Okay, this place is great and we love going here, but the last time we ate here there we had an issue with our plate. The server was helpful, but the manager kind of gave us an attitude. I'm believing it was a fluke because we've been here a few times and love the food, but if I told you what happened you may not have been as nice as we were. Check it out and decide for yourself.

Went for lunch w/ my hubby. We enjoyed our visit. I had a chicken gyro & fries. The gyro was huge & that cucumber dressing stuff inside it is delicious! Service was prompt & the restaurant looks very nice. I'd go back!

I should not be writing this review because now I reallt want Greek food. I ordered the beef kabobs. Really tasty! The red onions were great. Meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Had extra veggies because I'm low carbin' it (so none of that orzo :( on my plate). Veggies were tasty but a tiny bit mushy. The octopus app was good. Nice, clean flavors. The waitress was a bit more casual than the place seemed to be going for, but I didn't mind. I'm a casual gal. She kept the water coming, so that was cool. It's not the cheapest place around, but the quality is great and it's a nice restaurant. Tried some of my friend's lamb chop and was in heaven! It was nice and almost buttery (but not literally buttery). I'd probably order that next time. Excellent =D

I alwasy get the same thing without fail and evertime it is great. The bread and cheese spread they bring out before the meal is great. I actually use that for my Gyro. The atmosphere is great with the belly dancers and breaking plates. Love when the band is there but it can sometimes be too loud.

This may or may not be Tarpon Springs for quality greek food but it certainly was some of the best Greek food i have had anywhere. It was even better than most of what i have had in New Jersey too! Between the hummus, the other spreads, chicken, Athenian fish sandwich and some other items ordered at the table, it was all very good. Unfortunately, i did not try the Gyro but based on the other reviews i have read... it should be a very safe bet. The star rating is also a high 4 stars because the prices are VERY good for the Brandon area. Also, this place is pet friendly given that we went there on a slow day eating outside.

Greek Salad with blackened Salmon was a great choice for lunch! Friendly service and outdoor seating is terrific

Acropolis has been consistently great! Everytime we've been, the atmosphere is very energetic and the food is very good and consistent. The restaurant wide dances are exciting to watch but also a bit frustrating when they throw napkins in your food. All in all, we will continue to return for the entertainment and food.

This place is pretty awesome. Open late even on weekdays, and the food was good! We ordered a Greek salad and falafels, both were delicious! I like the patio seating... it's cool cause even in the rain you can sit out on the patio. Hookah was decently priced with a wide variety of flavors. The 2nd time we went, the waitress described a real cool flavor, and we ordered it but they ended up not having it anymore. And then, she came back and told us that they ran out of hookahs! Apparently, the place only has 8 hookahs.... anyway, someone ended up leaving so we ended up using their hookah! worked out in the end. Flavors that we tried: guava and strawberry mango... both of which were great! Also, we went during some type of special where Margaritas and Sangria were buy one get one free... so needless to say we drank many Sangria, without realizing that they were $9 each full price... which is quite expensive for drinks!! And finally, why I can't give this place 5 stars... mosquitos!!! But overall, a great place to hang out!

I'd say 3 1/2 strs based on food only. We went for lunch and We had an Gyro and a Greek salad. Both were very good but service was very slow. No breaking plates or dancing on the tables for the lunch shift, so if this is not your thing this is a great time to go. Service sucked though!

What a bad place to eat. My wife wanted to grab some Greek and wanted to go here. First of all the place was pretty dead during the lunch rush, not a good sign. We sit down and was asked our drink orders, my wife got a water and my order was not taken, thank goodness they brought me a water otherwise I would have been dry in a hurry. My wife ordered the falafel wrap and I ordered a sandwich, we wanted the stuffed mushrooms as well. The waitress (dumber than a box of bricks) asked us a couple of times our order before she decided to write it down, thank goodness for small favors. We were notified that the "manufacturer" her words not mine sent the wrong mushrooms so we were out of luck, we passed on the appetizers. I got a side salad with my sandwich, there must have been a sale on peppers because there were more peppers than lettuce on the salad. We got our sandwiches, mine was incredibly dry, my wife's was incredibly salty from the sauce they put on the falafel. We finish our main meals and were not asked for a desert order, not offered a refresh on our water at anytime during our meal and the check took forever to reach us (something like 15 mins. minimum) if the place was packed I would understand, but this place stinks. Also there were flies hanging around the table while we ate. Also the help are hired here more for looks than actual intelligence, this works well for some establishments, but not for a restaurant. I will not be fooled again and will not step in this place anytime in my lifetime.

We walked into the restaurant where there seemed to be a long wait. The host was helping a woman ahead of us. She told him she didn't have a reservation & the host appeared a bit frazzled & had to enlist his manager for help. I thought that we'd end up waiting a while based on the host's lack of experience but thankfully we were seated right away by another server. As I walk through the restaurant, I see beverage napkins strewn everywhere. I realize it's a Greek restaurant & they do throw napkins & plates & this is part of the ambiance but sadly it could be a safety hazard as well. At least there weren't shattered plates everywhere! We're greeted by a young server. She doesn't introduce herself, doesn't suggest any specials, or attempt to upsell appetizers but is cheerful. I order a Fish Plaki. The food arrives. My Fish Plaki is a filet of fish that sits beneath stewed tomatoes, herbs, & spices & feta cheese. It is accompanied by seasonal vegetables & orzo. The fish is slightly overcooked, but is bearable. The vegetables are pretty good, but the orzo has no flavor. It was a large portion for the price. We order a chocolate mousse & a baklava for dessert. Before our dessert is brought out, all the servers break out into a traditional Greek dance. They start on the inside of the restaurant & then work their way out & then back in again. It was definitely unique & different from the norm. It probably gets old for the servers but I believe it does provide the guests with a bit of entertainment. Dessert arrives. Our server just sets both plates down & says "I dont know who ordered what" and leaves the table. She doesn't call out the names of the dessert. Our waitress comes back with our check & she mentions that she has messed up our desserts & apologizes. She asks us if we'd like the chocolate mousse cake to go but we decline. We're full. We pay the check & we go home. Overall I give this experience 3 out of 5 stars. The server, although cheerful, just needed a little more experience. The waitstaff as a whole seemed fairly new. I would probably return for appetizers or dessert but I'm not banking on returning for a main course meal as it wasn't that appealing to me.

I am a regular here, I've tried a few dishes, all were good but I keep coming back for the gyros. $6 for a stuffed pita full of meat. the platter has a nicely decorated side salad and fries for $10. the stuffed mushrooms and octopus is good. there's also free bread/oil but you have to ask for it. plus there's daily 2-1 drinks

Food is good. They really know how to cook fish. Try Athenian fish, tender, flavorful and good portion. Appetizer is decent too. That being said, I am tempted to give it a three star. Service is very so so. The night we went, it was not busy, and there were at least 3 waitresses around, yet nobody came to our table for 15 minute to ask for drink. A "musician" was totally enjoying himself playing keyboard. Loud, bad music made it very difficult to carry a conversation. I hope he pays the restaurant, not the other way around. (I would at least expect some greek music) One last thing, please stop this crazy decoration idea of covering floor space with loose napkin / toilet paper. It is a huge waste and they tend to stick to the shoes. I am sure we all had this stepping on dog poo experience once in our life. :-(

Located in Riverview, Acropolis, one of three in the Tampa Bay area is a restaurant that is filled with fun, flavor and value. We did a call ahead reservation and were seated minutes after our scheduled reservation time. A very good first impression. The music, both live and recorded did have you head bobbing by the time the drinks came. Loved the live music especially the piano player and guitarist singing and strumming along to your favorite Greek hits. The waiters also busted out in dance at random times through out the evening and if that wasn't enough they even had a belly dancer! Talk about action packed. They came around with a free round of shots that would make your arm hair stand up by then it was time to order. So many choices! We settled in with the stuffed mushrooms as our appetizers and also had a table favorite tzatzki. Both were delicious. The only negative thing about my dining experience was the fact that it every table had a birthday to celebrate. This got a little bit much after the tenth Greek version of "Happy Birthday." This restaurant is not very earth friendly as they use about 500 bar napkins to throw up in the air and say OPAH! Which is about every 10 minutes. I had the acropolis salad which was huge portion Greek Salad with a mountain of lamb gyro served with pita and tzatziki. It was topped with homemade potato salad and Greek dressing. For $10 it was a huge meal! I took half home. Portions were huge and at a stellar price! You can't beat the food, entertainment, and value of this restaurant. Service was good. I say good because our waiter couldn't answer a few of our menu questions. The evening was topped off with the general manager shaking my hand and thanking us for coming in to dine with them. A very nice touch. Overall a very nice surprise and experience, especially for Brandon, FL.

I've been to the Ybor location on several occasions and I admit, I love the food and the loud, lively atmosphere. However, the Riverview location provides a tamer environment with the same good food.I've been to the Riverview location for both lunch and dinner and have enjoyed my experiences. Most recently, I had the falafel sandwich with Greek potatoes. The falafel isn't the best that I've ever had, but it is pretty darn good and probably the best in the Riverview/Brandon area. The Greek potatoes were delish and the feta cheese on top was a nice touch. My husband ordered the salmon sandwich and loved it. He raved about the aioli on the side (I believe it was a garlic aioli). Our server was helpful and attentive, particularly when we were trying to make a decision on what to order. The prices for sandwiches were pretty good ($6-9) but don't come with any sort of sides. You can add on some potatoes or other sides for about $2. The larger entrees are in the $10-20 range and I believe they charge a $2 fee if you want to split an entree with someone. So, if you're not in the sandwich mood you will spend considerably more. We left our lunch at Acropolis with a full stomach and happy with our choices. Worth a try if you're in the area!

Fun atmosphere, great service and great food. My wife and I go often and get consistent service and food. The prices are very good. The one in Ybor is also great.

My wife and I visited this location back in October 2011. Some items that night were quite good- the greek salad has a broad mix of greens served with a generous cut of flavorful feta cheese. The tasty greek dressing features a subtle hint of sweet berry flavor. Personally I prefer more of a vinaigrette with herbs for Greek salad, but despite the sweetness the dressing is good. We shared a hummus appetizer which was very pleasing, and served with warm pita triangles it's a nice accompaniment to a glass of wine or pre-dinner cocktail. For her main course, my wife ordered the Fish Plaki, and frankly it made her ill. The sauce is very acidic and it gave her indigestion so bad she contemplated the possibility of a heart attack. Something about this particular recipe needs adjustment So, with a mixed experience the first time out we decided to give it another try (I love Greek food). We wanted to sit outside, where no less than 6 tables were available, but when we asked the hostess about an outside table she said it would be 30 minutes for the first available table, and 45 minutes if we wanted to sit outside. Hmm. We were finally seated in the area next to the bar, where the live musician plays. I couldn't help but notice that there were still lots of empty tables outside. We ordered the Felafel appetizer which while quite generous, was overdone with a too-tough outer crust.. Felafel comes with hummus, again very good on this visit, along with a good tahini and "mediterranean salsa" which is unusual and very flavorful. My wife ordered Fried Kibbe which while flavorful, were also overcooked and tough with too high a ratio of crust to filling. Kibbe comes with more hummus (seems like hummus is served with almost everything) and a very flavorful and pleasing Tabbouleh. I was disappointed that Souvlaki platters are available only with either chicken or pork but not lamb. I went with the pork, and it arrived terribly overcooked with several pieces having the texture and consistency of thick-cut jerky. One piece was so over-done I was physically unable to pry it off the wooden skewer. I didn't want the Greek fries but our server (Kim, who is quite nice and very attentive) generously gave me a large extra Greek salad instead. Aside from the mediocrity of the food, the sound level of the music at best is loud, and at worst physically uncomfortable. Once the belly dancer and the napkin throwing was done, both my wife and I had ringing ears (I also had the beginnings of a headache). For much of the time, we could not effectively talk together or even communicate with our server without shouting. Upon leaving, we also both had horse throats from all the shouting. This isn't a rock concert; for dinner out, this level of sound pollution is totally unnecessary. Acropolis seems to enjoy a great reputation and is something of a Tampa area staple. This location in Riverview is nice to look at and has (at least on paper) numerous seating choices. I wish we had been given the option to sit outside at one of the many open tables- we could have talked and enjoyed without the intense noise, and perhaps even overlooked some of the culinary shortcomings. If you want a quiet, romantic dinner with your significant other, there are many better choices for a good meal with atmosphere. If you want noisy, kitchy, schlocky. over-the-top music reverberating through your skull, by all means make reservations and tell them you want to sit inside.

The food at Acropolis was wonderful! My husband and I went on a Saturday afternoon (during the lull between the lunch and dinner rushes) and sat outside. The hummus was probably the best I've ever had and we kept the pita bread coming. I ordered the Spinach Borek (flaky pastry with a spinach and cheese filling) and a salad... I'd love to comment on the salad but it faded into nonexistence once the spinach hit my tongue. Wow, that was delicious. We also ordered a glass of the white sangria which was two for one. That might have been the best sangria I've ever had and the glasses were actually full-sized-filled-to-the-top wine glasses (not like the puny half glasses you get at many other restaurants). The service was good and we had no complaints on anything. Overall, this was a great experience and I was highly impressed with the food and the atmosphere. I will absolutely be returning to Acropolis.

Have eaten here several times, the most recent one this week. Food is delicious. They have a nice selection of Greek wines. Service was good. They had 2 people playing Greek music--that was nice. The only thing that was not great was the children's meal. I ordered pasta and meatballs for my 2-yr old and they brought out a red sauce penne pasta with meatballs. Unfortunately, the meatballs were hard as rocks and dry, as if they had been frozen and overcooked. I could not cut them in little pieces with a fork and knife because of how tough they were! My son did not eat the meal, which is fine since I was afraid he would choke on the meat! So, stay away from the kiddie pasta and meatballs and you should be ok!

Poor Service. We've been twice for lunch and both times we were waited on by the bartender, covering the bar and our table. The first time she forgot to put our order in. She's very inattentive, so if you go make sure the bartender is not your server. The first time we had a Mahi Mahi sandwich, which was good and the Artichoke salad, also good. The second time we had falafel, very dry and poorly seasoned, and spanikopita + salad - too much feta in the spanikopita, crust was mushy, salad was fresh. She brought a 2nd iced tea with lemon and when she noticed the prior lemon slice was on the table, she said guess you don't want lemon, and took the fresh lemon away. She just grabbed it and left, she didn't ask. She was not quite smart enough to realize that the lemon on the table was used and we did like lemon. It was really quite funny. Wait staff seem to spend a lot of time standing around talking to each other and hiding in the back. Based on other reviews, lunch time seems to have the most service issues.

My co-workers took me here for lunch when I started my new job so there was a large group of us. They bring you out complementary bread and some type of garlic and heaven-like spread. I was impressed already! We then ordered some hummus and tzaziki with some pita bread. Both were good but nothing to rave about. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap with a side of fries. Wow! I wanted to eat the whole thing, but couldn't because the portions were huge! All the ingredients were fresh and had such good flavor. The fries were pretty good too - they were thick cut fries with seasoning topped off with some feta cheese. I will definitely be back!

I've only ever been to the Acropolis in Ybor, so I was excited to get a chance to go to this location. We arrived there pretty early, around 7, on a Thursday, so it wasn't too crowded. My sister and I both had cocktails, that were brought to us very quickly and were quite delicious. I ordered the feta stuffed fried eggplant and my sister has the calamari. we both really enjoyed our meals. If I'm ever in this area again around dinnertime, I'll definitely be back.

While in Tampa to kick off a long relocation process, I accepted an invitation for lunch at this surprising solid Greek Restaurant. Always up for a strong Gyro, this place sure didn't disappoint. Sit outside with great company for a memorable experience. Great service and self refills of cold ice water left at the table was a plus.

Never trust Acropolis for a large Party!!! We made way in advance a reservation for 15 and was seated at a table for 12. Very tight not comfortable at all. Our waitress could not even get to the back of our table, because where they had seated us in the corner, in the back, was crowded by another party. Miserable!!! Our poor waitress was the only server for multiple tables! Our food came out in stages and the first to receive their food were already done by the time the last received their food, also no one received their meal complete, everyone was missing something, mainly the fries. So our waitress had to make multiple trips to the kitchen (she had NO HELP!!) Took forever to get the food and then the bill. The manager never helped our waitress or asked how we were, until my sister asked to speak to him. Just an overall bad experience! My sister wrote to Joseph France the General Manager to express her disappointment on our special occasion, it has now been two weeks and not a response to her email. She was so embarrassed that she suggested for us to come to Acropolis. We had a graduation celebration the week before at the Colombia in Ybor, TOP NOTCH! Service and food a delightful experience!! If you need a special occasion restaurant than I suggest the Columbia, can accommodate big or small parties with professionalism, never an empty glass at Columbia.

The food was pretty good, nice use of olive oils. Belly dancer and musician performance was fun! Napkins thrown all over the restaurant. The server requested us to pass him nearly all the dishes since they were far from his reach. The chair benches used for our group were extremely large and uncomfortable. We celebrated a birthday and 6 people were standing throughout the night because the restaurant couldn't accommodate. The restaurant is too small to bring a large group and the kids did not like their meal.

Great food, terrible service. Waiter seems brand new.. Has no clue what he's talking about. Very confused with any question asked. Although the food is delicious... Hopefully he's just new! I would hate it to keep me from returning!

Excellent Greek food with an amazing atmosphere. They throw napkins, sing and at times have a belly dancer. We love the food and the portions are huge. Every time we vacation in Tampa, we have dinner here. Great for couples and families. Great place !

Food was delicious and service was seamless. From making reservations with Angel (who well deserves her name) to dining- it was the most ideal experience! I highly recommend asking for our server, Sidonia. She knew the menu well, was warm and friendly, and was even thoughtful of needs without asking. First time there but def not our last!

I went here for an after-graduation dinner with a party of 8. They gave us a large round booth in the back of the restaurant, which was nice and secluded for conversations. We started with a Greek cheese dip (don't remember what it was called), saganaki (cheese on a platter that was flambeed tableside), and some large stuffed mushrooms. Pita was served to eat the cheese with. My favorite of the night was the mushrooms, which were very large, stuffed with a creamy white cheese, battered, and deep fried. Excellent. (But is this Greek?) When our entrees arrived, I was pleased to see that I had made a good choice, portion-wise, because the others in my group had very large portions and they all ended up taking half of their meals home. I was out of town and didn't want to deal with leftovers. I ordered the Pastitio, which is tubular (penne) pasta topped with seasoned ground beef and Bechamel sauce, traditionally, baked and served in a square portion. This version had red sauce and cheese on top, like they are trying to pass it off as lasagna. Do any bing or google image search, and you will see that Pastitio is topped only with Bechamel. This was extremely salty, far too much for my taste. Everyone else's meals must have been salty too, because we kept passing the water jug around the table. One at our table ordered jambalaya. (At a "Greek" restaurant...now I'm thinking that this should be called a "Greek-style" restaurant.) She said it was good, and quite spicy, but there was far too much for one person to eat. The rest of our party had gyro platters that came with different meats and toppings. Even if someone mispronounces the name of a dish, the server should repeat it in the correct manner. I was surprised to hear the server pronounce it as "jeye ro," as my dinner companions did, and not the correct pronunciation "hee ro." The extended family I was with said they come here "all the time" but honestly I wouldn't give it a second try. Every half hour or so, music plays and the servers step to the middle of the restaurant and toss stacks of paper napkins everywhere while dancing and singing. Plates were smashed, as well. But they didn't look like they were enjoying themselves (not even fake smiles.) If you look at the ceiling and light fixtures, you can see tossed napkins literally everywhere...I was concerned about the paper napkins that landed on the lightbulbs. Fire hazard perhaps?

This is a great Acropolis location. The noise and crowded factor of the Ybor location annoys me sometimes and this is a much more low key place. I love coming here for an outdoor lunch on a spring day. It is close to my office and the service is always quick. The food is very reliable, too. I often get the Greek Salad with Chicken. The dressing is a sweet yogurt based sauce, which is so great, and it comes with an entire chunk o' feta! Aw yeah! I also highly recommend the Tzaziki appetizer and the Gyro. Oh, and the fries have feta on them too. Pretty legit. A great spot for some Greek food and fun!

*Certifiable Tzatziki sauce enthusiast here* So, I was genuinely excited when I moved relatively close by. I HEAR and read great reviews about this place. I stopped in here to place a TO GO order on my way home, because I had a hankering for greek. They weren't particularly busy, so I chatted up the bartender for good choices. I ordered a pita and tzatziki appetizer and drink while I waited. DEMOLISHED, without regard to those around me because I was starving!! It was soooo gooodd!!!! omg. I was really excited for my food. I probably drove like a deranged maniac to get home. I ordered the athenian fish with potatoes and roasted potatoes, with a karpathos chicken salad for work the next day. UMMMM...that was a really bland piece of fish. like...why is it even on the menu? It was nearly the most mediocre piece of fish I've ever paid for in a restaurant setting. The Karpathos chicken salad was actually better than that. When is a salad ever betten than an entree'? Don't get me wrong...that's a banging salad. But, still. I got the reccomendation from Yelp for the fish. *My yelpas my yelpas, don't let me down like that again* I gave this place an above average rating because 1. the drink was good (that's almost as important as food and air) 2. Service was good 3. I would come here just to order tzatziki sauce and pita bread. I love greek food and could eat it a few times weekly. I've had authentic greek food several times while living in Europe. I don't feel like this is it so I can't understand why the reviews are so high. I won't be overly critical until I can try a few more items on the menu, though. I'll come back, that's for sure.

I came here for a late lunch after work because I saw several advertisements for this place and I LOVE Greek food:). The decor was beautiful and location was great. I had the hummus and the roasted veggie salad. Of course I accompanied it with their house sangria.... Everything was delicious and everything came out so fast :). Will definitely come back again and get some hookah as well :)

While waiting for a carryout I sat at then at the bar. I noticed that when the bartender poured a drink she would wipe out the class first. I then noticed that she was really rubbing one glass around the rip and it appeared to have someone's left over lipstick! She got it cleaned and then poured the drink, gross!!! i don't know why she wouldn't have just grabbed a new clean glass. I also noticed a server pop a couple of marichino cherries while he was waiting at the bar for his guests drinks. I get that happens in restaurants but there is something to be said for doing it in an area where customer cannot see. Food is ok.

I have to say I love Greek food. I really do enjoy Acropolis at most visits but tonight was something new. The waitress was clearly tired or something. She would take a while to come greet a new guest. Forget so many things. Then to top it off she clearly got upset that we asked for separate checks. Listen, I was in the service industry for over 15 years and learned to get over the separate check surprise. In fact, I made more money that way. Service folks have a jaded view on this. And just a tip: you are doing yourself a disservice before your table with a bad attitude at the end. I will not return any time soon and certainly will make sure I never get "Samantha" again.

We dine here at least once a month and love sitting outside! It's a beautiful location. That being said, some of the menu items are delicious and others, not so much. Consistency is not a strength. The same could be said for the staff and the service. They have a high turnover rate and tend to hire young. We have ordered a variety of menu items and our favorites are the Gyro platters, Greek Salad with house dressing, Ferro Fish Sandwich and the Meat Platter Extravaganza for 4 (can't remember what they call it) that has the BEST Lamb Chops we've ever had and cooked a perfect medium-rare!! Of course, you must splurge for the Baklava for dessert! There have been some disappointing experiences with dirty napkins, silverware and glasses, messed up orders, rude servers, but nothing that would prevent us from returning.

I order the Horiatiki Salad and added grilled salmon. It was happy hour so sangria for me! The salad was great. You can't really mess up a salad. However, I noticed a eye lash on one of the pepperoncini. The manager came by to apology right away and offered complementary desserts for everyone at my table. I think this was handled very well. The sangria was great. Not as strong as I would have liked it to be but it had alcohol. Unlike most places that just make sissy sangria. I picked the cream cheese baklava. It was great! It was so rich. I was only able to eat half. I will be back.

Haven't been to Acropolis for over a year so we decided to pay them a visit -- great food, good service, good ambiance, stupidly-priced cocktails! I had the gyro platter, my husband had the pastitsio. Both were excellent: tasted amazing, served hot, visually appealing. We ended the meal with baklava, which was a little triangle of heaven! Our only complaint were the cocktails; our cosmo and martini were fair/OK but nothing to write home about. We could not believe that they were priced at $11 for well vodka -- ridiculous considering where we were -- come on, Acropolis! I don't mind paying $11 or $12 at an elevated establishment such as Timpano, Ocean Prime, etc. But this is a run-of-the-meal Greek restaurant, serving Seagram's vodka! Give me a break! Next time we will just get the 2-4-1 Margaritas!

On vacation, visiting family who live in this area, and they took us to Acropolis Greek Taverna. We enjoyed the food, music, and dancing. It's a great place to eat with family or just friends. My sister-in-law is a vegetarian & had no problem finding quite a few options on the menu. We had the Gyro platter, Karpathos Chicken Salad, Roasted Vegetables with Greek side salad. Everyone loved their food, delicious! Our waitress was fantastic, friendly, attentive and helped us with a few questions that we had about items on the menu. The prices are very reasonable ranging from $6 to $21. There is something for everyone no matter your budget. We didn't have any dessert but will come back again to have the baklava. It looks delicious.

It's a shame that everything came out cold because the food did have decent flavor. The first issue was the dirty glasses our drinks were served in. We were a large party and yes, all the glasses. The majority of the glasses had lip prints on them, which is disgusting. After approaching the manager told us they were in the process of switching dishwashers. That seemed far more of an excuse than anything, however, she did try to make it up by giving our table some free appetizers (which really were more like tiny sample platters of hummus). We placed our orders finally and waited for our food to come. We were starving, and when it came out the food was cold, orders were wrong, sides were missing. It was, in short, a disaster. The server, although not great, did try to fix the issues. We requested the manager again and explained the issue; we were frustrated, hungry, and exasperated. Certainly issues in the kitchen do not reflect on the server. However, it does reflect on the manager. Several of us did not bother to eat our meals, as they were cold. These dishes were comped. However, the others were not even given a discount on their plates. I understand that if we eat the food we should pay. However after such a disaster I feel the right thing to do would have been to offer a discount of some kind on those plates. We did tip the server off the full amount of what the bill would have been. Overall it was poor management, and I'm saying this is a cold cut.

Choose the seafood pasta. Menu did not state that it came with onions and peppers. This is why I orders due to the fact I am deathly allergic to onions. Was served plate and questioned the waitress about the onions and peppers, she insisted that they listed ingredients. I went and checked the menu and showed her that they were not listed. She only then took back the dis and screamed at the cook to refire the dish. The whole restaurant heard her ( by the way the cooks name is Juan). She brought out the dish. It tasted like garlic, the pasta, mussels, shrimp and scallops tasted the same like excessive garlic. Scallops were mush and over all the meal was ver bad.

The menu looks good, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The menus smelled like dirty mop water and the restaurant floor was covered with wet napkins, which had obviously been there for hours. The artichokes in my salad were spoiled and the lettuce was yellow, the cooked veggies on top wilted everything under it. The drinks (teas) were terrible. I informed the waitress, she apologized, but didn't even remove the artichokes ($2 charge) or the drinks. I couldn't eat the food and left very unhappy. 1 star for an attentive server in the beginning, and great tirosalata (tzatziki) sauce.

Once again Acropolis does not disappoint. Their friendly service, (Juan was our server & Elias the manager) outstanding food, entertainment and reasonable prices keep my husband and I coming back. In fact, we eat here at least 1 time a week. While we have our favorites, each time we try a new item, it quickly becomes our new favorite. The Greek pizza, Athenian fish, pork kebabs, salmon salad, etc are second to none. Highly recommend Acropolis!

My food was great however the tzatziki comes with only a few pieces of pita bread and they charge you $1 for more bread knowing that there's too much tzatziki. My boyfriend said that the kibbe didn't taste good at all and was burnt. I recommend the chicken kabobs and orzo pasta. I asked for no tomatoes and got extra tomatoes instead.

Such a great meal each time, tonight I had something special, combined the grouper dish with the sauce of the creamy lemon caper sauce (from the chicken dish) and it was amazing. Love these dishes., margaritas were good and @2 - 4 - 1. Can't beet that, their Greek wines are great. Service is always friendly and spot on.

Such great servers. From beginning to after we left and forgot our leftovers on the table and they brought them out to us, they were fab. We mentioned to the hostess that we had decided to treat our family to something different for our wedding anniversary as we were being seated and they actually "Opa"-ed us. The kids loved it so much, decor is great. Food is fresh and you don't come out regretting how much you ate. And our 5 o'clock time was perfect for a quick family meal. One star less due to comfort. It was freezing and we were under the vent. We didn't complain, though, because moving our family is a pain to move around.

The spinach dip and Tzatziki was delicious and was enough for 5-6 people. You might need to ask for more pitas slices, the Tzatziki doesn't come with enough. Gyros are a safe choice. They are served with plenty of lamb. All the plates come with a big Greek salad with a creamy raspberry dressing. If you have the choice to go to Tarpon Spring I strongly suggest you go for some authentic Greek food.

First time here. The decor and service is great. The waiter is very knowledgeable of the drink and food menu. I had the shrimp scumpi for starters, and seafood pasta for my entree. Both order was delicious... best thing is the price is very very reasonable. The portions are huge. Love love love. Will be returning

If I'm in the mood for Greek food, I'm headed to Acropolis! We always love the environment, friendly staff, and great tasting food. The staff comes around about once every hour dancing to music, throwing napkins in the air, etc. It's nice to eat at a nice place where you're not so worried about your 3-year old being the noisy one! My hubbie and I love the Saganaki appetizer. He usually gets the Spanakopita and I love the Gyro Platter. It comes w/ a small salad and is just enough.

Love! The atmosphere is fun and keeps things lite. The food and service are outstanding. My family was very impressed and they are looking forward to out next visit. We sat outside and could still enjoy the music happening inside the restaurant. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms (amazing) and I ordered the Musaka. The portion was large and was easily enough for some leftovers is my husband hadn't liked it as much as I did. Our daughters ordered the Plata and loved it! They especially raved about the tomatoes and lettuce...that should say something. My husband ordered the Chicken Mantini (sp?) and it's my fave dish. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce makes the dish. I didn't eat the pasta (none for me) but he cleaned his plate.

Food is good, not impeccable but rather tasty. I'll stick to Greek Town for Mediterranean food cravings. Service is poor at this particular restaurant. Parking is convenient. Seating indoor and outdoor. One complaint...C'mon servers...Get it together waitress/hostess staff, you've got to smile and satisfy your customers!!! Many tables waiting for service. Many tables waiting to pay for their checks, I'm not surprised if they just walked out unnoticed. Jeez! People these days with their fake smiles, if you don't like your job I'm pretty sure there are people who would be willing to replace you and can do it better.

Went for lunch with family. Atmosphere was good and service provided was what you expect. Nevertheless, the food was not. Ordered a gyro. Meat was chewy and did not taste fresh. Pita was soaked with oil. There was more Tahiti sauce than meat. Pizza ordered tasted old. Cheese was not cooked as its suppose to be. Not going back or recommending regardless of how good service was.

This is one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in my life! Food was amazing, service was excellent and there was entertainment too! There was a guy playing live music and the servers came out and danced and it was like nothing I've ever experienced. Highly recommend everyone to try this just on the experience alone!

I was torn between a 3 and 4 star review for my experiences with this place. The couple of times I have been here have been for after work outings with a large group. Overall the food is great and I've never had a complaint about it. I usually stick with the Gyro Platter and food is definitely not a shortage when you order an entrée here. It's great tasting and authentic to my taste buds! I will say the one thing that always disappoints me is the cocktails. They always sounds so great on the menu descriptions, but once they arrive they are less than thrilling. On this last occasion a couple of my co-workers actually sent their margaritas and sangrias back and stuck with wine as they were very diluted and tasted off. The service was also less than stellar. The chose to put only one waitress on a table of 25 and advised there would be another server, but this poor girl ended up handling it all on her own. She was very flustered as it appeared we were not her only obligation. Not her fault, but management should really make sure they have adequate waitstaff to handle their needs.

I finally had the chance to dine at Acropolis which has been on my wish list for quite sometime. I had lunch on their patio on a beautiful afternoon and was pleased with everything from the food and service to the ambiance. Portions were big and everything was fantastic. I am looking forward to my next visit in which I will explore more of their menu.

After finding this restaurant on Yelp, we decided to give it a try and unfortunately our experience wasn't a good one. I rate them a One Star because I wouldn't return or give them a second chance and for the following specific reasons. All of our glasses were dirty. I found this to be gross since several of us didn't notice at first and had already started drinking from them. I decided to talk to the manager on duty at the time and let her know about the glasses. I did ask her if this was going to be indicative of the way things were going if we decided to stay and order lunch. The manager assured me that she would correct the problem and have new glasses and drinks brought to our table and that she would make sure that we enjoyed the rest of our experience there. Needless to say, I figured since she sounded so assuring that we would stay. This was a bad idea on my part as the rest of our experience was poor. It seemed that they were in chaos and we were already in too deep, our meals had already been ordered and when they started to come out, they were missing the side orders. Several guests at our table ordered the chicken souvlaki platter but didn't get their side orders (i.e. fries and rice). These came later after they were half way done with their chicken. Unfortunately, it was apparent that the food plates were sitting on a counter in the kitchen waiting for the server to bring them to our table, which explains why they food was room temperature and not hot. It was obvious they were in chaos with their dishwashers (who didn't know how to wash glasses and dishes) and their cooks. They were obviously short handed with their servers. Our server did everything she could but she just had too many tables. Our experience, there were 8 of us was pretty consistent throughout, half our table decided to cancel their meals and the others who were starving decided to just get through the experience. I think we all know that it isn't easy to manage a restaurant; however, I give them a One Star because the manager just didn't have it together. After assuring us that we would have a much better experience in spite of the dirty glasses issue, she failed in her promise to make our experience better. All of us go out to restaurants and at least expect the experience to be as good as possible, but dirty glasses, cold food, incomplete plates, dishwashers that don't know how to wash a dish, servers that don't inspect the glasses before bringing them to the table and a manager that is in over their head doesn't make for a return visit. I decided to tip the server for the full retail value (including the meals that were removed from our check) of our check and requested that the plates that came out incomplete and cold and which were not touched by those of us that decided not to eat there were removed from our tab. Unbelievably, the manager did charge us for the drinks, which I thought should have been credited. I would like to try again but didn't I already do that?

This is the go to place for Greek food. I have ordered all the Greek classics they serve: spanakopita, mousaka, pastitsio, souvlaki, gyros, etc). Always good stuff! When the weather cooperates I like sitting outside and enjoying a hookah. Service can be hit or miss.

We are visiting family that live in this area, so went there today for lunch. Always great food. Haven't been disappointed with this restaurant ever. I had the seafood pasta -it was wonderful. My husband had the mahi-mahi fish sandwich, which he always seems to order. Our daughter had chicken kabobs. She always orders this there and always loves this meal. Our son had the seafood pasta also, but with the red sauce. No complaints with anything. Whenever we visit always want to go to the Acropolis!

Love this place! The gyros are always good, and I'm obsessed with their tzatziki and salad dressing! Nice atmosphere, but it can get a little crowded. I prefer it around lunch time because there usually aren't very many people and the dancing and napkin tossing is kept to a minimum. I've experienced the crazy dancing at night, once was enough for me but the food keeps me coming back!

My wife and I along with 4 friends came here to enjoy an evening of Greek food and belly dancers. We have eaten here before and it was always enjoyable. This evening was a little different. This time there was only one belly dancer who only danced for about 15-20 minutes an hour. There was no Greek musician this time like in the past. There were no flames on the bar. This evening we lost count how many birthdays there were. Every time the staff celebrated someone's birthday, the music volume would be cranked way up and go on for 1-2 minutes. After 6-7 celebrations over a period of 2 hours (while we're trying to enjoy our food and each others company), it got old real fast. The other thing was the amount of small children this evening. The children were every where on our side of the restaurant. Our friends felt like we were at a children's restaurant celebrating birthdays that happened to have a belly dancer. On the positive side, all the food was excellent. The flaming cheese, stuffed mushrooms and hummus appetizers were big hits. All our dinners were served hot and our waitress worked really hard. The desserts all were served cold and had great flavor. We got there at 1830 hours in time for 2 for 1 happy hour. The next time we go with friends, we'll ask to be put in the adult section. I wonder if one can ask to have the volume of the music turned down or do all the birthday celebrations at once?

Fun...and good. The food is consistently good with the staff always being excellent. We really like the outdoor seating and the dancers tossing napkins in the air adds an extra bit of fun to an otherwise quiet dinner. It is a little loud on the inside, but if you want quiet, go outside :-)

This is one of neighborhood favorites! If you want a lively fun place to go, then sit inside on a Saturday night and be prepared for Greek music, a belly dancer that is willing to teach you a few moves, dancing wait staff, flying napkins, and broken plates. Seems like a Greek party! I love the saganaki as it reminds me of my first Greek restaurant in Detroit's Greektown. The tirosalata is wonderfully tasty! My favorite dish is the Chicken Rhoades. Lots of flavor with chunks of artichoke and sun dried tomatoes. No matter what you order, there is lots of it to share or bring home for lunch. Whether we sit on the patio or inside, we have always had friendly and attentive service. OPA!

I am new to the area and this place is down the road from me. I stopped in one Sunday night thinking I might find a good gyro if I was lucky. I was lucky and found much more! The menu is extensive and anyone can find something. Bread and spread came out before the meal. Delicious! I ordered the moussaka with a side salad. It was fresh and had a good variety and a huge chunk of fresh feta. The moussaka was also fresh and it was plentiful and delicious. The baklava was perfect. The atmosphere is fun. There was a band and a belly dancer. The waiters dance about once an hour. It's entertaining, but bit intrusive to your meal. I waited a few minutes for my check, but in the big scheme of things, that's so minute. The prices are good for what you get. Awesome place. I will be back.

As a fan of Mediterranean food this place always hits the spot. The gyro reminds of the ones I used to receive as a kid at a street fair. The sangria is 2 for 1 and so worth it. I have never ordered a bad thing on the menu and the service is efficient and knows how to treat their customers. Did I mention the live music and dancing? Yep both are a regular every night of the week!

This location has a nice, open feel to it. It's always very clean and I've found the service staff to be friendly. The food is pretty much what you would expect. They have the standards like gyros, pastitsio and the like. Everything I've ordered here has been good. I like to ask for the gyro open faced. The wraps don't come with a side which is a little disappointing. If you order fries separately you get a good portion which is good for sharing but not if you're by yourself. I would like to see a smaller portion of fries available with their wraps etc. Also, a group of us met here on a week night and they have live music and the dancers but it was super loud. This isn't a place to go at night if you actually want to talk to eachother. Otherwise, I think it's a fantastic addition to the Riverview area. Winthrop is a nice spot with ample parking.

Ah-MA-ZING! Love this place! The ambiance is very nice, the atmosphere is energetic, happy and fun. The food is always delicious and the staff has never been anything but perfect. First the food... There was just nothing special here. The Saganaki appetizer and my Pastisio were very good. But, my wife's Gyro meat was just okay. We ordered some Pita and Tzatziki that turned into a disappointment. The Tzatziki had so much garlic in it that your mouth burned. And I'm a garlic and spice lover... Second the setting and service... This is where things got worse. I've been to plenty of greek restaurants; Tarpon Springs, Detroit, NY, and more. All of them I could hear myself think after leaving. Yes, greek restaurants are loud, but the owners here need to realize (1) with the high metal ceilings creating an echo they don't have the building for this, and (2) you don't need to crank up the music when there are only about 4 tables on a Wednesday night. Then, if that wasn't enough, midway through our dinner, they sat about a 12-person birthday party next to us that they could not get to stay seated, and were bumping into our chairs. Our waitress had little personality and really could have cared less. I love Greek cuisine, but next time I think I'll just drive up to Tarpon Springs where the food is excellent without the mismanagement.

Nothing special. The kabob was plain tasting and the gyro, which came on grocerystore pita, was fast food fare, maybe not even that good. advice... skip it.

Well...I liked the food and the atmosphere. Yes, I would come here again for the Gyros. Those were so gosh darn good! Loads of Lamb meat and side salad was great! I love the bread that they bring out with the yogurt sauce. Awesome! I noticed though, that when someone has a birthday, they throw a TON of beverage napkins in the air....WHAT A WASTE! Here's a thought...instead of NAPKINS...how about confetti?? At least with confetti, it wont look like you just came out of the bathroom and have toilet paper stuck to the bottom of your shoe...also...less waste. The portions here are plenty so make sure you come on an empty stomach or take some home for great left overs:-)

When I used to live in Ybor City, I frequented Acropolis quite a bit. Over time, the service staff changed and that was the first thing to start going downhill. One night, before an art show, I stopped by for a quick bite with a friend and ordered the Athenian Grouper and a side salad. It all tasted fine, until about an hour later when I became sick. So, needless to say, I haven't been back to that Acropolis since ... and cue 4 years later when one opens in Brandon right by me. I went this past weekend with a friend who wanted to try it out - as skeptic as I was, I decided to give it another shot, it was another restaurant right? The atmosphere is always fun - late nights when they have live music and bellydancers, there are napkins everywhere and those who want to smoke hookah, can out on the patio. The atmosphere was always the piece that drew me to this restaurant. We sat outside and the waitress was very polite. My friend ordered the octopus - she said it was very good, but nothing super tasty. I ordered the grilled chicken greek salad - I played it as safe as I could besides eating the fresh bread. The salad was enough to fill me up for lunch, but it was nothing that I'd rave about. I think that the main facet that turns me off from Acropolis is the fact that it doesn't live up to its hype. Also, each restaurant is separate but they should work to be consistent with service and quality of food across the different locations. Just my 2 cents ;)

Acropolis is a good experience and we return regularly. Some of the food is outstanding and the Greek wine options are very comprehensive in addition to good beer choices. The location is pleasant. We used to enjoy sitting outside until they added hokkah smoking. It has become obvious that Tampa area diners don't know the difference between Greek and Middle Eastern food and seem to expect potato salad in Greek salad, falafel, and hokkah pipes. Acropolis does have Greek food, but not exclusively. The gyro and dolmades are my wife's favorites. Some of the fish options are the reason for my strong recommendation. The charbroiled octopus is good. The marides (fried small fish) appetizer and the grilled red snapper are well cooked whole fish that match up well to the way they are prepared in Greece. I find it hard to get fish cooked with the head on in Tampa.

If you like Greek salads, this is the place for you. Their Gyro platters are also very good, and I have enjoyed the many different appetizers I've tried here over time. The atmosphere is great, fun and inviting. The service is good and the music is enjoyable. The overall ambiance of acropolis is great. Whether you're dining with family or with friends/coworkers this place has a good atmosphere.

Serves delicious fresh Greek food highly recommended is the athenian greek salad, chicken souvlaki platter and the gyro. The atmosphere is lively and fun with the servers dancing spontaneously to loud Greek music. Acropolis offers 2 for 1 happy hour specials on all drinks with exception of top shelf liqueurs. The wait staff is friendly and outgoing giving Acropolis your local neighborhood tavern ambience.

I love Greek food and I understand that Greek restaurants can be noisy places, even for the culinarily adventurous. However, this place seem to prize shtick over substance. When the belly dancer gets started, the audio system is turned up loud enough to be heard halfway across town, with the attendant decrease in sound quality. The dancing and napkin flinging only serves to get the patrons to plug their ears (we saw quite a bit of that) and to get napkins stuck to one's shoes on the way out. This was our second visit in the past four months. We ordered the Spinach Dip appetizer, which was excellent. The bad news is that our entrees (Drunken Quail and Gyro Platter) arrived shortly after the appetizer with no apology for the timing. The quail was over seasoned and tough, though the Gyro Platter was very tasty. This restaurant needs some work. =-=-=-= Update 2014.06.26 below =-=-=-= We have returned a few times since this first visit. The food has been consistently very good to excellent - much better than the Drunken Quail on that first visit. We try to arrive early enough to avoid the noisiest part of the night. Upgrading the review from 2 stars to 4. It deserves it.

I love Acropolis. Went here for my best friend's 21st birthday; setting was lively, music was good, and the wait staff were throwing napkins-- how fun. Interior of the restaurant was beautiful, and service was great. Food was even better. Hummus platter came with warm and soft pita, and their chicken gyro was one of the best gyros I've ever had. This is a great place to go for a fun time and a good meal. I recommend Acropolis for all celebrations and birthdays.

We have been wanting to come here for a while after reading reviews and having friends talk about the Opa dance, napkins flying and dishes breaking. We did a late lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The interior design is nice, open and looks great. They have an outside seating area that is nice and shaded, but in the afternoons the sun is focused on the area and I suspect can be hot in the summer. The inside seating area has a nice area to the left for a more romantic setting to eat; the right side is more open. Even with the openness the tables are separated enough to have a personal conversation and not feel like the next table is on top of you. We kept it simple for lunch, I got Souvlaki and a Greek beer, my wife got the chicken gyro and an iced tea. It was not crowded, but the food came out quickly. Large portions, fresh ingredients. The wait staff was prompt and not over bearing and not on top of us every second. The cost was $25 including two imported beers. Definitely a repeat for us!!

I ate lunch here today with a friend, and the food was really good. I had the vegetarian moussaka and I loved it. I guess this place is a chain, but it is really quite delicious. I liked the space, and the menu was huge. I will be going back.

  • Danielle Z.

We used to go to the location in Ybor religiously. WHY is this one so much worse? First off, I do want to say the wait staff is SUPER friendly. But you get about half as much on a Gyro Platter, or in a Gyro Pita, which drives my man nuts, and the kitchen doesn't seem to have a clue. I got a to go order that was wrong (we ended up with a giant mushroom for dinner), and when we went in last time I got "meatballs" that weren't balls- they were flat, and so burnt I returned it. The falafel has zero seasoning. I think we are kinda done with the place. And a side note- the bellydancing thing is slightly obnoxious. If we aren't attentive it is because we don't want you there. Take a hint!

  • Kerem O.

Very tasty food and excellent prices cannot make up for how unbelievably overbearing this place is. Let me preface this by saying I'm an adventurous young dude. I find most Florida restaurants way too stuffy and monotone. But Acropolis is just ridiculous. Two or three times during every meal, the entire staff will break to do a Greek dance, throw napkins in the air and break plates on the ground. It's extremely loud, and cheesy, and just way too much. More generally, they're just trying way too hard to fabricate a sense of liveliness. The service is meh. They make it impossible to enjoy a simple meal, even if you're in an upbeat mood.

We discovered a hidden gem in a sea or mediocrity! This place was recommended on Yelp and we went with it. We we certainly not disappointed. The food is fabulous and plentiful! We love middle eastern food and make it at home quite often. Not too many places compare to ours but this place rates as a top hit for us.We come to town twice a year for conventions and will definitely be back here each time. As can happen sometimes there is a snafu in the kitchen and my meal, the whole fish, red snapper, forgot to get cooked with our groups order. As soon as the manager (Sal) was aware of it, he came to our table. Did not try to cover it up, pass blame, or anything like that. He took responsibility apologizing profusely. He not only comped my meal but an apetizer and a beer while I waited! My food then came shortly after. I eat out several times a week and this is one of the most professional I have had the joy of dealing with. I definitely recommend this place not only for their food, but for their professional service as well. Oh and don't forget the greek OPA dance, flying napkins and breaking dishes!! Too much fun!!

Me and the girls come here often for happy hour and we always have a great experience. Service is friendly and fast. Atmosphere is fun. And happy hour specials are great! Tonight was the first time i actually ate something other than an appetizer. I had the Athenian Chicken wrap which was delicious! Its chicken, red onion, tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese, spring mix and onion all wrapped in a pita.. yum yum! I also got a side of greek fries.. these are steak fries with feta cheese.. must have:)

Horrible service. We pointed out that we had to wait 40 minutes and the waiter argued how long we were there.

I loved this place and had such a GREAT time!!! Even though I don't live here, I wanted to yelp this place because I enjoyed the experience so much. Coming back home to see my parents and celebrate a birthday, I decided to come hear after hearing much hype. The server (unfortunately I didn't catch a name; bartender, dark blonde with goatee) was awesome. Even on a late Monday night, he was engaging in conversation with us, recommending specials (2 for 1 sangria!), and made sure we all had a great time. Some servers you forget a week later, others provide such a great service you can remember them years to come. Ours was the later. Thank you!!! The food was a welcomed break from the norm, AND IS A GREAT VALUE. Saganaki, gryos, octopus, mahi, greek salads... our entire table enjoyed their dishes. 4 people drank, had appetizers and entrees for $65. You can't that deal anywhere else... and yes, the napkins, dancing and singing were cute. embarassed the hell out of my for my birthday, and got seranaded by one of the (oh my god... TALENTED LIKE WHOA) bouzouki player. Acropolis needs to keep that family of brothers around for a long time :) On a last note- the hookah. Awesome idea. Back in high school I hated having to drive to downtown Tampa for a decent hookah lounge. Keep up the great prices and flavors.

I don't know where to start. First of all, the hostess barely made eye contact and seemed upset that we ordered a booth. Our waiter Stephanie didn't offer us bread, but she gave everyone after us bread w butter. Ok, no problem. I figured she forgot so when I asked her (after 10 minutes of waiting. No, i'm not exagerating), she says to me "oh, you want bread?". Hm, ok, It would've been nice had she asked us if we wanted when we got seated. Ok, I let that one go by. Then I ordered the beef shish kabab but the meat was different. The quality of the meat was very substandard. Not horrible, but not the same delicious quality that I'm used to. I tasted like it had seen better days. Later I went to the bathrooms and they were filthy and dirty; like they haven't been cleaned properly in a few days. The trash bins were overflowing with toilet paper and baby diapers (I'm not kidding). I used to like this place but somethings gone wrong recently. I don't know if they changed management or what. Not all is bad though. The bread (when she finally brought it) was really good. Aside from this, do not go this place until they fix their issues. A rule of thumb when you go to a restaurant: if their bathrooms are filthy, their kitchens are too.

Inexpensive, consistent Greek food. They spinach dip appetizer is great and the gyro is fresh. I love their pink salad dressing that comes with their salads.

I've lived in Riverview for all of 2 weeks and have already been there twice. Great food. Fun place. Enormous portions. The pita bread and dipping they provide is awesome. I always get the chicken souvlaki. Seasoned perfectly. The feta on the fries is great too. Almost 5 stars... almost.
