This is a fantastic find. It is unfortunate that I don't have many reasons to head to the the West side of P'cola more often. The Grape Garden is a beacon of foodie hope for our small town. The dining room was spotless and the all to common buffet which I dread was nowhere to be found. The service taking our orders was extremely polite and efficient and we begged for a moment to look through long list of dishes. This space is a Big Lots neighbor so don't expect designer a dining room, nothing personal about an East side Sharky restaurant that emerged last year but, they should have saved the money on the fountain and black paint and hired the chefs at Grape Garden. The fair is a down to earth Chinese-American grouping of favorites like Sweet and Sour, Egg Rolls, Won Ton Soup, etc. That being said, the first thing that impressed me was the down-to-earth prices. The combos were less than $7 today. The plates were hot, heaping, and clearly just cooked, heaping portions of protein and rice. we sampled the basics of Sesame Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork that come with your choice of white or stir fried rice and an egg roll. Each plate had portions were clearly appropriate for two. That didn't slow us down, after all we do have Pro-Am waistlines. The stir fried rice and egg roll were clearly as fresh as the main dish. We waddled out too full for less than $17 including two sodas. The skinny: The restaurants on the East side of town need to take note. And even if you don't have any business in the Warrington area, you should take the drive.

Cheap, decent food, huge portions. Definitely not the best Chinese I've had, but you get what you pay for. This is my go to for takeout on a lazy day. If you want quantity over quality, this is your spot.

I love their menu here! Lots of choices. I usually end up ordering at least three different entrees when i go. I can never pick just one! If you need a quick bite stop here!

I probably would have given this place three stars, because this really isn't a sit down kind of place, they just don't have the man power to deal with it, which if fine. They have a huge menu like most Chinese/American cuisine, and with that good choices which most people will be accustom too. The food is in very good portions, but I will say that I always get the feeling when I am eating Chinese food as a whole that I feel like I'm getting jipped on the meat, what do I have to ask for double meat? LOL This is probably the best place that you are going to get "Take Out" chinese in P-cola.

The food is pretty decent and the service was pretty fast. I've only been there two times so far and the teriyaki chicken and the shrimp with garlic sauce is great!

The general tso chicken is delicious here, I order it every time I am in there! (which is quite often) Great little chinese restaurant for delivery or dine-in.

Four stars as I've visited once... I intend to re-visit so as to try their other food items. Thus far, I've ordered the following: - cream cheese wontons: yum! - vegetable lo mein: yum - the noodles were on point - vegetable egg foo young: delicious FYI - carry-out or dine in. Pros... Friendly, fast service and convenient hours. Also, very reasonable portion sizes!

Good chinese food for dine in, take out, or delivery at an affordable price. Ive orsered both individual portion and family quart size portions. The trays they have for their lunch menu makes me full each time so portion size is well established. When ordering deliver over the phone it is best to use numbers and be clear. They have a fairly large menu. Quart size servings will feed on average 3 to 4 people. Would recommend this place for anyone in the area lookingnfor decent chinese food at an affordable price.

Pretty good Chinese! Be careful though I thought I ordered a little but they give you soooo much food. It's awesome! Would definitely go back. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the inside is very bare and simple .

I was told this is the best Chinese food in Pensacola. After getting delivery, I decided that there probably isn't good Chinese food in Pensacola and I will just have to deal with it. The delivery man came fairly quickly and the order was correct. However, I was disappointed with their hot & sour soup. They're also more expensive than what I expect Chinese delivery to be. Quite average.

I live like a mile from this place & I've been here 3 times, the first time I had dragon & phoenix it was good so I thought thank goodness finally a decent place for Chinese in Pensacola. The second time I was very unimpressed by the general tso's chicken. I tried them once more & for the last time due to the fact that the food is just bland & overpriced. I got the general tso's again asked for it to be spicier. It was not spicy at all & the sauce was too sweet/gelatinous. Plus there was only 2 pieces of broccoli in it. Total bummer there really are no good Chinese eats in town. O well at least we have a place for great homemade ramen now, meet you at Nom!

Just a big heap of no. I had the happy family and it was hands down the grossest and most gelatinous mass of no I have had since being diwn here. It took from Chinese food cravings to accepting the fact I will just not eat chinese food while I'm stationed here. Its just a no. Keep your money and go get yourself some Whataburger or Checkers or something. Not this. Anything but this.

Great place for a quick affordable meal. If we're working later, this is the go to place!!

Best Chinese in Pensacola. My family eats here all the time, and we love Chinese food, so we've tried a bunch of other places in town. This place is the best. Delicious.

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!! The "Cashier," so-called Manager, Candy is the rudest chick ever. She got my delivery order wrong, & couldn't be a woman & own up to it. She said, "that's not my job!" Really? If you're answering the phone & taking orders, then please tell me what is your job!!!? I will never ever go to this place again & I will be going to talk to a REAL manager in the morning. They better be glad that I didn't feel like jumping in my car & going up there!!

I have had lunch here three times now. Each time the portions were different. The first time, huge portions. Second time, I wondered if maybe I ordered from the wrong area of the menu. The last time, my hubby's lunch was a large portion and mine left something to be desired. I am not sure what is with the cooks. All three times, I ordered the same thing. So, I can not explain it.

Come here now! We use this place about 3 times a month for lunch at the office- I usually order enough for 15 people and it's ready in minutes, the staff is great, cooks are superb. Yummy yum. Best Chinese food ever.

Incredible find! Heaping portions of very fresh vegetables and incredibly hot soups. Service was friendly and efficient and the prices were very low. Top pick for Pensacola.

So far the best take out Chinese in the area. Food is always cooked to order so there is a small wait in you order there otherwise call in. Very cheap . The owner (man) not the friendliest but at his prices maybe is the reason he's pissed. Better for us though I can deal with the impolite yet economical deal. Big plus is the plastic containers he uses for take out are bigger then the general area for Chinese take out. Plus giving a much larger Tupperware for your future lunch containers you can use throughout.

Food has always been good when we order, down side.. ordering take out when living on NAS pcola takes over an hour almost two,for a restaurant literally less than 3 miles down the road from the base and they have only ONE delivery driver and still charge delivery fee no matter how late he is. So my rating is on the delivery of the place...it sucks.

They rudely told me that the credit card purchases are now a minimum of$5 . I love the egg drop soup but it's all I can eat due to my digestive illnesses. I can't eat 2 quarts either. The guy was also rude to the older gentleman behind me. So the rudeness he portrayed has totally changed my views of this establishment.

Gave this place another try when I was in the hospital down the road after having a baby. Much better. The dude at the front isn't very friendly but the food is great. Super fresh veggies. General Tso and chicken with garlic are the family faves.

I would rate this as an average oriental food joint. The waitresses were very nice and attentive. The food seemed to take a while to come out though.

  • Cora R.

The orange chicken and egg rolls here are delicious but the noodles aren't that great.

  • Laura H.

The food is what you would expect from a fast food chinese restaurant. It leaves much to be desired but it is edible. I would pass over this one for a better option such as a place with hibachi...at least then it is fresh.

The very first time I ate here back in February, the food was great, but after the third time, what I ordered was undercooked (beef) and not well prepared! I asked to speak with whomever was in charge of that shift, but of course, no one was available to address the issue. Would not mind eating here again, just not willing to risk the thought of eating food that hasn't been cooked thoroughly.

The food was amazing, affordable and abundant. We went during lunch and I was able to split my plate and still unable to finish it (although I did want to). The bathroom was a little neglected but the lunch rush could have been to blame.

Looking for authentic Chinese food in the panhandle s definitely a wok on the wild side. You can settle for a good knock-off with an affordable price at the Grape Garden. It's not a dolled up tourist attraction with panda bears, trinkets and rugs on the walls. This small unsuspecting building doesn't do much to stand out and once you walk inside it feels like a corporate receptionist desk with a few food images on the back wall. Once you get past the dullness and order some food it's not half bad. I picked up some orange chicken to go that gave the fragrance of zesty oranges as if just plucked from your backyard. I wish the noodles had as much flavor as the oranges, but they were just so bland and wiggled around like worms in the dirt. The price is decent enough to try again.

The food is pretty good [I've eatten here before] too bad the phone service sucks. I asked for the lunch special today, which they told me in the past that it is always teriyaki with or without the egg roll. Anyways, the guy yells at me saying which lunch special and I mentioned teriyaki, and he yelled at me again saying "you have to say teriyaki lunch special". So I said thank you and nevermind.

We had the food delivered to the Navy Base it took 30 minutes which I thought was pretty fast. There is a $12.00 min and I don't believe there was a delivery charge, or at least I wasn't charged one haha. The food quality is pretty good and very large portions. My husband had already eaten but I made him try some because he is a lot picker eater than me and he thought the food was also very good. I would definitely order from them again. I read the reviews and I didn't feel like the person on the phone was rude but it sounded like people had spoke to a male and we talk to a female.

  • Forest R.

The cashier was rude and aggressive. They took over 20 minutes to make my food, and then the screwed up my order. The food itself was average ate best. I don't know why people rate this place so highly. I guess Pensacola has no decent Chinese food....Grape Garden included! So, if you want mediocre food served with a side of rudeness, this is your place.

  • Nick N.

Some of the best Chinese take-out I have had in Pensacola. Got a lot of food for a decent price and the staff were helpful when it came to order creation. Would strongly recommend for anyone who wants Chinese but doesn't want to cook.

  • Andrew E.

I will NEVER go back into this place! The food is ok but the guy at the counter is one of the rudest people I have had to encounter while trying to get a meal. I don't understand how they can stay in business. He's also rude to the other staff. Don't know what his role is but they should can his ass before he does anymore damage to their reputation and they have to shut the doors. Ok food, horrible service with an attitude. DO NOT waste your time!

Grape Garden makes one of the fresher chicken & broccoli dishes I've had from a "take out" Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is clean & well staffed, the food comes out extremely fast, and everything is really good! If you're looking for a new Chinese food restaurant on the west side of town, this is a great choice.

Best Chinese food hands down in Pensacola. Food is always made hot and fresh. The people that work there are always so nice and friendly. I highly recommend and I promise it won't disappoint.

Tasty, fast, not expensive, takeout. Ambience is non-existent, so definitely take your food home. Shrimp dishes include medium-large shrimp, not those itty bitty things some places pass off as shrimp! Mongolian beef has a capsicum kick that will impress your spice-loving friends. Lo mein also good, and fried rice is freshly made -- rather than the somewhat-dangerous retread it is in *some* takeout places that are this inexpensive. So yeah, we are fans! BTW, we have no clue why this place is called Grape Garden. There's no garden, but more to the point, there are no grapes... ??? :-)

You can't judge a book by its cover. I was craving good cheap Chinese food since I moved to Pensacola in June, but was too afraid to try any! I finally caved when a coworker got egg drop soup from grape garden... I've been back a few times now! Only downfall is they aren't open on Sundays. I love their Orange chicken, with real Orange slices in it! It's not gourmet by any means, but its a great Chinese find!

I think that for Pensacola, this is the best take-out Chinese restaurant. I have never had a bad experience here.

Decent Chinese food in Pensacola. Prices are really reasonable. I've had the chicken fried rice and the szechuan chicken, both were good. Not much else to say for a takeout chinese place.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
