Good food. Kids meal is actually pretty good. I will go back for Buffett

I made the trip across town because I heard this place had a $5.99 lunch buffet. That must've been a special for their grand opening because now it's a whopping $9.99 + your drink. By the time you pay a tip, you're looking at $14 for lunch. Who can afford that these days? C'mon India Palace, the Chicken Tikki Masala and Lamb Curry is da bomb! But I can't go back until you lower the price a little!

Pensacola. Not known for ethnic food however this place rocks. Traditional Indian cuisine and great service. There are only two Indian places in in town and this is by far the best. We live at the beach and travel 30 mins here. Much better than the flight to India!

We just ate here for the first time and were impressed. Great Indian food and a very kind server! We'll definitely be back!

They advertise a buffet that has not existed for 2 years . the food was average but expensive. The service was mediocre. I would not return

We like going here with a bunch of friends, especially seeing as they are not very busy most of the time. The food is decently priced and is one of the best tasting Indian places in town. Depending on your group size, it could take quite a while before you get your food. I am assuming is is because they opperate on very limited staff. Overall s good place to get Indian food.

Awesome. My hubs is from Dublin and my first experience with Indian was there and then London, this place comes close I tell you, so when I visit my sister I go here!

Food was okay. We ate next to a table that needed to be cleaned. Only 4 customers so they weren't busy and could have cleaned the table so we would have had to look at it the whole time during our meal.

This is the best indian food I've had in Pensacola, hands down! The Vindaloo is always my go-to curry, and here it doesn't disappoint. At other restaurants in town it can be greasy and a strange red color, but here it is perfect (and looks as vindaloo should!). I have also tried the Kadai chicken and I always get Saag as well. The Saag is the best I have ever had... So creamy, so delicious. Oh and the garlic naan is a must! Best naan bread in Pensacola! The family that owns this place is so nice and they really do make the best Indian food in town, so go give them a chance! The building needs some updating, but when it all comes down to it the food is what you are paying for and it is worth every penny. We now go here at least once a week, and you should too!

Came here for dinner and really liked it. It's a great place to go if you've never had indian food before. We got the naan, veggie pakora, chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, aloo gobi, and gulab jamun. I would recommend ALL of these for someone who doesn't know what to order. They are excellent here. Plus you can order them mild or spicy. Definitely going back!

This place is delicious! Very authentic, spice level was great. This was a first for my teens and they really enjoyed it. Even my picky eater. The decor was definitely outdated but the food will have you forgetting all about the decor.

We really enjoyed this place when they first opened, but today was a big disappointment. We came in shortly after 11am (the posted lunch hours are 11-3) and they were still mopping the floor with pine sol - about the most unappetizing smell on Earth - and we thought they weren't open yet maybe because the lights were so dim. We immediately noted the buffet was gone. I like Indian food just fine, but I prefer the buffet because I haven't committed to learning what everything is named, so that was a big bummer. We decided to stay and order off of the menu. A lady came to take our order and that's where things made a big downturn....when we ordered our appetizer and said we need a few more minutes to pick out lunch, she just stood there staring at us. So, we asked a question about one of the lamb dishes and she just drifted away without answering. We left. Hopefully I can get the pine sol fumes out of my system before I get to the other Indian restaurant.

The lunch buffet doesn't have a ton of items but what it does have is really good. I have to say that it is one of my favorite places to go for lunch in Pensacola. The staff are friendly and it is very convenient to stop in and get a good quick meal.

Defiantly try the buffet to see what you like. I prefer dinner here, hot tender chicken I love Chicken Tikka Masala the best and naan. Great night out for the whole family. I tried Taste of India once and the food was too spicy and really greasy not much chicken just sauce. I will stick to Indian Palace from now on.

Food is okay, but I prefer Taste of India on Cervantes

Addicting! I've been for dinner and the lunch buffet. My goodness is the food delicious. The korma curry is the best I have had; hand's down. The dinner is a little pricey (but good sized portions), so I definitely prefer the lunch buffet. The staff is also friendly. I would give 5 stars but the decor is dingy and run-down. With some renovation, this could easily be the best Indian place on the Gulf Coast! Keep up the good work.

Just ate there two days ago. Service was great and the food was delicious. They were also very accommodating with my friend who wanted them to add lamb to one of the dishes. They serve the food in a family eating style where they just put it in the middle and give everyone plates, so if you're into sharing this is a great place. My room-mate used to dislike Indian food because of a bad restaurant, but this place changed his mind.

I ate here last Friday and got the lunch buffet. I'm by no means an expert on this style of food, but I have eaten at my fair share of Indian restaurants in the states and abroad. I was very pleased with India Palace, and I would highly recommend it. The buffet is not huge, but it has a good selection; and the food was great. Really great, especially for a buffet. In my opinion, the chicken biryani and palek paneer were standouts. I've paid twice as much at other Indian Restaurants and received meals that were not on par with the food at India Palace. It's by no means fine dining; although it looks like they are bringing in new tables, the majority of seats at the restaurant are at tables that were left over from when this place was a Sonny's. I thought this was kind of funny and I actually enjoyed it, but the southern-home-cookin'-Sonny's mascot kind of clashes with the traditional Indian pictures that the new management has on the walls. All in all, this place is great. The buffet is an awesome deal.

A good place for dinner to spice things up a bit. This is the better of two Indian food restaurants in Pensacola I've tried, and the only one that my friend's Afghan wife would eat at. I did used to like Taste of India, but this is my new favorite, and more conveniently located. Chicken vindaloo is very good, and can be made super spicy if you insist (I enjoy lots of scovilles, so... if you really do like hot - try it). They also have a hot skillet of wings that will bring words to your mouth as if it's the 4 of July; very good. The naan bread can be ordered regular or garlic, and both are quite good. I swear naan bread is like the crack cocaine of baked goods - it's super addicting. The grand opening lunch buffet was okay, but if it's really $9.99 + drink like Chris H. reviewed, then I would pass on that, and order what you really want later at night. Hot, fresh and made-to-order is always better than luke warm buffet trays.

I was really excited to find this place while I was up in pensacola. I tried out their buffet since I wasn't sure how they cooked their chicken tikka masala. It was good except it was all so salty!! I was sadly disappointed because I normally LOVE indian food. My little guy enjoyed their tandoori chicken and plain basmati rice so it was good in the end. It looks like they have a few other indian restaurants around town so I'll keep looking around.

Update: The quality of the food on the buffet did decline. Additionally, a friend convinced me to try Taste of India again (the last time I had them was years ago when they were in the Ramada/Quality Inn on Scenic and it was dreadful). Taste of India costs the same and has a far fresher buffet with better tasting food. I won't say that India Palace is bad, but I wouldn't go back since there are better alternatives.

The BEST chicken tikka masala I have ever had. And trust me, I've been around the block when it comes to Indian food. I've only ever had good experiences here, either during the lunch buffet and dinner. The atmosphere may leave something to be desired, but what this place lacks in ambience it makes up for in great taste. While it is true that in the many times I've been I haven't strayed far from the tikka masala and chicken biryani, if the quality of those two meals says anything about the rest of the menu, it's definitely worth a try.

We ate there opening week, loving the food, service and price. It has a way to go - trying to figure out who likes what, decor (a former BBQ place), but outside of that, just bring on the great food

The chicken tikka masala and chicken biryani are the best. I have been a customer since these guys were in Montgomery, AL. I travel frequently from Alabama to Pensacola just to get their food. The guys are very nice and the service is always great. I am and will be a loyal customer.

Quality Indian food, freshly made to order with fresh ingredients. They will also add certain things to your dish on request, no problem. Friendly staff. Good size portions too, I get takeout and it lasts me 2 meals. Definitely worth a visit. The building doesn't match the food, but the flavors make up for it.
