Healthy Meal suggestions for New China

Maybe I got lucky, maybe they've changed their ways, but my experience tonight from phone call to chow time was very solid (much different from other reviewers). I will definitely be a repeat customer! Now my rating scale is always sliding based on place being rated. So it's not a 4 star restaurant, but rated on a "take out Chinese restaurant scale" it's certainly 4 out of 5 stars on my experience. Person answering phone was very courteous and professional, and I greatly appreciated her repeating my long order to verify everything was correct. Also very courteous when i picked up order. Price was standard range for local Chinese takeout places. Portions were full and satisfying. Plenty of left overs as always. All the meals ordered were tasty and satisfying. You can't expect an explosion for your taste buds at Chinese take out joints (except for Asian yummy house), but it was certainly a very satisfying meal that I will be ordering again. If you are looking for the soaked in grease type of Chinese food this is not your place, personally I do not like to order a side of MSG and coronary artery disease with my Chinese food. I suggest others to give the place a try, especially if you are just looking for that quick and easy Chinese take out night.

Ordered from them for the first time tonight and was instantly disappointed. They forgot the sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour chicken. The pepper steak was very bland and not peppery at all like it should be. You can tell that the cut of beef is low quality. The chow mein was not what I was expecting and I even searched the Internet beforehand for what chow mein was to ensure I ordered the right thing. The egg drop sour was very thick...too thick. It shouldn't be so thick that it sticks together like paste. :-/ All in all I am very disappointed with the dinner they delivered. I'm mad I spent my money at this place. Don't waste your money at New China. Asian Yummy House at Big Bend and 301 is 10 times better! I made the mistake of trying something new and won't make that mistake again. I will stick to my Asian Yummy House thankyouverymuch lol

Ok, they get a star just for having delivery. Love the won ton soup & it's plentiful with the dumplings....

They have actual AUTHENTIC Fried rice! Which is white rice, fried with soy sauce, veggies etc. So the person complaining about not having "golden rice" isn't actually looking for chinese food. Lose a star because they could be a little more friendly and still not as authentic as Yummy house but they are cheaper than yummy house and deliver! Yes I will be back, probably often.

Lunch specials $5.50, good buy. Large shrimps and good portions for lunch. Surprised at freshness and tastiness for an out of the way place. Authentic Chinese cook and family. Hope I find this place again when I travel off 75.

Nearby, good enough on those nights when you don't feel like cooking and want something quick. Food is ok, nothing great, but we know that going in. Always hot, seems fresh and they have great containers, lol!!

I would be gracious to say that this is your run of the mill takee outee place but it's worse than that. It starts at the counter with two young girls who are rude and don't really give a damm if your there or not. The food used to be better. I think it's time to switch.

Ordered the pint size of shrimp fried rice and I kid you not I counted a total of four small shrimp mixed in it! Rice was overly cooked and hard....chicken wings were the only good part of the meal. One tip to the owners would to be have your front counter people work on their customer service.

This was my families TO GO order tonight... Qt. House special fried rice: Not at all special, very little meat. The rice wasn't golden, more like the color of soy sauce on white rice. LG. Krabmeat ragoon: ok. 2 pork egg rolls: Tasty. Qt. Beef lo mein: Not over the top bad, just pretty bland. The noodles were good. Very little beef. Qt. sweet & sour chicken: tasty. BOTTOM LINE: Not worth the drive from my home, I'll never go out of my way to eat here. They didn't even give us fortune cookies. My order was $32.00 Dissapointing considering I'm trying to find some local Chinese food.

Grabbed a Hot and Sour soup here recently on the go and It was probably the worst I ever had. Overly salted and overly spiced , Tofu tasted stale and veggies looked like they seen better days. I had to throw it out , it was that bad. Plus place is dirty and unorganized not good signs. Much better options in the area.

First, let me say, there is no good food in Gibsonton, FL. There just isn't. I don't care that The Show Town bar & grill says they have the best burger in town, they have the ONLY burger. Hard not to be the best. Anyway, we crave Chinese food. Good Chinese food. Sadly we are still looking. New China is not fine cuisine, it is fast food Chinese and it is not bad. The food has a good flavor and just yesterday I had one of the best servings on Egg Foo Yung that I have eaten in a long time. If you are stuck in the Gibsonton / Riverwiew are and you want some decent Chinese, this could be the place.

Great for carry out or delivery, the food is very tasty and price is just right! We love this place! The crab rangoon and the friend wontons are both heavenly!

We've ordered delivery from this restaurant several times, and for quick delivery/take-out options, this place has been ok...until last night. We had several people over at our house, and all decided to order in from New China, and ran up a bill of $100 and change. About 20 minutes after placing the order (online), we receive a phone call from the restaurant stating our card was declined. Puzzled, we confirmed all billing information, yet the card was still declining. Double checked bank account...no issue there. I tell the man I need to call the bank, and find out why in the world the card was declining when it shouldn't have. He very rudely then started making accusations that I ordered food I could not afford, that I would now have to come up to the restaurant, with cash, and pay. I calmly tell him again there's some sort of mistake, confirmed his phone number, and told him I would call back as soon as I figured out with the bank what was going on. He then hung up. While on hold with the bank, the restaurant called back again, irate, demanding we come up NOW to pay for our food. The man on the phone was swearing at my wife (at this point I took the phone call over) and I told him, again, I'm on the phone with the bank, and, well, frankly...calm the fuck down. He hung up again. The bank then confirms with me that the restaurant was trying to charge $1,000 and change instead of $100. Well, we've found our problem. I don't keep $1,000 in my checking account on a daily basis. I call the store back, speak to someone who barely can speak english, and once I identify myself (as the people with the payment issue) he starts yelling nonsensically, yelling at the back of the restaurant, back at the phone, etc. I finally have to yell louder than he does to get his attention, and explain they've accidentally added an extra zero to the bill, and that if they spent less time calling and harassing myself and my wife, and a little more double checking basic things like how many zeros are in 100, this issue never would have happened. This business took a simple error, that occurred on THEIR behalf, and proceeded to verbally harass myself and my wife, blow it entirely out of proportion, all while we calmly tried to figure out what was happening. We'll never, ever be using this restaurant again. I hope the owners/staff read this review, know it was me who they were talking to last night, and know I'll do my best to ensure everyone I know stays away from your establishment. Finally, when the delivery did arrive, I did not tip the driver. At this point, I should have been given a discount, but that's a moot point. He flipped me off as he was walking back down my driveway. These people scream class.

I ordered online. After one hour, I called to find out that they couldn't find my address on their GPS. I repeated my address, which was entered properly on the online order form - I checked. Oh, they said. We'll be right there. 25 minutes later I get a call asking where I am. They were at the wrong apartment. The ticket had my full and correct address. Are they just that incompetent? Don't bother with the headache; I know I won't order from them again.

Ordered delivery. They made a couple of minor mistakes on the order. The real problem was the quality of the food. It was HORRIBLE. It was all fried dough....the spring roll was a rotten piece of lettuce surrounded by dough, the chicken was this tiny piece of chicken surrounded by about 3/4" of fried dough. Also, nothing was prepared correctly. My General Tso's chicken was a container full of fried dough with some sweet and sour sauce poured over the chicken. It was all really bad. I called the manager and talked to him about it. He didn't care. At any rate, that was the first time and the last time I will ever order food from that restaurant.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
