There is only one word to describe this place. GROSS. Everything from the food to the decor to the staff was gross. I'm literally still sitting at the table still looking at my food which I've taken 2 bites off. I tried this place bcuz of the reviews but I am clueless what those reviews were based on. Firstly our waitress was dripping with sweat which was an instant turn off. Then we noticed everyone else was looking a bit dirty with not one person wearing a hair net. Then out came the food. Our waitress was so bad that she actually had the platees pressed against her chest in an effort to bring the food with her breasts all in the eggs (which explained why her shirt was so dirty). As if that wasn't enough we actually decided to try the food. Yuck! In short everythingwas gross. I'm so disgusted and hungry at this point I can't even type. Please just go to IHOP!!!! Just wasted $30 here. Smh. Never again!

The french toast and pancakes were great, but service was just okay. I think they are only slightly better than IHOP.

There are only 3 words to describe this restaurant - A-MA-ZING! I went there today for the first time. I had delicious blintzes - delicious goat cheese wrapped in a perfectly-made crepe! Sadly, they are not only for a long time on weekends or weekdays, so you might have to plan out when you come ahead of time. Also, the service is amazing and will satisfy your every need! One amazing thing that is at every table is a button to flag down your waiter/waitress. When you press it, they will likely be with you within a minute. Service is great and food is great! Definitely come here!

If you're hungover and need a greasy breakfast, this will do the trick but do yourself a favor and try Denny's or IHOP instead. Hostess was rude, but the waitress was really nice (although slightly incompetent - I think she was new). Food was decent but not great. (IHOP is better and cheaper) Pretty extensive menu but overpriced. Clean but very loud.

How anybody can possibly compare this place to Denny's or ihop is beyond me. For starters, it's clean. The menu is very inviting, offering a large variety of pancakes, waffles, crepes, etc. we decided on the spinach benedict, which was very good. We also had the cheese blintzes. They are not the traditional blintz; they are actually thin pancakes, filled and rolled. Three on a plate topped with your choice of fruit, and very yummy. The winner, however, was the shells. Three thin pancakes, rolled, dusted with powdered sugar, and served with lemon and butter. Anything that involves lemon and butter is a winner with me, and these were spectacular. We were here in the early afternoon, when it wasn't so busy, which is probably why the service was so good. Our waitress was Kelli, who was super friendly and on the ball. Next time we come in, I think we'll try the Apple Baby and the Dutch Baby, which are apparently the specialties of the house.

Cute restaurant that is much like IHOP and Denny's, but the quality of food is better and they have gluten free options! The managers were really friendly and were complimenting every guest that walked through the doors. One of them even said my group of friends "brightened up the place" and that we were a "good looking bunch" so extra star for that!! The actual service, however, wasn't that great. Granted it was Sunday brunch and was extremely busy (I'll cut them some slack for that), but the food took forever to come out and our waiter maybe only came by once to check up on us and fill our coffees in the hour and half we were there. My one friend and I both got the waffle combo with eggs and a side of meat (I had bacon and she had sausage links), and we both never received our sides. I also ordered my eggs over-medium and they came out over-easy (like REALLY over-easy). Despite that fiasco, I'd still come back. Definitely need to try the dutch baby and apple baby; they looked delicious!

The food is always good. Their seating is very family friendly. This location went through a management change over 6 months ago. The old management would always come by and say hi and thank you for coming in today. When you leave they would always tell you they are looking forward to seeing you again. The current manager Has not said hi to us in over 6 months. Our server was helping us work through a problem with our bill. Instead of the manager coming over and working it out he sent our server back and forth three times to fix the problem. Being customers that eat here twice a week, the management team is as personal as a dead fish. I want the old managers back!!!!!!!

The service was great. The food was wonderful. The only problem I had was that I had gotten a groupon for $10 on $18 breakfast. I purchased it that morning and ate about 3 hours later. The groupon voucher was visible but not able to be redeemed. I showed the manager the email confirmation for 22% off the meal but he refused to honor it. He would not even offer a smaller comp. that upset me. I would probably return but with my groupon on hand not on my phone.

Downhill spiral. Out of items (out of bagels, out of rye bread--poor planning by management), limited options (got rid of mini 49'er option--why?) Staff seems annoyed, food is overcooked. Time for a new breakfast place. It's a shame, it used to be good, and as someone with celiac disease it was nice to have gluten free options which is the only reason we've continued coming over the past year as it has gotten progressively worse. Oh well. Onward.

This place is Extremely busy but the Food is great ! It's ORIGINAL LOL it's a breakfast place with all sorts of options from eggs Benedict to crepes and combination deals such as 2-2-2 for one price. I wanted to Try something thing interested so I had the "DUTCH BABY" lol it's a crepe bowl that has a hint of lemon but is only tasty with berries on top. IT takes 30min to make so I had one crepe as well, all in all it was 23$including a tip. People seem to think that they must be treated as if they are the only ones there . That does not exist .. When you are not at home , you must be patient she checked on me twice ! And the entire place was full!

Took 10 minutes to take our drink order then 45 minutes to get our food. Forgot to fill up our coffee multiple times and the food was cold when it finally got to the table. This the second time I have been here and I will never be back. The employees realize how terrible it is but don't do anything to change it

Waited for 10 min at hostess desk with my 95 year old grandfather and 11 month old baby. My grandfather couldn't stand any longer so we seated ourselves and an employee says that's fine, gives us menus and brings the baby a high chair. The MANAGER comes over and tells us we cannot sit there with a high chair and moves us across the restaurant making my 95 year old grandfather get up with his WALKER and rushing us to another table as they close at 2. I bring the baby to the high chair as I hear EVERYONE complaining about how slow it is, the food being terrible and staring at us as we have to schlep all throughout the restaurant with a baby and 95 year old man. Got up and left. NEVER WILL BE BACK. horrible customer service.

I am always blown away by the portions; it surpasses what you would expect for the price. The seasoned home fries are great, and the bottomless coffee is terrific. Service varies, but the wait staff is never insincere. We are slowly becoming regulars because of the food and relaxed atmosphere. It can get busy ao come early, before 9, or after 10 to get best service.

Kind of disappointed! Waited 1 hour for a baby apple pancake to come out and was told that they made it wrong! Found out they had new chefs in the back... Maybe they need to practice before opening... I also had a groupon that was paid for a long time ago and was told they do not accept it to call groupon for my money back. I think good customer service would've to honor the certificates already purchased.

Original Pancake House is a chain and comparable to iHop and Denny's, but they offer much better quality food. While all three restaurant offer orange juice, OPH gives you freshly squeezed, 100% orange juice. While the others offer stuffed French Toast made from who knows what, OPH offers a fresh version; you can actually make out the slices of bread and fresh cream filling. While the others serve Omelets (OPH does too), but OPH offers meals like Corned Beef Hash and the homemade kind at that. Despite the variances, their Eggs and Bacon were fairly standard. It's not fancy, top notch service or a unique place, but they do service a pretty fresh American breakfast, you wouldn't find at other chains.

Terrible service. My coffee was never refilled, the waitress got my order wrong, i gas to find my own flatwear and I asked for my check 3 times. I get better food & service at home!

Food was edible to horrible, waitress came to the table of six twice, once to deliver the food. Waited for a side of pancakes that never came, when we asked the waitress for them she said everyone is having issues and the manager will have to deal with it. Manager is ineffective, does not know how to run a restaurant, he might be better at washing the dishes. Horrible experience, I will not be giving them any more of my hard earned money.

I really like this place... When it comes to breakfast IHOP or Denny's doesn't even come close (in my opinion). I feel that I'm kinda loyal to the pancake house because I literally use search for a location wherever I am in south Florida and I won't even consider anywhere else point blank. At the same time I am an honest person and I won't sugar coat anything. I've been going to this place for years ever since I was introduced to the Aventura location and let me just say that that location is 5 stars easily. Service and food are stellar I've never had a less than above average moment there. They set the bar high and literally made me a loyal customer. I moved to Ft lauderdale and decided to try out the location in broward. I've gone to the location near broward mall or Westfield mall as its called now a few times and the experience there wasn't exactly what I expected after having such high expectations due to their Aventura location. It's barely ever busy but that's actually a good thing because I know the food won't be rushed. The food is honestly the best part of the experience. Fresh strawberries, coffee that pairs perfectly with the food and the meat is always juicy. I spend the extra money compared to IHOP and Denny's because the food is that good. I even signed up for a rewards card with them because I knew this would be a frequent stop for me. The food is what got them to 3 stars. The service on the other hand is why this isn't a perfect review. I came in the afternoon 1 day on the weekend and I'm assuming they were closed. I had to assume because they have theirs hours for Monday - Friday on the door but not for the weekends so me and my date are pulling on a locked door and the workers are passing the door looking at us and not acknowledging the fact that we are there. I'm asking are they closed, gesturing and people are walking by acting like they don't see me. That's not ok. I decided to tone down my review after a little thought. I'm not going to name names and throw anybody under the bus because jobs are hard to come by nowadays but customer service is a big deal in any business. I tip generously because like u said this is the only place I eat breakfast. Idk how much they value loyalty here but I think taking a little extra time training the workers on the basics of customer service would go far.

Came here on a Saturday for brunch around 12:30 and we were seated right away. I've been to the one in Weston a few years ago and wasn't impressed but my boyfriend loves this place. The staff was very nice and friendly. Everyone seemed to be helping everyone. Reminded me of Waffle House - very family oriented. I ordered a BLT with hashbrowns. I asked for onions and cheese in my hashbrowns. My boyfriend ordered a waffle with pecans and chocolate chips and a side of cornbeef hash. The BLT was really good. However, HUGE downside ... They charged me .99 for onions and $1.25 for cheese .... R E A L L Y I mean I had a hand full of diced onions and a sprinkle of shredded cheese .... This seems completely ridiculous to me! Maybe .30 or .60 even but a $1.25 - my god! I could have gotten a bag a Publix! The waffle was good and the cornbeef hash was just OK - honestly tasted like it came straight from a can. But we love cornbeef hash. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly. The food was good - but I'm overly disappointed in the massive up charge for something so small.

Me and my wife went here after longing for pancakes on our last day before flying back home to Sweden. First of there was a 20 minute wait for a table and then the omelettes always take 30min. However this time they messed up unfortunately by adding cheese even though we ordered without. So you can imagine our frustration after been waiting for our food over and hour to find out the kitchen got it wrong. They seemed to have some issues this specific day and our waiter went in to the kitchen screaming at the chefs. After about 2-3min another lady came out and to make a long story short they took of the omelettes with pancakes (chocolate- and peanutbutter chips) from our check. We ended up paying only for the coffee which was a fair gesture if you ask us. They offered us new omelettes but we weren't prepared to wait any longer for our food beeing so hungry after an already long wait!

It's always a fear trying new places, this one unfortunately justified all of our fears. Let's just cut to the chase here: * 35 minutes (we timed them) for a side of 'home-fries' * 65 minutes for our 2 entrees that we were informed would only take 30 minutes * No apology whatsoever from our waitress The food: * Apple Pancake- looks nothing like the picture and definitely is not a pancake, it's more like a very gooey undercooked crepe, you can't eat past about 3 bites- that's not due to it's amazing taste sadly. * Dutch Baby- it does look like the picture, but it tastes like something you'd think infant vomit would be comprised of. The texture is enough to put your stomach in knots- maybe some people like this? I feel like maybe it would be better if it had flavor and was cooked. * Home Fries- dry, flavorless, and come in a tiny portion if you order them as a side, they used 1 potato. Save your $. If you want specialty entrées and want it to be as good as it looks on the menu, don't come here. If you don't have over and hour to wait for food on a very slow afternoon, don't come here. I would consider giving them a second chance but I would order something very basic and request that I have it in less than a half hour, and of course I'd skip the unremorseful waitress as well. Should've gone to Wafflehouse =(

I went here with my friend a couple days ago. I remembered having the apple pancake about 12 yrs ago in Indianapolis and I was too excited to return when I found out that the location was not too far from our hotel. We went in on a Thursday morning and we were seated right away. The hostess was very attentive and made sure that we were happy with our seat and the server. I ordered the apple baby as soon as I saw our waitress. She said that it took around 30 minutes to come out....I didn't mind. 15 minutes later the baby was on our table...we tore through it like wolves...finished it before our meal came out. I ordered a baked omlet... not my thing, but it still had lots of flavor.

Last Sunday, I left the house excited to have breakfast with my wife and our friend. What a bad choice to go here. I really don't know where to start. They were busy, but far from swamped, it just seemed like no one knew what they were doing. After waiting about 30 minutes for our food, out comes two orders of the sorriest excuse for a huevos rancheros I have ever seen. No toast, and no food for anyone else. Cold. Very cold. They were served in a skillet, but I think they refrigerated the skillets instead of heating them. There was a pepper and onion mixture that seemed to have all the flavor sucked out of it ( boiled?) a couple of overcooked eggs, about 5-6 black beans and a misting of cheddar cheese. Served with a little plastic cup of what tasted like jarred Pace salsa, and a matching cup of sour cream it was severely underwhelming. I could have done better left alone for a couple of minutes in a 7-11 with a microwave. Seriously. About 10 minutes after that... a baked omelet came, short the sauce that was supposed to come with it. After asking, 5 min or so and a ramekin of what seemed to be cold mushroom soup showed up. What's up with all this cold food? Fast forward about 10 minutes and our pancake order showed up. They were in fact good. I was seconds away from asking for a manager and calling the whole thing off, but stopped short of that as it was meant to be a relaxing day with friends. Started asking for a check and about 30 minutes later... we were finally on our way. A total waste of time, and money. I wasn't expecting amazing Mexican food... but all in all this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time.

There aren't many breakfast options in Plantation, but if I could have any breakfast place in the area, I would probably take the Original Pancake House. The thing is, is I never really go for pancakes. If you go you've got to get an omelet. Now, the only bad thing is they seem to literally take forever. The time on the menu allows for a 20 minute way. Never have I ever received one in 20 minutes. I want to chew my arm off by the time the waiter brings me my meal. THAT BEING SAID, when you get your omelet it will be like World Peace was cured. It's like being kissed for the first time or getting asked out to Prom. It's so good I want to cry. The omelet is oven baked so it's nice and juicy. It's not dried out like something you'd get at a diner. It's like and fluffy and filled with whatever your heart desires. The service has always been par. No complaints in that respect. I've done take out there as well and everything was great. I've never tried their lunch food because, let's be honest, this isn't a place that springs to your mind when you're on your lunch break. Come for the breakfast. Stay a long time for the omelet. And leave happy and full.

I thought the food here was OK. It's nothing to write home about, but it might get you two and a half stars from me. The service brought you down. We were made to wait by someone who thought their telephone call was more important than the customers standing there, then taken to a table that clearly wouldn't fit our party, but when we turned around to address this, the receptionist was long gone. That's really not cool. Our server was pleasant enough, but not attentive enough to improve on our first impression.

Over-rated on Yelp. Sub-par eggs and pancakes. Crepes were good. I counted four apologies from our waitress for issues with our meal being delayed, the order being incorrect and the egg preparation being incompetent. I won't be returning.

The restaurant was less than a 10 minute ride from the Staybridge Suites on N. Pine Island Rd in Plantation FL. We stopped in for for breakfast. I had the Mandarin crepes, if your a crepe person, DON'T BOTHER!!!! This was one the most disgusting things I've ever eaten. A crepe is supposed to light , this crepe tasted like they put Mandarin oranges inside a cheese omelette, heavy and absolutely nasty. My wife had pancakes and sausages, and they were nothing to write home about. Obviously we won't be eating here EVER again!!!

The place was packed on a Sunday but everyone was hustling and I didn't feel delayed. The fresh orange juice is delicious and the Dutch baby is always a classic.

So right off the bat a major problem with this place is that they don't have breakfast combos. Crazy, right?! Their egg dishes come with a pancake OR toast. If you get their specialty pancakes or a crepe it comes with an egg OR sausage OR bacon. If you want the holy trinity you have to buy them separately. I dropped $40 including tip for a party of two. We both got coffee, an egg dish, toast and one crepe. This same thing would've cost you $23 max at IHOP. Now to the good part: we went on a Saturday morning and there was no wait for a table. Our waitress was attentive and the food was good. Although I did not try it, they have freshly squeezed orange juice that looked delicious. They have the machine in the back where you load the oranges in the top and it squeezes them. Basically this place is like a fancier Denny's or IHOP. The food was just ok. The crepes tasted artificial. If you come here be ready to drop some dough.

Original Pancake House is an amazing value. Amazing food for a very decent price. Big portions. Clean and friendly atmosphere. I recommend their bacon. It's absolutely delicious. Good hash browns too. Didn't get the opportunity to try any of the fancier pancakes, but the standard buttermilk were legit.

PEANUT OIL!!!!!!!! Let me first state that I love eating here and have been going to this location for many years and never had a problem til now. It has come to my attention that they use peanut oil and ALL of the pancakes contain the oil. You can find this serious food allergy alert in small print on the menu which I happened to find while I was coloring with my daughter on her menu at the very bottom. My son has a peanut allergy and for many people like myself would not ever think that peanuts would be in pancakes and especially with so many people with this serious food allergy. So the waiter stated that the waffles use a different batter so we went this option for my son for breakfast. The pancake house has had a long standing policy that kids eat free on weekdays. When I walked in I did see a notice that they were no longer taking Groupon but there was no notice that their kids eat free policy had changed. When I received my bill not only was my daughters meal on there they charged me $10 for my sons waffle! Who would ever pay $10 for a waffle and especially for a child for breakfast at your everyday pancake house? Plus that was the only option for breakfast without peanuts in it. I asked to speak to the manager. I explained to him I was unaware of the change in policy and it would have been nice if there was a notice about that change just like the one about the Groupon. Not only did I not know the table behind me did not know and neither did the other waiter. I knew this because I saw my waitress pull him aside and told him. Then he asked her since when?! Not even the other staff members knew of the change. The manager said he would take it off but not my sons. At that point I didn't even realize that the waffle was $10 until the manager stated he wouldn't take off the $10 waffle because it's not from the children menu. I was understanding still at this point and just asked that it be adjusted to atleast the children price. The manger said no he wouldn't do that. I told him that you have no other option for my child with a peanut allergy to eat with the rest of the family. The manager told me yes we do we have the grilled cheese sandwich. I looked at him and said how can I tell my 6 year old son that he can only have grilled cheese while everyone else has pancakes. If I would have known about the peanut oil and the change in policy on the door just like the Groupon notice before I sat down I would have chosen another establishment but we were there and already placed our drink order. I then said maybe you should have more options for people with peanut allergies because a lot of children have it and some parents would never dream to put peanut allergy with eating pancakes and that I was going to make sure that people out there know about the oil because it's dangerous. Luis the manger/owner was just very rude unprofessional and told me he felt sorry for me after I said I have to let people know about the oil because it's dangerous?! So I paid my bill and left. Then I checked my bank account and they have two pending transactions pending in my account holding $86! This was one expensive quick summer breakfast at our everyday pancake house that used to be our favorite spot. I feel that Luis should really take some lessons on how to approach customers and how to correct a situation with a little conflict as possible. They lost a few customers on something so little especially when it was an error on their part.

Husband and I went for breakfast. First time actually! #1 Food, we had omelet, eggs/cheese/scrambled, old fashioned country ham, turkey sausage patties. Sounds easy enough, right! Omelet was a enormous puff ball, tasting of bland meet, and like powdered eggs. Weirdest looking large puff ball ever seen. My scrambled eggs were ok with cheddar cheese. But the ham was the worst disappointment. It was a large piece of round "canned ham slice" with a bone in the middle and tasted awful, nothing like described. The patties tasted like water, no flavor. It was the worst breakfast we have ever had. Service was excellent, and our waitresses excellence didn't stop! To her I say thank you! I ask for pancakes, thinking maybe that was something they at least made??? Well another disappointment. Maybe they poured and cooked them, but that was no amazing tasting batter. Blaaaa! no flavor, and tasted like a frozen pancake. The only thing this place has going for it is the quiet atmosphere, the glass between booths to create some privacy for customers, and the excellent customer service. The food is subpar and not worth the effort of driving to the restaurant. I can get better food from a frozen box. At least at IHOP the food taste amazing.

Be mindful of what time you're going to the Original Pancake House. It's that "pretty good place" with mass appeal. Long story short, the wait staff could not keep up with the rush when I was there. No big deal. I can live with that when the food is done right and everyone is cheery. So, why did I go in the first place? Yes, it was the Dutch Babies pictures on Yelp--of course. I grew up with these breakfast delights, and I don't think I've seen them in a restaurant since the last time I was in Amish Country. The soufflé came out perfectly, which isn't easy if you've ever tried. I took it home for my girlfriend, she's a fan now. I think I'll go back sometime soon. But I'm going to sneak in early before everyone else.

Initially we came in as a party of three, soon after receiving our food we became a party of four. We noticed a two winged friend taking a nap in our butter. Gross. I ordered the western omelette, big mistake. Super dry and flakey.. Only saving grace was the pancakes.. I won't ever come back.

Food is always good and Sarah the server is one of the best servers we've had at any breakfast joint. Definitely ask for her she is a ray of sunshine in the morning.

The service is terrible starting with the hostess who hasn't a clue what she's doing. She seated people ahead of those on the wait list. It's always very hot inside and there were flies flying around. Their food is mediocre. My sliced tomatoes looked like mush. My coffee creamer had jelly all over it. The place isn't very clean either. This is the last time I'll ever go there.

The food was average. Nothing special. But the customer service here is terrible. I will not be coming back. I think their air conditioning was off. My waitress ignored me when I asked for a glass of water and was telling us the whole time that we shouldn't expect a good experience. Also pricey. Should have went to Dennys.

Good pancakes. Crepes were thick and undercooked. Server left SO much to be desired but management was pleasant and far more attentive than server.

The ONLY reason it is getting two stars is because the food IS AMAZING. The service is the worst I could possibly ask for. We came in Saturday, August 30th. Very very slow. We waiting a good 5 minutes to be greeted. The server NEVER introduced himself, NEVER asked how we were or made us feel welcomes. His voice was EXTREMELY low and we could barely hear him. He never checked on us to see how our food was, never brought us the ketchup we asked for. He didn't seem to like his job at all. I used to serve part time and I understand sometimes your shift isn't great but at least make your paying guest feel welcome. We did leave a tip, but only what he deserved and he got a note on the back on the tab with a letter of why he only got 15%. Will probably not be coming back.

I wish there were more breakfast places in Plantation. Unfortunately, there's a very limited number of them. This place is just OK in my opinion. It usually is very busy and the parking lot is a sh1t show 9 out of 10 times. I had to park way in the back of the restaurant. I asked for Strawberry french toast and didn't get any strawberries. Which kind of sucked but we did wait a little longer than I would've liked for our breakfast... so I just ate it as is. Coffee was always showing up which is great, but why they don't just leave a carafe on your table boggles my mind. Most of their meals are under $10 which is great. And there's a ton of kids here all the time. I would say this is about even with iHOP....

Flew into town from Philadelphia. This is a great place to eat for breakfast. The hostess was extremely friendly as was our waitress. Fast and delicious food. Would definitely return. Ask for Mel, the 'bald blonde.'

I ordered the bacon and egg meal which came with 3 pancakes and a side of potatoes which I substituted for grits. My boyfriend got the Irish omelette which came with 3 pancakes. The bacon was definitely 4 thick slices as the menu stated and the pancakes had a almond type homemade taste, delicious! My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his Irish omelette . The service was great. The food tasted homemade and natural especially the orange juice, freshly squeezed!

Quality just keeps sliding a little bit each time. Not sure why the service was slow slow considering it was not busy, maybe they were waiting for the eggs to hatch?? Sever should have asked me if I needed anything else rather than keep apologizing every time she ran by. Really need some better options for breakfast in the area....maybe will have to settle for Dunkin doughnuts next time.

So, this is my first time writing a review on Yelp, but I was so impressed with the service and food at this spot, that I had to give them a shout out. My friends and I were in town for a wedding and decided not to seek out the hotel's concierge for recommendations because their recommended restaurant from the night before had us being ignored for 20 minutes when we first sat down and the waitress subsequently arguing and trying to convince us that the kahlua and coke that she gave my friend was actually the caramel apple martini she'd ordered. They topped it off with double charging her. It was not pretty, but I'll write that review a little later. So we found ourselves at the Original Pancake House the next morning (with the help of Suri) and felt like we were welcomed into the kitchen of my grandmother's house. Well, not exactly my grandmother's house, but the friendliness and smiles of the staff and the amazingly good food elicited some nice, cozy, comfortable feelings. Our server was Omar and he was friendly, efficient, and full of great conversation. The manager was equally as friendly and came by to offer great suggestions of things to do in the area. The cooks and busboys even came over to say hello and I think flirt a little...lol! All of the food was great... huevos rancheros, pancakes, potatoes. I'd recommend the diced potatoes over the shredded homefries, but the winners by consensus were the banana french toast, the coffee, and the freshly squeezed orange juice. We enjoyed our experience so much, we went back the next morning and were once again welcomed like family and experienced great food and great service. And again, the banana french toast was the clear front runner. After a rough start to our trip, the Original Pancake House definitely more than made up for the rudeness and lack of customer service at the other restaurant. I think one of my friends summed it up with her comment, "Now that's customer service!" And that says a lot, because she has a high bar when it comes to dining experiences. Original Pancake House...score!

Fresh orange juice was excellent. Other than that, it is a solid place for breakfast items. It is more like a 3.5 stars thanks to the orange juice. I will be back though.

Hidden gem! Needed some breakfast before a round of golf and found this from other yelpers. Of course I had to get buttermilk pancakes and they were good but not great. My husband got a HUGE omelette but just ok. Good service.

I went to the OPH in Plantation for breakfast on Friday because it's across the street from my doctor's office. It wasn't busy so I was greeted and seated immediately then the wait began. My server took almost 10 minutes before she acknowledged my presence. She dryly asked for my drink order. I gave her my drink and food order because I'd had time to read the menu several times. She brought my food to the table and asked how was it. Of course I couldn't answer because I hadn't eaten one bite yet. She then put my bill on the table. I thought that strange and nonprofessional so I made a point of watching her and the other servers bring customers their orders. No one else received their bill with their food - just me. The other customers were allowed to finish their meals before receiving their bills. Hmmm... Anyway, the food. The pancakes were good but the scrambled eggs were overdone and the turkey sausage was swimming in grease. Maybe the waitress and the cook had a bad day but I think I'll stick to the OPH in Fort Lauderdale.

When we got here they were experiencing some type of power outage. They had no a/c, which wasn't bad since it was very cool out and they weren't able to make everything on the menu. But the people working there were really nice about everything and were taking care of everyone as best they could. We had about 10 people for breakfast, they took good care of us got the food out right away and everything was very good. Nothing to complain about.

To start, the service we received was excellent. One of the best we have ever had. EXCEPT for the person at the door. She was passive as she seated us. No good morning, no welcome, just follow me. Anyway our server was AMAZING. Young girl with a smile on her face and was very helpful and was very attentive. My husband ordered steak and eggs and loved it. I ordered the stuff french toast and it was delicious. We also ordered the dutch pancake and it was ok. It was good but very eggy. Just not our taste but i could see why people would enjoy this. That being said I found it to be a but expensive by a touch. $50 for two people for breakfast ? Granted we did order 3 plates and the quality of the food was excellent. Not sure i should even complain :) you get what you pay for right ? ;)

Slightly better than IHOP?!?! Are you people crazy?! When I first went here I was thinking oh it's just another chain it can't be much better than IHOP or Denny's but boy was I wrong. I would say I even prefer OPH over some of my favorite small local breakfast joints. OPH is way beyond better than IHOP. They have the best french toast I have ever ordered at a breakfast restaurant. The best pancakes (the 49ers are my fave!) and the most fresh orange juice I've ever had. Service has always been superb for me and I have never once had a problem.

Oh how I do love me some original pancake house! I've been coming here for years, even from before it was at this location and was where la brasa is now on university drive. This is now located on browsed blvd right across from the library. It gets packed, especially on the weekends. We waited ten minutes before we were seated and given a booth, which we had requested. I ordered a water and then an omelette with ham and onions with cheddar cheese with buttermilk pancakes. I also asked for all egg whites for an extra 2 bucks. My mom got the spinach eggs Benedict. The omellettes have always been excellent. I hate omelletes at other places where the cheese just sits on top... They actually put the cheese in the omellete which is important. It was super fluffy and light. And the buttermilk pancakes are my absolute favorite pancakes ever. Kind of have a yeasty quality to them. Overall, a great breAkfast place

This was a last second decision on my part for breakfast and I wasn't disappointed. The only thing I would have to say was a negative was the hostess; she was a young thing and not very customer service oriented. But once I got past her my entire experience was really good. I ordered the 'Pigs in Blanket', they were plump sausages wrapped in a small pancake served with an Orange syrupy compote. I was pleasant surprised because usually I drown them in maple syrup. I ordered their home fries that also very good and spiced just right. I will keep this place on my radar on future trips to the area.

I used to love coming here but now that I'm watching what I eat I have noticed they don't have healthy options. The only two veggie items I saw on the menu are built your own omelette or the spinach Benedict. Portions are huge and a bit greasy. The service is ok, but is usually so busy that you don't really get great service. Overall is an ok place to eat brakfast.

the corn beef is excellent.. flaky and tastes so much better than other restaurants, the french toast with a hint of almond was also delicious.. the star of our meal though, was the dutch baby! totally worth the 30 minute wait! our server anthony was cool too!

Was okay. Ordered peanut butter crepes. Too much peanut butter. But service from Gio was excellent.

Recommending IHOP over one of the only edible breakfast places west of University Drive is a joke. Everything here actually tastes like it was made with some sort of care and quality, and the service is a little spotty but at least friendly. I haven't had anything bad here, they have a few unique items on the menu (like the apple baby, excellent btw!), and compared to the other sit down "options" in the area, they serve a very decent breakfast. If you are looking for a higher quality breakfast, there is really nowhere else to go besides First Watch.
