Very good meal recommend giving them a try. The shrimp was very fresh. The gumbo was just ok but I will definitely come back.

Outdoor deck seafood! We were literally the only customers at 7:00pm so we had a strange first impression but overall, we were highly impressed. The food is great! My scallop PoBoy was awesome. Everyone was pleased with their fish/chicken/burger baskets. The grouper was wonderful. The service was great!

We have enjoyed each dining experience we have had at Slip's. The food is always hot and fresh, great tasting, and an excellent value (a nice serving of food for reasonable price). The waitresses and staff are very friendly and make us feel comfortable and welcome every time. One of my absolute favorite things about Slip's is the tasty breading that is used on the fried foods, like the fried chicken - it is actually made specially by the restaurant and it is delicious! It gives the food a signature taste that is so good and totally unique to Slip's. We will definitely be coming back again very soon, we love the menu there.

I am a young professional. I am from the Midwest, yet love seafood when I get the opportunity to enjoy it! I would classify this place as a local dive/diner style eatery. I had first looked up another place, but it was far too crowded. In driving down the road, I came across this place. I am generally hesitant to stop at places at random, but I found that other Yelp users had ranked this place fairly high, so I figured I would give it a shot. The Fried Mullet/Shrimp were fresh and well breaded. The breading itself was scrumptious and savory yet light enough to not leave you feeling too greasy. I also ordered a side salad, which came with surprisingly excellent house Italian dressing. The salad appeared to have come out of a "pre-mixed" bag perhaps, but oh well, this was a small matter. The crinkle-style french fries may have been some of the best I have EVER had. I am not a fry guy, but I prefer crispy, fresh, well salted fries and these hit the spot. They were also lightly tossed in a cajun powder, which added a slight kick of flavor. The service was excellent, and the bathroom (outside, maybe a downside if inclement weather) was clean. A bathroom in the south, clean? Wow. Especially pleasant considering the age/condition of the building, decidedly aged yet quaint. The side of the store also features a mural painted on the wall, which is worth looking at on the way out. Overall, completely worth stopping! Great stop if you are looking for a nice seafood dive!

I spotted this place as I was driving by. It looked interesting so I turned around to try it out. I had the shrimp and oyster combo basket. The shrimp and oysters were very good and fresh and the breading was good as well. It was a tad bit too greasy but it's fried food, what do you expect I guess. I'll definitely try this place again.

With new management came some unwelcome changes. If you prefer to eat there, you're forced to sit at a table and accept a waitress. It used to be that you gave your order to someone behind the counter and sat where you wanted -- without the need to tip a waitress. Other than that, the chicken and fish are outrageously good. The iced tea is a bit expensive and light. One does leave the restaurant smelling of grease due to a bit inadequate ventilation system (you can sit outside if you can hack the heat). Even though the food is good, I've probably eaten there for the last time so I'm not forced to have a waitress and pay a tip at a fast food restaurant.

I have to give Slip's a good review for the sake of nostalgia. It really is one of my favorite places in Pensacola for a good, cheap lunch. And when I say cheap, I mean CHEAP. For a little over $12, my wife and I ordered a chicken basket, chicken strip sandwich w/ fries, a soft drink, and an excellent Drifter Pale Ale ($1 draft). However, I did notice today that the service just isn't what it used to be. Slip's used to have some excellent staff, but on this trip, we waited....and waited....and waited for our food. Without some better management, I hate to say that I think this location might not make it either, although I certainly hope that doesn't become a reality. Try the mullet and, oh yeah, cheers!
