalapeños, green and banana peppers and grilled onions. Both had cheese melted onto the party which is always a good touch. $35 before tip for two good sized burgers, fries, a beer for me and a margarita for her. I wasn't blown away by the place but wasn't disappointed either. It's worth stopping in.
Up-sell, up-sell, up-sell! The only reason this isn't a one star is that the food was fair. Not great - fair. Pros: Food was alright. Prices were a little below what I would normally expect from a beach gimmick place. AC worked. Cons: Our server would do well selling used cars. All spiel with little actual service. They actually stopped us on the middle of our order because their pager went off and "Someone's food is up". They came back 5 minutes later and we had to start over. Almost everything out of their mouth was an attempt to sell us something "not on the menu" or an upgrade to what we actually wanted. TV screens everywhere. Most were set to sports, but several were showing the latest Fox/CNN news churn, with lots of plane crash, ISIS and other uplifting stories that are just what you want to see when trying to relax at the beach. This place is obviously a drinking hole. Not the best choice if trying to find a meal for your family.
Stopped in here for our first night in St. Augustine and enjoyed the atmosphere. Laid back environment with live music upstairs, a patio, and a smaller quieter dining room as well! Service was a little slow but it was a busy Saturday in a tourist area so that's to be expected. Everybody liked their food although I'm convinced I had crab shell in my crab cakes, so maybe stay away from that! Overall, food was good and drinks were served in the typical take home souvenir glasses! We went back on our last morning for breakfast after hearing how great it was and were pleased too. Quick in and out before heading back and reasonably priced!
