I haven't been here in years since I moved away and now back...I stumbled upon it while driving through the new renovations at University Mall plaza whatever it's called. My husband has never been and we decided to give it a try. We were both pleased by the friendly service, great food and prices. I had the steak fajitas. They were tender and juicy. Not overcooked like most places. The onions and peppers were also cooked perfectly too and not mush or too crunchy. Hubs had the chimichanga and the chicken was superb. The margarita specials are very reasonable and the chips are made there and are not overly salted. It's is by far the best Mexican food in Pensacola. We will be back!

I love fajitas and by the glowing review of them below I figured id did give them a shot. It said below that they were also a great price so I was pretty excited. The fajitas were $12 for steak which is pretty much the normal at this type of restaurant, I don't mind, but I wouldn't call it "cheap." The portions were very large, I'll give her that. Now... I do agree the flavor was good and it was well cooked. The only thing was I thought it was just way too greasy. However my husband liked his and the greasiness didnt bother him. If you don't mind too much grease then it's worth a try.

Had $2 Dos Equis greens last night. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. Friendly service and a fun atmosphere.

First the food, The salsa is served in a small bowl that inhibits using a whole chip and is sub par in flavor. The chips are too thick and hard. For my entree I chose the pablano peppers topped w cheese, beef and chicken. The peppers had the just amount of heat the steak and chicken was fair. The margaritas were over priced at two for $4.59. They were served in a small glass and tequila was absent from the mix. They charge extra for take out $1.00 for cheese sauce.

I've been going here for years with my family, true it's not what it used to be before the recession, but it's still a great place to go. The quesadillas and nachos are a really great deal though.

Off the beaten path but worth finding. Fast service, good food and relaxing atmosphere. Good specials on Margaritas. The lunch specials were many and varied. The lunch portions were comparable to dinner portions I have had other places. If I lived in the area I would be here often.

I love eating here, they give you complimentary chips and salsa (I love there salsa!) and the food is very cheap. I can have a meal and a margarita for less than 10 bucks!

Wow, really? Only one review? Cheap food and drink, good service, open later than most places in Pensacola. What's not to like?

I went to this restaurant based on the reviews but was extremely disappointed. I love Mexican food but the food here is pretty bad. I got the burrito with shredded beef instead of ground beef and it ended up being more of an enchilada than a burrito. It only had beef in the burrito with red salsa and cheese on top. I ended up putting the salsa they gave with the chips on my burrito so that I could mask the taste it had and actually eat it. My husband had the enchiladas which didn't taste good either. When he said the food was pretty bad I knew it was yelp review time. He's usually happy with whatever he orders. He said that food was edible but who wants to pay for food that's just edible. And he definitely has a point.

Coming from San Diego I was expecting the usual American "Mexican" food that is not comparable to actual Mexican food. I was highly disappointed even with lower expectations. Canned tomato paste for enchilada sauce? Unseasoned ground beef for filling? Really? The food got -1 star, but the 99 cent margaritas and Dalena's live bachata, merengue, and salsa music redeemed my rating to 2 stars. I do NOT recommend eating here.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
