Tried this place today although based on the reviews I read pertaining to service, I decided to try carry out. This was my first Pho (and Vietnamese in general) experience but with the good reviews of the food, I trusted fellow yelpers to steer us in the right direction! Needless to say, I was not disappointed. I tried the Raw Steak Pho and my wife tried the Chicken Pho and we did an order of 2 egg rolls, all to-go. The meal was ready on time when I arrived (10 minutes - not bad) and the servers were great, when they found out it was my first experience they took the time to explain how to serve the meals. They opened each box to show what was in them and how to prepare everything and explained all of the sauces. We got home and prepared both meals as they had prescribed, except I took all of my wife's onions and put them in my dish. I put all of the hoisin and some of the siracha in mine and mixed it all together and took my first taste and I was caught off guard by the five spice (or similar flavor) in the broth. I took another taste and it was......hmmm.....DELICIOUS! This was the most fragrant, flavorful, spicy, sweet, crispy, juicy, delicate mouthful of food I had tasted in a while. Maybe it was my inexperience of Vietnamese food but this seemed to stimulate many different senses all at once! The eggrolls looked fried but seemed to be lacking any of the normal grease you would see with fried eggrolls. They have a little different flavor than usual, a little closer to Thai eggrolls (except they didn't have rice paper wrappers) than Chinese or Japanese (they also didn't have wonton wrappers) and they came with a mildly sweet, watery looking sauce. Though interesting, and I was glad I tried them, I'm not entirely sure I would order them again. All in all, I am hooked and can say I will be trying other dishes on my brief lunch breaks, I highly recommend this place!

Went last week for lunch and had chicken and steak Pho. Was very impressed with meal and service. Both were great. This is my second trip here and I am really impressed with the food and attention provided by staff.

I have been several times and always have an excellent experience. The pho is very good as well as the spring rolls and rice plates. Prices are reasonable and service is good. It is the nearest to true Vietnamese food I have found in the area.

Took 45 mins for a Togo order. Received 3 shrimps for $10 small pho. Will not go back. The pho place at the mall is better!! Don't waste your time or money. You will be disappointed.

Clean establishment, friendly staff, and excellent Pho! I've been to a lot of Pho places and this one is up there on the ratings. I've been to some places where the broth is pretty blan and you have to add a lot of "stuff" to make it have flavor...not this place. My advice would be to taste it before you add anything! Definitely would recommend this place and if I'm ever in town again, I'll definitely come back.

Pho! like no other before!!!! and in Riverview!!!! What a wonderful meal. Writing this review makes me want to go eat there again, and again, and again! Great Service and friendly staff, clean and with great Pho, you have to try it, and be careful... When they mean big is really BIG! Huge Bowl! The egg rolls are perfectly done, not soaking in fat, they are perfectly done. You have to try this.

I have high standards when it comes to Pho (I'm Asian :P) and I was honestly surprised that everything was delicious! We ordered the summer rolls, one combination pho to share and 2 platters of the porkchop with shrimp (added fried egg but it was extra). The pho broth was really tasty. The waiter was really nice. Service was great. I loved how the place was packed (came on a Sat). That means that the food is fresh and is constantly being replenished. I will for sure come back! The only thing is that they don't have dessert, but other than that, it's a great Viet place.

Great pho! The service is also great. There's only 2 places in the Tampa area that I'd go for Pho, and this is one of them! A dead giveaway are the number of Vietnamese patrons that are repeat customers. So they're doing something right. Also like their pork chop rice plate, spring rolls and coconut juice with coconut. The only negative I've noticed are the meatballs in the Pho. They used to be bigger sizes and now, they're sliced in thinner portions. Used to work in a top-rated Vietnamese restaurant and have seen the cooking process of Pho done by the Vietnamese cooks.

Served by Kevin, he was very nice polite and had no issue making sure my girlfriend had no basil because of her food allergy. Kevin even went back to make sure the food was prepared correctly for us. We asked what his favorite was because we have never been here before, he recommendid the combonation with the Bo Bun Hue. AWESOME! Going to be coming back. Ordered a large and wanted more.

What a great addition to the Riverview area. I've been here twice now. The first time I got the Noodle bowl with beef and the second time the Pho with rare beef. Both dishes were fantastic. They give you plenty of accompaniments for the soup and they have the best egg-rolls I've ever tasted. The servers are extremely polite and courteous, although at times they kitchen seems to be a bit slow. The pho was so tasty and the portions are huge. Definitely give it a try!

Nice little restaurant. I ordered the Pho with everything in it. The sprouts looked fresh as well as the other garnishes. I should have tasted the broth before adding all the veggies and sauces but after adding them, the broth was very tasty. There was a good about of meat added also. The portion for their medium size was filling; I don't think I could have finished a large. I'll definitely be back for more.

Good, decent pho. Ate here two days in a row. First day, I ordered the chicken pho and loved the broth, but the chicken was a bit dry. Second day, I asked for the pork chops with rice but was told that it would take too long to make since they hadn't marinated it yet. So I got the grilled pork with rice and added a fried egg to it. The pork was super tasty! It was so good that I ordered an extra side order of the pork and bowl of rice ($2 for the rice) since I couldn't get enough! The only issue was that they gave me a runny egg and despite asking them to cook another one (fried hard with no yolk), it still came out slightly runny. I gave up at that point and just concentrated on my pork. Would come here again.

This is one of my wife's favorites when she gets a craving for Bun Thit and Pho. Go with the grilled shrimp or pork, you can't go wrong!

My wife and I love coming here for the Pho when we are sick. Seriously nothing like a Pho Phull of tripe brisket and tendons to make you get better fast. I enjoy their noodle bowls very much. I do wish the meats would be hotter when they reach me but they do taste delicious cool as well. Come here to eat and just simply take a Keys view and sit back relax and enjoy!

I LOVE this place! I've been here probably over a dozen times and have never been disappointed! I love their lemongrass chicken noodle bowl and the chicken/shrimp noodle bowl as well as their pho, which come in HUGE portions! Also their lemonade is soooo good! They hand squeeze it to order! Prices are very reasonable and they are always very friendly.

Yay, yay, yay! I am so happy to have found a local pho spot in Riverview. It's not like there's a plethora of restaurants in this tiny little suburban enclave but this one is great. I have had all kinds of Pho from the flavorless to the super tasty and this place definitely serves up the flavorful tasty kind.

  • Brian M.

Don't get me wrong, the pho is good... there is a very limited menu for other things, but since most American go to Vietnamese restaurants for the pho, I guess that makes this place great for 95 % of you. They were out of durian and basil when I went last night. Poor first impression. I tasted my wife's pho and is WAS tasty, but I like to sample the whole menu. The beef and shrimp rice dish was tasty too, but the menu is very small is variety of dishes. Don't ask for vegetables like broccoli. Our server said we pretty much had the option of daikon and carrots. So overall, if you only want pho this place is good. Stop at the Publix next door though, and grab some basil.

Great Pho . All the ingredients were fresh. I ordered the chicken Pho and egg rolls to go. The parts of the dish were packed seprately and the server told me how to put them together when I got home so that I could have an authentic Pho experience. It is LARGE. I had to use one of my mixing bowls to put it all together. But it was good, I will get the Pho again. Egg rolls had ingredients I couldn't identify. It tasted good but will probably skip them in future.

I love coming here when I come home from college. Vietnamese food near UM are pricey and doesnt taste as great as Pho Hoang. Excellent service and food! Love their pork chop and eggs + avocado shake.

I never expect much service wise going into a vietnamese restaurant because on average it's always horrible, and it's the truth. Granted that they were young and inexperienced, if you don't care about service, that's ok, just make sure your people don't piss off your damn customers! After I finished eating, paid my check, left a decent tip and as I was walking out the door I was stopped and asked, "Excuse me sir, Did you pay your bill?" I'm telling you, that's a great way to really piss people off. If you're too adhd then you give people the benefit of the doubt and ask your counter. I said yeah and pointed to the counter, she just looked at me as though she still didn't believe me. Food wise, I've had better. It's OK for an area that has very few if any other Vietnamese restaurants. Pho was salty and sugary. Bun bo hue lacked flavor.

I'm a vegetarian so I was a little disappointed this restaurant had no tofu offerings, but I had soup/noodle bowl with just vegetables and was extremely satisfied. It was fresh and delicious. Our waiter was friendly, and we enjoyed the pretty murals in this small, clean restaurant. My boyfriend loved his chicken and rice dish. We will definitely be back.

Based on their chicken pho and a bowl of grilled chichen with vermicelli noodles, I would give this place a 5. But -1 for an okay service. We waited for a while even though there was a table available. And once we were seated, we still had to wait a while to get our orders taken. We also got some spring rolls and they're mighty good. I'd come back here again, with a less hungry stomach.

I really, really want to like you Pho Hoang, but you are making this so difficult. I wasn't super impressed last time I visited, but hoped that the lax attitude and kitchen errors were just due to being newly opened kinks. With so many good reviews lately I wanted to give you guys another shot to make you favorite Pho spot. Unfortunately this visit left me and my friend very underwhelmed again. Here is why. 6:50p I arrive and walk in. No one greets me so I seat myself to wait for my friend. There is a large family and two other tables seated that already have meals. The place has about 10-12 tables depending on size of your party. 6:55 A young man who appears to be the only staff comes to get my drink order. I order a water, cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee), and goi cuon(fresh springrolls). I see another couple come in, get seated, and begin to look at menus. 7:05 I get my water and springrolls as my friend arrives. 7:15 I ask about my coffee and give my entree order and my friend puts in her entire order. It is clear that he is the only person working. I start to wonder if this will be sub-par service visit #2...(I omitted a few comments about slow services the last review.) 7:25 My coffee arrives. ((It is much better this time than my previous visit!)) I watch as the couple who came in about 25 mins ago with still no drinks obviously frustrated with the slow service get up and leave. The server is no where to be seen. Not sure if he even saw them leave. 7:35 We ask about my friend's springrolls and are told just a few more minutes. I asked what the holdup was and he told me they have trouble hiring people and they are very busy(which is apparent). Only one person is in the kitchen. 7:40 My friend finally gets her springrolls. He brings the side veggies and limes and apologized - they are out of sprouts. At this point I have been here 45 mins and he tells us they're out of one of my favorite parts of the meal. (Publix is 200ft down in the same strip mall) I definitely said something to the effect of getting some at Publix, too. Smart alec-y, maybe, but I've already been here almost an hour. 7:50 Our pho comes out and after adding the hoisin, sriracha, and lime I am finally ready to dig in. Five minutes in to my pho, the table next to us gets a boatload of sprouts. Pretty sure I had an epic grinch face when I saw this. Server never asked if we would like some. The pros: The food is good! Portions are HUGE. Restaurant is clean. I had no problems with my order being wrong this time, and what we did order was fresh and tasty. The service s in need of some serious improvement. It sadly didn't stop being bad after we were already there for an hour and a half. As we finished with our meal about 30 min later, having not seen the server once after he dropped off the pho, our table full of empty plates and glasses, we had barely made a dent in the huge bowls and wanted to-go containers. We waited five more mins while he ran around the restaurant paying zero attention to me staring at him to catch his attention to ask for the containers. Finally, I just got up and asked the other lady wearing an apron for them. She acknowledged my request and ran to the kitchen, but then never came back! At this point, I was irritated. When the young man came out a few more minutes later we immediately asked for the check and gave him our cards at the same time as he took our bowls to the back to be put in the to-go containers. They came out a few mins later with our receipts. Our bill was $50 for coffee, two springrolls, and two large pho. I would love to have just one good overall experience here. If you have two hours to burn for soup, it is worth visiting here. Sadly, I do not plan to return any time soon.

Pho is one of my favorite dishes for years, so I was excited to see this new restaurant open. I usually go to Miss Saigon in Brandon.( when I have my cravings, which is like once a week!) This restaurant is clean and the servers friendly, however the "homemade" hot chile pepper sauce was totally not the same thing that 99% of the US is used to. Most restaurants have the same couple of brands they use. Theirs was a weird smoky, chunky, separated oil sort of thing. I made the mistake of using it on my Pho. A Pho that lacked dimension to begin with, unfortunately. I was also hoping the Pho would make up for the bad timing of my rolls, which all came out at the same time. I don't believe I will be back....I just get the feeling that the word is getting out about yummy Viet food finally and some are trying to capitalize on it without delivering the real goods here!

So yummy! The beau and I tried this place last month and we want to go back so bad. He had the beef pho and I got chicken pho. Think it was slightly rainy outside, so it was the perfect meal. The waitress was very polite and prompt with our orders and getting our soups out to us. The place had very minimal decor, but I didn't come here for fancy decor. I would definitely come back here again and recommend this place to anyone who likes a great bowl of pho.

The food is not bad They make a little bit sweet but is acceptable , Just the service is really bad, No one greet us and wait for 10 mins for the menu, There were only other 2 tables, If they want more business they need improved their service

My wife and I have been here 5 times since it opened. We love it. I always order 7A - rare beef and brisket pho and she orders the grilled pork with rice entree. Very friendly servers, affordable and healthy food. Try it out!

I have looked for a good Vietnamese place for a while and this one is the one. Their Pho is great. As others have said. They need to regulate the air conditioning better but overall it was great. I will most assuredly be back!

Food is fresh and delicious, good prices. However, we ordered 2 different kinds of meat in our Pho soups, but we got 2 identical bowls of Pho, neither one had meats we asked for, they only had base brisket. Also, we were sweating like pigs and later I saw that thermostat was set to 82 degrees, which is way too high for a place offering hot soups to people. They just opened recently, so hopefully will address these issues, but next time I am getting a takeout and eating at home.

I have been to dozens of Vietnamese restaurants all around the country. The Pho here is excellent. They are obviously not using paste for their broth but are going through the meticulous process of boiling beef or chicken bones herbs and spices to create the rich distinct flavor of Pho. In the Riverview and Brandon area they have no true competitor if you are seeking authentic styled Pho. For those who complained about the service give them a break they have only been open for a few months. This is a true Vietnamese restaurant, no Thai or Chinese selections like Saigon Corner Cafe in Brandon.

If I could i would leave no star rating! just terrible, service is bad. not enough help for phone orders kitchen and wait staff, they are so cheap to hire more help, they are actually are going to lose the business very slowly. they don't care if you ordered there 4 or even 5 times per week, there takeout out service is miserable, before i left work i called in order, knowing they are going to take forever i gave them about an hour. So when i got there unbelievably i waited another 40 minutes? so as i am waiting 4 or 5 others came to pick up which also had waited very long, as we waited the people that were waiting were real upset because it was taking too long and then walked out. Then finally my order was up so I asked for extra fish sauce. They wanted to charge me? Are these people serious?!! Then they charge you extra money for takeout?! And numerous amounts of times they messed up my order and never fix it the next time, and the portions seem like they are getting smaller and smaller every time, and when I last ordered the fresh spring rolls the shrunk in size to almost half! What a joke. These people have no concept of customer service and clearly are there for the short term, if you want your blood pressure to stay normal I don't recommend dinning in or taking out! And I can't even believe they have good reviews, which must have been in the beginning when the food was somewhat decent, but overtime it is in serious decline and I give this place less than a year before they go completely belly up.

This review is for the Pho-natics. I am a pho lover and I've been to all the pho places that are worth mentioning around tampa, st pete and brandon areas. The verdict is NOT GOOD. Compare to Pho An Hoa (Waters Ave, Tampa), Taste of Saigon (Park blvd, St Pete) and Thang Long (Park blvd, St Pete), this pho just does not compare. Start with the broth, it does not have the aromatic 'Pho' scent that you can sense right away as it is placed on your table. Second, the flavor is bland and does not have the apparent flavor of the 5-spice seasoning that is essential to the Pho taste. Then there is the noodle, a great pho rice noodle should be slightly elastic to the bite, and should not crumble into pieces in the broth. Lastly the wait time, there should only be up to 10 minute wait from the time you order your pho to the time it arrives at your table, because pho broth are kept hot throughout the day, and any good pho joint will have your order ready within five minutes of ordering. On both occasions, I had to wait 15+ minutes for my pho with a mildly busy restaurant. My purpose of this review is not to bash and I am not affiliated with any other restaurant, but it is in hopes that the owner/operator of this restaurant will read this and maybe make a change for the better.

Our favorite pho place! As its 5 mins from where we live lol when I feel lazy to cook, this will be 1st place me and my husband thought. Their pho broth are really good. I always order noodle blow with grilled beef and shrimp, full with favor and smell some lemongrass which I love!! Their egg roll are good also but it always taking long time to be serve. Service was great and server was nice!!

So call me behind on the times, but I had pho for the first time at Pho Hoang about 6 months ago. From the second I tried it, I was hooked. I have been to a few other pho establishments since then and got the pleasure of trying Pho Hoang again today. It is SO good. I recommend the rare beef pho (I'm easy). If you order it to go, they give you a huge box full of beef, rice noodles, basil, cilantro, onions, jalapenos, bean sprouts, and lime (along with the delicious sauces). The medium portion is more than enough for a meal and the broth is very rich and flavorful. I will not say that I am a pho expert by any stretch of the words, but Pho Hoang is pretty darn good to me!

stopped by on the way back home because my friend's throat was a little sore, and what's a better way to help with cold symptoms than with pho? I was really tempted to get the bun bo hue but opted to get the pho instead. You basically pay for the size and can choose from the different meat options. The medium was $9.50 and was MORE than enough, I was so full by the end. The broth was delicious, steaming hot & they gave you a lot of meat. I also ordered a viet iced coffee with the condensed milk and the summer rolls (the one wrapped in rice paper). I love strong coffee but I found myself scraping every last bit of condensed milk from my cup bc it was just too strong. The rice paper was really tough and there wasn't enough meat and shrimp I thought. The peanut sauce was a little different than the others I've had. It was really thick and seemed to taste more like peanut than a mix of that and hoisen. I wouldn't order that appetizer again.

This review is based on food, service, cleanliness, and general atmosphere. But first, I'd like to say my Vietnamese cuisine experience is limited to about 10 years, so I am no expert. But, I would like to share my dining experience compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I have visited. Today, I had a grilled pork sandwich. For the price I thought it was on the small side, but tasty. Everything was fresh, and the pork was cooked perfectly. I also sampled the pho, which I had last time I was here as well. I would say it is average, bordering on bland. I've had pho where I had cravings for it the next day; this was not that good. The service was good. Our server was very polite, and fast. The dining area was nice and clean. There is good selection on the menu, and most of it is reasonably priced. The atmosphere is austere, with acception to the painted wall murals. Three stars is middle of the road. There is nothing bad about this place. I've been here twice, and I may become a regular.

Monday night dinner we decided to do PHO Vietnamese cuisine. The service was very slow. Re place was kinda empty but every tables in there were dirty. After standing for about ten minutes we finally got a table that were dirty. The pho was just okay... Nothing to talk about. It will be awhile before I will be back.

Had been coming for a while and everything from the food to the service to the cleanliness was amazing. But went recently with my family and I was truly disappointed. Walked in and all of the tables...and I'm not exaggerating when I say all of the tables were dirty. Service was also not what it used to be and the food didn't taste the same. Really sad because we loved coming here and now I'm really not in a hurry to return. Hoping it changes.

The best option for Vietnamese food in the Brandon/Riverview area but that's not saying much as there are only two other places in that area (Pho Viet and Pholicious). While it's not bad, it's just not as good as anything on Waters Ave and the experience isn't as rewarding to me (I don't always get to practice my Vietnamese here.) The ambience is also not very exciting. If I'm in the area, I may stop by but it's not a place I'll make the effort for. Prices are a little higher than my favorite place in Tampa too. But again, it's A-OK for the area. Ba=3 stars.

Had a hangover, needed pho, this place saved my life. What more do I need to say?? Well for starters I'd like to point out you can get a giant bowl for about $10. When I mean giant, it's pretty big!!! I had pho for the rest of the day. Oh it was also mighty tasty! If you're looking for a quick decision I would recommend the pho Tai which is just beef strips, just in case you're wondering about the ball and other parts they put in which may not be everyone's cup of tea...heh jasmine tea. By the way, this location gives you culantro on the side to add in your pho. Not many locations do it and I instantly become a fan because it's one of the greatest things to put in pho, in my opinion of course. Went in, got a giant bowl of pho, hangover cured, Pranam left happy. The end.

Generally a good place to go for Pho. Sometimes they over load the noodles and skimp on the meat.

Got the chicken pho medium to go (twice) for work lunch. Their broth is amazing. I'm also super surprised by how much they give on the side (basil, lemongrass, rice noodles, jalapeño, lime, onion, sprouts & sauces). It's just PILED in the to go box! Also try the iced Vietnamese coffee. It's a treat but so worth it.

After the Guitar Concert we have decided the Vietnamese restaurant is the one we want tonight. The first Vietnamese restaurant that we have selected is close on Sunday; as a result, we came to this restaurant. We have select this restaurant due to they serve one of the pho that I want to try at below review. The restaurant is easy access since they are close to I-75 exit. This is a neighborhood Pho restaurant. The pho they served is a bit different then most of the Vietnamese restaurant. I believe they have added slice root material to make the pho taste with a bit of cinnamon. They serve the pho in large, medium regular and baby size. The baby size pho is $4.95. Tonight we have order the grilled pork chop, a baby pho with rare beef, tripe and tendon and the dish we were here for - Bun Bo Hue. The grilled pork chop is accompany with a grilled shrimp and fried shrimp roll. The grill pork chop is tasty but they are not cook through the bone. The meat near the bone is still rare. The grilled shrimp is great. Next time I will get the grilled pork (slice pork without bone) and shrimp. The baby pho is great with the rare slice beef. I love that pho. The main event is Bun Bo Hue - a popular rice vermicelli (they use egg noodle) dish prepared by simmering beef bone and beef shank. The broth has added chili oil for appetizing spicy taste. It also includes cubes of congealed pig blood and makes it delicacy to eat and enjoy. It has a choice of large or regular bowl size. The service is good. The price is very affordable compare to the surrounding restaurant. I will come back for more.

We've eaten here multiple times, per other reviewers suggestions, I finally got Pho and it's my new favorite! I ordered the a7 with a side of egg rolls. I've only had that dish and their bun-rice noodle bowls. The bowls are good but their definitely known for their Pho!

I won't lie about Pho Hoang. It's ok. Service was awful, but anticipated. It could've been the help wanted sign on the door. They are hiring for servers, cooks and kitchen. Everyone that we saw working here up-front had to be under 17. The menu is long; really long and not in a good way. There are over 30 variations of pho here. This place is also super expensive. It cost my mother and I $30 for two medium bowls and spring rolls; no sodas. I probably won't ever go here again. But if you're in the area and want some pho, this place is okay.

  • Melissa V.

This place wasn't too bad. The servers were nice and the environment was good. The only thing I would change is the pho. The noodles were not soaked in the broth enough so it came out kinda soft and hard. It was not a pleasant meal. I won't be coming back too soon.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I just recently got introduced to this Pho phenomenon. I will preface that both times I've been able to enjoy Pho has been at this restaurant and I can officially say I am in love with Pho. I'm not a big soup person to begin with, but the flavors and experience here has made me a fan. I'm so glad that I work near this place so I can now feed my Pho cravings whenever they surface!

I have procrastinated writing this review forever. Don't want to be the one to downgrade an obviously popular restaurant. Hubby really wanted to try some Pho, and I'm game to try most new things so we came here for a late lunch. Typical strip mall place, nothing fancy at all, but it was quite busy for 3 in the afternoon. Waitstaff was just ok. We ordered some egg rolls first. Not like the ones I'm used to but good. Ate them all. Then we got our bowls of Pho along with a plate of bean sprouts and fresh cilantro/basil. Loaded my bowl up with bean sprouts and also added some cilantro/basil both things I enjoy a lot . Now the first bite....noodles were good, beef was just ok if you could find any, and the meatballs were so so. I did not like the taste of the broth at all. I tried to figure out what that flavor was that was so unappealing to me. The "minty" flavor did me in. I think it may have actually been anise...not for me. I remember seeing shows on TV where they ate Pho in Vietnam. Their bowls were loaded with stuff. I found ours quite sparse. I think our bill was around $26 and no way 2 bowls of soup and a few tiny egg rolls (we drank water) were worth the cost. I really wanted to like this, but alas, it just left me....well.....hungry.

My mom and I have been coming here for over a year now and the food has always been spot on for us. Better than a few other places that we've tried. Never had any problems with the service until recently. I consider myself to be more patient than most, but the last few times have been testing. We were completely ignored the last few times we've been there. Really disappointing.

Wife and I finally got brave and tried pho. After reading all you yelpers loving pho and the good reviews pho hoang gets, off we go. We live near here so it is very convenient. We ordered the egg rolls, me the steak and chicken, wife the steak and meatball. The egg rolls came first. The waitress brought the rolls and several other things. I told her we were first timers and then she explained everything she brought out. She was awesome. Then the pho came. For those who dont know it, like us, I really can't describe the taste. Keep in mind we had no reference point other than you, pho fans. I can only describe the taste as refreshing, although hot in temperature and tasted light and fresh. I know this tells you nothing but you just have to taste it. I liked it very much, wife not so much. It had enough meat in it for me and the medium was plenty. Loved the noodles. Pho Hoang is a pleasant little place, service was fine. I would pho again, probably when wife does her Rhode Island trips. I'll give it 4 stars, no issues and good eats.

Rare steak Pho & Chicken pho. Flavorful, delicious, and out right authentic. Love this place

This place is always busy, and for a good reason. I had the rare beef and flank pho and my boyfriend got the rare beef and meatball. Both were amazing and the portion size is huge. I also got the iced coffee with condensed milk and it was the best I've had, even as a coffee obsessed college kid. I wish I had stopped here sooner, I left with enough food for the next day too! Highly recommended

When I am in the mood for vietnamese, there are two places in tampa and this is one of them for sure. Having been here many times and being a fan of Viet. This is truly a good place. Always Consistent with the portions and flavor. We've even done to go orders and it keeps well.. definitely a place you you try if you like authentic Vietnamese.

I saw lots of folks going inside and I've always wanted to try Pho! So glad I did! Listened to the Yelpers and naturally they didn't steer me wrong. I got the chicken pho which was really good and fresh. I got a baby pho and it was plenty. I also wanted to try the noodle bowl with shrimp which I was good but the egg roll that came with it was amazing! I will definitely be going back. And the young guy (dark curly black hair) that helped me chose my dishes and explained in detail. How to put it all together because I was taking it out, was just as impressive.

The Pho is fair, I had better. The food is too pricy for the amount you get, the broth is not as rich as it should. If you place to go order, they charge you extra for the containers, which I never heard of.

I could eat the Chicken Pho from here every week! Delicious food and Delightful staff, I would recommend this place to anyone. And my order is usually done in 15 minutes or less (great for a lunch break)

Tried the chicken pho it was excellent. The broth is super tasty and the aromatics on the side complented the broth in a beautiful way. I recommend this place

love this place! I come here at least once a week. Service is great! Small, cozy and just what we needed in riverview.

Very good Pho, I depended on my fellow yelpers to steer me in the right direction and I'm very happy with that decision. I was introducing Pho to a friend that had never enjoyed this wonderful meal before. I ordered the Chicken Pho and my friend ordered Chicken & Steak (comes raw unless ordered well-done). We also had an order of Egg Rolls, which were some of the best ever, not full of grease. Also, Spring Rolls came in a rice wrap and served with a delicious peanut and sesame sauce. The food is fresh and light, it's refreshing and filling instead of heavy and unsatisfying. I would recommend this Pho Restaurant to a friends

Too cold inside. Freezing! Noodles were ok, but the lettuce that comes with it was very cold, making the noodles cold quickly. So, all comes down to a matter of temperature...

I've had a lot of pho. And this one was awesome the small is a perfect size. I was surprised how great this place was because it's just tucked in a plaza. Food was out in like two minutes and so good

Well, this place has great potential. The pho is pretty good. The service is mediocre. The server looked pretty miserable (could've been bored?). The place doesn't LOOK very clean. Doesn't mean it's not; just the decor and bowls/utensils/cups could use some updating. They actually had a table turned over in the main dining area and were drilling holes in it and doing construction type stuff that I felt would've been more appropriate done outside in the back lol. It was weird and I kept picturing invisible dust and dirt flying into my food. At least do that outside of normal business hours ya know? Would we come back? Not sure. We've been there twice. Both times, the place activated my germaphobia. We'll see.

Had lunch yesterday and ordered the large portion of egg rolls. Delicious! They come out sliced in half so they are perfect for sharing. We asked for extra lettuce to wrap them in. Fish sauce for dipping was perfect and with a little bit of extra chili sauce--added the kick needed. Baby pho tai was decent size for the tiny human with us. Came out as ordered. Very hot. Lots of noodles. Rice dish with pork chop was a hit with my cousin who said it was made exactly how it should be (we are Vietnamese), and the extra egg she ordered was exactly what was needed to complete the dish. I had a medium pho tai, sach and added meatballs. Not impressed with the meatballs...very fatty, but the soup itself was great. Left there very full and now we know where we can go to get our pho fix. Gets crowded quick...so if you go with a if group, you may need to wait. Worth it.

Why don't you know about Pho Hoang yet? I'll fill you in...Because it is brand spankin' new! Like so new that the walls don't even have soup spray on them yet. Not even any crust in the corners where the wall meets the floor. Recently erected in a pristine Publix plaza, however the Vietnamese community knows this place exists. Word spreads fast. Since we tried this place on a Sunday afternoon, it really started to get crowded. The servers are not ready for the rush yet, which causes the kitchen to get backed up. There was also at least one crying baby at any given moment. Sometimes one crying baby would stop crying to figure out what was wrong with the new crying baby that just arrived. So, we were entertained while waiting for the food. For the temperature of the dining area, it is just uncalled for. Seriously, I went over to the advanced AC display gauge on the wall that even had an LCD display that could tell you your horoscope--- they have the temperature set on 82 degrees knowingly! I feel bad for the servers and kitchen staff more than anyone else because they are running around all over the place. For the food, well it is straight to the point damn goooood. This is one of those hands-down, no messin' around joints: 1. Only two appetizers on the menu- Goi Cuon and Cha Gio 2. Entrée menu has various meat choices on only three dishes: pho, cold noodle bowl, rice plate (no fried rice, lol OMFG) 3. House specialty is Bun Bo Hue--- real deal style, containing blood cubes and trotters 4. Pho comes in three sizes from baby to Xe Lua 5. Hoisen sauce is not watered down Complaints: 1. No chunky hot sauce on the table. 2. Pho is a little sweet. 3. It is hot in the dining area.

Revisited Pho Hoang tonight. No overpowering air freshener smell. Very glad this was eliminated. My husband and I both had the 1D dish. Chicken rice noodle dish. Very good - we both enjoyed the food. Waitress was nice. Had a pleasant experience. We go there again.

I ordered 14A pho- it was ok. The broth is a bit lighter than what I expected. I got the medium size and bowl had a big serving of noodles but very little meat. I still think the best place in the area for pho is pho kien giang in St. Pete.

Best pho i have found in the area. I have tried others but none compare. They are always consistent with fresh food.

18A or 7A hands down. Very good pho, and the prices are looooowwww! Can't beat that.

  • Sarah V.

I had the 7A and it was absolutely amazing. I got the medium and it was HUGE! I like how you get to add everything in exactly how you want. It was really delicious. I think it's funny though that they charge .25 cents for the take out container! I keep coming back because it's really good. The egg rolls were also outstanding. Overall, I'm glad I tried this!!

I always crave pho. It's just an all around simple yummy soup. I come here a few times a month. I always get the chicken pho though i have branched out and tried the rare beef with brisket pho. Sooo yummy! Fresh cilantro and jalepenos. Goodies that you can throw in depending on you're taste preference. My hubby likes all that spicy shit. So he goes for all the jalenpenos, red pepper flakes, any spice that will kick it up a notch. They have small, medium, and large. Now the medium to us was massive...both my hubby and i couldnt finish either of ours. Its alot of soup! I cant imagine the large must be fit for a sumo wrestler appetite. I stuck with the small order of pho after going there for the second...third....fourth....ah yeah you get the point. Cant go wrong with this small place. I like it and i always come here. Highly recommend it.

Excellent Pho, especially the Combination Pho (Dac Biet). The Fresh Spring Rolls and the regular egg rolls are also very good. The portions are generous, a medium size is plenty for us. The Baby Pho portions for the kids is usually enough, though they often steal a some noodles from us.

Came in on a rainy day and it was perfect for a bowl of Pho. This little shop is located in the Publix plaza, hidden in the right corner. It wasn't too busy and there was two servers on the floor. I ordered a small pho with rare beef and meatballs. Somehow the meatballs never made it into my bowl. I tried to wave down a server but they weren't too attentive. The broth was pretty good. Its not the best I've had but its good compared to places in Sarasota. If I was driving on 75 then I would definitely try this place again.

We came here once a year ago and was extremely dissatisfied with both the service and meat inside the Pho. Gave this place another shot after a year and am glad we did. The meat the first time seemed like they walked over all Publix and bought some cheap steak and sliced it very thin. It was terrible the first time. Pretty much 50% fat. However, they improved a lot with the meat. Their sizes for the Pho are enormous. The medium is a huge bowel. I really cannot imagine what large looks like. My only gripe is that I feel their meat portions are small even with an extra order of it with your Pho. Next time I will try an addition 2 orders and see how it goes. The couple times we have gone there seem to be 2 servers. An older lady and a younger guy. Get the guy. Overall, 4/5 stars. Increase your meat quantity and you get 5 in my opinion because there are not many Vietnamese restaurants in Brandon that taste great.

  • Rosanne B.

Very good Pho! The medium is really a large. I couldn't even finish it, even though I was very hungry going into the restaurant. The egg rolls were also very good! Can't wait to try their rice dishes.

I found this place using Yelp to try some Pho that I was craving. We first ordered the spring rolls which was really good, the peanut sauce was ok. I orders the Pho with Brisket which is excellent. My husband got the Pho with flank steak and brisket which he really liked. My mother got the Pho with Chicken and my girls shared a steam rice with all the meats. They ate the whole thing and kids are pretty hard to please! The only complaint I have is that the Pho didn't have more meat! My girls got the smoothies which they liked. The service was good but when we were finished I had to flag down someone so we could check out. All in all this place is really good and we will definitely return!

Love this Vietnamese restaurant. It's casual and unassuming but their kitchen packs a punch with the delicious and authentic dishes it prepares. The servers are super friendly and it's a great place to stop for a weekday lunch. I can attest that the bun here is amazing! Looking forward to my next yummy trip to Pho Hoang!

This was our ABSOLUTE fav pho place and we been to MANY. However over the last few months things seem to be going down hill a lil. Portions seem to be getting smaller and smaller and the pho seems to be containing a lot more oil than normal. Think we may start making the trip to Waters Ave.

This place is sooooo good! can't decide if this place beats pho viet on 60 or not. I am giving this place four stars because their menu is limited. I tried to get make your own beef lemon grass wraps but unfortunately they don't carry it. Also they do not make thai teas! Big downfall for me but their pho is to die for! Their chicken and beef over rice is also very good and top it with an egg. I will definitely go back it was a very good experience.

Some of the best Pho I've ever had! And I've been to a lot of places. But prepare yourselves these guys pinch every penny. They do not offer sweeteners for your unsweetened tea (I have 2 diabetics in the family.) No refills on sodas. There is a 25₵ charge for to go containers. You do not go here for fine dining service. You will be seated, you will be served. You go here for the food.

I love their Pho!! I had never had it before & took the advice of one of the reviewers & got the rare beef brisket pho...It was amazing!! I have been back several times since. The staff is friendly, the food is great, portions are huge, & it is located close to where I work. I highly recommend the rare beef brisket pho.

Wow! Great stuff. Gotta thank the previous reviewers for getting this place on my radar. I live literally behind this place... walking distance. But I just never probably would've thought about trying Vietnamese food. I am fussy and am not good about trying anything exotic. But this was UH MAZING! I had the chicken with rice... the flavor of the marinated chicken was incredible. The sprinkled toppings of fried onion bits and greens... so good. Note that if you get take out the salad portion is much smaller... but that said, the meal could easily feed 2. Would love to see this place offer up lunch sized portions. Will be back often!

For those who haven't tried Vietnamese food, YOU SHOULD! It's healthy (for the most part) and great for new variety and taste! For those of you who have, this is a great new local place in Brandon just asking to be tried out! The price range is decent and the menu is traditional Vietnamese. I enjoyed the eggrolls, Bun (Rice vermicelli), Pho (noodle Soup), and rice. The meats are cooked to perfection with nice seasonings that aren't too much. the portions are big! None of us finished our meals today for dinner! It's family-owned, which is a huge plus for me, give them a try!

First time here, gooooddd stuff. I almost always stick to ordering a veggie or shrimp Pho when doing Vietnamese but unfortunately (my one and only gripe about this joint) they do not offer a chicken stock broth, just beef. So I went with a veggie noodle dish with fish sauce (bun chay maybe? Don't recall the menu name) Rice noodles, crispy onions, shredded cabbage, green onion, etc with fish sauce on the side. AMAZING. So very tasty. My man friend ordered the summer rolls and a similar noodle dish with shrimp and chicken. Delicious! Service with a smile and most excellent Vietnamese cuisine. I shall return.

I had been meaning to try this place for the longest time and today I finally made it. I should have made a better effort to get here sooner because the Pho is excellent! As recommended by other Yelpers, I ordered 7A, medium bowl of Rare Beef with Brisket. The broth was very flavorful, the meat was tender and the noodles were on target. The typical add ins of bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapeños, etc were very fresh and crunchy. The place is not very big (11 tables) and it was packed by a midday Monday lunch crowd. That's probably why the service was a bit rushed. Pho Hoang is in a Publix Supermarket strip mall, competing with a Sushi Rest., Subway, Chinese take out and Pizza Hut. I plan to go back soon to savor some of the other interesting items on the menu.

I would have given this place five stars, because their pho, egg rolls, and noodle bowls are amazing, but the service--faugh. The second-worst restaurant experience I can remember. I hope they can address the way they treat customers, because I want to return. After today I am not sure I will.
