Hidden Gem. Don't pass this by. . Or more likely, go out of your way to check this place out. Best grouper I've had yet. Awesome.

Fellow campers stopped as we were setting up to tell us we had to try "The Whip". Told us the burgers, rib eye, grilled fish was the best they've had in forever. They also mentioned the rotating beers on tap. Sweet talked my honey into going. Once he heard about the beer he was sold. He had the bacon cheeseburger, it was huge. He also tried the two darkest beers they had on tap. Founders breakfast stout and dark penance. Like them both but the second one is his new fave. I went for the rib eye, came with fresh green beans and garlic mashed potatoes. Steak melted in my mouth, excellent. Service was great, atmosphere eclectic. Would have been fun to be here on a nice sunny warm day. It's right on the water and has it's own dock. Was bummed I didn't bring my camera the sunset was gorgeous.

If you are in this area do not bypass eating at The Whip. It is a delicious and fun experience. We were staying at the Hampton Inn in Quincy and the front desk recommended it. We had read about it under some reviews on the Hampton Inn. The food was great. Our waitress Daniele was friendly and provided great service. We met the owner who was nice also. The Whip is located on Lake Talquin. We learned that it is 9000 acres and known for catching 2+ lb crappie. The restaurant is part of a fishing camp. It provides a great view of the lake. The place is great. The bar is a boat complete with an outboard motor. I had the beer brined pork chop with mashed sweet potatoes and broccoli. The house Pinot Noir was Meomi! ( yum) . Hubby had fried grouper sandwich with potato salad. We bought a fish rubbed cutting board with a crappie design. Saw some apple pie with ice cream but we were too full. If you are in the area do not pass it up! Might want to bring your boat and a fishing pole!

Took a detour on our way home from a trip to South Florida to give this place a try. I had heard a lot of good talk about it, so I wanted to give it a try. It is about 8 miles south of the Interstate, but it is worth the extra time it takes. My wife and I both opted for the catch of the day fish sandwich with the potato salad. The fish stuck out of the bun by at least a couple of inches on each side, and was certainly fresh and well cooked. The potato salad was very good. It is just a small place located at the marina on the lake. It does have both inside and outside seating, so on nice days opt for the outside as you are right over the lake.

After reading the reviews we decided to stop early and stay and Quincy. The whip was surprisingly yummy and a neat stop! My husband loved the tap beers and they had nice white wine choices. I enjoyed the grouper with sweet potatoe hash and mango salsa. Yummy! Try to head there prior to sunset.

Excellent little place on the lake. I've been here twice. The portions of fish are great. The food is very clean tasting and fresh. I would recommend The Whip when you want a great seafood dinner. Next time I am wanting to try the ribeye steak as it looked scrumptious!

So I am traveling on business and end up at the Hampton Inn in Quincy, Fl. I asked the young lady behind the counter to recommend a good local restraint. I was directed to "The Whip". A marina on a local lake. Enjoyed the view, wait staff was very friendly, food was fresh, I would recommend it to a friend!

I'm from Atlanta and have been coming to Whipperwhill since 1993 with the same group of guys. We've seen this place expand and have always enjoyed the food. Lots of great sandwiches at lunch and amazing dinner entrees. The smoked salmon appetizer is killer and the grouper, tuna and steak are amazing dishes for a marina. Jeff and his staff do a great job!!

Excellent little secret! The grouper was delish. My husband's steak was pan seared and cooked juicy in the middle. The chef is eclectic and makes this hidden secret really unique. It's right on the water, so you can sit outside and watch the sun go down while the boats come in. We'll be back!!

Great lunch spot right on Lake Talquin. The service was friendly once they got warmed up and the beer selection was more extensive than I would have guessed. Would definitely return! Beautiful lake!

Great atmosphere right on lake talquin. We love out of the way places with great food and this hits the mark. Indoor and outdoor seating right on the lake. The outdoor seating has an interesting way of cooling you off. Always a great place for a good steak, burger. Ask about their specials.
