Good place to watch sports... The food was nothing to be impressed. I had the wings and they were ok and my husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich. His would have been descent if they had actually put some buffalo sauce. I wish I could give this place a higher rating because it's a cool place. I think if their food was better they would do more business.

Someone take the salt from the cook, possibly the worst food I have had in the pensacola area and I have lived here for over 14 years. Clams over salted and under cooked, garlic bread would have been better if it was frozen. And don't even get me started on the eggplant what a waste of a poor plant. Someone teach the cook to cook. My visit was on 27 july 2013 we had iced tea for the wife two mich lites for me, food was clams, salad and onion soup for the wife which again wayyyyyy too salty so she returned it I had the sad excuse for eggplant parm. Never again.at least the beer was cold. Wife said salad was good

Great located dive in heart of downtown Pensacola on Palafox close to all the bars. Been here for quite awhile. I only had the wings. I typically get the torch and scorch extra hot buffalo wings "grilled"and a side of sauce incase it's not enough. They're actually not too spicey. Gotta ask to grill them because they serve them fried only, but if you specify grilled, they'll finish them off on the grill. Excellente' ! Drink specials on brews are sparse. They do have 1.50$ rolling rock in my opinion a whole lot better than most bars 1$ PBR

Bree is excellent, and Nick isn't nearly as bad as some folks say. Check it out when you're in the area and in a casual mood.

If you're in the mood for good food, good times, and good people -- then NY Nicks is the place for you!! Thanks, to Nick and staff, for making our trip to Pensacola a memorable one. Let's go Orange!

When there are so many fantastic restaurants downtown, I just cannot recommend wasting your time here. The food was poor to average, the service was fine, the atmosphere was meh. (From other reviews, it seems people like to come here to watch sports which I cannot comment on since we just popped in for dinner on a Wednesday night and ate outside.) The food is also rather pricey...especially for the quality. Would not recommend or go back.

Good place to watch sports. There are TV's everywhere. The one with the game I was watching (the MNF game, so everyone was watching it), kept cutting out. Annoying. I was super sick that night, but was visiting town, and had people to meet which is why I was out. I ordered an orange juice and a vodka and orange juice (gotta keep up with the others). The server was a total angel, and kept bringing me plain orange juice with a smile on her face, though I know that's an annoying request with little to no reward for a server. The french onion soup...was odd. The broth tasted great, but the croutons had this bizzare taste, almost overwhelmingly sweet - like they were from an super-seasoned bread and instead of soaking up the flavor of the soup, they brought this weird herby taste to the soup. I pushed the majority of them to the side of my bowl, and when I was done eating, the croutons remaining took up about half of the bowl. Boo. Oh well. My friends ordered wings, with the killer spicy sauce on the side. They aren't kidding about the spice in that stuff. One teensy little taste and the sauce remained on my tongue for about 20 mins. Bottom line, I loved our server, but didn't care for my soup. The TV's kept going out and then just before the end of the game (which wasn't a close one, but I still appreciate seeing the end), someone switched the TV to, ew, basketball?? Horrors. I'd go back, but I'd stick with what they advertise on their logo.

place is ok, downtown is lacking in weeknight food options but i was at World of Beer and really wanted some wings. Since WOB doesn't serve food I called New York Nicks for some wings to go and i would pick them up, then bring em back to WOB. Well when i picked them up i got to find out they charge a .25 to go fee! Who charges more for food when I the customer am literally picking it up?! So the price came down to $1/wing which I think is a little high. The wings themselves were pretty good decent amount of meat and no funky looking wings, although there was almost no sauce on the wings. Overall a so-so experience hence the 3 stars, I could believe the extra pick up fee. If there was a secondary option for wings in the downtown I would probably order from them next time

A pretty large sports bar for the area (that I've found anyway). Everyone was friendly enough, TONS of tvs, plenty of tables, pool, etc. The menu looked like it had a good selection for a sports bar. Just got some cheap beers here, so I'm not sure what kind of drink selections they offer. I only saw one single person bathroom that was sort of awkward, in that tight spot sort of way. It's located right on Palafox Street, so if your bar hopping in Pensacola, your bound to find you way here. No cover, so it works well. If you need to get away from sports and listen to music, your bound to find at least one band playing at any of the bars across the street.

Pretty cool sports bar located downtown in Pensacola. Lots of cool memorabilia on the walls. If you are there to watch a game, the tvs probably are not as good quality as some of the chains, but this is a local business.

The food is decent, which would have given it a 2 or even 3 star rating, but add rude, bad service and you get my 1 star rating... Ive been here maybe 3 times, and today was my last time since the service is the same....Was totally ignored by the all female waitress staff for what seemed like an eternity before anyone came to say hi or take our drink order, and the owner Nick is a total ...rhymes with the word Nick, dick, and "prick"(had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with him at work) I had their grilled chicken sandwhich and fries which was good, not great... but with service like this, I will just find another place to spend my money...there are way too many places to choose from on Palafox St,

I saw someone's review about smoking being allowed in New York Nick's. You can't smoke inside the bar when food is being served; which is most of the time. That's one of the reasons I really like it. They do have a place for people that smoke to go smoke outside. Another thing that I really am looking forward to and have enjoyed earlier this year is that besides football they have all sports, even, for geeks like me, Soccer! I watched World Cup qualifying matches there and last time watched the World Cup Final with other fans which was great. I look forward to doing that again this June.

I've been here several times & so far all the food has been good. Tonight I had the grilled chicken wrap, surprisingly tasty chicken. I struggled with that or the fish wrap...just can't do fish in a wrap though. Great environment, lots of tv's w/all sports along w/pool tables & good beer. Great hang out!

Great buffalo chicken sandwich & place to watch the games in historic downtown. Don't know that I'd seek it out if there wasn't a game on though (like not just a dinner joint kind of place.

Better with a group of friends, although the patrons are amiable enough. Located amidst lots of other bars and eateries in downtown Pcola, you can stop in and grab a beer on your pub crawling tour. The meatball sub is tasty, and although the meatballs are sliced (generally a pet peeve of mine), the slices are about 1/2" of goodness. The marinara sauce is tangy and you can actually taste the cheese. I'd recommend that dish. A couple of hours later, some people down the bar had some nachos delivered to them, which I don't remember seeing on the menu, and I wanted to go steal them...they looked and smelled that delicious. Friendly bartenders, when they aren't very busy or understaffed. This is my go-to place to hang out for parades and such, because of its capacious size and ease of entry/egress. If you've done any research at all on NYN's, you'll know that a lot of people ascribe asshole-like qualities to him. He can certainly be that way, but I've noted on numerous occasions that he doesn't suffer fools blithely, which is a boon if you just want to hang out and not be bothered by dooshbags intent on drama or antagonism. Nick's is probably the only place south of, say, the Ohio/WV threshold where you can buy cans of Genesee Cream Ale. At $1.75 per 12-oz. can, it's a bargain. I drank enough to construct a 5-level pyramid last night from the empty cans. Good times. I said "last night," but I was actually there 10 hours, so I wasn't hammered or even close. Stop by and give it a whirl. You might like what you find, but if you don't, there are lots of options in the general vicinity.

This place is a joke. The food is so horrible, I wouldn't even give it to my dog. And trust me, I'm not some food snob and I am not some overly opinionated Yelper. I just expect edible food when I'm paying overpriced amounts for it. I've been here a couple times and have been disappointed every time. The waitresses lackadaisically stand around, staring at their nails and chit chatting with each other rather than doing their job. Last time I was here, we sat down and had at least 4 waitresses walk by without offering any service. And of course, when we finally got someone to help us, she gave us a glazed-over look of boredom. The food, my god, the food. I mean, should I even call it food? I got nachos the first time. Actually, let's say A nacho because the cold, rubbery cheese on all the chips melded them into one large chip. On top of this large chip was lettuce, bits of tomato, and "ground beef" that only the cook knows how old it is. Let's move on to our last (and I also mean our final) trip. Chicken fingers. How can you mess up chicken fingers? While sitting at our table, eagerly (and hopefully) waiting for decent chicken fingers, we were brought what looked like fried animal waste. It was overcooked, rubbery pieces of chicken breast. As I attempted to eat one, I was greeted with an abundance of juices (and not the good kind) and the breading immediately crumbling off. These were clearly frozen, oh maybe, 10 minutes ago and were thrown into the fryer for us. Sorry, this is not how such a basic appetizer should be made. It's not that hard. I wasn't expecting great food from this place, but I wasn't expecting such crap either. If I could, I would give this place zero stars. The fact that it has three stars makes me laugh.

After patiently waiting for an hour and a half for wings and watching people walk in and get their food before us, my friend asked to speak to the manager. All we wanted was some sort of an apology, what we got was a belligerent angry man telling us to leave and to "Tweet about it"! Disgusted, we got up and paid the waitress for our drinks, before we left about four of the waitresses said he treats them the exact same way. It is just unfathomable how a man with absolutely zero social skills can own a restaurant/bar, having to deal with human beings. With that said, in the nicest way possible, between the wait for less than mediocre bar food and the half of a man owner, I will absolutely never return to New York Nicks. It repulses me that anyone would go to this facility and put a cent into that man's profit.

I was really disappointed with this place. We went to watch a football game and I didn't want to stay long enough to drink half of my beer! TVs are old and crumby, they ran out of seating/tables (and it wasn't even THAT busy) and our waiter forgot to keep up with us- not to mention she didn't know what was on tap (maybe she was new, but still)! The biggest downer was that there was smoking allowed. I COULDN'T BREATHE! It was awful. Maybe I'll go back someday... when it's smoke free.

This going to be one odd review as I am neither a sports or bar person, but I've experienced the absolute best Italian dishes here in my life. My friend and I stumbled in because it was open and we just wanted basic bar food. We seat ourselves with dozens of TV's blaring and a casually dressed waitress in shorts took our order. Puzzled that clams in buttered garlic sauce and shrimp pasta was on the menu, we ordered it anyway. Rule of thumb is, don't order food that's not the restaurant's speciality, I.e. don't order a burger at a seafood place - you're setting yourself up for disappointment. This was the biggest exception. Clams were delicious (a tiny bit sandy though) and their pasta was creamy, and exploding with flavor. The best part was the texture of the pasta - perfect al dente with this awesome doughy texture with a slight chew. The ABSOLUTE. BEST. PASTA. EVER. I find out they get imported pasta which may be why but it tasted homemade. I went to Little Italy in NY later that year and searched out a restaurant with homemade pasta and it didn't even compare. Your senses are going to be out of whack because you're eating this elegant delicious meal in what appears to be a dive bar. Even their chicken tenders were crazy fresh and delicious. This place takes their food seriously - I'm dying to go back!

So, I went to go watch the Packers vs. The Falcons game tonight. I sat down and ordered a Stella Artois, nevermind that I ordered it bottle form, but a small mistake, no problem. I'm about 10 minutes into the game and the bartender asks me if I would like to look at the menu. I decide on the "Famous" New York Nicks steak sandwich. She then proceeds to ask me what side I would like with it after my inquiry into what sides were available. She makes a strong suggestion for the broccolli because it is "effin good". I ask if it comes with cheese. She says, no hun but I can put a side of nacho cheese with it. Great! sounds like a winner or so I'm thinking... 10 minutes go by and they bring out my order, a buffalo chicken sandwich with hot sauce and fries. I don't notice the sandwich at first... only the fries. The bartender then says "Oh sorry, they put hot sauce on the sandwich". The fries I'm even willing to overlook, big deal right, I'll deal with it. They begin to take it back, she then doubles back after I say "I don't really mind". Upon closer inspection of the sandwich I realize this is not what I ordered. I tell her "I ordered the New York Nicks Famous Steak Sandwich". She then proceeds to ahem "correct me". "No you didn't", well actually "yes I did". Don't you remember your rave on the broccolli? She then gets upset with me and makes a drink for one of the patrons down the line and slams the drink mixer on the bar. I ponder this for a total of 5 minutes, unreactive...pondering. I suddenly realize that I'm a paying customer, I shouldn't have to put up with this @$!#. I leave a $20 bill on the table and go where my business is appreciated. New York Nicks, I've had good experiences at your bar in the other times I've been there...but seriously work on better customer service, this is unacceptable. If anyone has had the broccoli, let me know if it was worthwhile. I walked out without before my meal was served. Hopefully someone had a good meal tonight on my tab.

This place is the place to go to watch sports! It has several dividers that enable different fans to congregate in different areas, all while LISTENING to the game you care about. Service was stellar. My server talked me into the beer special, which always saves money and is nice. I went alone for a noon (EST) college football Saturday, leaving the kids and wife at home. As I was leaving a group came in for the early afternoon games with a baby in a stroller. I would rate it as kid friendly, provided there isn't an SEC game on that packs the place. Next time, my kids are coming en tow. And most importantly, the food....5 STARS from me. The buffalo chicken sandwich is correctly labeled in the menus as the "BEST DAMN BUFFALO CHICKEN SANDWICH. PERIOD". It comes with 2 complete chicken breasts on a toasted garlic bun...AWESOME! I wiil never look at the menu here again.

I just moved to Pensacola a month ago, and this was my first Gallery Night experience. My boyfriend and I stopped at New York Nick's before enjoying a few beers with friends and browsing the local arts and crafts sellers. The only reason we came to this particular restaurant was because there was no wait. We sat at the bar and had great service from the bartender. Our food came (which was delicious - we both got the Italian sausage sandwich) when the customer next to me yells at "Nick" (who I'm assuming to be the manager or owner) that she needed some service from the bartender to which he replied, "She's laying right here!" My boyfriend and I were shocked. Apparently, a bartender passed out!!! There were about 3 EMT's there at that point, and we proceeded to watch "Nick" tell the EMT's that he knew nothing about this girl - she was hired a week ago. He then turned around, took a shot, and walked away. I was a server for 4 years, and I am so grateful to say that I have never had a boss like "Nick." I had so much empathy for this bartender who was stepped over by coworkers and management while she was clearly in need of medical attention. I was appalled. It was obvious that the priority at New York Nick's is to make money and they have a disturbingly low amount of concern for their staff. Needless to say, we won't be taking our business there again. The bartender was taken out on a stretcher, and I'm sure she received the appropriate care from the medical staff present.

I work downtown so I have been here a few times for lunch (wasn't my idea). I have never been impressed. Just to name a few: their burgers are full of fat, the appetizers taste like they were previously frozen, the fried shrimp are swimming in grease, everything feels dirty, and the servers are always rude. Don't waste your money here. There are so many other options downtown. And yes, all of those other places have TVs for watching sports. No wonder they're worried about the food trucks coming to Palafox. With food like that I'd be worried too.

My brother and I went to see a NBA playoff game early May on a Thursday night. it wasn't very crowded. They had tons of TVs and pretty much every imaginable sport televised. I believe the wall we watched had 2 NBA playoff games, 2 different MLB games, and 1 cage fighting show on. They have alot of celebrity pics with the owner and other staff throughout the years; I thought it was interesting. We were hungry and the bartender/waitress young lady advised us to go with the wings, that they make all of their sauces from scratch. So, we went with 2 orders of 10 grilled wings each (NOT fried). 1 with spicy BBQ and 1 with garlic honey. When they came out, I was really SHOCKED at how good they tasted, but, thought this is a bar, the food should taste like bar food. So, I said to my brother, "is this like the best wings you have ever tasted or am I mistaken?". He wholeheartedly agreed with my assessment. The wings were absolutely delicious. We thought the garlic honey was the better sauce. As we traveled through other parts of Florida gulf coast and had restaurant/bar experiences, we kept finding ourselves joking about I sure wish I was at NY Nicks getting some wings right now. I don't know much about the rest of the food at NY Nicks, but, I can say of all the wings I had before, they were definitely the best I have ever had.

They have a sign on the sidewalk that reads If there's a game on, we have it". I believe it. they have at least 35 tv's. Decent service and every sports game.... what more could a sports fan want? I will definitely be back to watch college games on Saturday's.

Great wings, mostly great service. It's a sports bar- don't expect classy and expectations will be met. 90's rock always playing which always kind of cracks me up, did here my favorite Jane's Addiction song tonight!

Maybe I'll go back someday... when it's smoke free.

place is ok, downtown is lacking in weeknight food options but i was at World of Beer and really wanted some wings.
